《Ninjago: the Daughter of the Overlord》Chapter 4: Journey to the Past

Day after day Aria did chores for months, completely annoying might she add. Sensei Roshi kept giving her specific ways to do the chores and every time she did it differently she would get hit in the head with his staff. Now she knew how the ninja felt with Sensei Wu. Having a Sensei is really annoying.
Aria stood in front of Roshi looking annoyed, he was giving her the tasks for the day.
"Then I want you to wash the windows again and-"
"Stop!" Aria shouts "I left Ninjago to train" she slams her hands on the table "I want you to train me Sensei, not have me do these senseless tasks"
"Hmm.." Roshi strokes his beard "senseless tasks.."
"Sensei I want to train, please" Aria begs "I want to return to Ninjago as soon as I can, please Sensei, I'm ready"
"Hm.." Roshi stands up "very well, follow me"
"Where are we going?" Aria asks
"To test whether or not you are ready" Roshi replies
Aria follows Roshi out of the Monastery and down the side of the mountain, the opposite side of the valley. Aria looks in front of her to see a black dragon, behind it was hundreds of other dragons of different color.
"Woah" Aria looks around "I thought Dragons were endangered?"
"Maybe in Ninjago" Roshi says "but here, dragons flourish and live in many environments. Remember young princess, you're no longer in Ninjago, this is the Shadowlands"
Roshi walks up to the black dragon and pets it.
"Hello old friend I ask of you to bring us to the capital" Roshi says with a smile
The dragon roars happily and motions its head to back.
"Please get on your highness" Roshi tells her
Aria climbs onto the back of the dragon and Roshi sits behind her.
"Hold on tight" Roshi chuckles "don't want you falling off"
Aria nods happily as the dragon takes off. She looks down at the landscape under her as the dragon flies through the sky. Everything was amazing, the environment was really different here then Ninjago. There were villages everywhere in each environment, not many plants grew but the people didnt seem to mind. Everyone seemed happy, even ones living near lava.
They soon came apon a large village, it looked like it was about the center of the kingdom. The dragon roared as they landed in the outskirts of the village. Aria immediately climbed off and looked around at the busy village in amazement.
"Was that your first time on a dragon?" Roshi asks her with a smile

"Mhm" Aria nods "it was so fun"
"I'm glad" Roshi walks forward "follow me"
Aria waves to the dragon before following Roshi inside the village. She looked around to see that it was nothing like Ninjago. Everyone here seemed happy but they weren't all exactly human. They were more like different races of monsters or demons. She saw ones that wore witches/wizard hats, their were some that looked like werewolves, etc.
"Sensei where are we going?" Aria asks curiously
"You'll see" Roshi simply replies
Aria looked around to see people staring at her. She noticed nobody here had blonde hair like hers, it was quite strange.
"Hey Sensei" Aria calls "how come everyone's staring at me?"
"Because they know who you are" Roshi tells her
"Huh?" Aria looks confused "how?"
"Your blonde hair" Roshi replies "nobody here has the same gold blonde locks you have, that was something only your mother had, therefore even though you've been gone for years everyone here can identify you as the princess since you got passed the barrier. And also cause you're with me, the princess's sensei"
"Oh that makes sense" Aria smiles
They make their way through the village, people around them seemed happy to see her actually. Aria smiled to herself, it was so nice to be there, even if her people were not human. Roshi stopped and patted her head before pointing up a mountain where an old castle sat on top.
"That is your destination" Roshi tells her
"Aren't you coming?" Aria asks him
"No" he shakes his head "this is a journey only for you"
Aria looks at him confused before starting her way up the mountain. The air seemed to be colder up there, it made it almost creepy. Once she made it to the top she looked up at the giant doors. Their was dust covering the door and everything.
Aria pushed open the doors with all her strength and the giant doors opened slowly with a creaking noise. Aria grabbed a nearby candle and lit it using her purple fire. She stepped into the old castle, she could hear her shoes clicking against the floor as she walked.
Dead center of the giant ball room was a stair case. She slowly walked up the stairs and once she reached the top she shone her candlelight on the giant hanging portrait.
Aria placed her hand on top of it "mommy.. daddy.."
Aria saw a candle hanging on the wall and she used her candle to light that one. Suddently all the candles in the hall lit up with purple fire. She looked around the dimly lit room to see old paintings of people all around. She stepped back a bit startled, this was all a bit creepy.

