When we arrived at the soccer game, it was quite crowded. There were other cars parked out here, as well as a large number of people, and I'm guessing it's mostly parents. Carlos located a parking space and parked the van. We exited and began walking to the bleachers. Manny took my hand in his and helped me up the bleachers.
We sat down and attempted to locate Marcus on the field. Aleah appeared out of nowhere and smiled at us. Celina, Carlos, Danny, and Camila were the first people she hugged. She then waved to the rest of us. She was dressed in a really cute dress that accentuated her curves.
💓
"Hey, everyone. I'm so glad you guys showed up. Marcus will be overjoyed when he finds out you guys made it." Aleah stated as she sat next to Manny.
"Can you tell me where my son is on the field?" Manny said to her, his gaze fixed on the field ahead.
"Number six is our son." Aleah said, motioning to Marcus.
"My baby looks so cute in his jersey." Celina stood up and clapped her hands for Marcus.
Carlos started shaking his head. "The boy is handsome, not cute, Celina."
When I looked over at Marcus, he was standing with his teammates, waiting for the game to begin. He does, however, look adorable in his little jersey. Manny had a big smile on his face when I looked at him. I can tell he adores his son and would go to any length for him. The game began a few minutes later, and the crowd became loud and excited. The other team began running with the ball, and Marcus's team went for it before the other team could kick the ball into the net.
Manny rose to his feet and placed both of his hands on the side of his mouth. "Let's go, Marcus! Make your father proud, son!"
Aleah jumped up and began shouting as well. 'All right, baby, let's go! Please score for me and daddy!"
I gave Aleah an irritated frown on my face. I'm not a fan of how close she is to Manny. She was constantly leaping up and down next to him. She's attempting to put her booty on Manny, I believe. I believe she is doing the most because she is aware of my and Manny's interactions. I'm trying not to say anything since this isn't the time or place for a brawl.
When I returned my attention to the field, I noticed that the other team had scored instead of Marcus's. When I look at Marcus, I can tell he was disappointed that the other team scored first.
"It's all right, Sobrino. You will score. Show those kids who's in charge." Camila yelled as she jumped up and down.
Manny started clapping for Marcus. "Don't worry, son. You've got it."
Marcus's team now has the ball and is sprinting to their goal. Marcus's teammate started running with the ball and kicked it to him. When Manny and the others saw Marcus had the ball, they became very excited. Marcus ran with the ball and quickly kicked it into the net.
Manny and the rest of us started screaming and clapping. Manny, Danny, Miguel, and Spooky were the ones who started doing the most. They were pounding their chests as if they were insane. Aleah jumped up and down and hugged Manny, who returned the hug. I gave them both the side eye and tried not to punch the shit out of them, but I kept my cool because I didn't want to cause a ruckus.

The opposing team snatched the ball from Marcus's team and raced to their goal. Marcus made this crazy move and stole the ball from the other team out of nowhere, and everyone on Marcus's team, especially Manny and his family, went insane. Everyone went crazy again when Marcus kicked the ball into the goal.
Aleah hugged Manny once more, and he hugged her back. I'm trying not to be rude because this is Marcus' game and I understand how important this is to him and I know that's their kid, and I'm sure they're proud of him for scoring a goal, but Aleah is starting to irritate me. She's hugging him solely to get under my skin, and she's succeeding admirably. To keep from slapping them, I informed Rubi that I was going to the canteen to get some food.
"Oh, could you please bring me a hot dog? My ass is hungry." Rubi said this while handing me some cash.
I gave her a sneer and snatched the money from her. Someone grabbed my arm before I could walk down the bleachers. When I turned around, I saw Manny grabbing my arm.
"Where are you going?" He inquired.
I drew my arm away from him. "I'm going to get some food. Why are you asking?"
He looked at me, perplexed. "What do you mean, why am I asking?" He then took some money from his pocket. "Here, mama, get whatever you want."
I returned his money to him. "I'm not in need of your money. I have my own."
