"Uhm" she says with a shaky voice. "There — there is something I have to tell you"

"Ella, Ben can you two please go to your rooms for a minute?" Archie asks. Ella groans but gets up from the floor. She takes her brother's hand and pulls him to the stairs. "Come with me Benny"

"Everything okay?" he asks Veronica.

"Depends" she mumbles as she sits down on the couch. He sits down next to her. He reaches for her hands but she pulls away.

"Do you remember that— that little rendezvous we had about a mouth ago?"

"Yeah. Do you regret it or feel uncomfortable around me? Did I say anything wrong? If so, I'm sorry. Can I do anything to make it better?"

"It's none of this Archie" she closes her eyes and takes a deep breath "I — I'm pregnant"

"You're pregnant? But we used protection"

"Well, before you came home that night, I had a headache so I took something called Topamax. It prevents migraines. My doctor told me it interferes with birth control which I didn't know and I guess the condom ripped or something. You don't have to be involved. I just wanted to tell you. I move out and find a new job and—"

"Stop stop stop" he interrupts her. "Why move out?"

"Archie I'm pregnant. I can't look after your children much longer. I won't be working then. I can't live here when I'm not working. I—"

"Why?" he interrupts again. "This is my baby in your stomach and as long as you feel comfortable here, you can live here. You watch the kids as long as you want and then I'll ask my mom for help and to the end of your pregnancy I will work less anyway. I want to be with you then"

"Really?"

"Yeah" he smiles and hesitatingly places his hand on her stomach. "Having a baby, this is what I've always dreamed of. I mean I have two babies but you know the pregnancy, birth, holding a tiny little new born in my arms, I can't wait for all of that. Oh my sweet little twins will be a big sissy and a big brother"

"This is really sweet Archie but eventually I have to look for a new job and a new place to live anyway. How do you think this will work. What if you find a nice girl you like one day and you bring her here and have to explain why a woman lives with you that you're not dating but have a kid with"

"Well actually I've already met a girl I really like and I think she would be okay with that"

"Oh okay" Veronica mumbles.

Archie smirks. He places his finger under her chin and lifts up her head. "I'm talking about you. Do you want to be my girlfriend?"

"Huh?"

"Do you want to be my girlfriend? I really really like you Veronica, in case that wasn't obvious yet and now you're having my baby so why don't we try it?"

"Are you really serious?" she asks as her cheeks blush softly.

"How can I not be? You're sweet and kind and absolutely gorgeous, plus the twins love you. So? What do you say?

"I'd love to be your girlfriend cause I like you too. You're really cute" she smirks.

His hand moves from her stomach to her waist. He leans in slowly and presses his lips against hers. The tingly feeling in her stomach gets stronger and her cheek turn even redder.

"You know" she giggles as she slowly pulls away "usually things have a different order. First people talk, then they start dating, fall in love, get married" she grins "and then have kids"

"We do it in a different order"

"Okay" she smiles and leans back in. His lips brush over hers. "We'll have a baby "he whispers "a little you and me"

"Pretty cool huh?" she says. As she places her lips back on to his, she takes his hand away from her waist and puts it back on her stomach. Her hands rest on top. She feels him smile against her lips. He slowly pulls away. "Do you know how far along you are?"

"Four weeks Archie. That's how long a month is" she giggles "so it's still super tiny. I have a sonogram picture. Do you want to see it?"

"Of course!"

Veronica reaches into her purse and pulls out a little piece of paper. She takes a quick look at it before she hands it to Archie.

"Oh wow" he whispers "it's just a little white dot" His fingers run over the picture and a smile grows on his face. A single tear rolls down his cheek. "Can I keep this?"

"Sure, I have another one that I can keep" she smiles "I think we should keep this to ourselves for a little before we tell the kids"

"You're right. Let's get them used to us dating first" he smirks.

A little giggle leaves Veronica's mouth. She carefully takes the sonogram picture out of his hands and lies it down on the the coffee table. She grabs his hand, places them back on her stomach and rests hers on top. "Can you keep doing this for a little longer? It feels good, safe kinda"

"You know you're always safe with me right? No one will ever harm a single hair on your or the baby's head. Same goes for Ella and Ben of course. I'd give my life for you guys"

"I know" Veronica whispers. She leans closer to him and closes her eye. Veronica hears a deep chuckle that makes her cheeks flush before she feels his lips on hers. But before they can kiss again, they hear a gasp. They pull away and turn to where the noise came from. Ella stands in the doorway with big eyes, covering her mouth with her hands.

"Ella I can-" Archie begins but the little girl interrupts him with a scream "Benny!" she yells "daddy and Ronnie kissed! ON THE LIPS!"

A pair of little feet run down the stairs. Just a second later Ben stands next to his sister, starring at Archie and Veronica and breathing heavily. "On the lips?" he whispers to Ella. She nods.

"Come here, we need to talk to you two" Archie says as he pats his lap. The twins walk over slowly. Ben looks a little confused but Ella grins widely. Archie lifts both of the kids onto his lap. "So" he starts "Ronnie and I like each other, very much actually. We're more than friends. We're—"

"Boyfriend and girlfriend?" Ella giggles.

"Yeah" Archie smiles. "Is that okay with you?"

"Mhm" Ella grins. Ben just nods. He gets off of Archie's lap and sits down between the two grownups. He reaches for Veronica's hand and just holds it.

"Do you kiss too?" the little girl giggles. She covers her eyes as she waits for the answer.

"You just saw us kiss" Archie smirks and tickles his daughter. Ella squeals and tries to push his hands away. "What about the baby" she laughs.

Archie stops immediately "what— what baby?"

"You said something about a baby before you kissed"

"Well" Veronica begins. "It's really easy. I— have a baby in my tummy"

"A real baby?" Ben asks with wide eyes.

"Yes, a real baby" Veronica giggles. "It's still very very tiny"

"How did it get in your tummy?"

"Uhm—" Veronica begins. Her cheeks blush a little but before she can answer, Ella groans "Oh Benny. When a boy and girl really really love each other they give each other a special hug. They hug each other super tightly and kiss and then there is a baby!"

"Oh, that makes sense" the little boy nods.

"But only adults can have that special hug" Ella adds.

"I know" he says and rolls his eyes. Kids can't have babies. That's obvious, duh"

Veronica giggles. She runs her fingers through Ben's hair and smiles at Ella.

"Is the baby a boy or a girl?" the little girl asks "I want a sissy"

"No I want a brother" Ben argues.

"Daddy and i can't choose that" Veronica smiles "the baby is still very small. We have to wait a little until we know if it's a boy or a girl"

"Okay, can we go play now?" Ella asks, jumping off Archie's lap.

"Sure sweetheart" the redhead smiles. Ben kisses Veronica's hand before he follows his sister to the playroom.

"That went well" Archie chuckles. He wraps his arms around Veronica's waist and pulls her closer. "I mean keeping your pregnancy a little secret lasted like 10 seconds but the kids seem fine"

"Yeah" she smiles. "They are amazing. They will be great siblings"

"I still can believe we're having a baby. A sweet little baby" Archie grins. He places a bunch of kisses on her cheek. "Thank you for adding a little human to our family"

"Our family?"

"Of course" he smiles. "This is our family. Not a typical family but full of love"

"That sounds good" she whispers. She tilts her head so she can look up to him. He brushes a strand of her beautiful hair out of her face and then closes the gap between their lips. He kisses her softly while one hand moves to her stomach once again.
