Chapter 42

Thaddeus POV

We had no bloody idea what was going on.

The man began to look at his free hand as it was glowing, he looked confused as to what was happening. As the man takes notice of his new glow, he begins to act funny in a way when he looks at his hands. Everyone murmured as they watched him.

Tharas brows furrowed as she looked at the man. My little girl had the scowl, just like her mother and I knew that she understood what was happening as if she understood that the man who was holding her wanted to hurt her.

But then what she did next left everyone speechless even myself. Her eyes began to glow a bright blue as she still held her angry scowl. The man and Thara looked at each other for a good ten seconds before he slowly put her down on the ground. Then he took a few steps back, he begins to glow more blue to the point that you couldn't see him as a blueish haze started to form around him, and that's when we began to feel the warmth coming from the man.

"My baby, she is doing that?" Aurora whispers.

"Looks like it...Caine, when she distances herself more, initiates the attack. I have my men on the other side of the gates waiting to kill the man's friends" I reply. Caine nods and so does Aurora. As stunned and shocked that I was about my daughter having supernatural superpowers, we had to think about her safety, since we didn't know what they wanted from her.

The now glowing man looks at his hands before he starts to scream. The warm blue light seems to be burning him. His friends take a few steps back as they look at each other, not sure of what to do to save their friend from the burning blue light as small streaks of blue flames surrounded the man. The agonizing screams were terrifying as we all watched as it became brighter and brighter. I used the opportunity to get closer to my daughter as she was still looking at him angrily with her shining blue eyes.

"Thara, baby" I call out to her and she turns to me, her eyes still bright. She smiles at me and that's when her eyes change back to their normal color. She giggles as she reaches up to her tiny little arms for me to pick her up. I quickly swop her into my arms and she closes her small little arms around my neck and embraces me. I fought back tears as she hugged me tightly.

"Dada, I'm sowwy" she mumbles softly with tiny tears in her eyes.

"Shhhh" I comfort her. "You did nothing wrong baby, you are so strong though! How did you do that?" I made sure to sound cheerful since she was already scared enough with tonight's events. Thara shrugged her little arms as she bit her finger. I kissed her forehead before handing her over to Aurora who hugged her tight as she cried softly.

Caine orders Travis and a few other warriors to follow their Luna into the house and to make sure that she was safe with the pups before standing next to me as we both watch the man burn, his body completely covered in blue flames. In the distance, the man's friends started to run into their cars but we weren't going to let that happen.

Our men were ready and they wanted blood as we all watched the men speed away from the gates and start driving away fast. Caine and I give each other a look before our eyes change color and we make a run after the cars, our warriors following behind, they howled and growled from excitement. These criminals broke into our home, tried to kill our pups...no one was going to escape this alive.

I channel my wolf's speed as I catch up with the second car, I look up to find Caine on the first car. He lifts his fist up in the air before bringing it down with such a force that the tires to the car popped and start to hydroplane before losing control and hitting a tree head-on. Caine jumped off the car before it crashed. I focus and try to do the same to the car whose roof I am standing on but shots fire from the inside. I evade them quickly and focus again as I smash my fist down. The car loses control and I jump off of it before it rolls down the cliff into the deep ravine.

Caine meets up with me before he taps my shoulder. "We are going to have to question those men down there, I think I killed the ones that were inside that car that I was on, and our warriors over there" he points, "Tore those guys that were in the third car into little bloody pieces."

I nod before we both jump high until we land on the bottom of the ravine. There was a small creek that was running on the far end of the ravine, the only sound that could be heard was that of frogs and crickets and the sound of the water running, and now our heavy boots as we walked on the rocks. One of the guys was crawling out of the vehicle while there were three other ones still inside the car. The car was upside down and they were all hanging upside down as well, only being held by their seat belts. Caine grabs the guy that was crawling by the neck and he lifts him up high into the air. His legs dangle and shake as his blood circulation and his oxygen are getting cut thanks to Caine's stronghold.

Caine turns the man's face, his whole dangling body moving as he tries to get a closer look at him. He sniffs the man and his nose shrivels. "This piece of shit is a human" Caine pulls the man away from his face as if that was the worst smell he has ever smelled.

