Chapter 34

Aurora's POV

I kept my eyes open for the number '382' as we drove down the busy Downtown streets. Caine and I wasted no time looking for Jim Edwards's office building in the hopes that we can get the territory papers from Edwards. I was hopeful that he would give it to us without a fight or issue, and if worst came to worst, I was willing to snap his neck to obtain the papers. My people needed me, and I was going to do everything in my power to get them.

Caine saw how tense I must have been as he squeezed my thighs. I give him a smirk and he shook his head.

"What is it?" I ask.

His lips turn upward with a smile, his eyes never leaving the road. "I love seeing you like this. The look of determination in your eyes is a turn-on. You are out here acting like an Alpha, making it happen for your pack. Nah, you are an Alpha already."

I couldn't help but smile when I heard him say that to me. He was not kidding and he was right. I was going to do anything and everything in my power to obtain those papers. After making a few turns, we finally found the office building. Wasting no time, I quickly made my way and open the doors. The front desk girl gets up from her seat and greets me." "Welcome to Jim Edwards-"

"Tell Edwards that I am here for the papers-"

The secretary looked confused, then she looked terrified when she saw Caine walk in. He stood behind me and was glaring down at her.

"Excuse me-" she asked confused as she looked back and forth between Caine and I.

"Girl now I know you heard me because I ain't repeating myself," I spoke calmly but still with authority.

She looked at me up and down before nodding and leaving to find him.

After a few seconds of her disappearing, I heard something hit the ground in the distance and I turn my head towards where the sound came from. I remembered Caines training on my Lycan hearing and I focused. I felt someone's heart beating quickly as well as the smell of fear.

Caine does the same as we are both looking at each other while trying to figure out what is happening.

"We should go after her" Caine suggests calmly.

"Good idea," I say as we walk to Jim's office, we follow the scent of the secretary. It wasn't so difficult to follow since she smelled strongly of perfume. The door to his office was closed. I look at Caine and he nods his head quickly. I step back as he reaches to open the door. It sounded too quiet.

He opens the door and we find the secretary on the floor. I checked to see if she had a pulse and lucky she did. Then we hear a noise behind the wall to our left.

"He is running," Caine says as he looks around the room. "There has to be a door here somewhere since the place has no windows."

"How do you know all of this?" I ask as I look around too. He raises an eyebrow at me and I shrug my shoulders. "What? I am ignorant about this secret spying and secrets hideouts things."

"My father's office was like this. When the office has no windows, it's because there is a hidden getaway passage that serves as a shelter or escape route. And he is a lawyer, I am sure that he uses it a lot. Here! I found it" Caine says as he pulls a book that served as a latch.

We step back as the bookshelves open towards us, revealing a secret passage. The stairs lead up and we waste no time in going up. Caine was in front of me and I was close behind, keeping an eye behind us. The stairs went all the way up to what looked like a rooftop. Caine tries to open the door but it was locked. He looks at me and I take a few steps back. With one kick movement, he kicks the door down as it falls forward, making a loud thud. Dust picked up from the door falling, we wait a few seconds before walking out.

We were now on a rooftop, there were broken boxes and moldy cardboard boxes thrown all over the floor.

We turn around to find Ally holding on to Jim as they walked backward away from us.

"Step back!"

Jim was holding on to a brown leather briefcase, I guessed that was where the papers were at. Or else why would he be holding them

"What the fuck are you doing here?" I bare my teeth at her Caine and I begin to circle her.

Ally smirks as he pulled Jim tighter to her. He was looking like he was going to pass out at any second. Jim was already a very pale man, but he now looked almost translucent.

Caine growled and I took a few steps forward so that I was next to him.

"Let go of him!" I growled and she growled back.

Ally smirked. "I will when he hands over the papers for the territory"

Jim raises up a hand to speak. When everyone looks at him he lowers his hand. "What papers-"

"Oh don't play stupid, you know exactly what papers we are talking about" Ally threatens and he clutches the briefcase closer to his leg.