I yanked my arm away from him and made my way to the canteen. When I arrived at the canteen, I immediately began perusing the menu. I've decided that I'd like some chili nachos. I told the woman what Rubi and I wanted, and she nodded and proceeded to fix it. It took her only 2 minutes to fix them both. I gave her the money and she gave me the food.
When I turned around, I collided with someone. A little bit of chili got on the person's shirt. It was this good-looking guy who greeted me when I looked up. I examined the stain on his shirt before looking up at him. Both me and him had a stunned expression on our faces.
To be honest, he looks a lot older than I do. He stands about 6 feet tall and has a pair of adorable colored eyes. They appear to be brown or hazel in color. I took out a napkin and began wiping the stain from his shirt.
"I'm truly sorry. I should have paid more attention to where I was going." I said to him.
He laughed softly as he took my hand. "It's fine. It's only a small stain. It will come out. You must be in a hurry to get back to the game."
I responded with a soft laugh. "I suppose you could put it that way."
He extended his hand so that I could shake it. "By the way, my name is Jose Levy. How about you?"
💓
I gently shook his hand. "It's great to meet you, Jose. My name is Angel."
Jose gave me a cute smile as he looked at me puzzled. "You don't sound like you're from around here. Do you have a child playing soccer on that field right now?"
I cracked up laughing. "I'm originally from New York. But I'm here with a friend and his family. On the field, he has a child playing right now."

"Wow, that's fantastic. I've always wanted to visit New York." He said this with the same grin on his face.
I giggled at him."You should go someday. I'm sure you'll have a good time. Are you from around here though?"
He shook his head. "No, I'm not from here. I'm from Cuba. My ex-wife is from this area. I returned here to watch my son play."
I should've guessed he was from Cuba because his accent differed slightly from Manny's.
"Oh, really, what's his jersey number?" I asked.
He shifted his weight and pointed to the field. "He's number 17."
I started looking for his son after he told me his jersey number, and when I found him, I realized he was on the same team as Manny's son.
"He plays for the same team as my friend's son. I hope they win the game." I said, smiling at the children.
He gave me a sly grin. "Oh, they'll win. "Believe me." He then looked at me as if he was about to ask me an interesting question. "Do you have a boyfriend?"
Marcus scored for his team again before I could answer his question, and I looked at the crowd, who were ecstatic. I then looked at Manny to see how he was reacting, and he was ecstatic for his son. Aleah then hugged him again and kissed him on the lips out of nowhere. I can't believe this hoe kissed Manny on the lips. I then returned my gaze to Jose.
"No, I don't have a boyfriend." With a big smile on my face, I said.
"That's incredible. Perhaps we should have lunch and get to know each other better." He said it with a smile on his face, revealing his pearly white teeth.
I continue to give him a friendly smile. "That would be great."
We exchanged phone numbers and said our goodbyes. I returned to the bleachers and handed Rubi her hot dog before sitting down and eating my nachos in silence.
"Can you tell me what took you so long? I'm dying of hunger over here, and you're taking your sweet time." Rubi said as she chewed on her hot dog.
Miguel interrupted us before I could respond to Rubi. "Foo, you mean to tell me you went to the canteen and didn't bring anything back for me? You're wrong for that."
I shoved my hand in Miguel's face. "Please, boy. Did you give me the money to go to the canteen? No. Celina also purchased snacks. You should be just fine."
When I said that, Miguel opened the bag Celina had brought and took a couple of chips and juice from it. I started eating my nachos while watching Marcus and his teammates play the game. I felt some hands on my shoulder out of nowhere, and when I turned to the side, it was Manny. I rolled my eyes at him and returned my attention to the game.
"Lemme have some of your nachos, Mama. I'm hungry." He said this while rubbing his stomach.
"I don't want you or your baby mother's gems in my food. Go get yourself one." I said this dramatically while chewing.
He gave me a quizzical look. "What are you talking about? Give me some, girl. You're tripping."
I burst out laughing. "Tripping? Did you just say I'm tripping? I saw you kissing your desperate ass baby mother."
