"This place is beautiful." Alex says as me, Ash, Tobin and my bridesmaids walk around the wedding venue.
It's mine and Lindsey's wedding day. I'm a little nervous, but I'm ready to be a Horan.
"It really is." I say.
The 6 of us then head to our private room and get ready. There is a shower in the bathroom of the room and I am told to go first so I do and once I'm done I put on a loose shirt and sweats.
The six of us are eating a late lunch when suddenly there is a knock on the door.
"Who is it?" Alex asks through the door.
"It's Emily."
Alex opens the door and Emily comes in.
"Hey." I say.
"Lindsey's nervous and we've tried everything to calm her down. Can you come try?" Emily asks.
I nod and we walk over to Lindsey's room. Emily goes in then leaves the door cracked.
"Princess?" I ask through the crack in the door which is big enough for me to slip my hand through so I do.
"Yeah?" Lindsey replies and takes my hand in hers.
"You okay baby?"
"I'm a little nervous."
"I am too, but I need you to listen to your bridesmaids and your mother and put that dress on so you and I can start our life together and I can finally be a Horan okay?"
"Okay...I love you Cairo."
"I love you Lindsey...I'll see you at the alter."
"I'll be the one in white." Lindsey says.
"I can't wait to see how gorgeous you look." I say before I'm dragged away to put my dress on.
Lindsey told me to go without make up like I usually do so I put my dress on and not going to lie...I look damn good.
When I come out in my dress the girls all look at me shocked.
"Wow." Alex says.
"You look beautiful." Christen says.
"Cairo it's time." Tobin says.
My bridesmaids and I walk out and meet Lindsey's bridesmaids in the waiting area.
"Damn Cairo." Emily says.
The bridesmaids walk out head of me then Ash leads me to the alter. She looks good in a suit. When we get to the alter we hug and before Ash sits down I kiss her cheek then I go stand with my bridesmaids.
The here comes the brides music plays and I see Lindsey for the first time in her wedding dress and holy shit I am the luckiest person in the world.
My mouth falls open. I get a bit teary eyed and the only thing I have my eyes on is my absolutely stunning soon to be wife. Once Lindsey arrives a few feet from the alter Tobin starts talking.
"We're all here today to celebrate the relationship of Lindsey and Cairo and to be witnesses and supporters of the commitment they share with one another. Together we are a group of the most important people in their lives and they've brought us here to publicly recognize that we've all played some special part in the love they share today. Lindsey and Cairo wanted me to thank you all for being here and to recognize how important each and every one of you are to their relationship. They would also like to recognize all of those who couldn't make it here today as they are certainly missed but not forgotten on this day of celebration...Speaking of important people, there were none more important in influencing the lives of Lindsey and Cairo than their parents. With that being said, who gives Lindsey away in marriage to this woman?"

"Her mother and I do." Lindsey's father says then he places her hand in mine. "Protect my little girl Cairo."
"Always sir." I say then lead Lindsey to the alter and then we join hands.
"You look beautiful." I whisper.
"As do you." Lindsey whispers.
"Does anyone have any reason that these two should not be married?" Tobin asks.
I glare at the crowd daring someone to say something which earns a giggle from Lindsey. I still love that sound.
That was the last thing I heard until it was time to say our vows
"The brides have written their own vows...Who would like to go first?"
"I will." I say and then look at Lindsey.
"Lindsey Michelle Horan in a few moments I will be able to call you my wife and I will officially be the luckiest person in the universe. When I was writing these vows I thought about everything that has happened to me since I met you and in every memory you were always there for me whether it was my highest high or my lowest low. When I got called up for my first training camp I never expected to meet the woman who would change my life forever. I never thought I would meet my best friend, and I definitely didn't think I would find the love of my life. That day 2 years ago when I had my accident was the scariest day of my life, but also was one happiest days of my life because I was lucky enough to call you my girlfriend. I knew I was in love with you when I didn't want to fall asleep because my reality was finally better than my dreams. I remember the day I told you that I love you. That day was one of the worst days of my life and I thought that you couldn't be with me any more after knowing everything, but when you immediately said it back and I saw the look in your eyes that said everything that you wanted to say to me I knew you were my soul mate and that we would get married one day. I still can't thank you enough for not getting mad at me the next day when I almost threw 7 years of sobriety down the drain. I expected you to yell at me, but instead you just held me and let me cry. You were there for me at my lowest point when I need you most. It was in that moment that I realized just how special you are...In the time we have been together you've taught me how to laugh, how to love, and how to smile. You've taught me how to live life to the fullest and with you by my side I finally have color in my life...I know I will make mistakes, make you cry, make you angry, but I promise to never let you feel unloved, unsafe, or uncherished. I will love you today, tomorrow, and forever." I say then take a deep breath and stare into Lindsey gorgeous eyes.
"Lindsey I vow to be your lover when you need to be loved, your doctor when you are ill, your army when you go to war, your umbrella when life rains down on you, your rock when you get weary, your shield when you need defense, your spirit when you are drained, your pillow when you need to rest, your voice when no one can hear you, your ear when no one will listen, your comfort when you feel pain, your hero when you are under duress, your sunshine when darkness falls, your answer when questions arise, your inspiration to overcome obstacles, your hand to hold when you are frightened, your kiss that wakes you everyday, and your 'I love you' each and every night"

