《LITTLE FURY ( fairy tail. )》CHAPTER EIGHT ➵ PHANTOM BRAWL
Advertisement
At the massive Phantom Lord branch located in Oak Town, the guild responsible for the Fairy Tail guild hall's destruction was experiencing what Dealana would have called the 'calm before the storm'.
"Oh, yeah! That's priceless!"
"Those Fairy clowns got what they had coming to 'em, huh?"
"I heard Gajeel went and took out four of them himself." the laughter and conversations continued as a few Phantom members made their way to the door, wanting to join in the 'fun' of plucking some Fairy wings themselves. The hall's chatter diminished as an explosion wrecked the entrance, and when the smoke cleared, it revealed a very pissed off Natsu with the rest of Fairy Tail behind him. All of them angry and ready for a fight.
Over a dozen Phantom members leapt in the air intending to go after the fire dragon slayer without realizing just who the scarf-wearer really was. Needless to say, one fire dragon wing attack was more than enough to knock them all back with singed clothing and hair.
"Alright, who wants to play with fire?" he shouted. Both sides rushed forward with their multitude of magic attacks.
"Purple Net!"
"Here comes Smoke Crush."
"Guns magic!"
"Locked on target, Homing Shot!"
Makarov roared in anger as he used his magic to grow into a giant, swiping away dozens of Phantom wizards with the mere swipe of his hand.
"He's...a monster!" an unfortunate mage trapped under his hand gasped in fear, looking at the glowing wrath in Fairy Tail's master's eyes.
the members of Phantom Lord began to question their recent decisions and the insanity of the Fairy Tail guild's power.
"Picto Magic: Wild Stampede!"
"Wood Make Magic: Dam of Bashful Love!" Even Happy joined in the battle with a mix of his Aera magic and a vast amount of random food.
Makarov shouted.
"Tell me! Where can I find Gajeel and the Element 4?" Erza demanded, swiping through various wizards, requipped in her Flame Empress Armor. Though Dealana had grown closer with the other members of the guild, the redhead couldn't help but remember the stubborn four-year-old she taught to read, write, and a whole bunch of other things about guild life. She watched the sky-blue haired girl as she continued to grow into an independent, and strong young wizard. To see the tough Dealana, Fairy Tail's Tempest, look so beaten and then pinned to a tree like a butterfly...it sickened her. It made the Great Titania furious.
"Ice Make: Lance!" Gray took down hoards of members as an act of avenging Dealana and Team Shadowgear. Erza doubled her attack power by requipping into her Black Wing Armor. The fighting continued with a mix of ice, fire, swords, guns, wood, and other magic causing any spectators outside to wonder what the heck could possibly be happening inside the Phantom Lord guild hall.
"You're not doing too bad for being a snowman." Natsu said to Gray as they wound up back to back with Phantom members surrounding them, ready for the fire and ice duo to wipe them out.
"I could say the same about you, ya pyro." Gray shot back, "These guys are going to pay for what they've done to Dealana and Team Shadowgear."
"No doubt about it!" Natsu agreed as Makarov made his way to the upper levels in search of Jose. It wasn't long after that someone jumped down from the rafters, cackles leaving their mouth as they landed with a sinister smirk on his face. Spiky black hair, extravagant dark outfit with a metal and punk aesthetic, red eyes, and metal piercings. There was no mistake, this was Black Steel Gajeel, the one responsible for hurting Levy, her team, and Dealana.

"It's the Iron Dragon Slayer. Black Steel Gajeel." Erza uttered as they watched him stand up straight.
"You attacked Levy!" Nab shouted going in for a hit, but Gajeel's arm transformed into an iron club, much like the ones that he used to demolish the guild hall to send the Fairy Tail mage flying into the ground taking with him multiple Phantom Lord members too.
"Aw, man." Loke commented.
"What the––" Gray remarked with wide eyes, "He just knocked out his own guildmates with that attack."
"Show me what you got." Gajeel challenged as his arm returned to normal, "Unless you scum are too scared to face the great Iron Dragon Slayer."
"Too scared?" Elfman shouted in anger, "Real men have no fear!" He charged with his fist ready to punch Gajeel. As Elfman drew near to the mage responsible for hurting the little girl who had become like a third sister to him, his arm transformed into stone. Gajeel blocked the attack with his iron club arm.
"You're Elfman, right?" Gajeel asked as they engaged in short combat before Elfman caught Gajeel's iron club foot with a glare, "Ahh, not bad, big guy."
"Well, that's 'cause I'm a real man."
"Yeah? Then let's see how a real man handles this!" As Gajeel finished speaking, multiple more iron clubs extended from his already iron leg and knocked out many Phantom mages.