Manny clenched his jaw after I said that, and Aleah had a smirk on her face. I tried not to pay attention to her, but she's been irritating me since I met her, so I'm not going to hold my tongue this time.
I stood up and aimed a finger at Aleah's face. "You'd better be thankful that I respect your son and Manny's family, because if I didn't, I'd have knocked yo ass out. Because you're so desperate for him. You are free to have him, sis."
Spooky, Miguel, Danny, Camila, Celina, Carlos, and Rubi all gave me a stunned look. I swear I didn't want to make a fuss, but she forced me to. Celina comforted me by reaching out her hand.
"What's going on, sweetie? Is everything all right?" Celina inquired, her voice trembling with concern.
I gently yanked my arm free from her grip. "I'm fine. All I'm going to do now is go for a walk to clear my head."
I was about to walk down the bleachers when my arm was grabbed once more. When I turned around, I realized it was Manny. I was about to snatch my arm away from him, but he had a firm grip.
Manny's jaw clenched and he rubbed his chin. "You have to listen to me. She came on to me. I've already told you that I don't fucking want her."
Aleah began to laugh loudly. "Do you not want me? Are you certain about that? You texted me last night about wanting to see me."
Manny looked at Aleah with a "the fuck" expression on his face. "I wanted to see my son, Bitch. Stop the fucking lying."
Carlos cut the conversation short. "Stop this nonsense and concentrate on the game Marcus is about to score."
Marcus scored before any of us could say anything, and the entire crowd went crazy. While Manny was engrossed in his game. I quickly yanked my arm away from him and began walking away. Manny and his desperate ass baby mother have gotten to me. She is free to have him if she so desires. This baby momma drama is not something I'm willing to deal with.
The game ended about an hour later, and Marcus's team did not win. The way he walked towards his coach indicated that he was upset. Marcus' teammates and the opposing team began exchanging high fives. Marcus and the other children dashed towards their parents.
When Marcus ran up to Manny and Aleah, Aleah kissed Marcus on the cheek and Manny ran his fingers through Marcus's hair. Manny and Aleah comforted Marcus as he sobbed. I know this is his family, but I can't stand seeing Manny and her so close. Celina and the others grabbed Marcus's belongings and we exited the field.
———————————————————————
We're all chilling out at Manny's mother's house right now. Celina invited Aleah and Marcus to join us for dinner, and while Marcus' presence didn't bother me, Aleah's presence did, so while everyone was downstairs eating dinner.
I was in my room upstairs, watching anime. While eating some chips, I was watching Attack on Titans. My phone rang while I was watching television. I took a look and realized it was Jose. I had forgotten about his invitation to lunch. He's probably expressing his displeasure about the situation.
José
Since you didn't make it to lunch, I've decided to invite you to dinner at my house. If you're willing to come, send me your address and I'll pick you up at 8 p.m.
Sent at 6:40pm
I didn't want to go at first, but Aleah is here, and I know she'll try to irritate me by being all up in Manny's ass, so I chose to go to dinner with Jose solely to make Manny envious. There's nothing wrong with attempting to meet new people.
I quickly completed my hygiene routine, as well as my hair and make-up. I put on my underwear and bra and began looking for a nice outfit. I found an outfit I liked after about a minute.
💓
I grabbed a perfume bottle and began spraying it on my clothes. While I was straightening my hair in front of the mirror. Rubi walked in with a smile on her face, but it quickly faded. She had a puzzled expression on her face.
Rubi put both of her hands on her hips. "Miss girl, where are you going?"
While putting on my earrings, I looked in the mirror at Rubi. "I'm going out. I won't be gone for long."
Rubi sat on the bed, her gaze fixed on me. "Where you going? And with who? I know you're not going out with Manny right now because he's not even dressed decently."
I sighed and rolled my eyes. "At the soccer game, I met someone and he invited me out to dinner."
Rubi sat down on the bed, her gaze fixed on me. "How come you're going out with a complete stranger? You have no idea what that individual is capable of. Plus, Celina made dinner for the whole family, so there's no need for you to go out."
