Aurora
As I was told, Lorenzo has important business to handle today. He made sure that dropping me off would be the last thing he was going to do, and that it'll be the last time we see each other. A part of me felt hurt by what he said but I wouldn't let him see that his words affected me. I don't think that I properly told him "thank you" for saving me. We sat in the backseat of the window tinted, blacked out Suburban truck.
Two of the same trucks were behind and in front of us as we pulled off, away from the mansion that I was just recovering in. Looking out of the window, I noticed there were guards posted all around the estate. The beautiful mansion covered in black marble and the inside showed the same.
I started to wonder what a man like Lorenzo does to make this much money. I've never seen a house like this, just in the magazines my dad used to read. He would always say,
Maybe Lorenzo does something illegal to make money. Maybe he bought this truck with dirty money. Who fucking knows. I don't want to judge anyone without knowing their story first. "Lorenzo?" I quietly called out his name. A part of me hoped that he wouldn't hear me but I've already said his name. There's no turning back now. I looked back at him to find him already looking at me. I didn't want him to get offend by my question so I took some time to spit it out.
"What ?" My name rolled smoothly off his tongue like butter and I stuck my tongue out to wet my lips. I noticed his eyes darted to my lips as he watched my every movement. This wasn't the time or the place to do this and I had to get ahold of myself.

"What do you do for a living?"
"I'm the ceo of Davis Enterprise." My mind started to race as I looked back on the day I got assaulted. Before my shift was over, the lady told me that she works at Davis Enterprise. Now it all makes sense. Isn't that a coincidence?
"What's on your mind?" I bit my lip as I tried to get my thoughts under control.
"The day.... that everything happened, I was at work. Before I left, a lady I think by the name of Desiree told me that she works for you. Well she didn't necessarily say your name but she did say Davis Enterprise. I just find it to be crazy that you're the ceo and you saved me. It's a coincidence when you think about it right?" He seemed to be enjoying my rambling as his eyebrow raised.
"You talk a lot for someone that's supposed to be in pain." I sat back in my seat as I turned away from him. You know the feeling of talking about something important to you just to have someone comment that you're talking a lot? Am I talking too much? Should I just have stayed quiet? I don't like the feeling that's going through my body right now. Someone saying that just makes you want to stop talking all together. You don't even make a peep after, or even a loud breath.
Maybe I'm like this because of the way I grew up. Whenever I was happy about something or something important came to mind, I would ramble until I had nothing else to say. The other option would be that someone would cut me off, and say that I'm talking too much. Which resulted in me talking less until I stopped talking completely.

"I'm just glad that I was there." He spoke out after five minutes of silence. I didn't look at him but I could feel his eyes on me.
"Thank you for saving me." My eyes stayed on the window as the driver continued on his path. Another question came to mind and I knew I had to ask.
"Where are we going?"
"I'm dropping you off." My eyebrows raised.
"How do you know where I live?" His phone started to ring and he answered without giving me an answer to my question. A part of me felt like I wasn't going to get an answer so I just let it go. I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable at the fact that he must've went through my things. Wait a minute.... Fuck!
"Do you have my bag? All of my things were in there." I started to panic as I forgot to grab it from the room. I don't remember it being in there in the first place anyway. He didn't answer as he continued to have his conversation. I just hope that he has my bag. I don't know what I'll do without my things. My phone started to ping and took me out of my rambling mind.
"Fuck." I muttered to myself as I really wanted to slap myself. How could I forget? My math teacher has had it out for me since the first day of school. That bitch doesn't like me. I started to shake my leg as I noticed the car turning onto my street. I could feel my heart racing but there was no turning back. I'm sure my mother is probably waiting for me at the door.
"What's wrong?" Lorenzo suddenly asked and I looked at him. Tears started to swell up in my eyes but I continued to blink to get them away. I forced a small smile on my face just to not give anything away.
"Nothing's wrong." I'm sure he could tell that something was off but he didn't ask anything else. Once we pulled up to my house, I could feel my stomach drop into my ass. I was about to grab the handle until Lorenzo stopped me.
"Here's your bag." He handed me as I grabbed ahold of it. I didn't want to leave but he's a stranger to me. A stranger that saved you. I slowly took my bag out of his hands as I looked back at the once life filled house. Taking ahold of the handle, I looked back at him.
"Thank you once again. I really appreciate it." I said honestly and genuinely. He gave me a small smile as he nodded his head. I got out of the truck as I closed the door and walked slowly towards the stairs. Reaching into my bag, I grabbed the house key and opened the door. Making it inside, I gave one last look at Lorenzo's truck before closing the door. Through the peephole, I saw his truck pull off along with the other ones.
"You want to tell me why you weren't at school today?"
