This was a mistake.
Just how bad could everything get in just a few days?
You stared at the white-haired male across you. Mammon frowned, returning the gaze. Yuki laughed sheepishly. "Um, (M/n), this is Mammon."
"I know."
"Oh, then um, I don't need to repeat it, right?" Yuki asked nervously.
"I figured you should meet him, since Mammon's–"
"Courting them." Mammon leaned forward, trying to look more intimidating to you as you resisted the urge to lean back.
"..." Your friend sighed in slight embarrassment as they pulled Mammon away roughly. You crossed your arms. "Man, you truly have terrible taste in men."
"Hah? What'd ya say, you brat–!"
"Say, aren't you that one guy from the student council who often gets caught in detention?" You sent him a mocking smile, watching in pleasure as he fumed at your words. "I hear Lucifer grumbling about you not putting a great image for the rest of the student council, you know? I should be allowed to say that Yuki has terrible taste in men."
"Tch! Why you... Come here, you damn–!"
"Mammon, enough." Yuki grasped the male's arm and squeezed it, glaring at him. They sighed. "Sorry, (M/n)."
"I stand by my words." You smiled blankly at Yuki. You then feigned a thoughtful look, mumbling something that only Mammon could hear. "But then again, Yuki didn't choose you. You're the one courting them anyway."
Mammon rolled his eyes. "Psh, just because you're slightly good looking doesn't give ya the right to talk down on me this much."
"I'm not talking down on you, dear. I'm just stating it." You hummed, ignoring the good looking part. "How can you last when you're so easily provoked, even?"
"..." Mammon huffed, though not retorting.
It wasn't like you didn't have a point.
But you didn't have to be such a dick about it.
"Settle down, both of you." Yuki began. "And (M/n), be nice."
"I was." You bore a half-lidded look, not bothering to look at them. Yuki frowned. "Did something happen again today? Did Asmo do something to you?"
Mammon perked up at the sound of the male. You huffed. "When has he never? What kind of apology is giving me flowers again?"
"Oh, right. You're the one Asmo's courting, right? Hilarious!" Mammon, forgetting his previous vendetta with you, laughed hysterically. You raised a brow, irritated. "The hell you mean, courting? He's trying to apologize."
"Pfft– No wonder." Mammon rolled his eyes, laughter watering down into fits of chuckles. "Someone who's tryna apologize by giving ya roses?"

"Maybe?"
"Or how about that heart shaped cake that was handed down to Beel? One that said, 'be mine?' shaped as a whole ass heart?"
"Don't know. I was on the verge of throwing it away before Beelzebub volunteered to take it off my hands."
"How about that one ring he commissioned Satan to give you then, huh? Satan told him you said to 'shove it up his ass.'" Mammon teared up at the memory.
You sighed. "Do me a favor and tell that bother that I'm not the least bit interested then. He hasn't even apologized." Not that you'd given him a chance to, really.
"Asmo's pretty stubborn, though." Mammon shook his head, chuckles growing calmer. "Lucifer tried to tell him he was bothering you, but Asmo didn't care."
"...That fucking asshole." You dug your nails on your skin, though not visibly losing your composure.
"Hah, so ya really hate Asmo, huh?"
"...No wonder. Have you ever decided that maybe it would be better for all of us if you'd persuade him to stop these stupid schemes?" You tried to reason. Mammon raised a brow before his cheeks puffed out, bursting out laughing. "Hah! Why would I do that? It's hilarious!"
Mammon hit your back as he cackled once more. You grew irritated by the gesture and stood up. Yuki gazed at you in worry.
"...Good luck making a better impression on both me and Yuki then." You merely smiled at the white-haired male. Mammon ceased his laughter, suddenly chilled by your smile. He swallowed.
"I think I need to finish a few things. I'll see you later, Yuki." You paid no mind to Mammon as you left the cafeteria.
A bead of sweat dropped down Yuki's forehead as they realized what direction you just left through.
Because why would you go out into the courtyard instead of going back inside to do school work you said you left behind?
They frowned.
"...Mammon, that was really low of you."
Yuki looked down, feeling guilty for having you meet Mammon. The male flinched at their words. "W-what? It's my fault suddenly? Why didn't you scold him when he was clearly makin' digs at me?"
"I figured he was already having a bad day because of Asmo, so I let it slide. I can admit neither of you two were right then."
"..." Mammon huffed stubbornly, looking to the side in order to avoid looking at Yuki's frowning face. "...Sorry."
"...It's not me you should be apologizing to. Maybe you can do something to gain back (M/n)'s favor?" Yuki mused, looking a little concerned. Mammon raised a brow, returning his gaze back onto them.

