Edward brought me along with him to get Bella, we were going to play baseball today because of the storm.

"Wow Ed, its only been what? A few weeks and you're already meeting her dad?" I joked as we arrived at the Swan's residence.

Bella answered the door and guided us towards the kitchen where Chief Swan, or Charlie was fixing his gun.

"Chief Swan, I wanted to formally introduce myself. I'm Edward Cullen. And this is my adopted younger sister Avalei." Edward shook his hand then Charlie turned to me and smiled softly.

"Hi Chief Swan, its great to finally meet you." I smiled back.

"We won't keep Bella out late tonight. We're just going to go play baseball with the rest of my family." Edward explained.

"Bella's going to play baseball?" Charlie asked amused.

"Yes sir, thats the plan" Edward stated.

Charlie looks at Edward suspiciously, which just made me amused, "Well, more power to you I guess."

"She'll be safe with us sir, I promise." Edward finished as he began to walk out.

Bella and I hung back a bit, "Yeah don't worry Chief Swan, we'll make sure Bella comes back major league ready." I joked, Charlie laughed as I exited the house.

When we finally reached the clearing, the others greeted us. Esme explained that we needed a second umpire because Emmett tends to cheat and I being human can't fully keep up with the rest of my vampire family. So another pair of eyes are helpful.

Bella and I stood behind the home base as Alice announced that its time. Soon enough the thunder erupted simultaneously as Rosalie smashes the ball with the bat.

As she ran Bella commented, "That's gotta be a home run."

"Edward's very fast" I replied with a smirk. Right when Rosalie was reaching the home base, Edward threw the ball to Esme marking her out.

"Yer out." Bella announced. Rosalie gave her a glare, I just patted her arm as passed by us and Jasper was up next. After he hits the ball, Emmett and Edward both went to catch it and collided into each other. Bella and I both laughed.

Before Carlisle could bat, Alice yelled Stop. I began to worry.

"I didn't see them until now. They're traveling so quickly." Alice stated worriedly.

"Whats happening? Who's coming?" I asked scared.

"You told us they left the country." Rosalie said, ignoring my questions.

"They did, but they heard us. Edward." Alice said then looked at Edward like she was thinking something to him. I really don't like where this is going.

"Put your hair down." Edward said to Bella while taking her hair tie out.

Rosalie soon was at my side and did the same to me and put my hood of my jacket up, "Like that'll help. I could smell both of them from across the field."

"We shouldn't have brought you guys here. I'm so sorry." Edward said.

I was going to ask why but everyone focused their attention towards the edge of the forest.

Rosalie pushed me behind her, Emmett too blocked me. "Stay behind us, don't do anything to catch their attention." She said sternly to me and kissed my cheek.

Soon enough, from the little view I had through the cracks of Emmett's and Rosalie's arms, 3 figures approached us. One I recognized easily. Flashes of when I was 6 appeared in my mind. Freezing me into place.

I didn't really quite catch what happened next or what they were talking about but my eyes stayed glued to the blonde man who I heard was named James. James...he was the man who chased me when I was little. He was the one who killed my family.

Then it all happened so fast. A gust of wind blew as Edward guided me and Bella to the car and that's when the tension rose.

"You brought snacks." James said evilly then my family surrounded Bella and I in protective stances.

"The girls are with us." Carlisle said sternly.

Laurent answered civilly, "We wont harm them, I think it's best if we leave now. James?" James' eyes never leave mine and Edward's. I had a sick pain in my stomach that things are about to get much worse.

Just as Laurent and Victoria began to leave, James gave us a sly smile then turned around and joined the others.

"Get Avalei and Bella out of here." Carlisle ordered. And Edward rushed us towards Emmett's jeep and drove us home.

He explained what James was and I still was frozen from what was happening.

James is still after me. And now he's also after Bella. Why does this have to happen to us?

"I'm sorry about all this. Avalei, especially to you. I know how much James has caused you pain." Edward talked to me.

