Huang Dewei wore his clothes and hides all of his wounds as much as he could. Put a sword at his side then knock on the door and entered inside. He walked as his gaze fell on the bed where he met Wang Lei's eyes and he felt the world stop around them. Their eyes were staring deep into each other souls as they could not look away. They felt a desire to just stare at each other because they unknowingly had actually missed each other. 

Huang Dewei felt relieved seeing him all alive while he slowly walked because his feet were still in pain due to getting burnt. Even though he had been putting medicine on his wounds for the past few days, they were still not completely healed. Wang Lei took in his presence and he felt overwhelmed and happy seeing him alive but the way he was walking, he could tell he was not all well. He kept his gaze on him as Huang Dewei stopped in front of him then bowed down and greeted him

'How are you feeling, your highness?' Huang Dewei asked as Xin Ying and Chen Ju looked at him. Xin Ying was also happy to see him alive as she was helping Wang Lei to sit up on the bed whereas Chen Ju was sitting at the side and she hatefully glared at him that he was still alive.

'Weiwei...I thought I will never see you again.' Wang Lei said as he weakly smile at him while Xin Ying and Chen Ju were surprised by two things. One on the nickname he called him. Wang Lei, the cold Emperor of Wang Lei, called someone lovingly with a nickname was something to be shocked about and second, the way he confessed about not seeing was like a separated lover confession to his lover that he missed him. Xin Ying and Chen Ju looked at each other but said nothing while Huang Dewei and Wang Lei did not notice their strange expressions nor did they care.

'I am happy to see you alive too, your highness.' Huang Dewei respectfully in response as Wang Lei sighed and looked towards Xin Ying who was sitting right next to him.

'I am fine...you should go and have some rest.' Wang Lei said as he ordered her and Xin Ying looked between them and then nodded her head. She bowed down and walked out because she understood Wang Lei wanted to be left alone with him. She felt jealous but now she does not want to repeat any stupid mistake in her jealousy that would cause harm to both Wang Lei and Huang Dewei. He was becoming his concubine soon in future anyway so she would be sharing Wang Lei with him anyway so what's the point of envy. But it still does hurt seeing how lovingly he acts with him. As much as it hurt Xin Ying, she decided to take time and accept it. All that mattered to her was giving birth to the next Emperor since as Wang Lei's wife, that was still her right. Meanwhile, on the other hand, Chen Ju glared at Huang Dewei and stood up. 

'I will go and get your food.' Chen Ju said and came out herself because since Wang Lei knew that it was her who was behind this poisoning act, he was not talking with her. He let her sit or be around him but no talking. She angrily walked out leaving them behind while they were just staring at each other.

'Come here...come to me, Weiwei.' Wang Lei whispered weakly calling him to come closer and Huang Dewei quickly walked and moved closer to him. Wang Lei held his hand and made him sit down on the bed with him.

'Are you in a lot of pain?' Wang Lei asked as he lovingly touched his face.

'I am fine...you are the one who is in pain, your highness.' Huang Dewei said back as Wang Lei just weakly smile.

'I am happy to see you all safe...I was scared for a second that you may have gone far away from me.' Wang Lei confessed and Huang Dewei looked at him and then just smiled back at him.

'Did they torture you a lot?' Wang Lei asked and Huang Dewei looked toward him and smile. 

'Yes.' Huang Dewei simply answered truthfully and Wang Lei sighed painfully. He could tell Huang Dewei was in pain. He looks all weak...there were signs and marks on his face so he could only wonder how many he would have over his body.

'I apologise on their behalf...it is all my fault.' Wang Lei said as he coughed and Huang Dewei just shook away his head.

'That poison was supposed to be for me...I should have taken it instead of you. Feng Zhi told me that you know who did it then tell me who was it. I ask him but he is not telling me.' Huang Dewei said as he asked and Wang Lei shook away his head. 

'No, you don't need to know it.'

'But why, I want to know who did it. Why you are trying to save that person? Is that person that important to you?' Huang Dewei complained as he really wanted to know and Wang Lei sighed.

'Why do you always have to argue with me over everything Huang Dewei? Just listen to me without any complaints.' Wang Lei said as Huang Dewei looked towards him and then angrily pushed away his hand.

'I want to know.'

'Huang Dewei please just let it go for now.' Wang Lei said and Huang Dewei sighed as he said nothing more on the topic. They sat in complete silence when there was a knock on the door and Chen Ju walked inside with a maid holding food for Wang Lei. Due to his condition, he was given special made food for him. It mostly contains soups and liquid food instead solids.

'I got your food, Wang Lei.' Chen Ju said as they both looked at her and Huang Dewei stood and walked towards her.

'I will taste the food before he can eat.' Huang Dewei said and Chen Ju surprised looked at him over his statement.

'What?'

'You heard me, I don't trust anyone anymore.' Huang Dewei said as he looked dead into her eyes and Chen Ju surprised looked towards Wang Lei.