"...Whadd'ya want me to do?"
"...(M/n) despises Asmo and his attempts at apologizing. Maybe if you actually manage to persuade Asmo to stop...?" Yuki trailed off, leaving Mammon to connect the rest.
Mammon blinked twice before sighing and shaking his head. "Ya know I wasn't lying about that time when Lucifer tried to get him to, not wanting Asmo to set a bad example for us by making (M/n) despise the student council?"
"..." Yuki's frown stretched deeper. Mammon winced. "...And ya know Asmo's courting him, not apologizing?"
"...God, that guy's an idiot. I can't believe I liked him at first."
"..." Mammon gave Yuki a look of annoyance at the information.
The table went silent for a few moments as the duo thought to themselves about the situation.
Suddenly, Yuki hung their head low and sighed deeply. Mammon turned to them and raised a brow. "...Ya alright?"
"...I don't know. It's my fault Asmo's pinning for (M/n) at this point, so I'm pretty much responsible for this." Yuki grasped the fabric on their legs, crumpling it. "I wonder why (M/n) still puts up with me at this point.
...
"...Tch!"
Yuki was visibly confused by the sudden click of Mammon's tongue. The white-haired male crossed his arms, scoffing to himself.
"Fine. The Great Mammon will help ya out this time!"
"...Wait, really?" Yuki was surprised by the offer. Mammon scrunched his face up. "What, is it weird? Whatever, then–!"
"Thank you! You're the best!"
"..."
A bright blush coated Mammon's cheeks at the praise. Yuki blinked twice, seeing the crimson coating his cheeks.
"...Hey, are you blus–?"
"SHUT IT!"
How defensive.

A cold breeze hit you as soon as you opened the door to the courtyard. You shut the door behind you and sighed.
It would have been nice to have a few minutes to yourself.
How unfortunate.
"(M/n), do you like Yuki?"
You froze on the spot as you heard his voice. Asmo was pouting, arms crossed above his chest.
The surroundings were void of people, save for you and Asmo. Considering it was lunch, it was quite surprising.
How long had Asmodeus been waiting here, expecting you to come out? And what if you'd just left through the other door back inside the school?
"Whatever you want to say, spit it out right now. I don't have time for you." You glared at him. Asmodeus frowned, though surprised you actually stopped to talk to him instead of just ignoring him and going about your day.
"I asked if you like Yuki. Is that why you're so upset right now?"
"...How many times do I have to say it before you get it through your thick skull, Asmodeus?" You smiled through the wrath you were currently feeling. " Alright? And it's none of your fucking bussiness, see? So leave me the hell alone."
"...Do you really hate me that much?" His voice grew meek, sounding quite pitiful. The thought that he might have only been doing so to elicit a pitiful response from you infuriated you even more.
"Have I not made it clear enough? Asmodeus, I despise you. More than you could ever know." You clenched your jaw. The male lifted his gaze and met your eyes.
Then he averted them, looking off to the side.
You weren't sure if it was genuine at all.
"...I'm sorry."
"Damn right you should be." You scoffed. "You should apologize to Yuki as well."
"...Sorry, but why?" Asmodeus looked genuinely confused.
You raised a bow, only to realize he actually didn't know.
"...That letter, that box, and all those other gifts. They were from Yuki, not me. They wanted to create a sort of secret admirer situation with you and asked me to put the presents in their stead. When you caught me, I panicked and told you they were from me to hide Yuki's identity."
"...!" Asmodeus widened his eyes at the information.
"And when you tried to tease me by reading the letter publicly, it wasn't me who was going to be embarrassed. It was them." You admitted with gritted teeth. "And for that, I don't think I'll forgive you that easily. No matter what shit you try to give me."
"...Then you do like Yuki." Asmodeus spoke. You rolled your eyes before turning around to walk away, neither confirming nor denying. It's no use, anyway. "That's none of your business. Fuck off, Asmodeus."
"..."
The champagne-haired male said nothing as he continued to watch you depart.
It took a few seconds for him to move after you had completely left his field of vision. Only then did he open the door slightly to peek inside the cafeteria.
His eyes wandered around, eventually landing on a certain white-haired male and your subject of affection. He watched as the duo got along well, the latter laughing at something Mammon said.
Asmodeus let out a mere hum of affirmation, mostly to himself.
"...What a waste."

A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.