Aria looked up at the stairs to her right and continued up. She walked through the halls looking at all the old trinkets covered in dust. As she walked she noticed all doors around her were closed, she didn't know what but something inside her told her to keep walking, until she got to the middle of the hall. Their was one single door parted open.
Curiously, Aria opened the door the rest of the way and looked inside. It was a playroom with a couch and many toys around. A image flashed in her head, a very young girl and boy sat on the ground playing while two women, probably their mother's, sat on the couch talking happily, two men stood in the corner talking as well.
Aria put her hand on her head and walked out of the room. She continued down the next hall and watched for other open doors. She soon came across one and opened it. Inside was a large training room, another image flashed in her head. A young girl training with her father. She closed the door and walked down the hall.
At the end of the hall was a parted door that led to stairs, she took a breathe before walking up the stairs. At the top of the stairs was a large room, a kid's room. Aria walked over to the counter covered in dust, there sat jewlery and little toys. She blew the dust off of a little box, a music box. She looked at the name engraved on it: ARIA.
"Those memories are mine" Aria looked around "this was my room"
Aria held up a picture on her nightstand and wiped the dust off of it.
"This boy.. who is he?" Aria asks confused
Aria put down the picture and walked back down the stairs. She walked back through the hall and made her way to the main ball room. There, Aria made her way over to a knight's armor. Almost like in a trance, she put her hand over the sword and pressed it down into the floor. Their was a clicking noise and the knight moved aside to reveal a secret passage.
Aria walked through and made her way into a giant room underneath the castle, in the cliff. It was an underground garden, and in the center was a pond. Her eyes turned purple and she began moving towards it, she couldn't control her body. Once she reached it their was no turning back, she walked straight into it.
Aria closed her eyes as her body sunk into it. Memories flashed into her head, memories of when she was younger, the memories of her mom, dad, and the little boy she couldn't remember before, but she knew now that he was her best friend.
One memory stood out in general to her.
"Mommy why do you wanna change the world?" Little Aria asked her mother
"So we can all live in it together" Layla picked up her daughter "look at all our subject, they're all beings deemed unfit by humans, because they're dangerous. If the first Spinjitzu Master would listen, him and your father could use their powers together instead of fighting. To unite both light and dark, then the world would be truely balanced and our subject would be free to live in ninjago too"
"Why won't he mommy?" Young Aria asks
"Because he wont let the darkness in" Layla replies "he doesn't see it our way, so daddy will do whatever it takes, to make the world whole. Even by force, do you understand princess?"
"Yes mommy" young Aria smiles "and I'll help too, I'll fight the other guys and make the realm whole, you'll see"
Layla giggles and rubs her daughter's head "If it's my Aria who says it then I know you will, fight hard my darling"
Aria opened her eyes to see herself looking up at the sky. She turned to see herself on the back of the dragon.
"You're awake" she hear's Roshi's voice "did you find it?"
"I did.." Aria sits up "I want to defeat the Ninja, avenge my father, and make the world balanced again"
"Good" Roshi smiles
The dragon lands and they make their way up to the Monastery. There they stood outside in the training area.
"Now, about your pointless chores.." Roshi smirks
Aria whines "no more sen-"
"Wash the windows!" Roshi goes to punch her
Aria quickly moved her hand up and blocked it.
"Good reflexes" Roshi smiles "you have learned"
"Wha- how?" Aria looks at her hands confused
"Hmm" Roshi strokes his beard "how about.. wash the floor!"
Roshi does a high kick and Aria quickly ducks down moving her foot out.
"Good form" Roshi complements as he claps lightly "and see you're now in the positions to counterattack"
Aria stands up straight "so all these months of chores.. was training?"
"Mhm" Roshi nods "see, as I said, their is a reason for everything. You're journey to the past has done you wonders, now we can begun your true training"
Aria smiles and bows "thank you sensei" she smirks "you better be ready for me ninja, cause I'm coming for you"
