Marinette's retold memory

I walk outside the school and realize that it's pouring rain. I'm still rather mad that that stupid Adrien boy is working for Cholè and tried to put gum on my seat, how lame. Though, it did take everything I had now to cry at that moment. What had I ever done to deserve this!

"Hey." It's him. I turn my head in the other direction as not to cry looking at him. "I just wanted you to know that I was only trying to take the chewing gum off your seat, I swear." No, it can't be true. I look back at him and see now that he has a hoodie on. He turns away slightly as he speaks again. "I've never been to school before. I've never had friends. It's all sort of new to me." He turns back to me and smiles, but I don't smile back. Instead I turn my back to him.

"Well if that's true then good luck fitting in and I hope Chloè is an awesome friend."

I hear him sigh and walk off and only then do I start walking home. On the walk home I think back on my day and let myself cry. I can't do this if he's going to help Chloè too.

"After this incident Marinette never developed a crush on Adrien and became a total Jagged Stone fangirl/ groupie instead. The fact that she didn't fall for Adrien resulted in Chloè and Sabrina sitting behind him. Alya and Mari never really had a conversation starter because of this and drifted apart, resulting in them not being friends."

After Ladybug and Chat Noir fight an akuma with the normal relationship between the two (a.k.a. Chat being super flirty)

"So m'lady, would you ever consider going out with me sometime?"

"Sure. Why not, I don't have anything or anyone else."she sighs.

"But after a few dates she starts to become quite fond of Chat and even develops a crush on him. After she realizes this she tells him how she feels, because Ladybug is braver than Marinette, or so she says. Chat suggests that they revile their identities as a way of proving their trust in each other. Surprisingly, Ladybug agrees and they go to an ally, stand back to back and detransform. When they turn around Marinette is shocked and disgusted to see the boy that tried to put gum in her seat, or by his story, remove it. Adrien however is extremely happy with the person he sees but frowns at the look on her face. Marinette takes his frown as disappointment and runs off. Marinette lost all trust in Chat Noir that day, which resulted in the death of both heros, along with Hawk Moth taking over the city of Paris. Hawk Moth ruled the city for months, only to be stopped by the rest of the miraculous holders and the new Ladybug and Chat Noir. Everyone noticed that Marinette had died and was found where Ladybug should have, but nobody knew anything about Chat Noir or Adrien. His class figured Adrien had gone back to homeschooling though. When Hawk Moth is found, they realize that he is extremely depressed as both his son and wife died because of him. Many years ago he and his wife, who was the holder of the peacock miraculous, was killed in a battle while he, the Papillon, was helping Queen Bee and the Jade Turtle. Then, his akuma victim killed Ladybug and Chat Noir, his only son and family left. They took his miraculous, reviling that he was Gabriel Agrestè. Gabriel then publicly confirmed the identities and deaths of Ladybug and Chat Noir during an interview before his trial and said that he buried his son under his favorite tree, a large elm on the corner of the property, in his backyard. The city grieved the deaths of their heroes. The mayor honored them by making burial free for the families and had their headstones engraved to say their superhero names, along with their actual name and a special message reading "here lays one of Paris' heroes that never stop caring or defending us to their death". Gabriel Agrestè was tried and sentenced to life in prison for his actions. Two years into his sentence, he died in his cell. " A woman finished telling her 2 children.

"Mommy is that who we're named after?" The little girl pipes up as she looks to her twin brother next to her.

"Yes Mari. Your father named your brother and you after our childhood best friends and secret heroes, Marinette Dupen-Chang and Adrien Agrestè."

"Alya I wish you wouldn't tell them that story. After all they're only 7." Says the man leaning on the doorframe with his arms crossed.

"Nino I have to tell them. Adrien asked who they were when to the cemetery today. Anyway, off to sleep with you two." Alya smiles at the children as they run to their rooms for bed.

"It is that day, huh?" Nino says sadly as he walks over and sits on the couch next to his wife.

"Yes. As of to day they've been dead 13 years." Alya leans in as he wraps his arm around her.

Today we payed our respects to their graves in our civilian form and tonight we will do the same as our hero forms, along with the other heroes and newest generation of Chat Noir and Ladybug. This generation grew up with Adrien and Marinette saving them and now they are doing the saving. Sometimes I'm unsure about them, but then again, aren't we all?

"I can't believe they were only 19..."

"So is Sabrina and Max watching the kids tonight?" Nino finally says after a long silence.

"Yes, they'll be here very soon and they know the door is unlocked. Chloè said that her husband was working tonight so their watching her kid too. I think they're bringing him here too."

"Well then Volpina, shall we get ready to go?" Nino asks as he stands up and offers his hand to Alya.

"Of course Jade Turtle, if you can keep up that is." Alya says with a giggle as she takes his hand and gets up. She transforms and runs to the window and disappears into the night.

"Master, you do realize that she's a fox right?" Nino's kuami questions.

"Yes, I know she's quite beautiful." Nino replies dreamily.

"That's not what I meant. Turtles live to be hundreds of years old, while foxes barely make it past 15. She will most likely die long before you do and so will your children. You will more than likely live to be 200, she will not." His kwami says with his head hung. "I'm very sorry."
