At times the aristocratic family of Balthazar Ruadh was famous for it's wealth and orthodox mentality. Married to a lovely woman, Balthazar was not a man able of such wonders as love, he was cold and stern but with incredible high intellect. With a natural predisposition to the sciences, he became a doctor and chemist. Even though his heart never moved faster or his blood never heated, he fulfilled his duty as the patriarch of the family and ten months after their wedding a baby boy came to this XIX century world. Coraline was a proud mother and blessed her firstborn with the grace of her father's name, Vincent. More children were bore in the heart of this family, after Vincent came Draco and after Draco came Ophelia and after Ophelia came Camilla. Each one of them seemed blessed with a gift of the Gods. Vincent was handsome and caring, his sisters were the light of his eyes. Draco was cold and intelligent like his father, he was his favourite. Camilla was the youngest, blessed with immense poise, every move resembled a swan. Before Ophelia, Coraline was pregnant with a baby girl but her body rejected it and one day she woke up with blood on her bed. She named the lost soul Anastasia, meaning rebirth, she believed that Anastasia and Ophelia were one, a heart pounding for two lives, a body for two souls. Ophelia was blessed with the biggest gift of all, life.
The Ruadh family became a cherished and highly respected family in their town of Aberdeen. Vincent was constantly flooded in women. A redhead or a brunette or a blonde, a older one or a newer one. It seemed that every women wanted him, even the married ones but it appeared that no other women could steal him from his sisters. His father pressured him to chose a suitable lady and marry since he turned twenty and now with twenty six years he finally was engaged. A ball was organized in honor of the so waited engagement. A huge dance hall was ornated with cheerful colours and more colours came in the dresses of maidens.

Draco inherited the women Vincent did not wanted but he seemed as interested in them as he was interested in the making of the cheese he was eating. His true love was medicine and he was loyal until the end. Camilla danced around him and smiled, she was just six but her grace was timeless in her lavender dress. She grabbed Draco's hand and asked:
-Could you give me some pudding, brother Draco?
He grabbed her by the waist and sat her on his lap. The ladies that were watching him yearned him even more. He gave her a plate with the raisin pudding and a spoon and she kissed him on the cheek and thanked. He looked at her with a slight smile and fondness in this eyes.
Ophelia smiled feeling the warmth of the rare scene. Despite being a beautiful child of the respected family, the crowd separated itself like the Black Sea for her, she was alone. Her green velvet dress with black lace made her stand out like a dove between crows but nobody dared to come closer to the dove. Drinking her wine while most of the guest were dancing, she looked at the window and saw that all the stars the Universe had were shinning in that moment, the moon was too shy to appear on the stage we call sky but was curious enough to peek, it was new moon and it meant new starts and creation. While she gazed at the moon a manly voice whispered behind her:
-Do you envy the immortal beauty of the moon, milady?
She turned to him and encountered a man so perfect that she thought someone sculpted a gift in marble for her. His hair was white and his eyes were grey, he exuded a dark light that allured Ophelia. His clothes were dark and you could feel how expensive they were just by touching them. She never saw a man this peculiar. He gave her a black rosebud and she looked at it fascinated. As she accepted it, their fingers touch and she could feel how cold his skin was, maybe he was made of marble after all.

The Loyal Ones [Dark Biopunk Fantasy]
TLDR; A slave monster survives horror, war and servitude, while trying to live with himself. Thralls are a race of monstrous slave soldiers, in a universe where biological magic takes the place of technology. Centuries ago, their ancestors were desperate humans, who volunteered to be transformed for the Poison War. Today their unfortunate descendants are still soldiers and laborers. In contract law they are 'corporate wards'; slaves owned largely by arms dealers. Dally Harper starts this story as a champion cage fighter. He is one of the 'lucky' ones. It's all downhill from there. Content Warning: Explicit violence and gore, slavery, implied sexual assault. None of these are framed as positive or glorified, however they do have a strong impact on the plot and main characters.
