The entire night Jane woke up from nightmares an unbearable pain erupting through her chest. She hadn't had these nightmares since the asylum, she thought they were gone completely. It wasn't Bella's screams that woke Charlie that night, instead they were Janes. At first he didn't move thinking it was Bella but hearing it was Jane he shot up from the couch. He ran up the stairs in a panic and opened the door going wide eyed as he saw a sweaty and pale Jane. She was gasping for air crying and hitting herself, at the sight of him her body still continued to shake lightly but her eyes looked darker then normal. "Jane are you okay? Are you feeling sick?" He asked worried making a bitter laugh come from her chest that came out a partial cry. "Sick? What's sick is men. I'm sick alright. I'm sick of men taking and taking what they want as if it's what they deserve." She mumbled lowly but he sighed.

"Boy trouble I take it?" He asked wondering what Paul could have possibly done to make Jane similar to Bella. A cruel laugh left her and her smile looked amused yet it looked forced. "Yeah let's call it that..... goodnight. I'm sorry I haven't had these nightmares since- well you know." She had figured he read the file but he hadn't with all the disappearing hikers. "Just try and sleep Jane. I'll go get you some water to cook you down." He said gruffly and went down to the kitchen. Jane sat there staring off and wondering why the nightmares, when her mind wandered to the gaping hole her best friend and his new cult buddies had caused. Charlie was soon back with the water and Jane thanked him sitting stiffly in the bed until he left. She laid down mumbling to herself to go to sleep but couldn't and began tossing and turning the rest of the night.

School was tough that day running on barely any sleep, it didn't help that Bella was bragging of going to see and talk to Jake. Jane didn't even acknowledge her cousin and simply walked through classes like a zombie. As she left the school heading to the bus which she planned to take rather then ride with Bella anymore she stopped. He was easy to spot in the parking lot people walking around him intimidated by him. The buses didn't come until 3:30 giving students time to leave so they didn't get stuck behind buses in case they had jobs. So Jane tried to duck down before he noticed her, of course it was futile his height being an advantage. He strutted towards her catching many female eyes and even teachers glared at him as he looked like a gang member.

Jane ignored the fact he was bee lining for her and stood by the bus stop waiting. He approached her trying to look into her eyes but she simply turned her head away from him. "Listen... what Jacob did wasn't cool okay? But he wants to apologize he was just having a rough day. Please talk to me. Why did you block my number?" Paul asked completely confused making her laugh coldly me look at him like he was nothing more then gum on her shoe. "Can't you read? I told you why. You and your little cult can fuck off, I am not some dumb bimbo who's going to fall for the same shit twice. I trusted two guys.... I knew men were pieces of shit and I let you two make me think for even a second that maybe all men weren't the same. I was wrong. You made me look like a fool, you knew Jake was avoiding me and becoming like your little group but didn't say anything about it. Do me a favor stay the fuck out of my life and I'll stay the hell out of yours." Jane spat walking up into the single bus for the few students that didn't have rides.

Still stood there tense and shaking worse then she had ever seen was Paul. He simply glanced at her but she looked away not seeing him run quickly into the woods. In those woods he shifted instantly and his mind became open to others in the link. Sam was there immediately trying to calm the wolf down but was unsuccessful as Paul ran right to where Jacob would be coming soon. He could hardly shift back but once he did he paced outside of Emily's waiting for the brat. Sam showed up but at perfect timing so did Jacob, Embry and Jared from school. Before Sam could grab him Paul pushed jacob away already making Jake shake being a new wolf. "You fucked everything up! I had her trust we were finally good and you ruined it!" He pushed Jacob again this time making Jacob raise a brow but his shaking didn't cease.

"What did I do? She should be mad at me not you." Jacob stated simply but Paul's laugh led him to change his mind. "She thinks I should have told her about your little change in friend groups. She thinks we sit around talking about her past laughing, and she wants nothing to do with me all because of you." Paul pushed Jacob one last time causing him and Paul to shift as Sam tried breaking them up. "Enough you two. Paul if you wanna blame someone blame me. We can fix this. By telling her the truth." Sam began coaxing Paul into shifting back as Jacob did so easily trying to hide the guilt he felt. He hadn't meant to hurt Jane that bad, he also didn't mean to hurt the imprint bond her and Paul had. He knew if Paul was in this much pain then Jane must be too... and all because of Sam.