"They're Phantom!" Elfman realized, "You attacked your own men?"
"'Cause I knew it'd distract you." Gajeel revealed before landed a solid blow to Elfman's face and sending the white-haired brute flying back. Natsu took that oppurtunity to use Elfman as a spring board and hit Gajeel in the face with a fire dragon iron fist and sent the fellow dragon slayer flying into a wooden counter. As Gajeel looked up with a groan, Natsu was ready for him with his fire-engulfed fists.
"Allow me to introduce myself. I'm one of Fairy Tail's dragon slayers." Gajeel smirked as he stood up, "Elfman," Natsu started not taking his eyes off the red eyed dragon slayer in front of him, "leave this guy to me."
"Come on. First, you use me as a spring board, and now you want to steal my man-to-man fight?" Natsu didn't have time to respond, however, as Gajeel launched another attack.
"Iron dragon club!" Natsu used both hands to catch the club, though not before he was sent skidding back a few feet. His stands were steaming, as was the iron club of Gajeel's extended arm.
"You destroyed our guild hall...attacked Levy and her team...Dealana too." Natsu growled with his head down hiding his face. Gajeel gasped slightly as Natsu's hands were once again enveloped in flames, "I'll make you pay!"
As the dragon slayers' fight continued, Gajeel managed to knock Natsu into more Phantom guild members. "Aw, what's the matter? You can dish it out, but you can't take it?" Gajeel mocked as Natsu stood back up with a determined grin on his face.
"It's gonna take a lot more than that to keep me down."
"You seriously think you can take me, you pyro?" Gajeel challenged as a green magic circle appeared.
"What do you mean 'think'? I know that I can." Natsu responded with his own fire orange magic seal appearing.
"We'll see about that." Gajeel said shooting his iron beam at Natsu, who caught it with a fiery hand.
"Your steel beams can't even touch me. You better start stepping up your game." Natsu shouted, his hands actually beginning to melt the iron beam.

"The rumors are true. You're way more powerful than you look. Not like Fairy Tail's other dragon slayer, right?" That got Natsu's attention.
"What did you say?" Natsu questioned, a dark look flashing in his eyes, letting Gajeel know he struck the right nerve. He retracted his hand and egged Natsu on,
"The puny girl that I beat up. What'd you say her name was again? Dealana? She didn't even have the opportunity to touch me."
"I'm going to make you pay for what you did to her!" Natsu shouted as his flames grew hotter and the dragon slayers went at it again.

Dealana woke up in the hospital and immediately groaned, the memories of what happened annoyed her to no end.
"Never stop using your magic and on the day you need it most, it won't fail you. Tch, yeah right, you big ugly lizard." She uttered, trying to sit up in the hospital bed. The girl had bandages wrapped around her chest, arms, and one for her head that partially covered one of her eyes, leaving her with just the violet one. Her first action was to rip away the blanket covering her and her good eye snapped to her ankle. Letting out a breath of relief, Dealana smiled at the sight of Lisanna's bracelet around her ankle.
Next to her, were Levy and her team. Now, Dealana had never been close with them, Team Shadowgear were a bit too enthusiastic all the time for her liking, and Levy's smiles reminded her so painfully of someone else. Seeing their condition, the sky-blue haired girl released a heavy sigh.
"I'm sorry." she whispered, shuffling out of the bed, "I'm sorry I didn't protect you guys." as Dealana moved to take a step forward, she stumbled and would've fallen had she not used the bed to stabilize herself. The heterochromiac stood tall again and this time managed to walk over to the foot of Levy's bed successfully, "From one blue-haired girl to another, I promise you, Levy...that bastard is going to pay."
Dealana shuffled over to the door before she realized the state of her other belongings. Folded up neatly on a shelf to her right, was the jacket Dealana had received from Gray and Cana during her first in Fairy Tail. When it got too small for her, they got her another one, but now, that Phantom jerk had torn it up so much that normal people wouldn't wear it, however Dealana wasn't normal. As she slipped on the jacket, letting it rest over her shoulders and the sleeves dangle idly, her one good eye caught onto the shattered remains of the gauntlet Erza had first gotten Dealana. She remembered admiring Erza's shiny armor until the redhead had given her the dragon scale pattern gauntlets as another gift to welcome her to Fairy Tail.
Dealana growled and left the scraps of scale pattern metal on the shelf and heading out the door into the open air. The sky-blue haired girl breathed in deeply before she began to eat. Eat what? Eat the air. Being a storm dragon slayer enabled her to eat her element, and storms were made up of a combined singular elements, one of which was air. Dealana inhaled enough to begin recovering her magic energy faster than she normally would before moving one bare foot in front of the other and making her way to the guild hall.