"What? You know him?" Bella asked me. I finally got out of my trance, "He's the one who killed my family. He was going to kill me too but the Cullens scared him off. Now he's back, and he's determined to finish his job." I said blankly.

"We won't let him touch you. Both of you. There are 7 of us and one of him. He's a tracker and we just made this the most exciting game ever." Edward finished as we reached Bella's home.

They had to do this whole fight thing as an excuse for Charlie. Bella felt guilty afterwards but we had much worse things to worry about.

We finally got to our house to meet up with the others, we were going upstairs to pack some stuff for myself when we were stopped by Laurent being here.

But before Edward could hit him, Dad came in, "He came to warn us about James."

"I've grown tired of his games. But he's got unparalleled senses. Absolutely lethal. I've never seen anything like him in my 300 years. And the woman, Victoria will back him. Don't underestimate her. I'm truly sorry for what's been unleashed here." And with that, he was gone.

We were all in the garage preparing to leave soon.

"Ive had to fight our kind before. We're hard to kill." Jasper said.

"But not impossible, we'll tear him up and burn the pieces." Edward said lowly.

This got Bella and I more worried.

"I don't relish killing another creature. Even a sadistic one like James." Dad inputed.

"If he doesn't get to one of us first." Rosalie added.

"This is insane" Bella started, "You cant put yourselves in danger like this- for me."

"Its not only about you. Avalei is in this too." Rosalie retorted.

Edward then wanted to take us south but Dad made a good point that Edward wouldn't leave Bella and I. James would for sure follow us then.

Alice offered to take us with Jasper instead. Mom would stay close to Forks to look after Charlie. Rose, Emmett, Dad and Edward will lead the tracker the other direction. After we got some stuff, we were all getting ready to take off.

Before Jasper drove off, Bella and Edward talked while I hugged mom, dad, Rose and Emmett.

"You're going to be okay. We promise you. We promised to protect you when you first joined our family, and we're keeping our promise." Rose assure me. She kissed my forehead and went off with the others. They would lead James somewhere else with our scents to mistake them. Edward also came to me and kissed my cheek. Then we left as well.

After a few hours we made it to Phoenix and checked into a hotel. Right now, we were just waiting for any news from the others. Then Alice had a vision.

"What do you see?" Jasper asked Alice. Bella and I surrounded them curiously.

"The tracker, he just changed course." Alice replied, her face still staring off in the distance.

"Where will it take him Alice?" Jasper put a blank paper and gave her a pen.

"Mirrors, a room full of mirrors." Alice finished but continued drawing.

"So the course James is on now will lead him to...a ballet studio?" Bella commented.

"You've been there?" I pointed to the drawing.

"I used to take ballet lessons as a kid. The school had an arch like that." Bella replied.

"The school's here in Phoenix?" Jasper questioned.

"Yeah, around the corner from my house." Bella replied.

"Do you have any reason to go now?" Jasper added.

"No, hell no, I hated that place." Bella finished. She then got a phone call which I assume is Edward. After the call she said that him and the others would be there in a couple hours.

Nightfall came and Alice and Jasper were busy dealing with the front desk when Bella got another call.

"Mom, I'm so glad you got my-...Calm down mom. Everything is fine okay? I'll explain everything...Mom? Are you there?" I looked at Bella concerned.

Her face suddenly went from blank to terrified. Something was wrong.

"Leave my mother out of this." Bella replied to the unknown caller. But I have a gut feeling I know who it was.

"Where should I meet you?" Bella soon said. I looked at her like she was crazy. She soon hung up the phone and looked at me.

"Whatever it is. I'm with you. We're in this together." I told her holding her hand. She nodded and we then found ourselves sneaking away from Alice and Jasper and taking a cab to the ballet studio.

When we got there, we heard a voice calling for Bella. I had another feeling things are going to go wrong as Bella ran to the voice. I followed closely behind her when she opened a closet door only to find a tape being played of what I assumed was Bella's mom and Bella when she was little.

"Mom, I suck" The tape played until a sadistic laughter erupted behind us.