We had to think of something fast because Ally could be capable of anything right now. And she needed those papers. We had our rules, but when it came to the territory, we had to abide by the rules of the humans, If those papers ended up in the wrong hands, we could lose our lands forever.

"Aura, is this man a good person?"

"He and Victor were good friends and would usually drink together, but I don't know the extent of their friendship. Why do you ask?"

"Because we might have to make a sacrifice here, today."

"I don't think that it's a good idea, Caine, Jim is human."

"What do you wish to do then Princess, it's your call."

I watched his back flex. Telling me that he was ready for whatever orders I would give. I knew that he would not hesitate to kill. Should we make the sacrifice and just lash out.

Ally noticed that we were mind linking and she pressed her nails hard on his neck, drawing blood. Jim cried in pain and I wanted to lash out at her. Fuck!

"Let's kill her right now."

"As you wish Princess, let me be your shield" He spoke out loud as he looked at me, a huge malicious grin appeared on his lips as his eyes turned the color of crimson red.

He looked at Ally and speeds runs towards her. Ally looked shocked when she saw Caine running to her. She quickly turns to Jim and tried to grab the briefcase from him. Ally manages to grab the briefcase but Caine was already lunging himself at her, the briefcase flew out of her hands and landed a few feet away from them.

Jim was still on the floor looking stunned as he sees Caine and Ally growling and snapping aggressively at each other. I used the opportunity and ran to grab the briefcase. I was close to grabbing it when I felt arms around me and my body gets tackled to the ground. My head hits the dusty floor and I knew that was going to leave a mark on my face. I react quickly and turn my body to my attacker.

Jim was holding me down with his eyes looking crazy.

"You can't have that!'

"Fuck you!" I cursed at him with all my might before I elbow him in the face, hitting him on his nose. He lets out a few curses as his arms loosen around me so that he can hold his bleeding nose. I made a run for it again and grabbed the briefcase.

"Run to the car!" Caine's mind links and I nod.

I try to run but Jim gets up and grabs me by the ankles, making me lose my balance. I almost hit my face on the ground but I turn quick and kick his chest as hard as I can so that he can let go of my leg.

Jim was strong, but I was stronger.

"Stop!" I yell, "I don't want to hurt you!" I yell as I keep on kicking him on his chest and shoulders and face but it was useless because he wasn't letting go.

Caine was still struggling with Ally and I know that I had to act quick because we had buildings all around us and it was only a matter of time until someone called the cops, making the situation worst for us.

I get up and toss the briefcase away from us. Jim was on his feet now, his back arched and with a knife in his hands.

"You will not have those papers, no one will!" Jim shouts angrily as he runs towards me, the knife in his hands aiming straight at me.

My intent wasn't to kill, but if this was the only way so be it.

I brace myself for him as he gets closer, I put one foot back and arched my back, as soon as he got in range. I grabbed the wrist where he held the knife and twisted it as hard as I could, the knife as it was still on his hand, digs into his chest. Blood starts to come out immediately, staining his white shirt, it wasn't long until it starts to come out of his mouth. Jim struggles to breathe as he falls to his knees, before collapsing on the ground.

How I wish that it didn't have to go like this. But I had no choice. Anyone that came at me with the intent to hurt me, my pack, or my family. They will meet death.

Wasting no time, I grab the briefcase and turn around to see Caine and Ally still struggling.

Ally cries out before she lashes at Caine, scratching his face in the process. It must have hurt him as he lets go of her and she gets up. She runs towards me and I was ready.

This is the moment that I was waiting for. I promised myself that I was going to rip her to pieces when I grabbed a hold of her and that is what I was going to do. I didn't care if she was bigger, or stronger, I was not scared. I now had a wolf and a Lycan inside of me. I was going to kill her three times today. I tossed the briefcase again and braced one more time for her. My fangs and claws were out, and so were hers. She was the first one to throw a punch and I ducked down dodging it.

