《Wings (Eremika AU)》6. Hey

Eren woke up at precisely 5:30am, rolled himself out onto the floor then performed his yoga routine. Captain Levi had always drilled the need for a calm and steady mind at all times and yoga was one of the many ways he conditioned his underlings.
6am had come around and Eren went down stairs and prepared breakfast for Annie, Armin and himself. He put his portion in the fridge and felt for his run and calisthenics routine. Eren got back at 8 to find that Annie and Armin were still asleep. Eren quickly found out the shower pressure was quite lacklustre but he didn't mind as he has been forced to go months on end without cleaning himself before (much to Levis disgust), so any shower was a good shower. When back in his room he put on a fades blue hoodie and black trackies (sweat pants for the uncultured).
"Eren it's 9am on a Saturday why are you up?"
"Morning Armin, nice bed hair and I'm up by force if habbit."
"Waaahhh...... Eren Yaeger getting up before 9am on a Saturday..... by force of habit....... get out of my apartment imposter!"
Armin was resembled the walking dead which caused Eren to chuckle.
"Want a coffe Armin?"
"Ahhhhhhhh, I guess so.......wait shit coffe!"
"What's wrong Armin? If it's about that one time I made coffe at school camp"
"No no not that. You know how we always used to get coffe? You, Mikasa and I."
"Yeah, what about it?"
"Well Mikasa and I meet up every Saturday and I'm late..... Which means she's.."
"Going to come here."
*Knock* *Knock*
"Armin you home?!"
"Armin wake up you lazy fuck! I have a spare key, so I'm coming in if you dont come out soon."
Armin looked pale as could be while Eren stood there emotionless. Armin then grabed Eren by the arm and rushed him to Erens room. Eren snapped out of it and quickly cleaned the room so it looked as though no one had been there.

"Eren you need to get out now."
"Right ahead of ya."
Eren quickly changed trackies to black jeans, put an old blackwind beater jacket over his jumper and grabbed hid black combat boots. When he finished putting on his boots they both heard the door open. Eren then grabbed his backpack and placed his wallet and phone in it. Eren walked over to the window and peered into the alleyway two stories down.
"Eren why are you smiling like that?"
Eren gave no reply before jumping out of the window into the backstreet below. Having known Eren almost his entire life Armin didn't bother to question his friend's stupidity anymore as it would most likely end up in him asking questions that will never be answered.
"Oh hey Armin why are you up here? I've been waiting at the door for ages."
"Oh yeah sorry about that, just threw a cat out the window."
"You what!?"
"Don't worry about it. Now lets go down stairs and talk mad shit over some coffee or would you prefer tea?"
"Tea sounds nice."
Eren spent the rest of the day re-discovering his old haunting grounds around the city. They all had beautiful memories, some now bittersweet. As the sun was setting he headed back to the apartment and settled down for a nice chat over dinner with Armin and Annie.
"So um Eren."
"Yeah?"
"Mikasa and I sorta organised a dinner for all our friends."
"Fine, when is it?"
"Now I know you probably dont want to go but I think you really sho.. OUCH.. what was that for Annie?"
"Eren already said he'd go."
"He did?"
"Yeah I did, I spent 6 of my 7 years away in the military. If I couldn't learn how to be an adult there then where would I?"
"But this morning you ran like there was no tomorrow."
"Excuse me for being human?"
"Alright, well it's tommorw night because Monday's a public holiday and we all have it off."

"Sounds good. Well I'm going to bed, night guys."
"Night" they replied in unison. Armin trued extracting Annie from the dining table but she turned to tables and pick him up bridal style and threw him onto the couch then snuggled upto his chest.
"Do you think Eren will be alright tomorrow?"
"Honestly Annie, I'm more worried about Jean and Mikasa. Jean has always kindabeen in Erens shadow and now that Eren's back there's going to be a paradigm shift in our social group, which will rub Jean the wrong way to say the least."
"And Mikasa?"
"Well her relationship with Jean will be a factor. How they're still together baffles me to no end, my only explanation is that Mikasa has an emotinal dependency on Jean. Now adding Eren back into the mix might not be healthy for her. No matter how they meet it's going to be a shock to her system, the poor girl thinks he's dead because that's the only way she could handle him leaving. All I can do is be there for her in the end. Don't get me wrong, Mikasa is one of the most mentally and physically strong people I know but Eren has always been her emotional weakness."
"Armin too many word's for 1 in the moring, shut your trap before I do."
"Love you too babe."
The next day rolled around as smoothly as you could expect. Eren dressed into military green pants with the ends rolled up, a form-fitting black tee over which he placed a black denim jacket, low cut black Doc Martin's and decided to tie his hair in a low messy bun.
"You shape up preety well Yaeger."
"Not to shabby yourself Leonhart."
"Babe your boyfriend is flirting with me."
"This is amazing. I dont know how but I've managed to end up in two relationships. Well I guess there is only one course of action now, you two fight to death and the winner gets me."
"Shall we get going?" Eren asked with a playful smile.
They made it to the underground parking and Annie, Armin and Eren made their way to Armins car. Eren handed Annie his bottle of wine then walked away from the car. Armin turned to his friend with a cocked eyebrow.
"I'm taking my bike on the off chance I need to leave early. I'll just follow behind you guys."
On the way to Mikasa's place Eren couldn't help but feel quite apprehensive about see her. He had quite the handle on his emotion thanks to his training but this could potentially be a whole new kind of torture, one that he wasn't trained for. The ride took about 30 minutes and in that time Eren made one important observation.
"If you don't want to lose your lunch, dont drive with Armin."
Eren parked his bike behind Armins car. Annie handed him back his bottle and they all made their way up to the front door. Eren had somehow ended up infront of Armin and Annie, with no doubt in his mind that they planned this. Making him knock was the a slight bit crule but it was like ripping a band-aid off and he knew they meant well.
Eren rapped the door three time's.
--------------------------------------------
Mikasa heard three solid knocks at the door and guessed could only be Reiner or Annie knocking as she made her was to the door.
She had a kindly smile on her face as she opened the door up to her friends. When the door was fully open her mouth went dry, her body became stuffer than a board and her face lost all emotion.
She was staring into the most brilliant emerald green eyes and the were staring right back into her own grey ones. The man before had certainly changed since she had last seen him. His face had become more defined and angular. His hair was definitely different. His eyes were still the same brilliant green but these eyes had matured in a sense. Mikasa could tell that these eyes has seen more than their fair share of suffering causing dormant emotions to slowly bubble again. Then he spoke in a deep comforting but somewhat shy voice.
"Hey Mikasa, it's been a while."

After Z
The signs were all there. A mysterious fever spreading in the wake of the pandemic. Increasing incidents of unrest with surprisingly little coverage by the media. Breakdowns in basic services. Nick had thought for years that total social collapse would come in his lifetime – he just never expected that collapse to come from the unquiet dead. As soon as he was sure enough that the potential danger outweighed the awkwardness of admitting that yes, the dead were rising, Nick grabbed his bug out bag and bugged out. It felt, at times, that the zombie movies, comics, and games he’d grown up with had been preparing for this moment. And Nick was right. But also very very wrong. After Z is an apocalyptic occult interactive serial about survivors hiding from the dead in a forest preserve. A new chapter is posted every week, and every week supporters vote on which way the story flows. This story will be added to daily until it's caught up with its current state elsewhere; if you don't want to wait you can read ahead on my blog.
