"Do you remember anything?" Fury asked me.
I nodded my head, fiddling with the ball point black pen between my fingers.
"Vulture said that the sinister six was going to take over the city. What I don't understand is, there's only five guys."
"You said you saw Kraven take your brother. There's six. Maybe he's the last member." Fury sighed heavily, slumping even deeper into the metal hospital chair.
I shook my head vigorously, "No. They're working for someone. I heard them say their boss needs me alive."
"Perfect reason why Peter would be the sixth member. They have your brother and are going to use him to bait you out to kill you." Fury leaned forward, his one brown eye staring at me intensely.
"Even if he is, Peter wouldn't join them!" I hissed.
"And if they threatened your life he would. That boy looks up to you and will do whatever it takes to keep you safe!" Fury told me with a cold edge to his tone.
I tossed my notebook across the room, hearing it hit the glass wall with a thud before dropping to the floor. Pain shot through my entire body, my teeth grinding together as my cheeks got hot. I was embarrassed as the searing pain soon went away with the morphine drip. How could I have been so careless and gotten hurt? How could I have just let them take Peter away?
"I can't lose Peter too." I whispered as if it was our little secret. Afraid that this information would break me if it got into the wrong hands. I guess it was too late for that. I was broken, and the scars were so deep they showed on my skin.
"I know." Nick said standing up, walking to where my notebook was and bending over with a grunt. He grabbed the yellow notebook in his hand before placing back in front of me on the pull out table. "Get some rest."
Fiddling with the pen again I opened the notepad to a fresh new page, the lines aching for me to spill my thoughts. To rip myself open and let the pain and hurt bleed through like an ink stain.
Uncapping the ball point pen with my teeth, the point hovered over the white page. With a sigh I began writing.
There was Vulture, Kraven, Mysterio, Electro, and Sandman. They all had one thing in common and that was to kill me and take over the city. But why?
And then there was Herman Shultz, or Shocker. He escaped with them too and started robbing banks like he was in desperate need for money. The other were off the grid while he was doing this, and then as soon as I stop him, they come and attack. Were they working together? Was Shocker the sixth member of the sinister six? Or was I just overthinking everything.

Groaning my head hit the soft hospital pillow as I took the pen cap from my mouth and placed it back on. My eyes scanned the different needles going in my flesh, staring at the scar I had on my forearm from my lips pressed into a thin line. It was an angry red embedded deep down to the bone. You could see very well where the arrow head lodged itself inside, making the scar look like a x.
"Hey Maria." I pressed the button on the side of my bed, speaking into the coms SHEILD installed some time ago.
"Yeah?" Her voice echoed around the glass room. I swear I felt like a fucking animal in the zoo.
"Can you grab me my mask?"
"Umm sure. I'll be right there."
I took my finger off the button as the gears in my head kept turning. Maybe there was a clue on the arrow somewhere that could tell me where my brother was.
The mechanic door slid open as Maria and Fury walked in, my black spider mask in her hand.
"Here you go." She handed me the small part of my suit. I took the mask in her hands, feeling the fabric encase my head as I put it on.
"What exactly are you doing, y/l/n?" Fury asked in his usual tone.
"Peter and I had an idea to put a small hard drive and a video recorder in our masks so that we could record the things we do while we're out in the city. We needed Starks help to put it in, but I want to know what kind of arrow was shot at me. It could potentially hold some sort of clue." I explained.
"FRIDAY, access yesterday's video file and skip to the part where the arrow hit me." I said into my mask.
"Accessing video file." The female robot said, yesterday's video appearing inside my mask.
"Stop right there. FRIDAY, enhance the image."
"Enhancing image."
The screen got larger as it focused in on the black arrow that had shot me.
"Anything?" Maria asked after a few moments.
"I swear I've seen this arrow before. FRIDAY I need you to scan this arrow and see if you can trace it back to anything."
"One moment."
A loading screen appeared as the small bar began to fill up till it was all green. A background check came up on Doctor Octavius and my eyebrows rose in surprise.
"Search complete." FRIDAY said.
"This... this doesn't make any sense." I stuttered, reading the lines of texts over and over again.