"You are dead if you think that I am going to let go of those territory papers." Ally mutters as she keeps on throwing punches at me and I continued to dodge every one of them. It was until she twists and threw a kick at me that made contact with my stomach. The sharp pain knocked the wind out and I felt like I couldn't breathe for a few seconds.

I grunted in pain as I stumbled back a bit, I kept my balance and she growled as she continued her attacks.

My wolf was sensing Caine growing uncomfortable and I could tell that he wanted to jump in, but he knew that this was my fight.

Not only did I have my wolf begging me to transform, I now had the Lycan in my head urging me to let her out. With the Lycans help, I could easily beat her, but I wanted to wait to unleash both my wolf and Lycan.

I grinned and Ally growled, she was clearly annoyed with me and that is what I wanted. To get her mad and have her lose her cool. Someone that ran with anger was prone to lose their cool and mess up and that is what I wanted. "You have been looking kinda shitty lately Ally, what is it? things are not going according to plan?" I taunted.

Ally's eyes were looking wild, and yellow. She let out a growl as she ran towards me again. I got ready as my claws elongated and I straighten my fingers, my hand like a sharp blade right now and I was ready to cut through her. That's when she jumps and throws a kick at me hitting me on the shoulder.

"Let me in!" my Lycan shouted inside my head and I gave in.

My body immediately started to react to the Lycan taking over and immediately felt the power rushing through my veins. I thank my Lycan as I felt my eyes burn for a bit from the power and pain that I was putting my body through.

Ally was going to say something but she didn't finish as my fist collided with her face, sending her flying back. She gets up quickly and dashes towards me. I stood my ground as she throws a few punches that land on my face.

"Block!" Caine shouts but he stops when he sees me smirk.

"I want to see what my Lycan can do now," I say in a sultry voice as I look at Caine before looking at Ally again. She gulped and I knew that she was scared by the way that she was looking at me, her heart was beating fast too.

This is what she wanted me to become when she and Victor injected me with the virus, she should have taken the virus too so that she could fight with me. "What happened? Did you think that you and I would be going head to head? you should have thought of that possibility before you helped in injecting me." I said in a matter-of-fact voice before I flashed run to her. I was now in front of her and her eyes grew wide in surprise. I head but her and she stumble back before charging at me. I didn't see it but I felt it. I look down and watch as she digs a knife into my side. I howl in pain but that's when I felt it happen.

There was this sudden rush of adrenaline, I could not feel the pain but there was a burning sensation coming from the wound. I let out a soft sign as I feel the sensation spreading through my body. Ally looks stunned and her eyes open wide when I grab the hand where she is holding the knife. I twist her wrist and I feel the knife twist inside of me but there was no pain. She looks down at her hand and up at me as I held on to a smile.

"What the fuck, let go of me you freak!"

"Freak?' I question in a soft voice. "This is my power now babe. I bet you wish you hadn't put the idea on Victor's head to inject me huh?" I laughed. She tried to pull her hand back but I was too strong and I held it in place. She looked terrified and I was loving it.

Ally struggled to get her hand free and she tried to punch me in the face with her other hand, which I caught. I head-butted her again and she yelped in pain.

I could tell that she was losing her shit and fast and I was going to help with that. She started to hyperventilate and tears were rolling down her eyes.

"Why did you turn on Caine and your pack huh?" I asked and noticed that Caine got closer to us when I asked this. I was getting a kick out of this. The way she was looking at me, her terrified expression. She was tiny now compared to me. Someone that let the hate in her heart blind her into causing her destruction and death. Pups died because of her, innocent humans and werewolves died because of her and Victor.

Mercy will not be shown today.

Ally struggled and shouted all kinds of curse words at me and I just held her in place. I felt my blood flowing down my left leg but I didn't care. I wasn't feeling any pain and I was going to hold her there in place until I got all the answers that we needed from her.

My annoyance had started to creep in so I let my fangs elongate and I bare my teeth at her.