Rubi got a sneer from me as I rolled my eyes. "I'm pretty sure he's not like that, and I'm not interested in sitting at the dinner table with everyone."
Rubi had a thoughtful expression on her face. "Is it because Manny's baby mother and son are here? Don't be concerned about her. Manny is unconcerned about her. He's not even looking at her ugly ass."
I shrugged my shoulders. "It doesn't matter to me. She made it abundantly clear that he and she are still dealing with each other , and I'm unconcerned about his son's presence. That's his son, and I'm well aware of how much he adores him."
Rubi began to sigh and shake her head. "You know Manny's going to be enraged, right?"
I grabbed my purse as I walked past Rubi. "Girl, I don't give a flying fuck. He should be fine because his baby mother is here to keep him occupied. Just make sure no one eats the entire food."
Rubi got off of the bed and began digging through her pockets. "And here, just in case this person is insane, take this."
I grabbed whatever Rubi had in her possession and examined it, discovering that it was a taser. I'm surprised she didn't give me something even weirder. I put the taser in my purse and returned my gaze to Rubi.
"I promise I'll be fine. If I have a need for you, I'll call you." I told Rubi.
My phone rang before Rubi could respond, and when I looked at it, it was a notification from Jose. I'm fairly certain he's informing me that he's outside. Rubi sensed that I was about to leave, so she escorted me downstairs and to the door. Celina stopped me in my tracks before I could even open the door.
"Hey, where are you going, sweetie? I prepared dinner for us. Your food is over there." Celina said this while pointing to a plate of food next to Manny.
"I'm going out right quick. I won't be gone long. Could you please wrap my food up for me?" I stated.
Celina shook her head, and Marcus began to smile at me. I swear he looks exactly like his stupid ass daddy, but cuter.
"Hey you, I saw you at my game. Are you going to come to my next game?" Marcus inquired in a sweet tone.
I gave him a friendly smile. "I'm not certain. It depends, and by the way, you were fantastic out there. I'm confident you'll beat the other team next time."
Marcus jumped out of his chair and ran over to hug me. "Thank you. We should be the best of friends."
I embraced him tightly. "We are the best of friends."
While Marcus and I were hugging, I felt someone grab Marcus's shoulder, and I realized it was Manny. He gave me a straight face before smiling at Marcus.
"All right, little man, that's enough. Go and eat." Manny said this as he pushed Marcus closer to the table. With a mean mug, he then looked at me. "Where the fuck are you going? Tell me something because I don't recall making plans with you."
I sucked my teeth at him. "I'm going out with a friend. Why are you so worried? I see you have plans with your child's mother. Go eat with your large, happy family."
Manny palmed his face. "What fucking friend? Angel, don't fuck around with me. You don't know anyone around this bitch except my family, so who are you referring to as a friend?"

Fighting to be Kind in a Cultivation World
Aren't you tired of the typical cultivation story, where an isekai'd person comes into the world and becomes a brutal or selfish person? I know I am. So instead of being fully changed by the world, I want this protagonist to stick to their beliefs and help to change the world (and people) for the better. There will still be main character development and tests of those beliefs, but I want them to maintain that aspect. Brief Synopsis:American is thrown into a typical Xuanhuan cultivation world where the masses of the people are typically sacrificed for the abilities of the few. This is meant to be an alternate take on how protagonists approach these worlds. Main character comes into the world w/ scanning, healing, and monster taming abilities. The release schedule will begin on Dec 1st. The schedule is 2 chapters/week (Tue & Fri) at 11pm. Please like, comment, and follow, as that helps me to gauge interest in the series. Final note: I notice that many cultivation novels treat abuse or sexual assault as a throwaway tool to set a stage. I think the way it is normally done is both lazy and a disrespectful to victims. If you have any suggestions on how I can improve the way I've done it in this series, please let me know. I want to do this the right way. P.S. *Nudge, nudge* If you are looking for a sneak peek of up to 16 chapters ahead, check out my Patreon. :D