Using my strength, I turn the car over on its wheels. The man that was inside looked shocked as I moved effortlessly. My hands reach inside for the man in the passenger seat as I rip the seat belts and I pull him out, throwing him on the floor.

We hear other footsteps around us, it was our warriors as they watch us quietly, waiting for orders.

"Fuck you" The man spat at Caine. Caine's eyes glow red as he squeezes the guy's neck. Blood began to come out of the man's mouth. I quickly grab the guy that I dragged out of the car and I turn him so that he can see Caine.

"You see this right here, we will make your brains come out of her eyes, your ears, your mouth, and your asshole if you don't tell us what your little friend was doing in our home trying to kill our pups!." I sounded calm but I was far from it.

The man in front of me was small compared to the other guy, I could sense that he was scared. He shook his head and I grab him by the ears and I pull on to them hard. I could smell blood, I already had him bleeding.

"No-stop, please" the man begged.

"So start talking," I said impatiently, my hold still tight on his ear. "I am trying to be nicer than my brother over there," I say as I look at Caine as the guy that he was holding starts to turn purple. "Damn Caine don't kill him yet"

Caine looks at me with a smile before he rips the man's head off. Blood spilled all over his face.

The man that I was holding on to shuts his eyes close as he watches the bloody scene in front of me unfold. "You guys are hunters arent yall?" The man's eyes grow wide when he hears me say those words. I push him back and he stumbles until he hits Caine's chest.

The man screams as he moves away from Caine, who was completely covered in blood.

I was growing impatient with all of this. "Caine, kill him," I say as Caines smirk grows wicked before he starts to take a few steps forward towards the guy.

"No! Stop!" The guy pleas as he puts his hands up in defense. We- uh- we are werewolf hunters, we got a call from someone...we don't know the name yet but they paid our boss five million dollars to kill your kids." The man spoke fast. Caine growls loudly the man trembled in his spot. "We were just ordered to bring Ridik back when he was done killing them. We don't know any more details."

"So the guy that could have given us the answers was killed by my daughter?" I ask as I run my hand through my hair.

I mindlink my men and have them drag out the last two guys that were in the car. They kicked and screamed and tried to get away but that was no use. "I feel as if there is more-"

"No, there isn't, I just told you the truth." the man that I let go spoke surely. I wanted to believe him but, I had to make an example as I knew that there was more to this.

With one nod of my head, my man takes out a knife and he drags it across the human's neck. The man fell down on the ground, gagging as he was trying to breathe but he couldn't as blood was now drowning him.

"If you don't tell us everything, your other friend here will die just like that"

"They were werewolves!" the man that was now in between Caine and I yelled. Caine walks up to the other guy that my man was holding on to and with one quick movement he kills the guy that my man was holding hostage.

I said nothing as Caine turned around to face the last human guy as he now stood in front of us. He had pissed his pants, quite literally. It was disgusting, he had to drink more water.

"Why would werewolf hunters be working with werewolves?" Caine asks sounding irritated.

"I asked the same damn thing, her name was Dara, she is a werewolf. She was older, very old, small, with bright white hair. She said something about a prophecy or something. Said that the Moon Goddess made a mistake, but that was all, Our boss didn't care about any of that pup talk, he just wanted the information to your pack."

Caine grabbed the man by his shoulders and he leaned down, the man was a bit shorter than us. "I want you to go back and tell your boss about what happened here. Tell him everything, and tell that werewolf bitch, that we are coming for her head. "

The young human man didn't need to get told twice as he looks around frantically before he started to run, disappearing into the dark woods. Caine orders two of his men to follow behind at a distance.

"Dara? that sounds oddly familiar," I said.

"It is familiar" Caine replies back. "It's the old hag that hosts The Games."

It was already dawn when we arrived back at our home. Aurora was waiting out on the front doorsteps, with guards all around her. Her long black hair was flowing beautifully behind her as she stood there waiting for us in Caines button-down white T-shirt that showed her beautiful nipples and she was wearing my large grey pants. She looked so beautiful even when she was wearing her best-worried look.

Her eyes scanned Caines bloody self and she looks at me. "What the hell happened out there?"

I pull her inside before locking the doors. Caine said nothing as he made his way up the stairs to clean up.

"Thaddeus, say something!" Aurora begged.