"And am I supposed to be scared of that?' She asks with a smirk, but that smirk was gone when I pulled her to me and sank my teeth into the left side of her neck. She screamed in pain as I sank my teeth even deeper into her. From what Caine had told me, the bite of a Lycan was fatal to a werewolf, and I wasn't sure if she knew of this. Pulling back, I spat her blood out since I wanted no trace of her in my system.

"Okay, so how about we go for an easier question then...What was my father's plan?"

"Victor was a fucking nut job, and the only reason he took the virus was because I gave it to him."

"Did he know of the virus?"

She stayed silent and I puller her to me again and bit her fast, this time, it was closer to her jugular and she froze. I let go of her, I knew that the virus was now traveling through her body as her skin began to look paler.

"Let me ask you again-"

"No! he didn't know. The only reason he found out was because I had told him, your father was just selling young girls into the sex trade, that idiot had no idea of the virus, he had no intentions of taking over the world, he just wanted to make money worldwide with women and drugs."

Caine then steps closer to us. Ally looks away and I had the feeling that this was more personal than anything.

"So why did YOU give Victor the virus?" I asked again growing impatient with her. My Lycan was begging me to just rip her neck apart but I needed a few more answers from her.

"As fucking payback, because I knew that this was going to drive him crazy" she spat as she looks at Caine. "I was supposed to have been your Luna, I wanted to have pups with you, I wanted to raise hell alongside you. I was the one that was there for you through it all and then you leave for The Games and you didn't say anything until you came home with her!" Ally screamed the last part. "You used me!"

"No, I didn't. You knew right from the start that we could no be anything else because I wanted to find my mate and I told you to focus on finding yours. You wanted power and to overtake other packs and I told you that I was not going to do that because I was not like my father!" Caine shouted and Ally growled at him. I pull her to me and the blood that was coming out was now covering her hand and the end of her long sleeve. She looked down in disgust and I smirked.

"Whatever!" She growled. "The hate that I felt in my heart for you and this bitch! how not only it was you, but she had another mate. So the plan at first was to kill Caine so that she would go with Thaddeus but that didn't work out. Then came Lena and her stupid self ruined the plan for me, that's when I went to Victor and told him that you were plotting on exposing him and his trafficking and that is how I managed to get him in. That man was happy to get rid of you once and for all. And I was down with that but then he took back his word and said that he wasn't going to let me handle his pack grounds here."

"So that was when you were plotting on killing Victor?" I was not surprised at anything that she was saying. I expected as much from someone that held on to so much hate in their hearts.

"Yes! but your fucking junkie and pill-addicted mother killed him first!" She shouted in my face and that was where I drew the line. I didn't want to know anything else.

It was so fast that I even surprised myself. I pulled the knife out of me and quickly twisted her arm, aiming the knife at her, and digging it into her throat as I twisted it a couple of times. Blood was now coming out of her mouth and nose and she started to choke on it. I let go of her and she falls to the ground. Her body begins to shake and I just stand there looking at her as her life slips away.

Caine rushes to me before taking off his shirt so that he could cover up my wound that was pouring more blood now.

All of this, all of what had happened was because of her. Because she was jealous of me and she wanted to make me pay. Things could have been more difently for her. If she had just waited for her mate, if she would have just let go of the hate and focused on herself. She probably would have found her mate by now and she could have been happy. But no. All of this happened because of hate.

Ally was still alive as Caine checks up on me. I was still halfway transformed into my Lycan but I was growing tired and I knew that I had to switch back into my human form. I relax into Caines touch and let Lycan go back, it wasnt long after the pain hits me like a ton of bricks. "Ugh!" I grunt as my legs grow weak and I felt like I was going to pass out but I took a few deep breaths even if it was hurting from the stab wound.

I get out of Caines hold and walk over to the briefcase. "Aurora let me handle that-"

Ignoring what he had to say, I grab the briefcase and open it. There was only one single red folder in there. Caine stands next to me, his hand covers my wound tight. "Are those the papers that you need?" He asks as he focuses on the stopping the bleeding. I winced in pain but that didnt stop me from opening the folder.
