Mother did everything she could to improve my relationship with Benjamin. Even today, she has organized a garden party. I was so against it, but I couldn't help it. My mother was really bothered that I called Benjamin by name and didn't say father to him. I never intend to call a stranger my father. She thinks I'm going to change my mind, but then she's really wrong.

While my mother was already preparing everything, I was watching television. I didn't feel like helping, especially not with the fake father around. I still don't understand how she could just let 2 strangers into our house. I would never have done such a thing. The programs on TV were boring, but I still watched because I didn't know what to do.

I was shocked when Nate suddenly sat next to me on the couch. I looked at him and I muttered "hey". "Hi" he said smiling. It annoys me, I don't know why, but it just is. He is so handsome, he has beautiful blond hair and light gray eyes. He could get so many people. When I realized that I was staring at him all the time, I suddenly looked straight ahead. Did I turn red? I don't know, but I know and I feel Nate was looking at me.

I got up and walked out of the room. "Where are you going?" I heard Nate yell. "Somewhere you're not." I said back. I wanted to be alone for a while.

It suddenly got really busy in the house when the first people arrived. My mother had invited the neighbors and some friends to the garden party. Out of curiosity I got out of my room and went to see who was already there. Everyone was busy talking to each other and my mother was clearly having a good time.

Among the group of people I saw Nate, he was all alone and clearly didn't know what to do. When Nate realized I was looking at him, he smiled back at me. I was getting nervous and not sure what to do, so I just stood still when Nate came up to me. "Hey" said Nate. "Everything okay?" I shrugged and he saw that I didn't feel like talking, so he said nothing more.

As I turned to go back inside, Nate suddenly put his hand on my shoulder. I stood still. "I don't know why you're avoiding me, but know I'm there for you if you need anything." he whispered. I looked at him and wasn't sure what to answer, so I nodded and he let me go.

I really wonder what Nate wants from me. It felt so strange when he suddenly touched my shoulder.