I sat down on the sofa and I pull her to sit down on my lap, she does so and I smile as I bury my face in her hair. "Don't ask me anything right now, please" I begged almost sounding in a whisper. "How is Thara doing?"

Aurora sat quietly on my lap, she was quiet for a few seconds. "Thara fell asleep while I was giving her a bath, and Bjorn fell asleep a good twenty minutes before you guys got here. Thaddeus, I had no idea that she was able to do that...She lit up a man on fire...from nothing...she did it with her own little hands as if it was magic...werewolves don't have powers like that."

"I am just as shocked as you are, I am hoping to get answers soon from Dara before we kill her since she seemed so fixated on

"Where are you going?" Aurora asks as she stands up.

"To kill Dara."

Aurora freezes in her spot. "Dara? the lady from the games?"

Caine nods. "It makes perfect sense, I don't know if you remember but, we almost didn't leave the games alive that night"

What Caine said was the truth. That night after we found Aurora as our mate, we had werewolves after us, trying to stop us from getting Aurora, and even chased us way out of the territory. We also never found out who was after us that night. One thing we know for sure was that it wasn't Aurora's crazy fake father. It was Dara.

Aurora stood silent as if she was contemplating something.

"Call Laurel and my mother so that they can watch the kids, I'm going with you."

Caine nods before turning away to the door. The warriors that Caine and Thaddeus called to assist us in the hunt were waiting for us outside the doors, in that moment, Laurel and Aurora's mom was just getting there.

"Go kill them, bastards." Laurel cursed as she speeds walk past us to head inside the house, Aurora's mother right behind us as she nods our way.

We got in the cars as it would be faster to get to Dara's territory than running in our wolf form.

It didn't take us long to get there but when we did, all of our warriors were there and they already had Dara in front of her house. She was wearing a white robe that hugged her small fragile frame as she stared at us with a shocked expression on her face.

"Dara, how have you been?" Caine says as he walks closer to her, stopping just a few feet from her. She places her small hand on her chest as if she was trying to get her heart to calm down. He started circling her slowly like a predator that was stalking his prey.

Aurora stepped up and faced Dara as Caine was right behind her. "Judging by your expression, I guess you know why we are here."

Dara looked around as if she was looking at someone for help. "No, no, don't start screaming now. I heard, from a little birdy that you sent some people to try to kill my pups."

Dara lifted her hand to her chest once again, her eyes looked like they wanted to pop out of her face.

"Stop with the act Dara, I am pretty sure that you weren't acting like this when you were ordering a hit on my pups!" I growled lowly as I fast stepped towards her.

She shook her head fast. "You don't get it, those pups should have never been born. They are cursed! Especially the baby girl. Their existence means the destruction of our race! They need to die- ugh!"

I happened fast Aurora was in front of Dara, with her clawed hand inside Dara's stomach, while Caine's clawed hand came out of Dara's chest, her heart on his hand, blood was dripping down from the heart, staining the white bathrobe.

"There will be others whose sole purpose is to kill those pups. And they will not stop until they are dead. They all swore an oath to save our species, from the plague that are your pups" Dara coughed before she spat out.

My wolf was asking for blood at this point, so I gave it to him. I grew out my claws before slashing Dara's neck, while Caine and Aurora were still attached to her. We all took our claws and hands out and we watch as Dara's lifeless body falls on the ground.

One by one we all get into our cards. One of the warriors handed us towels to clean up the blood on our hands. I get into the driver's seat and Caine sits in the passenger seat, Aurora was on the back seat, leaning over as she was looking at both of us.

We drove in silence for a few minutes before Aurora broke the silence. " A cult would be after our pups, trying to kill them when they get the chance, and for what?! A fucking prophesy!" I felt Aurora's pain through our connection. Caine turns to her and grabs her and.

"No one will touch our children, I promise you that. We will figure out how to help Thara with her Power and keep Bjorn monitored to see if he shows any signs like his sister did." Caine said as he kissed Aurora's hand.

I reach for her hand and squeezed. "We will protect them and teach them about their powers, help them in any way we can, and teach them how to protect themselves. That is the most important thing that we can do for them." I said as I gripped the steering wheel.

Caine reached over and caressed Aurora's face. "They got another prophecy coming...and it will be our wrath."
