《My Immortals(A One Direction Fanfiction) COMPLETED》Chapter 4

I woke up, feeling like I had been hit by a bus. I stretched and realized I felt several pairs of eyes on me. I looked around, feeling self conscious, as I noticed five attractive boys staring at me.
"How do you feel?" Harry asked as I ruffled my hair.
"What do you mean?" What made him think otherwise?
The boys exchanged glances as I puzzled over the situation, and that's when the bus actually hit me and tears welled in my eyes. I slumped and put my head in my hands, the weight of the truth too heavy for me to carry.
"Gwen, it'll be okay, you'll be okay-" Liam tried as they all crowded around me, attempting to comfort me. However, he was interrupted by a sob that escaped my mouth.
"Shhh, I know it's hard-" Louis tried, but stopped when my head snapped up and I looked right into his eyes.
"Hard? Hard is a math test you forgot to study for! This isn't 'hard'! This is beyond words!" I screamed at him as my voice broke off at the end and a sob echoed in the room.
All of the sudden, all if the boys backed away from me except one. I looked up, my sight blurry with tears, to meet a pair of brilliant, blue eyes.
"Niall-" I whispered as he put both hands on my shoulders. He put a finger to my lips before placing a hand over my heart.
I watched his eyes as they seemed to change hues, captivated by their mystery. I was so distracted that I barely noticed that I had stopped crying. I got frustrated as his beautiful eyes clouded over with a storm of emotions.
"Niall, what's wrong?" I asked as a tear slipped down his cheek.
I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned to meet Harry's eyes. "He took your pain. That's his gift."
I looked over to see Niall had a hand clutching at his chest as he slumped.
"He deals with it better..." Liam explained as Louis and Zayn both got down beside Niall to help him overcome the emotions. I moved to get up, but Harry gently pulled me back down.
"It's best to give him space."
I watched as the boys helped Niall from the ground and onto the seat beside me. Niall avoided my eyes as he curled into a ball. Silence passed as we all watched Niall, awaiting a sign that he was okay.
After what felt like an eternity later, Niall was back to being himself, only he was a bit tired.
"I'm emotionally wiped, but I'm glad the grieving is over." He announced, letting us know that is was over. I smiled ad hugged him again.
"Thanks, Niall." I said for the millionth time, still feeling like I majorly owed him.
"Don't worry about it, it's what I do best." He told me again. I smiled.
"Alright, let's get something to eat, because I'm absolutely starving!" Louis exclaimed. We all laughed as we stood and followed him into the kitchen.

We all sat down at the table in the middle of the room as the beautiful kitchen was sprawled around us. The boys stood up and bustled around, getting dinner ready.
I stood up,"What can I do?"
"Just sit there and look gorgeous," Zayn smiled at me as he worked. I perched myself on the counter and watched them all work.
At one point, Harry accidentally got some flour on Louis, who responded by throwing a handful of flour at Harry and they chased each other with flour in their hands. I giggled as Louis missed Harry and caught Niall in the back with an explosion of flour. Niall turned and grabbed some flour and joined Harry in chasing Louis. Niall threw a handful of flour at Louis, who dodged it and it all hit me. I squealed in complaint and jumped off the counter. I grabbed some flour and chased after Niall who was chasing Louis, who was chasing Harry.
"Would you guys stop messing around and help us with dinner?" Liam called, as Louis dumped flour in Harry's hair.
"Aw, come on, Li Li, lighten up!" Louis cried, and threw flour at him. Liam ducked and the handful hit Zayn in the head. Zayn's head whipped around and he growled a play growl. He grabbed some flour and threw it at Louis and we all started chasing each other. Soon, one of us happened to hit Liam and we were all chasing each other. I aimed for Niall but accidentally hit Louis, who began chasing me. I was still chasing Niall, and I missed him again and hit Zayn. Now I was running from two now. This was enough for the boys to all turn and come after me. I screamed and ran out of the kitchen, only to trip over a chair and fall face first into Zayn's arms. They all grabbed me and began to tickle me. I screamed and laughed as I gasped for air.
A timer went off and they stopped tickling me. We turned back to the flour covered kitchen. I laughed as I saw the mess we made. They used their vampire speed to go clean it up while I wiped a cabinet in my pathetic human speed. They finished the who kitchen as I finished my cabinet. The boys busied themselves again and soon, we were all sat down at the table eating a feast. I was enjoying a piece of golden chicken when Harry cleared his throat.
"You guys, I was thinking, well, I think it would be safest to move locations to keep Gwen safe and remain undercover."
"What?" I asked.
"Gwen, if we stay here, it'll be a vampire free for all. And, people will be suspicious because of the incident at school." Liam explained.
"Plus, you won't have to turn in that horrendous packet for social studies!" Niall winked at me and I laughed.
"Alright, where are we going?"
We sat at the kitchen table, talking over our plans of moving, and this whole time I felt like I should be sitting there with a goatee, stroking a white, fluffy, fat cat. You know, since we're trying to avoid the law and we were scheming.