"What did you find?" Fury asked this time, his boots thumping against the tiled floor as he got closer to my bed.
"FRIDAY traced the arrow back to Doctor Octavius."

"The one guy you were working with?!" Maria gasped in surprise.
I nodded my head, "Yeah. I've never seen these before. What does a doctor need with sticky arrows?"
"FRIDAY broadcast the image on the wall. I want to see." Fury said loudly.
"Well I'll be damned. Guess he's not just a scientist after all." Maria chuckled bitterly.
"You know what that means?" Fury looked at Maria.
"We're going to investigate?"
"Damn right." He replied.
"I'm coming with you." I pulled the mask over my head.
"No the fuck you are not!" Fury looked at me like I was stupid.
"You don't even know where the lab is!" I defended.
"FRIDAY find Doctor Octavius' lab."
"Searching. Search complete. Sending you the coordinates." The computer responded before Fury's watch beeped.
"We do now." He smirked at me before turning on his heel and walking out of the medic bay.
"Get some rest." Agent Hill told me softly before following after Nick.
"Get some rest." I mocked with a huff.
My eyes followed the SHEILD figures until I couldn't see them anymore, two SHEILD agents standing watch at the door.
"Are you serious?" I whispered under my breath.
Fuck it. I thought. Pushing the pull out table away from my body, I shot one more dose of morphine into my system knowing what I was about to do was going to hurt. A lot. Using my good hand I ripped out the IVs, biting my lip harshly so I wouldn't yell in pain. Kicking the blankets off my body my limbs felt stiff and sore, still achey and heavy.
My feet touched the cold floor and I shivered, hoisting myself off the small hospital bed as best as I couldn't without falling over. Once I was steady, I used all my strength to start walking towards the door where the guards were. Pressing the bright keys on the key pad with the pads of my fingers, it beeped at me before a large red error message popped up.
"You've got to be kidding me." I mumbled under my breath. The guards wouldn't just let me out if they knew what I was planning, Fury obviously did this because he didn't trust me and he had every reason not too.
My eyes scanned the glass room, going up the ceiling where a small air vent was blowing cold air into the room.
"Bingo." I smirked, pulling my mask on. I knew I was going to have to find my torn up suit or some other clothes before I left, I wasn't the only one who didn't want to see me swinging around in a hospital gown.
Releasing a shaky breath, I hoisted myself up on the wall so I could crawl towards the vent. My hand wasn't fully functional right now because of my nerve damage, so it pained me to try and use it.
"Fuck." I wheezed as I finally pulled myself up into the air vent. I began crawling around, looking for the room where my suit was (hopefully) being repaired. I found the room but through the slits in the vents I could see there were too many people in there for me to take it without raising suspicion... and a call to Nick Fury.
Time for plan b. Turning left I began making my way to my temporary room in the compound. Sliding open the vent I dropped down onto the floor. My phone began ringing violently that I jumped a little in my skin. Glancing at the iPhone screen I saw MJ was calling me. I didn't answer. The phone call ended and went to voicemail. Curling back in on myself I cringed at how many voicemails my brothers girlfriend had left me. With shaky hands I grabbed the phone and put in my password, playing one of the many messages.
"Hey y/n it's MJ. Do you know where Peter is? He isn't returning any of my calls or texts, and neither are you. Look I just want to know what's going on because I'm getting worried. We have a presentation that's due tomorrow and we have to get up in front of the class. Can you just call me back please."
Once that one ended I pressed the next message as I began rummaging through the soggy cardboard boxes.
"Aunt May doesn't know where Peter went either and she's worried. She's worried about you too. Y/n what the hell is going on? There was an attack on New York and I know you both were there. Did something happen to Peter and that's what you're not tell me?"
I found one of my old suits that I had, this one was still black but instead of the black spider, it was red. I stripped off the hospital gown with little difficulty and put the suit on.
"Y/n, if something happened to Peter we deserve to know. I can handle it, I promise. Don't bury your feelings down because they'll only destroy you. You already lost your girlfriend because of it. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that. Just please, call me."
My body tensed at her words. She was right, though. I was burying something down inside me and the guilt was eating away at me. I couldn't stand to lose more people and that's why I was going to find Peter.
