《Princess Of The Underworld》04| The Tour

The Prince looked at all of us for a couple of seconds, almost like we were from another planet, which in a way, we kind of were.
"It is so, so, so good to finally me-" He was about to approach Jay for some kind of handshake, before Jay punched him in the chest, a regular greeting on the Isle, but not here apparently, "Meet you all."
Jay smirked at him, no doubt grabbing something from the Boy's pockets, "I'm Jay."
Ben nodded, holding his chest as he shook Mal's hand.
"Mal," The girl said boredom in her voice as she looked down at her nails, "Short for Maleficent." The boy nodded, not seeming to mind Mal's cold stance.
"Hadey," I introduced myself as he walked towards me, "Princess of The Underworld."
I stuck my hand out for a handshake but he surprised me by taking my own naturally cold hand in his warm one and pressing a kiss to it.
My eyes widened in disgust and I heard Evie let out an excited giggle causing me to glare over at her.
I quickly pulled my hand out of the boy's grasp, holding it to my chest.
What had just happened?
Ben stared at me for a few seconds, his girlfriend clearing her throat in an attempt to get him away from me.
Ben nodded, continuing speaking, "This is a momentous occasion. And one that I hope will go down in history..." After Ben pulled away from his handshake with Carlos he licked his hand nervously, "Is that chocolate?"
I turned around to see the boy's face covered in chocolate, I rolled my eyes, way to make a good start.
The younger boy nodded slowly, licking his lips, "Carlos."
Ben then shook an eager Evie's hand, his girlfriend protectively behind him.

"Evie." She introduced, shooting a glare at the annoying princess, "Evil Queen's daughter."
Ben smiled at all of us, continuing on, "Today will be known as day our two began peoples to heal."
Mal looked at her nails, "Or the day that you show five peoples where the bathrooms are."
Ben chuckled awkwardly, before clearing his throat, "A little bit over the top?"
"Try a lot over the top." I mumbled, causing Ben to look over and stare at me again, before smiling softly.
"Well, so much for my first impression." We both chuckled lightly, despite his preppy-ness, he wasn't the worst. Not what I was expecting.
"Hey," Little miss princess cut in, glaring at me before looking over at Mal, "You're Maleficent's daughter aren't you? Yeah, you know what? I totally do not blame you for your mother trying to kill my parents and stuff." I traded an annoyed look with Mal, "Oh yeah, my mother's, Aurora, Sleeping-"
"Beauty!" Mal finished, "Yeah, I've heard the name. You know and I totally don't blame your grandparents for inviting everyone in the whole world but my mother to their stupid christening."
"Water under the bridge?"
"Totes!" The two giggled until it turned into a long sigh, and Mal shot her famous glare.
I let out a low whistle as Ben clapped his hands together, "Okay! How about a tour? Yeah? Auradon Prep..." He motioned towards the school as he went on about when it was built.
We stopped in front of a statue of whom I assumed was the founder of the school, King Adam, good to know he was humble. Ben clapped twice and the statue morphed from his human to his beast form, Carlos screamed then jumped into my arms, where I caught him just in time.

I growled at him, "How you doing buddy?"
Ben's voice spoke out, "Carlos, it's okay. My father wanted his statue to morph from beast to man, to remind us that anything is possible."
"Does he scratch all the furniture?" I asked as I dropped Carlos to the ground.
Ben looked at me, seriousness etched on his face, "Yeah, mom has to clip his claws every night."
I looked at him, confused. Shouldn't he have been insulted? He only smiled at me and continued on walking.
My eyes scanned the inside of the castle, it was a lot better then anything we had on the Isle.
"So you guys do a lot of magic here?" Mal questioned. She really wanted to get the wand quick. Well, I guess the faster we get the wand, the faster we get out of here. "Like wands and things like that?"
Ben nodded, I watched as Audrey clung onto his arm like he was the only thing keeping her from falling into a pit of fire, "Yeah, it exists of course, but it's pretty much retired. Most of us here are ordinary mortals."
I was just close enough to Mal to hear her mumble, "Not helpful." Under her breath.
I quickly cleared my throat, hoping that Ben or his koala of a girlfriend did hear Mal, "Yeah, who happen to live in places like this, real ordinary."
"That's true!" Audrey jumped in, putting Ben's arm around her, "Our royal blood goes back hundreds of years."
I fake-smiled, "Oh, really?" Audrey nodded, "How interesting."
Ben chuckled awkwardly as he removed his arm from Audrey and called for a boy walking down the stairs, "Doug, Doug, come down." Ben steered over a boy with glasses wearing a band uniform, "This is Doug. He's going to help you with your class schedules and show you the rest of your dorms."
Ben then looked over at me, I felt his stare as I played with the ends of my jacket, "I'll see you later okay?" I nodded at Ben's comment, "And if there is anything you need, feel free to-"
"Ask Doug." Audrey cut in chuckling lightly before dragging Ben off, leaving us with Doug.
"Hi, guys. I'm Dopey's son. As in Dopey, Doc, Bashful, Happy, Grumpy, Sleppy, and..." He paused, seemingly trying to remember his other uncle until his eyes landed on my blue-haired friend, "Heigh-Ho."
"Evie," She introduced herself, "Evil Queen's daughter."
"Okay. So about your classes, I, uh, put in the requirements already, History of Woodsmen and Pirates, Safety Rules For the Internet, and, uh, Remedial Goodness 101."
"Let me guess." Mal popped a piece of candy from the car into her mouth, "New class?"
Doug nodded, and I sighed, "Let's go find our dorms."' Mal nodded, and I followed her up the closet flight of stairs before Doug called out.
"Uh, guys, your dorms are that way."He pointed in the opposite direction, I shrugged, hopping down the stairs and towards the hall he was pointing to.
I just wanted to get the wand and get out of here.

The Heart Grows
Dungeon games? Yeah, they're a good way to waste a few hours. The trick is to know the map and plan appropriately. Of course, it doesn't matter if you get beaten. You revise your plan for that map and do a bit better next time. Man, it'd really suck to wake up as a dungeon heart in a fantasy world you know nothing about, barely able to even work out how to control your dungeon. Lucky that wouldn't happen to anybody, huh? What with only having one chance at getting things right, you'd have to plan extra-defensive. This story should be getting chapters published weekly. I have a comfortable buffer set up and on top of the weekly writing I am committing, a commissioner has donated two monthly writing slots to ensure this remains on a weekly schedule. There will be a stat block at the beginning of every chapter bar the first, and a handy map at the end. All my works come with a CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license. This means you are free to download, publish, and even make derivative works of my writing so long as you include this license, attribution, and don't sell the works. Keep it free!