"So, how about Paris?" Louis suggested.
I laughed, a villain would most likely go to Europe to hide,"Yeah!"
"We'll need to get Gwen a passport..." Liam pointed out.
"I'll go get an empty one from upstairs and start forging!" Zayn exclaimed as he left the room.
I yawned in my chair, the day's events catching up to me. I covered my mouth with my hand as I slumped a little in the chair.
Louis jabbed me in the side playfully, making me laugh,"Come on, Gwen! It's only ten-thirty! You can't be tired yet!"
"B-but L-Louis! I a-am!" I stuttered as he continued tickling me. "I'll go sleep on the couch, if that's okay?" I asked. But Harry stood up.
"No, it's not." He stated. Just like that. No explanation, just a no.
"Why not?"
"Because the couch is horribly uncomfortable! Come on, I'll show you to my room, where you may sleep." I blushed, not expecting him to offer me his bed.
"But, Harry, where will you sleep?"
"We don't sleep as frequent as humans." He replied with a smile as I yawned again. He took my hand and led me up the stairs that were in the kitchen. He led me through the hallways and to a door that he pushed open. I looked around. His room was dark, so I couldn't make out any of the details. Harry led me through the darkness and gently helped me onto what felt like his bed. He pulled the covers over my body and tucked me in. "Thanks for everything you guys have done for me, Harry." I whispered. He leaned down and kissed my forehead. He began to stand up, but I grabbed his arm. "Harry, please, don't leave."
He eased back down onto the bed and began to stroke my hair. "Alright, love." A few moments of silence passed between us before he spoke up again."I'm so sorry for everything you're going through right now Gwen, you don't deserve this..."
I stared up at him as he had most of his face turned away from him, hiding most of his emotions from me."It's not your fault Harry. There's nothing you can do."
"I should've protected you more, kept you hidden from that man, from all the other vampires. I never protect people enough... I'm always too late." His voice sounded broken. His words confused me, who had he let down?
"Don't blame yourself. I'm sorry for what happened in your past, but I know that it wasn't your fault. You're a great person, Harry, don't chain yourself down with guilt and blame." I paused before I wiggled to meet his eyes,"I never did thank you for saving me today..."
He have me a small smile, "It was nothing. Besides, Gemma would've killed me if I hadn't."
I laughed, Gemma used to baby sit me and Harry on weekends. I always played with Harry, but he always seemed so much older than me. All these years and he hasn't changed a bit.
He turned to look at me then, his green eyes shimmering with unshed tears."You remind me so much of a friend I had. Thanks, Gwen."
I smiled and hugged him,"You deserve more happiness, Harry."
He gentlly pressed me back down and I smiled at him before he spoke,"You need your sleep, especially after today..."
Today... Images of blood circled in my mind and I scrunched my eyes up, feeling a faint ache in my chest. Niall may have taken the fresh pain, but he can't remove them from my heart completely. I felt Harry run a hand through my hair.
"It's also not your fault, Gwen."
"Yes it is, we both know it."
"Stop it. You didn't kill your family, those beasts killed them. I know it hurts, believe me, I've dealt with plenty of loss myself... But it isn't your fault." His eyes burned with intensity as he stared me down.
"I should've just died when that guy shot at me, then they'd still be here." I muttered darkly.
"No, don't say that. Life is precious, you survived for a reason, don't ever second guess that reason. It wasn't your fault."
"Thanks," I muttered after a few moments of silence.
He smiled at me before he pulled the blankets up to my chin,"Go to sleep."
"Only if you promise me."
"Promise you what?"
"That you won't ever blame yourself for what happened... And that you'll stay here until I'm asleep." I couldn't sleep alone, not tonight. I wanted someone beside me until I fell asleep.
"I promise. Now get to sleep."
I snuggled into his side and closed my eyes. I was taken by surprise when I heard his husky voice. It was a whisper at first, but then became a bit louder but still just as lulling. Without the music, he sounded like an angel and it was more calming and more like a quiet song meant for someone you cared about. Or maybe I was too tired to figure this out.
"You're insecure, dunno what for, you're turnin' heads when you walk through the doo-oo-oor. Don't need makeup, to cover up, being the way that you are is eno-o-ough." He quietly sang to me. I was upset that I didn't get to hear the rest because sleep quickly overtook me, but Harry's song echoed through my dreams continuously. Which honestly, was the best part. His voice kept the nightmares from finding me.
A/N hello, guys! I figured that after those terribly depressing chapters, you deserve a happy one, so here it is! I really hope you liked it.
Okay, i was wondering, which one of the boys should Gwen end up with and why? I haven't decided yet and your input could really help:) Thanks!

