A few weeks pass and me and LaMelo gt closer to each other.
He always comes over to my house so we can study or help each other with homework.
After school sometimes LaMelo walks me to my moms car.
Today is one of those days.
LaMelo walks me to my moms car.
The walk is silent until me and LaMelo are almost at the parking lot.
"Do you think you can give me a ride home?" LaMelo asked while looking down at me.
"Um- ask my mom!" I reply while walking up to my moms car door.
I signal for my mom to roll down the window and she does.
"Hey LaMelo!" My mom exclaims. "You need a ride?"
LaMelo smiles and nods his head yes.
"Hop on in! Daya you have to sit in the backseat because I have my work stuff up here," my mom states.
Me and LaMelo hop in the car and I try to buckle up my seatbelt.
Me and LaMelo's hands end up touching because we are both attempting to put on our seatbelts.
"Sorry..." LaMelo states. "You go first!"
I buckle my seatbelt blushing a bit.
After bucking up LaMelo buckled himself up.
My mom begins to drive and me and LaMelo sit there not saying a word to each other.
I pull out my phone and I look at peoples Snapchats.
"How was school?" My mom asked.
"Good, nothing to special!" I reply.
"Melo?"
"Yes?"
"How about you? Was school good?" My mom asked again.
"It was fine, we didn't have a lot of work today!"
———
Once we make it to LaMelo's house my mom waits for him to open his front door.
He is taking a while and me and my mom continue to wait for him.

He ends up walking back to the car.
"Um, Mama D!" LaMelo starts to say. "I don't have my key to my house and no one is home..."
"When will someone be home?" My mom asked while putting the car in park.
"Let me see,"
LaMelo whips out his phone and he calls someone putting them on speaker.
"Hello?" A familiar female voice says. "What do you need Rat?"
"Daniella, when are you and Zo gonna be home?" LaMelo asked.
"Babe! Do you know when we'll be home?" Daniella asked.
"Not sure, traffic." Zo states.
"Well, I forgot my key in the house...so can y'all hurry up?" LaMelo asked.
"We'll try," Daniella states before hanging up the phone.
"You can come to our house and they can pick you up if you want, that way you don't have to sit here by yourself." My mom says to LaMelo.
"Thanks Mama D!" LaMelo exclaims while hopping back in the car.
LaMelo takes out his phone and texts who I am guessing is Daniella or Lonzo.
We make our way to my house and once we make it there, we all go inside.
My mom immediately goes to her room once me and LaMelo get situated.
"Wanna help me with this homework?"
I laugh.
"Not really, but I will I guess!" I reply while sitting next to LaMelo who is currently sitting at the dining room table.
————
Me and LaMelo are currently doing our work together.
LaMelo looks at me and then he makes a face that makes me smile at him.
"How do you think you'll die?" He asked randomly.
What type of question I think to myself slowly processing the question in my head.

"I mean, I hope I die of natural causes..." I state. "How about you?"
"I think that one day imma try shrooms on the beach and I'm gonna tweak and like drown- or imma be doing something dumb!"
I look at LaMelo for a second before shaking my head.
"You're so random," I state while turning my attention back to my homework.
"Daya," LaMelo says while looking at me.
"Yes?"
"If you could get one hundred dollars a day for the rest of your life or one million dollars now which one would you pick?" LaMelo asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Um the one hundred everyday because it'll come out of more than one million!"
"I'd pick that too!"
"Do you-" LaMelo starts to say but I interrupt him.
"What's up with all the questions?" I asked him while tapping my pencil on the table.
He simply shrugs his shoulders in return.
"Do you believe in love?" LaMelo asked.
"What?"
"Do you believe in love?" He asks again.
I feel LaMelo looking at me so I look back at him and we stare at each other.
The gaze is so intense that I blush and look away.
LaMelo places his hand under my chin forcing me to look at him.
My heart starts beating in my chest once he touches my skin.
"Wh-why are you asking me that?"
"You look so beautiful in the sunlight...!" LaMelo states a light shade of pink spreading across his cheeks.
"Wait what?" I asked confused.
"You are so beautiful..."
I blink a couple of times.
LaMelo...
"...so I thought for a second and I was like what is this that I'm feeling in my chest, is this it? Is this what it feels like to be in lo-"
Once again LaMelo gets interrupted but this time it's not by me it's by his phone.
LaMelo clears his throat before letting go of my chin and answering his phone.
"Hello?" LaMelo says into the phone.
There's a slight pause before LaMelo replies saying that he'll be outside soon.
I'm assuming that Lonzo and Daniella are outside waiting for him.
I see LaMelo glance at me and we make eye contact for a second. I blush looking away.
Bum bum. Bum bum. Bum bum.
That's my heart beat accelerating every second.
Where did all of there sudden feelings come from?
I look at LaMelo and he looks at me.
"Is Lonzo here?" I asked while looking down at the floor.
"Yeah..." LaMelo trails off.
He looks at me and I look at him again.
LaMelo takes a step closer to me and I stare into his eyes.
In one quick motion LaMelo kisses my cheek, grabs his backpack, and runs out the door.
I stand there shocked with a hand on my cheek.

Tales of the 33rd universe - A Mech Designer story
Meet Marcus Caelum, since young he wanted nothing else to play with mechs. He studied, worked hard and he finally did it, now he is a Mech Designer (provisional). He achieved his dream and now is the time for realization, he now will learn that not all is great, that there are things to learn and that if he wants to do the job well he better adapt. Cover taken from a Battletech manual. This is my "first" novel so do forgive the quality a bit.It is mostly a Slice of life following what I believe a Mech Designer life would be. It will have action, science, comedy, dark moments and some adventure. It will barely have any romance and little actual combat (he won't go off fighting enemies everywhere, the MC is not a fighter). It's medium sci-fi, most hard science with some mana altering normal materials. The pacing is a bit slow, it takes some time for the story to advance. The first arc is completed and the novel is until further notice on HIATUS.I may continue the Tales of the 47th Universe to try my hand at another style and pacing. More info in chapter 22.