Sam had offered for him to be alpha but he turned it down, hating the change he had gone through. But Sams stupid idea to keep him in the dark about Jane led two of his pack members to ruin a bond with someone that was apart of their group in a sense. Maybe he was also pissed about the fact he had been commanded to not tell Bella the secret either. He began questioning Sams abilities to himself lucky he was no longer in wolf form for Sam to hear. Paul soon was human and stalked his way into the kitchen where Emily looked worried at his tense posture. He harshly pulled his usual chair out and sat down with a sigh. Everyone soon filed in even Jacob who looked down at his feet not looking at any of them. Emily easily reading the room sat down the muffins she had prepared and avoided asking seeing as Paul looked to be glaring down anything that moved.

"So..... how was everyone's day." Emily asked after a while of everyone eating but soon regretted it as Paul's glare once again pierced into Jacob Black. "Oh it was really great Em. Only got rejected by my imprint because some idiot took things too far when saying goodbye to her." Paul said with an edge and biting down into his last muffin while staring at Jacob still. Jacobs glare however was on Sam, cussing him out in his head but he was too absorbed with Emily to see it but she didn't. Her worried expression was caught by Sam who gave the two boys looks to say knock it off. "Janes special Paul. She'll come around the bond always works like that." Emily reassured him before turning to begin actual dinner for the pack. Paul discreetly glancing at the scars for a second before looking at his own hands, he had vowed never to hurt Jane like that.

But Sam had lost his cool with someone as patient and kind as Emily..... and he wasn't a hothead like Paul. Sam said it was also due to the fact Emily had been distancing herself from him that his temper got worse and with Paul that wasn't an option. He barely could contain it as is, let alone with distance from Jane? His soul ready felt like it was physically hurting just from the thought he might not see her tomorrow. What if it was a week or longer? With what strength he could muster he ran out of the house and into the woods before shifting and his legs running somewhere to ease the pain. They led him to the swan house where he looked at a certain window in yearning.

Funny thing is...... she wasn't there.

"Bella can I just say your dumber then you look? Or is that mean? I'm trying to get over this weird hatred we have for each other." Jane spoke with a huff following her dearest cousin Bella up a slight hill. "It's actually pretty rude but.... I'll manage." She responded briefly not seeming all there. Jacob hadn't been home so Bella decided a hike to a meadow would be more productive then staying home. "Yeah well- going for a hike when HIKErs are going missing is just plan stupid and idiotic but- I guess I don't want to plan a funeral." Jane picked at Bella more so worried for her cousin even if she didn't seem to like Jane. She was about to snap when they found an empty clearing.

Jane snorted at the sight of it, it didn't even look like meadow the grass was dead, and no flowers. About to poke fun she watched as Bella looked to be having an inner crisis and decided to not make another comment. Suddenly she seemed to sense that no noise was made in the forest, not a single chirp. That usually meant a predator was around so Jane shrugged it off as it being themselves. Maybe it was the paranoia but she began to feel watched, she could've sworn she saw flickers in the woods around them. Bella still talking to herself didn't seem to notice and hammerhead and Katy stayed to the surface in case of an incident.

"Bell- and her dear cousin..." a man spoke out of no where right in front of them. Janes body tensed she hadn't even seen him and her eyes were surveying non stop, something didn't feel right. "Laurant?" Bella spoke she almost sounded happy to see him, but Jane didn't lose her suspicions. "What are you doing out here all alone? Werent you like a pet to the Cullens?" He asked taking a step forward making Jane notice his blood red eyes. "Yeah- I uh guess something like that." Bella stuttered letting Jane know things weren't in there favor so she took a step forward. "Who the hell are you? A friend of theirs?" She snapped making his eyes focus solely on her making her blood run cold but she held her stance. "Ah your Bella's cousin. Victoria's told me so much about you." He smiled but the name he spoke made Bella show a second of fear that let Jane know this guy wasn't a friend of hers. "Victoria?" Bella asked him and he smiled and shook his head.

