《mamma mia | jeremy jordan》4. sober up

Ana woke up on Saturday morning with a pounding headache, which was followed by a vile feeling intruding her stomach. She coughed at the scratchiness on the lining of her throat and curled back up underneath her thick, gray comforter.
Ana eventually found the ability to pull herself up out of bed, only she immediately faced the freezing cold. Ana groaned, ready to fall back into bed when Laura knocked on her door.
Ana muttered a polite, "Come in," and began painfully smiling when Laura walked in with a tray of coffee and another random cup.
"Hey, sleepy-head," Laura laughed, setting the tray down on Ana's bedside table. She sat by Ana's feet, enclosing the sides of her bathrobe around her torso.
"What's this?" Ana carefully lifted the latter cup off of the tray and smelled it. She didn't smell anything, as it was just a cup of water. How very anticlimactic of you, Laura, Ana thought.
"Did you expect it to be, like, eggs and Gatorade and ginseng, or something?" Laura laughed, her eyebrows raised into her hairline.
"Well, just something a lot more weird than water. But, thank you for bringing these to me." Ana gulped down the water and followed it up by coffee.
"Do you want to do something today?" Laura continued the conversation, standing up to pick a few random clothing pieces off the ground.
Ana rolled her eyes as Laura tossed the things into Ana's laundry basket. She'd gotten over trying to argue Laura out of cleaning up Ana's room.
"Like what?" Ana tilted her head to the side and gave Laura a, 'seriously?' expression.
Laura shrugged, "Maybe we could just go out to lunch or something? Possibly go ice skating? It snowed again last night, probably for the last time, so this might be our last chance."
Ana nodded as she took a sip of her hot coffee. Laura knew her drink order so well. "Sure."
Laura was halfway out the door when she ended with, "Get dressed and we'll leave soon."
"Okay," Ana replied, standing out of her bed in order to pull open the curtains.
It was bright outside, causing Ana to squint at the light. White flakes covered every inch of ground in sight, making the buildings rising from the ground to look like metaphorical flowers. She smiled at the city's gorgeous weather shine.
Ana opened up the doors of her closet after using three restroom and chose a winter-appropriate outfit— a pink turtleneck with frills around the openings tucked into black jeans with a belt she'd stolen from Laura.
Ana messily made her bed and sat back down to lace up her black booties. She chose her one and only winter jacket— a brown, fuzzy piece that was extremely thick and warm.
Ana's stomach grumbled loudly, causing a smile to tug at her lips. She grabbed her purse and jacket in order to join Laura in the kitchen.
"Aw, look at you, my little house wife, making breakfast," Ana teased upon seeing Laura at the stove, moving eggs around on a pan.
"Shut up!" Laura giggled and threatened to toss an egg onto Ana's 'perfectly' done hair.
"Perfect my ass," Laura mumbled to herself as she snickered.

Ana gasped in an extremely dramatic manner and set a hand to her heart, "Excuse me?"
"Kidding, kidding!" Laura hugged Ana's side, squeezing her tightly.
"I know," Ana giggled.
Ana poured both of them a glass of orange juice and sat at the kitchen island as she awaited the food to be finished. She set her phone aside once Laura set a plate of eggs and mini pancakes in front of her.
"Thanks, Laura," Ana mockingly sung.
Laura pursed her lips and stuck a bunch of eggs into her mouth. Ana rolled her eyes, focusing on her food until her phone went off.
She'd turned off her Instagram notifications earlier that morning— considering that was when they arrived home from the bar— due to the people who were commenting hateful things on her posts. Laura's fans were saying that Ana had been suing Laura— which she didn't understand, considering she simply moved into the apartment, having not known who Laura was. Others were just commenting on ones in which Laura commented, too, looking to find her attention.
Both girls had enough stress on their shoulders, considering Laura was auditioning every single day, and Ana was looking for a job herself. So, she decided in her drunken state that morning that disabling her motivations would help her take her mind off things. And, maybe it wouldn't allow Laura to look down at Ana's phone and see the comments popping up on her lock screen.
Ana has received a text message, which confused her, considering her only friend was in front of her. A certain blondes contact appeared— Ashley.
Hey! What're you doing today?
Ana mouthed the text to herself, catching Laura's brief attention.
"What's that?" The actress wondered.
Ana squinted her eyebrows together, "Uh? Oh, just a text message from Ashley. Could we maybe ask her to come with us today?"
Laura nodded before taking both of their empty plates to the sink. "Tell her to meet us at the coffee shop on 42nd and we'll catch a Subway together to the ice rink."
"Okay," Ana spouted the news onto her phone keyboard, which continued a brief conversation with Ashley until their plans were in place.
The clock on the stove read 10:59 when they left the apartment, striking 11:00 when they hit the lobby button on the elevator. Ana and Laura arrived at the coffee shop shortly after the hour, shedding their jackets and awaiting Ashley to order their drinks.

