We all looked over the balcony and onto Family Day, where Ben was leading some of the others in a song.
I scrunched up my nose at the sight of all the Auradonins, not in disgust, but confusion.
It was strange to see everyone laughing and dancing with their families. Lonnie and who I assumed was her mother seemed to be having a joyful conversation by the punch bowl, I wondered if they were talking about the next time they would make cookies together.
All the parents seemed actually happy to see their kids, like they could listen to them talk about anything.
I scrunched up my nose as I caught a few words from one of Doug's cousins, Georgie, (or was it Sal?) talking about his report card. I couldn't imagine my dad actually listening to me talk about anything, let alone school.
My eyes then glanced back over to where Ben was singing his mother and father's iconic song. I felt a small smile fall across my face as I watched him carefully, he seemed so...happy.
Stop that! I thought to myself, blinking a few times. Tomorrow Ben wouldn't be happy at all, he would probably be imprisoned in some musty tower.
He would hate me.
I looked over to see Mal and Evie holding hands, I was almost...jealous of them. Even when all the villains took over, they got to stay with each other.
I shrugged it off muttering a, "Let's go." To the others as we made our way towards the celebration.
As we made our way through the crowd I stopped by the food table eyeing the strawberries. I instantly popped one into my mouth.
I handed one to Mal, who looked at it warily, "Come on," I urged her, "You'll like it."
Mal glanced at me before biting into it, her eyes growing wide as she finished it off, quickly reaching for another.
I chuckled, patting her on the back as I turned to look over at where Ben had finished the musical number, clapping for him.
"Hadey!" At the sound of my name being called I turned to see it was Ben, waving me over.
I turned to Evie, who was holding Dude, "I'll be right back."

I smiled as I walked towards Ben, him bringing me in for a hug. I hadn't minded human contact as much as I usually had, maybe just because Ben was very touchy I had gotten used to it.
"I want you to meet my parents." He whispered in my ear, I was shocked.
"Um-" I stumbled over my words, come on Hadey, you got this, "Now? Are you sure?"
He nodded, taking my hand as he lead me towards the gazebo where the king and queen stood, "Yeah, you'll be fine. Come on."
He turned to his parents, I couldn't help but notice their surprised expression, I couldn't blame them. I
wouldn't expect myself to be dating Ben either.
"Mom, dad, this is Hadey from
the Isle, my girlfriend." I smiled nervously and waved.
"Hello." Belle greeted, still shocked.
I nodded at her, "Hi, it's so nice to meet you."
"I was wondering if she could join us for lunch?" Ben asked and I internally freaked out. I could not be alone with Ben and his parents!
The Beast nodded wairly, clearing his throat awkwardly, "Well of course, any friend of Ben's is a friend of ours."
"Actually, I came with some of my friends." I turned around pointing to the gang where Carlos and Jay were licking the chocolate fountain, Evie was holding Dude, and Mal had taken the bowl of strawberries captive. Way to make a good impression guys.
"They can join us too," Belle chimed in, "The more the merrier."
I smiled, "Great, I'll go and get them."
"Uh," The Beast called, I looked back at him, "How about a round of croquet before lunch?"
I nodded, "Sure!" Why did I say that? I don't know a thing about croquet! What even is croquet?
"Game on!" Ben fist bumped his dad before putting his arm around me as went to get the others, "Have you ever played before?"
I shook my head, "It's a game?"
Ben nodded, pressing his warm lips to the side of my head, "Yeah, you'll be fine."
On the field, I stood with my mallet about to take my shot when I felt someone place their arms on my waist. Ben then placed his chin on my shoulder and I smirked at him before I shot the ball.

"Oh, that's got some distance!" I called as the blue ball went through three little hoops.
"You sure you've never played before?" Ben asked.
I twirled the croquet mallet in my hand, "Nope." I popped the P, "I must be a natural."
Ben spun me around so I was now standing face to face with him, "You must be some kind of prodigy."
We both looked at each other for a second, and I found myself slowly leaning in. I then jumped away at the sound of someone raising their voice.
I turned around to see Mal with Audrey and an older woman, this wasn't good.
"You okay?" I asked my friend as I reached her, Ben not far behind as I placed a hand on Mal's shoulder. She nodded, taking Evie's hand when she appeared beside her.
"How are you here?" The woman asked Mal, "And how have you stayed so young?" She thought Mal was her mom.
"Queen Leah, it's okay." Ben told the woman as he put his hand on my arm protectively, gesturing to Mal with the other, "Maleficent is still on the island, this is her daughter, Mal. Don't you remember my proclamation to give the new generation a chance?"
"A chance to do what, Ben?" Queen Leah asked, "Destroy us? Come on, you remember don't you? The poison apples, and the spells?"
She looked at Mal, "Spells. My daughter was raised by fairies because of your mother's curse. So her first words, her first steps, I missed it all!"
"I'm so sorry-" Mal reached out only for her hand to be slapped away by Chad Charming.
"No, stay away from her!"
Ben stepped between Prince Annoying and Mal, "Don't do this, Chad."
Chad looked at him like he had three heads, "What? They were raised by their parents, Ben." He gestured to us. "What do you think villains teach their kids? Kindness? Fair play? No way, okay? Uh-uh."
He turned to Mal, "You use gateway magic."
He looked over at Jay, "You enjoy hurting people."
Chad glanced down at me, "You stole another girl's boyfriend." I could feel the anger burning inside of me as I
scoffed.
Ben glared at Chad, growling lightly, "Hey, Hey!"
Cinderella's son then turned to Evie, "And you, you're nothing but a goldigger and a cheater."
Evie smirked, pulling her mirror from
her bag, "Mirror, mirror in my hand, who's the biggest jerk in the land?" She then pointed it a Chad, whose reflection showed himself.
"Oh, come on!" He slapped the mirror out of Evie's hand, oh he was gonna get it now.
Mal then grabbed Chad's suit collar, "Listen here you little-"
She was cut off by her girlfriend, who was staring at me, "Oh my god, Hadey..."
I looked to see that my hair was now full on flame! Carlos ran off, Dude running after him, barking.
"Hadey..." Ben reached out towards me but I stepped back, I wasn't sure what I could do and I didn't want to accidentally hurt him.
Mal took this time to punch Chad square in the jaw, causing him to howl out in pain. Jay then tackled him, the two engaging in a fight.
Carlos then returned with a bucket of water, throwing it over me, successfully putting out my hair.
Evie then jumped into the fight, spraying Chad with the perfume bottle causing him to pass out.
Whispers broke out everywhere.
"Evie did something to Chad!"
"Chad!"
"Is he okay?"
Mal grabbed Evie's hand, and my wrist, pulling me away, "Come on!" I nodded as the two dragged me off.
"Guys!" I yelled to the boys. Carlos looked warily at everyone as they stared us down, before running to catch up with me.
Jafar's son stayed rooted to the ground, his fists balled up, "Jay!" He turned towards me as I called to him, glancing over at Ben before making his way towards us.
I looked over my shoulder for a second as we ran back towards the school, seeing a heartbroken look on Ben's face.
He called out to me, but I just kept running.