She glared fiercely at the whispering passerbys along the streets before she reached Fairy Tail. The iron clubs had been removed and wooden boards took their place, however the main interior was wrecked, meaning they were still operating out of the basement.
"Come on! I'm not getting any kind of read on where Mystogan is." Dealana recognized Cana's voice as she stood at the top of the stairs, silently making her way down.
"Oh, dear. You did your best." Mira voiced reached Dealana's ears.
"If Lucy's their real target, they're bound to attack. And I would bet it's sooner rather than later." Cana remarked, "Right now we've got too many wounded to put up much of a fight."
"Master's seriously injured. And we can't seem to locate Mystogan. You're the only one left that we can turn to. Help us, Laxus." Mira's soft voice made Dealana stiffen, "We could really use you about now. Fairy Tail is in terrible danger."
"Man, Makarov is freaking pathetic." Dealana's eyes widened as she listened to Laxus laugh, "I don't see how this is remotely my problem. You're big girls so deal with it yourselves."
"So you're not going to help us?" Cana shouted at him.
"Of course not. Why would I? That senile old toad started this. Why do I have to be the one to clean up his mess?"
"Please, Laxus. Phantom's trying to kidnap Lucy and they've already seriously hurt Dealana." Mira told the lightning mage.
"Tch, who cares about the little runt? And who even is Lucy? Oh, wait. Is it that new girl?" Laxus replied, "I'll tell you what, if you can talk blondie into being my woman, I'll do anything she wants." Laxus offered and Dealana could hear the smirk on his face.
"You are such a pig!" Cana yelled.
"Are you sure you want to talk that way to a guy you're begging to help you? Do me a favor, if that geezer manages to pull through this, tell him he's over the hill and he should hand the guild over to me." Laxus began to laugh and by this time Dealana stomped over, surprising Mira and Cana.
"Your grandfather is seriously hurt and you're laughing?" Dealana spoke up, causing Laxus to stop laughing and look at the bandaged girl, "To think I ever looked up to you. If you want to be the master of the guild so bad then just leave and start your own, otherwise, do us all a favor and shut the hell up!" With that Dealana smashed the lacrima with her fist, however she took satisfaction from the shocked look on Laxus' face before she broke the communication. Dealana sighed and turned to Cana and Mira, who were looking at the injured girl in shock.
"Dealana!" Cana exclaimed while Mira immediately made the girl sit on a bar stool and looked over her already tended to injuries.
"You shouldn't be up and walking around yet." Mira scolded.
"I'm fine, Mira." Dealana told her gently before she caught sight of Lucy int he corner near Natsu, Gray, and Elfman. Dealana pushed herself off the barstool and began to make her way over, glancing at the two girls over her shoulder, "I'm not going to push myself to fight just yet, so don't worry too much about me."
As the storm dragon slayer approached, Natsu was the first to notice her and his eyes widened, "Dealana!" The others heads turned as did most of the guilds hearing her name.
"Dealana!" a whole bunch of others, including Gray and Elfman, repeated.
"Yes, that's my name! I'm fine!" She shouted at everyone when she saw the concerned and worried looks.
"Dealana, you shouldn't be moving around, even if you are manly like that." Elfman told her before Gray brought the girl into a hug.
"I'm sorry." he told her before pulling away. Dealana noticed how torn up both he and Natsu were about this before she gave him a confident smirk.
"He got the jump on me, I lost the fight. But it's not your fault and trust me when I say this, I'm not losing this war." Before any of them could respond to her prominent and malice-filled words, a crash sounded and what was left of the guild hall began to quake.
➵
I lied in the last chapter, this one is the longest. Dealana is getting back in action and she told off Laxus in a way. Things are about to get messy and Gajeel better watch his back. In other news, I recently began posting a Fairy Tail next generation fanfiction if people were interested, and I have a few other ideas for stories, not just Fairy Tail, in the works. We'll have to see what comes of my schedule once winter break is over though.
Comments? Suggestions? What do you think is going to happen next? Aside from Dealana kicking some Phantom Lord butt, of course. Kind of going through the Phantom Lord arc pretty quick, though Dealana was injured for most of it. I'm excited for the arcs to come. I don't think she'll be joining Team Natsu for the Tower of Heaven, but you can definitely count on her having a major role in the Battle of Fairy Tail.

About the Author This is my first novel or any attempt to write something so I'm pretty much a newbie trying to pen down the fantasies rolling in my mind. English isn't my First language so brace yourself for some grammatic potholes. But I'm genuinely working on improving my English but it won't be happening overnight as it's a process, I guess. (for the time being, I'm trying to make it readable with some Grammar checking software) Moreover, I wish to improve my writing skills as the story grows and readers help in spotting mistakes or critics might turn it into a reality.
