It's been a week since I met Melo at the basketball court. This week I start school at Chino Hills and honestly I wasn't feeling nerves at all.
My mom decided to take me school shopping, I got all the things I need for school. Now it's my favorite part of shopping, the clothes part. I looked around the mall that I was in with my OG. She kept pointing out stores to me, saying I should get this and that.
You see, my clothing taste is WAY different from my moms. I know it obviously is but some moms like to steal their teenage daughters clothes, not my mother though.
I spotted hot topic and drag my mother into the store. She looked around the store with a scared look on her face, I roll my eyes at her and laugh.
"C'mon! help me pick something cute please?" I ask her while looking through the racks.
Being in the store for 20 mins, I found some cute things. Mostly chains, earrings, and belts. But at least it's something right? My mom and I walk out the store.
I hear loud laughs and arguing, just like the loud shit I heard at the park. I looked up at ceiling praying it wasn't Melo and his friends but with my luck it probably was.
"Damn! why those kids so loud for?" my mom complaining while rolling her eyes.
I follow the direction my mom was glaring at, It was Melo and his crew. Of course it is. Amazing. I looked up at the ceiling once more and flared at God.
"There just kids mom, there having fun." I said defending them.
My mom and I were about to walk past them. Fuck! I needed to think of something quick so Melo doesn't see me. Too late.

"Hey You! Feisty girl!"
"Scar? baby? do you know them?" My mom asks me. I nodded at her a yes that's it. I didn't want to get into too much detail.
I wasn't facing them just yet, I took a deep breath and turned around.
"Feisty girl? really?" I finally replied to Melo.
His friends were just by standing watching the whole thing. Doesn't say anything to me, I mean why would they? They don't know me, I don't know them.
"Well, I didn't get your name but now I know. Scar. " he replies back.
The way he said my name made my legs turn into jelly, I acted like it didn't affect me at all. I just kept my straight face on.
I forgot my mom was standing there for a minute, I turned around and told her I'll be a minute.
"Okay, Ill be at the food court. Got there when you are done." My mom walks away while giving the group a little wave. They wave right back.
"Well, now you know my name but I don't know y'all names though." I said.
I'm pretending I don't know who the hell Melo even is. I'm not giving that boy the satisfaction, over my dead body.
He looks shocked when I said that, he quickly shakes it off and smiles at me with his perfect teeth.
"Well, I'm Melo and these niggas are my bitches."
One of his friends hit him across the head, I put my hand over my mouth to cover my laughs. One of them pushes Melo out the way to get to me, he grabs my hand and kisses the back of it.
"I'm Phaquan, but people call me Pq." He introduces himself.
"And I'm Scar, nice to meet you Phaquan."

"I love the way you say my name baby." he replies.
Melo grabs Pq by his collar and pulls him back behind him. Melo rolls his eyes and shakes his head. Melo introduces me to everyone in his group, I told them I start Chino hills this week. They got pretty excited for that.
"Um y'all, I gotta go. My momma waiting for me still." I say to them.
"Shit hold on, we need your socials girl." Daijon calls out before I leave.
I roll my eyes
"alright nigga."

Ashes of the Primordial
With the upcoming shutdown of the servers for Ragnarok Games’ deep dive VRMMO, ‘Ashes of the Primordial’, the player log of those online for the final night was depressingly empty-looking. A revolutionary level of realism drove Ashes to the forefront of the games market, billions of players enjoying their journey to power and glory as an avatar of their own creation. The final enemy of the game-world defeated, the company announced, in line with their stance from launch, that they would be shutting down the game exactly six months after the defeat of Sutr, the final boss. Ammanas, the player responsible for Sutr's defeat, stays online until the end. However, as the countdown hits 0, the start-hub of his dive rig (what would typically greet a forced ejection from a game) was no where to be seen and instead darkness greets him as he fades into unconsciousness. Awakening to unfamiliar sights in an unfamiliar body, one which turns out to be a lot more familiar than he first thought, now he must figure out where, how, why and what to do with the new world he finds himself in. Author note: I don't own the cover, just something found through a google search. This is also my first story and the MC will basically be unimaginably OP yet never really utilising his full power. He just wants to find somewhere to fit in to the new world he finds himself in and despite both his nature as a loner and his interests he will find himself forming connections with the denizens of this new realm. Hope you enjoy
