"Your majesties," I bowed in front of my parents.
"Enough of curtesy. Come have char with us." My father said cheerfully as he signalled his servants to put another cup on the white marble char table in the middle of the garden canopied by trees.
The snake mother looked at me with disgust on the other hand.
"Anything bothering you, mother?" I smiled at her sweetly.
"Nothing my son." She said as if she swallowed something bitter in her mouth. "I was wondering about the mission I gave you."
I sat down patiently. Trying not to burst of anger and sipped the char quietly.
"The human I acquired is of a good quality. We'll soon expect good news if we have luck."
"Yes. I heard about her. Mad tigress is what they call her." She looked towards my father.
"And why is that?" My father asked as he sipped off his cup as well.
"She apparently bites. Quite a savage from what I heard."
"You seem well informed." I responded.
"I have my sources." She smiled. "Anything for the protection of my son."
From 'my son' I knew she didn't mean me.
"I'm so glad both of you get along so well." My father cheered.
Read the situation, will you?
"Of course my King, I always considered him one of my precious." She leaned into him sliding her filthy hands across his chest.
Suddenly all of us heard a loud bang.
"HEY! GET BACK HERE!" One of are soldiers yelled.
A small figure ran around and crashed into one of the robots.
I was disappointed yet didn't feel surprised when I saw Yuri slowly getting up.
"Ooohhh, tea party!" She quickly sat down on the fourth chair reserved for the snake's son.

A number of soldiers ran inside.
"We're extremely sorry your majesty." One of them came forward. "We tried to stop her—"
"It's ok, Legiu. Looks like she wants to try some of the best char this country has to offer." My father waved off.
"But—"
"Is it not dear?" He turned to Yuri.
"Yep!" She replied with the same enthusiasm.
"Well, off you lot go then." He smiled at them. The soldiers went away with confused looks.
"Let's continue the party, shall we?" He sat down beside Yuri.
Big big mistake.
The snake mother smirked at this. "How wonderful."
"So, dear. Tell me about yourself." My father started.
"Myself! Myself? I—I love the colour pink! I can write with my left hand. I can fly a plane!" She jumped energetically.
"Plane?" My father as confused.
"Aeroplane!"
My father still seemed confused.
"Oh right you don't know aeroplane." She muttered to herself
"It's—it's one of the things used by us to fly!" She flapped her hands around.
"Dear, I know what flying means," He laughed.
"And your eyes are beautiful." She leaned in.
The King's face turned bright magenta.
"You're too kind." He said with a straight face.
Suddenly the snake mother came between them.
"I think that's enough flirting for today." She smiled upon her but I knew she couldn't hold herself from bursting into flames any second.
"Nooo, I'm not donnne." Yuri said as she picked up the snake mother's hand.
"What are you doing?— get your filthy hands of me!"
"Your skin's so soft." Yuri whispered. "It's like touching silk."
The snake mother's electric blue eyes widened as her face grew magenta as well.
"Flattery won't get you anywhere." She pulled off her hand from her.

I gently pulled Yuri towards me to save her from further embarrassment but my parents would expect this since she's a human and they did consider them dimwit.
"Yuri, are you ok? You're not acting yourself. " I asked as she stared at the snake mother.
"What are you looking at?" The snake mother spat at her.
Suddenly Yuri's face lit up.
"Oh right! You're the wicked step mother from Cinderella!" She pointed at her.
The King choked on his char.
"What did you just say?" The snake mother said threateningly as she came forward.
"Now now, my queen, she's just a child."
"My lord, you're being too kind here." She replied.
"Well, if this isn't the future mother of our grandchild. It seems she's already into the family."
Both I and the snake mother looked at him with shock.
"Your majesty, you're certainly not considering this human's child as the next heir?"
"What if I did?" He smirked at her challenging.
"But—but—she's just a mere experiment. The child she'll carry is a mere experiment!"
"Ailil." He put down the char cup calmly. "You don't get to order around here. Do you?" He glared at her.
The snake mother gritted her teeth but accepted her defeat as she looked down. "No."
"Good," The King relaxed and went back to examining Yuri.
"So, tell me. Why did your people have 3 world wars?" He asked.
Yuri's face dropped.
"Wars?—wars," Her eyes moved frantically as she panted.
"Yes, tell me about it."
"Fires, arms, nuclear weapons....bombs...destructions....mutations..no...no"
"Nuclear weapons?"
"No....nooooooooooooo" She screamed her lungs out.
"I assume you dropped one of them if you flew the planes." He said unfazed.
"FATHER THAT'S ENOUGH." I finally came in between as Yuri plucked out her hair.
"Don't tell me you actually love her." He smiled at me.
"No, but I know what you're doing is horrible right now." I lashed out as I tightly hugged in Yuri.
"Tzara, look at her. She's a human. They caused their own destruction. No wonder she's like this."
I gave him the dirtiest look I could.
"All we can do now is learn from these dimwit creatures and their mistakes."
"Yuri is not a dimwit."
My father narrowed down his eyes on me. "I'm surprised, you're finally speaking against me for a human."
"I shall take my leave now," I said as I pushed Yuri with me to walk out.
When we were finally out I held out Yuri.
For the first time I saw her crying silently.
"It's all my fault.....I had to.....I had no choice........Or else I would have been killed by them or my father.......but it was better to die than....than dropping them.... Maybe I'm finally paying back for my sins......" She held out a dark greenish blue hand.
I looked at it horrified. It was bad. But I really couldn't tell of it was poison because a normal Xanilian's skin would have turned black.
"WHO DID THIS TO YOU?"
"A boy.....he gave me a rose...."

The Emperor's Concubine
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] The heroine is good and the villainess is evil. That was the absolute truth. That rule was undeniable as well as the fact that only the heroine would receive true love and her happy ending. Likewise, the malicious villainess would always suffer and leave the stage to clear the path for the perfect heroine in the end. So, for Blanche it felt like her world came crashing around her when she remembered the truth about her life. As the villainess in the typical romance novel “To Be Empress” she was fated to be condemned and abandoned by her lover. No matter how devoted she was to Theodore Estien, the emperor of Artias, she would only be the bratty concubine that would obstruct the heroine, who happened to be Theodore's lawful wife and the empress. In the end, the villainess would be deserted and executed. It was destined to happen like this, and yet she couldn't give up. She had to change the future. Preventing the romance between the main characters would get her killed. Much like trying to steer away from the enemies' intrigues, in which she was already caught up, would. But neither the heroine nor the emperor's political rivals would change the fact that Blanche loved the man that was supposed to be the heroine's. And no matter what happened she would always stay by her lover's side. So she wouldn't just follow the book's storyline and let her own doom arrive. Blanche would survive while trying to suppress all of the selfish desires that had made her the villainess. But was she truly fine with that? Did she not desire more than just surviving? Did she even have the right? Could the villainess ask for a happy end? Was she too brazen if she just wanted to stay with the man she loved and receive his affection? And wasn't there a bit more to this novel than she remembered? She didn't know and in the end that mattered little when the world around her changed with each day as more and more questions about the future and the past arose. "The Emperor's Concubine" will be updated thrice a week (usually on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) *The Profanity tag was added due to the characters' occasional swearing, which should not happen too often.
