The day had finally come when Xisuma came to visit Grian and Mumbo. It was to let the two of them know that it was going to be Mumbo's turn to join the live.

Mumbo was very excited he was next to be a part of the live feature. They were about three days into using the new feature. Things had been going well so far.

"All you have to do is meet up with everyone at the portal tomorrow, just so you can introduce yourself to the world. You won't get to know who you're with until tomorrow."

"Alright, I'll be at the portal tomorrow then!" Mumbo smiled as Xisuma waved goodbye at the two of them.

"You ready to go live tomorrow?"

"I'm very excited!"

"It was quite fun when I did it. I was a little scared cause there were people watching me, but I just pretended they weren't there and did what I would normally do." Grian explained.

"Yeah, that's sort of my plan."

"I wonder who you'll be with tomorrow?"

"I have no idea, like X said I won't get to know till tomorrow."

It wasn't long before the day was coming to an end, and Grian and Mumbo went to bed. The next morning Mumbo was up early making sure he looked okay and making sure he'd eaten before he left.

Grian slept in fairly late as usual; late enough that Mumbo had already been long gone.

When Grian walked out, there was a piece of paper on the table, what he presumed was a note from Mumbo.

He was right.

"Morning Gri! I was going to wake you up, but you were sleeping very peacefully and I know you enjoy your rest. Love you and see you in an hour

'Mumbo is just the best boyfriend ever..!' Grian looked at a clock. 10:27 am. He guessed it would be about another half hour before Mumbo would be back from the live time.

"Uh, I guess I'm supposed to start this, so, hi everyone, I'm Mumbo!"

"I'm Pearl, I'm new here this year!"

"Ello, I'm Stress!"

"Hey everyone, I'm Scar!"

"Hello everyone, I'm doc."

"I'm Keralis, I like your face!" No, Keralis couldn't see anyone. He just liked to say he likes peoples faces.

"Hi, I'm False! Looking forward to the shenanigans this year!"

"And I'm Xisuma, as a reminder in case you're new or forgot!"

When Mumbo went off, he went to his house first, to show people the progress he had already made.

After that, he decided to go off mining, looking for more resources.

By the end of the hour, he had found 46 diamonds, along with several other things like copper and redstone. He was fairly happy with his progress.

After he knew the live had turned off, he went back home to see if Grian was awake.

"Gri~! I'm hoooome~!"

"Mumby!!" Grian ran up to his love and hugged him tightly. "I missed you!"

"I missed you too love!"

"How was your first live?"

"It was pretty good! A bit odd, but still good! All I did was some mining."

"I wonder if we'll ever be on together..."

"I hope we are at least once. I'm sure it'll happen!"

A couple months had now passed since the live feature had started, and everything was going well. Everyone was making a lot of progress. Mumbo and Grian still hadn't heard anything about Elise.

{Outside world}

But she was plotting.

She just needed a way in.

She remembered receiving a letter. She wondered if she could find it and see if there were some kind of details about how to get into HermitWorld.

She searched all around her house. Top to bottom. Everywhere she could think of to look.

She checked boxes, drawers, shelves, bookcases, books, anywhere you could find a piece of paper in.

Elise had been looking for over three hours before she finally found it.

She read the entire letter over and over again, but didn't find a single detail about how to get there. Until she found her magnifying glass.

The writing was so tiny, but she was able to read it.

"If something happens, and you are kicked out or don't end up within a year of receiving the letter, here's what you need to do:

1. Contact Xisuma

2. You have been chosen, look around your house for a secret way

If this doesn't work, our sincerest apologies. You must then wait for a new invitation."

'hmm... Wonder if there happens to be a secret way...' she knew for sure she couldn't contact Xisuma, there was no way he'd ever willingly let her in! And she couldn't wait around for another invitation; one that would never come.

As someone who'd been chosen, there had to be some way or some other clue on how to get in.

Elise searched all around her house again, wondering if it was supposed to be like some kind of trapdoor or secret wall. What it actually turned out to be was another piece of paper, hidden in a pillowcase.

"Have you been kicked out unexpectedly or not joined within a year?

Tried contacting Xisuma, still no answer?

No new invitation?

Xisuma watched as Elise discovered the letter, and "secret" paper.

He knew that she would try and find some way back in, and he decided to play along. He just needed to fool her long enough and make her believe she was going to be coming back while he distracted Mumbo and Grian, as well as come up with a new plan.

Elise had surely come up with some kind of revenge, and he had to make sure she didn't actually get to perform it.

It wasn't a good idea to tell anyone about anything, so Xisuma kept quiet and acted as if everything was completely normal.

{Outside world}

"All you need to do is very simple.

Because you've read this letter, you've already done everything you need to do.

There's nothing special you need to do; someone knows you've read this and need to come back! Everyone is probably missing you right now!

Someone should come by to get you in about a week, please be patient with us!

'just wait a week? That's it?'

Elise hoped that this would work; she wasn't sure what she would do if she couldn't get back and serve justice.

Uh I'm not the biggest fan personally of this chapter, definitely not my favourite one I've written! I've had some major writer's block, and have also been extremely busy lately!

I hope you all still enjoyed the chapter, this one took a bit longer to write!

Having a villain in the plot has definitely made some things easier, including ideas. It's not always great, but it's better than before because I didn't really have a particular plot or anything, I was just writing. And most of the chapters could probably be considered Oneshots until you get to the part with Elise.