"And now Lindsey yours." Tobin says.
"Cairo soon to be Horan" Lindsey starts off making me smile. "The first time I saw you my heart whispered 'that's the one'. While writing these vows I thought back on all the high's and low's we've been through together. In the high's we had together I remember thinking 'wow this is even more special because I'm with the love of my life' and in the low's all I remember thinking was 'everything will be okay because I have you with me'. Cairo you make me happy in a way no one else can. I remember when I forgot our 6 month anniversary I expected you to hate me and never talk to me again, yet the only thing you wanted to do was to hold me that night. I didn't know why you forgave me so easily, but I found out why when you and I cuddled that night and just before I went to sleep I heard everything you said. I never knew I could mean so much to someone. I also never knew someone could have as big an affect on me as you do Cairo...I've been thinking a lot lately about the memories I have since I met you and one of my favorite memories of us is when I was sick and we were cuddled in bed watching Frozen because I wanted to and Olaf said 'some people are worth melting for'. When he said that both of us looked at each other and by the smile on your face and the look in your eyes I knew we were both thinking the same thing...I would melt for you...Whenever we are apart I get butterflies just thinking about the next time I'll see you. Not only are you my lover and best friend, but you are my guardian and my protector. Whenever I am with you I know nothing bad can ever happen to me or us. When I look at you I know I'm home. I love you, not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you, not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me."
Lindsey then takes a deep breath and stares deep into my eyes.
"Cairo my vow to you is simple, I'll endure until the end. I'll be your one and only, your lover and your friend, I'll listen and I'll nurture, I'll fight and I'll be true. I'll do my equal share and I will never give up on you. I'll try to do my very best, to fulfill your every need. I'll walk beside you hand in hand, I'll help you to succeed. I'll be your constant equal. I'll give you room to grow, I'll tend to you when you are sick, build you up when you are low. I stand before our friends and family and I say to you that no matter what hard times we face, our love will make it through."
"Cairo, do you take Lindsey to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?" Tobin asks.
"I do." I say with a smile.
"Lindsey, do you take Cairo to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?" Tobin asks.
"I do." Lindsey says with a smile.
"May we have the rings please?" Tobin asks and Mal hands Lindsey my ring and Christen hands me Lindsey's ring.
)
"Cairo place the ring on Lindsey's left hand and repeat after me...You were my yesterday, you are my today, you will be my tomorrow. All that I am I give to you." Tobin says
"Lindsey you were my yesterday, you are my today, you will be my tomorrow. All that I am I give to you." I say then slip on Lindsey's ring and smile at her.
"Lindsey place the ring on Cairo's left hand and repeat after me......You were my yesterday, you are my today, you will be my tomorrow. All that I am I give to you." Tobin says
"Cairo you were my yesterday, you are my today, you will be my tomorrow. All that I am I give to you." Lindsey says then she slips on my ring and smiles at me.
"By the power vested in me by the state of California I now pronounce you wife and wife. You may now kiss your bride." Tobin says.
Lindsey and I smile at each other then I pull her in for a very passionate kiss. After a considerable amount of time kissing we break then walk down the aisle followed by the bridesmaids. We then take thousands of picture with the wedding party then my wife and I go to our private room.
"Hey Mrs. Horan." Lindsey says.
"Hello Mrs. Horan." I say and bring her to me for a kiss.
Things start to get heated and after we've both taken the other ones dress off there is a knock on the door.
"10 minutes Ladies."
Both of us sigh then put on our reception attire.
"You know if I knew how good you look in a suit I would have told you to wear one for the wedding." Lindsey says and runs her hand down the front of my suit.
)
"Looks like we'll both have fun taking this suit off." I say.
"Oh we definitely will." Lindsey says and kisses me.
"I'm really glad we chose this shade of red for our wedding colors."
"Oh and why is that?" Lindsey asks playfully.
"Because you look absolutely beautiful in this color." I say.
There's another knock on the door signaling we are being summoned for the reception.
"For the first time ever please welcome Mrs. and Mrs. Cairo and Lindsey Horan."
Lindsey and I then make our way down to the dance floor and begin our first dance.
"That's gonna be real easy to get use to." I say.
"What will?" Lindsey asks with her head on my shoulder.
"Having a last name...especially since it's the last name of the woman I love most."
The rest of our dance is spent swaying back and forth to the music while stealing a few soft kisses here and there. After our dance Lindsey's father comes to the dance floor so they can have their father daughter. While her dance is going on I sit in our seats and play with my thumbs.
Suddenly there is a kiss on my cheek.
"Time to eat Baby." Lindsey says and holds her hand out to me.
I take her hand and we walk over and get our food then everyone else follows us. Lindsey and I eat and talk for a while then make our rounds to thank everyone for coming to our wedding. After everyone has eaten dinner Lindsey tosses her bouquet and Kelley catches it.
"Well looks like I need to find someone to marry." Kelley says.
Kling goes to say something, but a couple of the girls put their hands over her mouth knowing what she was going to say.
After the bouquet toss we dance and talk for a couple more hours until we have to go. Once the reception is over Lindsey and I head back to our changing room and change out of our reception attire.
"Hey can I ask you something?" I say.
"Of course."
"Can we put our wedding dresses back on?"
"May I ask why?"
"I always imagined when we got married I would carry you across the threshold of our house while you are in your wedding dress."
"I would love nothing more than to end our day like that." Lindsey says then turns around and puts her bare chest to my bare chest then wraps her arms around my neck. "And after you carry me across the threshold maybe you can carry me to our bedroom."

A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.