Jeremy woke up at an extremely time on Saturday— 7:00 AM to be exact. He didn't exactly have a hang-over, due to the fact that he'd gotten used to be wasted over the past few weeks.
He had an epiphany to put some things into order— mainly to convince himself that things in his life were in line. They definitely were not, however.
So, Jeremy showered and shaved the five o'clock shadow appearing along his jaw. He piled all his dirty laundry into two baskets and took them down to the machines in his buildings basement. Jeremy cleaned up the trash lying around his apartment and tossed the rest of the beers in his fridge.
He was going to try and sober up, although he knew it wouldn't last through the weekend.

Jeremy decided that after the show that night, he would take a midnight trip to the Bed, Bath, and Beyond to purchase a bed frame, a dresser, and a new bed set. In order to do this, however, he would have to convince Ben to go with him.
So, Jeremy invited his friend out for coffee at the shop on their theater's street. He called the younger performer at 9:00 AM, when Jeremy knew he would be awake, and told him of his idea.
Ben didn't bother to try to get Jeremy to apologize for being a dick, but instead took up the offer and agreed to meet him at 11:00.
Jeremy chose a nice button-down shirt and straight legged jeans. Maybe he would go clothes shopping on Monday, too.
In the back of his mind, he knew the positive attitude wasn't going to last. The left side of his brain— the side that held his darker attitude— would overcome his right side again. But, he was going to take advantage of this positivity for as long as he could hold onto it.
Jeremy arrived at the coffee shop before Ben, and ordered both of their drink— hot green tea with limited sugar and no milk. As much as he wanted to have a loaded cup of coffee, he knew that two show days meant dairy-free days. He smiled at his self control, immediately feeling weirded out by his expression, considering he was staring at his cup.
Ben sat down shortly after, greeting Jeremy with a bear hug. Jeremy, who'd gulped down two mugs already, asked Ben to order him another and went to the bathroom.
He cursed the hand dryers for not doing their very best and attempted to dry his hands on his shirt. Jeremy punched open the door and stepped out without focus on where he was going.
-
Ana excused herself to the bathroom a few minutes into their wait for Ashley and Laura gave her a silly wave. Ana used the toilet and washed off her hands.
Stupid dryers, she scrunched up her nose as her hands were still damp. She was focused on wiping them down the legs of her jeans when she pushed open the door of the bathroom.
She took a step forward before running straight into a stranger. They cursed at Ana, but though they were angry for her running into them, they grabbed her by the shoulders before she landed flat on her face.
She discovered it was a man not much older than her when she nets eyes with him. Ana felt herself drowning in his face, which was structured well on top of a decently chiseled body. His hair was ruffled on top of his head, a sure sign that he ran his hands through them a lot.
That's hot, Ana thought to herself, blushing as they held prolonged eye contact.
Jeremy was breath-taken as well, his eyes locking with hers, and staying here even when hers moved to examine him. They were a deep brown, they matched the faded brown that swam in her brunette hair. She was extremely thin, but it suited her medium-height. She was dressed incredibly cute— in a turtleneck and jeans that made her curves stick out a bit more than he guessed was normal.
Jeremy excused himself once he realized they were staring at each other. Ana apologized, watching him walk back over to his friend.
Damn you, hot man, she thought to herself, as she walked back over to her table, flushed as hell.