"Yes she sent me here to see if the Cullens were still here to protect you. She only thinks it's fair that since Edward killed her mate that she kill his. An eye for an eye sort of speak." He shrugged like it wasn't a big deal and Jane could feel her body temp heating up as Katy came closer and closer. "But you helped us-" Bella said in a panic and Laurent quickly was right there making Janes skin being to glow a very faint orange. "She wants to make it slow and painful. I'll be quick and you'll have your cousin with you there so you will not be alone." He said putting a hand up but before he could grab either of them Katy shifted in and blasted him away. His body flew a couple hundred feet away as a look of surprise crossed his face. His chest had been burned it looked to be cracking like glass due to the pressure and heat of her hit.

Bella couldn't believe her eyes, her cousin was on fire and even floating in air. Laurent began speeding towards them again aiming to at least kill Bella and run when a twig snapping caught his attention. The threes eyes went to the side of the field where five giant wolves appeared to slowly stalk out. The black one led them but Katy's eyes met the grey wolves he seems to freeze for a second before snarling at the man in front of them. Soon the wolves took off at him all at once, he hit the black one away before running at inhuman speeds away. Katy soon relaxing enough to turn into flint who knew what to do. "Bella.... We've never met but take my hand, and let's get the hell out of dodge." He said in a rush making her look confused at the new personality but take it. In a blink of an eye they were in front of the swan residence.

Jane quickly came forward and dragged Bella into the house where Charlie and Harry Clearwater sat with their fishing gear laughing around. Before they could even get a story straight Bella was blabbing about the wolves to them. Harry looked to know something but played stupid for Charlie and Bella's sake. His eyes going to Janes eyes that were already sunk in and her paling face here and there. "Are you sure that's what you saw Bella?" He tried to make her question herself but it didn't work Bella even looked to Jane for help. "Jane saw them too right Jane?" She asked but Jane shrugged easily lying on what Katy saw. "I wasn't the one there it was Katy and things are fuzzy when she's here." She shrugged making Charlie nod slowly before looking to Harry to arrange a hunting party.

The hunting party made Jane feel unsettled tempering the eyes Katy and seen sent a wave of familiarity but she couldn't place it. Walking upstairs she walked on Bella's tale and into her bedroom with her. She slammed the door shut looking at Bella with a quirked brow as she looked intimidated but tried to act nonchalant. "Can I help you?" She asked unsure and as monotonous as usual. "That 'guy' back there knew you, and he said that Edward killed someone?" Jane asked making Bella swallow and look away wide eyed. "Come on Bella. Don't try to lie or I'll tell Charlie exactly what those wolves had killed.... A guy about to kill us." Jane said crossing her arms wanting answers and Bella sighed deciding sharing the secret was better then Charlie finding out or worse.

"Edward and his family.... Weren't human. They are vampires like that guy back there." Bella said making Jane suck in a breathe and try to hide the blatant shock she felt. "And your sending Charlie out there after some wolves? What if the wolves are dead? What if he and that Victoria he mentioned are out there waiting?" Jane snapped realizing the danger the hunting party was now in. It pained her to say the wolves were dead, and fear seemed to course through her as those familiar eyes would haunt her if it was dead. "I'm not the one sending him out there. They wanted to know what's killing the hikers I told him." Bella scoffed at Jane who looked at her like she was a complete idiot. "Oh your so dumb vampire exist and you think wolves are killing the hikers... And this Victoria she's after you? So she could just pop in here whenever she wants to drink you like a damn slurpee?" Jane seethed at Bella's lack in worry.

Bella stayed silent and didn't answer making Hammerhead appear at her lack of worry now knowing the underground would be on high buzz to protect the family. "Act like you don't care fuck face but don't come crying like a damn pussy when she kills you. I'll save the day for Jane and maybe Charlie but you? I'm not to fond of you." Hammerhead said before walking briskly into Janes room making sure the window was locked. She walked around the house checking the security of it, but knew if a vampire wanted in.... It would get in.

Unaware a certain wolf stood outside the house making sure even though it wasn't his turn to patrol that his imprint was safe.