We tried to figure out where he was but the mirrors all around us were confusing.

"That's my favorite part. Stubborn child weren't you? I remember another girl who is just like that." He finally was in front of us, ending his glare at me.

"She's not here." Bella said, referring to her mother.

"Sorry, but you made it too easy. I had to get you both here somehow." He then took out a video camera. "So to make things more entertaining, I'm going to film our little time together. Borrowed this from your house, hope you don't mind...And action!"

As soon as he said that, I grabbed Bella's arm and pulled her with me, "Bella Run!" We tried to head towards the door but was stopped by James jumping in front of us.

"Excellent! And escape attempt." He then was right next to us, first smelling Bella's hair then touching my cheek. "It'll break Edward's little heart. And your so called family."

"Edward has nothing to do with this" Bella defended. "And my family, they'll come for us." I added.

"Oh Edward will. And I'm planning to kill you before they get here." Just as he said that Bella sprays him with pepper spray. We tried to make a run for it again but he caught both of our arms and threw us in separate directions. Bella smashes into one mirror's corner, I hit another, actually breaking the glass which fell next to me.

I looked up though in pain to look at Bella across the room. She touched her head, blood on her hands. I looked at myself, a few shards of glass were in my right arm, blood also oozing out. I felt my head with my other hand and felt the same gooey substance.

I looked across at Bella as James approached Bella in a flash. "Beautiful! Very visually dynamic, I chose my stage well. Still stubborn aren't you? Is that what makes you special because I don't see it." He grabs her hand smelling her blood on it. My vision started to blur a little.

"Too bad he didn't have the strength to turn you. Instead, he kept you this little fragile human. It's cruel really." He continued.

"Get away from her!" I tried to sound intimidating but it only came out as stutters.

James just laughed then I heard a crunch as he grabbed her leg, Bella screams in agony. "Tell Edward how much it hurts" James faced the camera back to Bella. "Tell him to avenge you"

"No! Edward don't..." Just then James was thrown across the studio and into a mirror next to me. Edward was there holding him back.

"You're alone...because you're faster than the others. But not stronger." James then turned so Edward was now smashed into the mirror.

"Edward!" I screamed.

"I'm strong enough to kill you." Edward said as he flings James, he crashes into a neighboring mirror.

Edward came over to me but I stopped him, "I'm fine, Ed, go get Bella out of here first. She needs you." Edward was hesitant at first but kissed my head and went to grab Bella.

As he did that, we didn't notice James was back up again and I suddenly felt a strong pain on my neck. I screamed.

Once Edward had Bella securely in his arms, he tried to jump out of here but James released his teeth from my neck to stop him. He threw them both and Edward crashed into the ceiling glass above while Bella crashed into another mirror.

I was screaming in pain as I watched James look at Edward before biting Bella as well. Edward got to him as he had him pinned up to the wall and bit a part of his neck off.

Bella and I withered in pain a few yards away from each other. Suddenly Rosalie was next to me, trying to calm me down. I looked across as Dad and Alice tended to Bella.

"Avalei, its okay, everything will be okay." She said smoothing my hair. I screamed in pain more, "Carlisle! Its spreading fast!" Rose yelled.

Dad came over to me, checking my injuries, "We can still stop this, we just need to suck the venom out."

I screamed in pain but managed to talk a bit, "N-no, it's t-too late. Go h-help B-Bella. She needs to live. Go!" I yelled. Dad looked at me and I gave him a look that I meant what I said. I wanted to become a vampire anyway, and Bella needed to live a little longer.

Rose looked at me like I was crazy, "Avalei, you can't. You have to stay human." I smiled at her softly, "I-Its okay Rose, I want this. I was bound to become one of you eventually." She too understood. As I laid there, still in pain, I saw that Edward was sucking Bella's blood, Emmett and Jasper were dancing around a fire, probably burning James. I looked across at Bella as Edward continued to suck her blood and Dad telling him to stop, though he didn't. Edward, you have to stop, she's okay. He then let go of Bella's hand. That's when everything went black.