Ashley was sitting there with Laura delved inside a conversation over their night last night. Laura had ordered Ana the exact same coffee she'd had hat morning. Ana thanked her before turning to Ashley to hug her tightly. Ana sat down to join in the conversation.
When Ben noticed Ashley walk into the coffee shop, he started sweating profusely. Luckily, she was sitting on the far end of the establishment, her back to Jeremy and, eventually, Jeremy's back to her.
Ben still worried that Jeremy would notice Ashley when he would leave the bathroom, but he was relieved when Jeremy ran into a beautiful girl. Ben saw his eyes haze over with affection, causing him to be completely distracted with a blush as he walked back to the table.
Laura noticed Ashley's ex-husband sitting across the room, similar to how Ben had seen Jeremy's ex-wife. She was nervous, too, so she kept Ashley delved inside a conversation about their journey the night before.
When Ana sat down, Laura noticed that she was blushing. Laura hadn't seen the exchange between Ana and Jeremy, so she was curious about what had happened. But, she didn't want to interrupt the conversation that the three of them were going on.
Ashley glanced around the coffee shop as Ana was speaking, her eyes distracted. She spotted Jeremy and immediately began glaring.
"What the hell is he doing here?"
Laura clenched her jaw, feeling like a failure that she hadn't kept Ashley distracted enough.
Ana followed Ashley's eyes, confused as to how she knew the hot man, too. "You know him?" Ana twirled her hair around her finger as a nervous habit, her chest rising with heat.
Ben saw Ashley turn around and noticed the girl from the bathroom beside her. That's gotta be awkward, he widened his eyes.
"Uh, Jeremy?" Ben interrupted his friend, his hands shaking slightly.
"Huh, what?" Jeremy set down his third cup of tea and watched Ben's eyes train on something.
"I-I think we should go-"
Jeremy met eyes with Ana, who blushed and smiled at him. His lips curled up, but dropped down again when he saw who was beside her.
"Yeah, that's a good idea." Jeremy harshly pushed his chair out from under the table, banging it back into place.
Ben made sure to set a reassuring hand on Jeremy's shoulder to guide him out.
"Yeah, I do know him," Ashley scoffed, "That's Jeremy."
"That's Jeremy?" Ana squeaked, her heart catching itself in her throat. She shrunk in her seat and hit down on her lip.
Ana felt incredibly ashamed that her eyes were ogling at Ashley's ex-husband.
And, Jeremy felt excited to have run into Ana, and even more intrigued to her considering she was sitting next to his ex-wife.
Who knew where this would go.

Endsworld
This entire story is basically just me, having seen a piece of art on Tumblr, rereading Gerard Way's The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys and getting an idea that may or may not be a good thing?Set in a futuristic world similar to the one in Killjoys, but a bit less cynical. (If that makes sense)Please note that I've done absolutely no planning for this, have no idea when it will update or where I'm going, and the only ships in it are the ones that are confirmed to be canon. This means only Paultryck and Kim&Katya, whose ship name I don't know, and from what I've heard, Eduardo&Laurel is also canon(?), though I'm not sure if the neighbors will actually be in this much. Again, haven't planned anything! All I can say for sure is I won't kill any of the main cast, and this will revolve around the original four, namely Edd, Tom, Matt and Tord, with pre-The End designs (read as, "I like edgy Tord with darker hair"). Essentially it's their designs from Spares.Rated PG-13 to possibly M depending on where you live for gore/death and swearing-I'm not really one for gruesome details though so I try to keep the gory stuff a bit vague. You can always ask me about how bad it is before reading if you're worried it'll upset you, my inbox is always open.