Virtuous Sons
The saying goes that when a man is born the Fates weave his destiny and swaddle him in it. Then one day the man dies, and the swaddle becomes a shroud. Heaven moves on. It is audacity to question the Fates. Olympus is Olympus. The land of men is the land of men. To transgress that, to cross the line of divinity and scale Olympus Mons? To defy the Fates and cast off their threads? That is hubris. It’s a mark that every philosopher bears plainly on their soul. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

When he gets the opportunity to change all of that, he takes it with both hands. This is a slow burning progression fantasy. Please expect at least two chapters per week. I love writing this story but I do have unfortunate things to deal with like work and life outside of writing. I may be able to write and edit more than that, but it will never be less! This is largely still a draft. I hope to use any comments and reviews in the future. Thanks for reading!

Cycles of Ruin
Civilizations rise and fall. Kith build them up and monsters, led by powerful dungeon keepers, bring them to ruin. For three thousand years the cycle has been maintained by the Guild of Chaos and its endless hordes of minions who—in absence of their long lost creators—have taken it upon themselves to keep the realms of the universe in balance. The Guild has grown efficient at this task, but some among its ranks have begun to ponder the utility of a universe that has been robbed of the very possibility of change. Basil von Doom is one such dungeon keeper working for the Guild, leading an army of loyal minions from one conquest to the next; burning civilizations and sifting through the ruins in search of forbidden knowledge that the races of kith were never meant to possess. But having spent more than half a century in pursuit of glory and fame—trying to live up to the legacy of his father—Basil has grown indifferent towards his work. Desperate for a worthy challenge, but bound by his duties as a dungeon keeper, he has turned his mind towards uncovering the ultimate fate of the previous master of his house and the secrets that were buried with him. Now the young Master of House Doom must balance his growing interest in pursuing the trail of his father with the responsibilities that come with running a dungeon in service to the Guild of Chaos. To remain in good standing with the Guild, Basil has even accepted the task of mentoring an apprentice dungeon keeper, a young succubus named Elnora. It is at the tail end of her apprenticeship that the story begins; with a civilization poised to fall—its greatest heroes gathering for one last assault on the heart of darkness—and Basil striking up a conversation with his apprentice that will set into motion the unraveling of the universe. ***This is a rewrite and continuation of my story that was first posted on RoyalRoad a few years ago.