'Wang Lei are you going to let him walk all over me?' Chen Ju asked and Wang Lei sighed as he looked at Huang Dewei

'Huang Dewei....leave it.' Wang Lei said to him and Huang Dewei glared towards him and Wang Lei looked away. He was happy he did not tell him it was Chen Ju behind this poison otherwise he would not have let her come anywhere near him.

'Someone tried to give you poison not him...it was for you.' Chen Ju said as she glared at Huang Dewei. She really hates his guts. He was acting like this when he was still just a slave what would he do once he became Wang Lei's concubine. He would be at the same level as Chen Ju. He would not even let anyone come near Wang Lei.

'So...I don't know what was their intention?...today they tried killing me and tomorrow it could be his highness.' Huang Dewei replied simply in a strong tone. 

'Wang Lei's life is not that cheap.' Chen Ju coldly indicated how cheap his life was that even if he would have died no one would have died. Huang Dewei did not care but Wang Lei definitely did not like her words

'Chen Ju, leave the food on the table and I will eat it.' Wang Lei said in a rude tone as Chen Ju looked towards him who was looking at her coldly. She did the mistake but now the way Wang Lei, first time in her life was treating her, she hated it...she regretted it. Tears formed in her eyes but she put the food on the table and walked out.

'Come back here...don't walk too much.' Wang Lei said to Huang Dewei as he call him back to him and Huang Dewei slowly walked back to him.

'Feng Zhi told me they burn your feet...you should rest.' Wang Lei said and Huang Dewei sighed, but said nothing. He picked up the food plate and started tasting it. He really was not trusting anyone...Wang Lei found him endearing.

'Do you realise that Huang Dewei someone tried to poison you, not me?' Wang Lei said and Huang Dewei looked up towards him

'Your life matters more to me.'

'What about yours? Your whole existence is my whole world, Weiwei.' Wang Leo confessed and Huang Dewei dumbfounded looked up at him as he felt butterflies in his stomach from his words. He looked towards him and suddenly he looked away as he started crying.

'Weiwei, are you crying?' Wang Lei asked in a worry-filled tone. He felt restless seeing him cry. It was not a pleasant sight to see him crying.

'I was really scared that you are going to die.' Huang Dewei said as he kept crying. He could not control his tears anymore even though he did try not to cry in front of him.

'Nothing happens to me...don't overthink and cry over it...it does not worth your tears.' Wang Lei said as he got hold of his face and softly cleaned off his tears.

'I don't think I can live without you anymore, Wang Lei.' Huang Dewei confessed and this time it was Wang Lei's turn to be shocked. His heart skipped a beat as he stares at him who was innocently looking back at him.

'Well, you are going to live with me for the rest of your life anyway so I am assuming that issue of yours is sorted out.' Wang Lei said jokingly as he played with his hair and Huang Dewei pouted like a kid

'Stop joking around.' Huang Dewei said and Wang Lei weakly laugh. Huang Dewei could not help and adore him for laughing. He stares at him for a few seconds as Wang Lei stopped laughing. Wang Lei looked at him and spoke up.

'Do you want to show me your wounds?' Wang Lei said as he was still touching his hair softly

'Why? No...' Huang Dewei rejected his offer straight away. He does not want to show how messed up his body was at this moment...it was an ugly sight...full of scars and wounds.

'You don't have to hide anything from me.' Wang Lei said and shook away his head

'No, I don't want to show you...it's not a good sight...it's ugly.' Huang Dewei said

'I won't judge...there is nothing that can make you look ugly in my eyes.' Wang Lei said and Huang Dewei sighed

'Please leave it...I don't want to be embarrassed in front of you anymore.' Huang Dewei said as he pleaded and Wang Lei looked toward him and then just nodded his head. Huang Dewei started feeding him his food. Wang Lei start eating without a complaint but could not finish it. He was full after eating only half. Huang Dewei did not argue either since he was not feeling well anyway.

'You should rest and I will be going now your highness.' Huang Dewei said as he put away the half-empty plates and looked toward him. Wang Lei hold his hand and stopped him. He slowly bends down and put his lips on his forehead. He softly kissed him as Huang Dewei froze in his place. He felt warm from this act as slowly they both slowly closed their eyes. Wang Lei moved away after kissing him and looked toward him.

'Don't go and sleep here.' Wang Lei said and Huang Dewei looked at him

'Are you sure?'

'Yes, come here in the bed.' Wang Lei said as he pointed towards the empty space next to him and Huang Dewei thought for a while then nodded his head. He does not care about others anymore neither he wanted to. He missed him so he does not want to be away from Wang Lei either. He got up and got inside the bed with him.

'Read a book to me before I go to sleep.' Wang Lei said and Huang Dewei nodded his head and then got hold of the book which was at his bedside table. Wang Lei lay down as he opened the book and started reading it. The words echo in the room as they lay on the bed, enjoying each other's presence.
