《Princess Of The Underworld》27| My Choice

My mouth dropped in a mixture of horror and surprise as Jane waved the wand around in the air, not able to control it.
"What are you doing child?" Her mother asked, reaching out.
Jane yanked the wand out of her reach, "If you won't make me beautiful, I will!"
"Everyone take cover!" The Beast yelled as sparks flew out from the wand, bouncing across the walls.
I barely noticed Ben run in front of me, as I pushed past him, grabbing a hold of the wand.
"Hadey!" Ben roared out from behind me the same time as his mother yelled out.
"Be careful!"
The Fairy Godmother's daughter and I wrestled for the wand, sparks bouncing off the walls. I yanked the magical object towards me, it flying out of the other girl's hands.
Jane fell backwards, crawling away as I looked at the wand in my hand, this is what we had been planning for.
The power of the wand seemed to be surging through me, almost as if something had been added into my veins. I bit down on my lip, resisting the wand as it tried to control me.
"Hadey," Ben took a step towards me, arms out, "Give me the wand." His words made my knees go weak, but I
stood my ground.
I took a step back, putting the wand out at arms length in front of me, "Ben, don't."
He ignored my call, reaching out, "Hadey, it's okay."
I cut him off as I shook my head, "Don't!" I glanced up at the balcony to see the gang had run off.
"I knew it!" I turned to my left, brandishing the wand out at Audrey threateningly.
I glared at her, my eyes going electric blue, "Don't even try me." She gulped, quickly stepping back into the crowd.

My eyes focused on Ben, who looked almost broken, yet he still stood tall, like a true king.
The doors bust open and I turned to see the gang running up to me.
"Come on, kid." Mal urged me from my left, glaring at the Fairy Godmother warily.
Carlos nodded, "We gotta go."
"Revenge time." Jay mumbled.
I went to turn to them, stopping only when Ben spoke up, "Are you really gonna do this?"
I frowned at the boy, blinking away water that was forming in my eyes. I knew he could never forgive me for this.
"We have no choice, Ben!" Mal shouted at the boy,"Our parents will-"
"They don't matter!" Ben raised his voice, causing me to shudder lightly as he continued, "They don't get to make choices for you. You do. So what's it gonna be?"
I looked at him carefully, thinking back to everything that had happened here at Auradon.
I had made friends, I had gotten closer to the other VK's, I played croquet, I went on my first date!
And I had so much more to learn here.
"I think I wanna be good." I mumbled to myself, though Ben must have heard me.
"You are good."
I looked over at him, not believing his words, "How do you know that?"
Ben's green eyes looked into my own, "Because, I'm-I'm listening to my heart." I glanced over at Belle, who nodded.
What was my heart telling me? It was telling me that I did not want to rule the world and be evil. I did not want to ruin lives like my father.
"I wanna listen to my heart too." I turned to my friends, "And it tells me that we are not like our parents."

"Jay," I looked at the tall boy, "Stealing doesn't make you happy, tourney and victory pizza with the team does."
My eyes wandered over to Carlos and the dog in his arms, "And rubbing Dude's belly makes you happy. Who would have thought?"
"Evie," I looked at the girl who also had tears in her eyes, "You are amazingly talented, and you do not need to play dumb."
I then looked over at my best friend since day one, "Mal, you are an amazing artist, art makes you happy, and so does being with Evie." Mal sent me a smile, taking her girlfriend's hand.
"Being friends with you guys makes me really, really happy. And I don't wanna destroy the world, I want to go to school and learn, oh god, did I really just say that?" Evie chuckled at me as I turned to face the new King, "And I want to be with Ben, because I think I love him."
Ben then looked up at me, surprise in his eyes and a wide smile on his face.
I put my fist in, "I choose good." I looked at the circle of my friends.
Jay nodded after a moment, putting his own fist in, "I choose good, too."
"I choose good." Evie smiled, putting her gloved hand in.
Mal rolled her eyes playfully, putting her own hand in, "Me too."
We all looked at Carlos, who was glancing at our hands warily, "Does this mean that we don't have to worry about our parents? Because they are going to be really mad." I chuckled, he was right. They were gonna be really, really, really mad.
"Your parents can't reach you here." Ben spoke up, and I nodded. That thought was very comforting as if dad found out about this I would be in larger-then-Olympus trouble.
Carlos nodded, putting the hand that wasn't holding dude next to Jay's, "I'm in."
We all smiled at each other, happy that we had finally found who we wanted to be.
"Hey, Pretty Boy." I called to Ben over my shoulder, cocking my head towards our little huddle, "Get in here."
I smiled as Ben walked over, putting his fist in between Mal's and my own, his other hand placing itself on my waist.
Just then a large cloud of purple smoke crashed through one of the colored windows, causing everyone to jump.
Ben pushed his way in front of me, blocking my view of what had appeared, though I recognized the voice instantly.
"I'm back!"

Being unable to even take his own life, Damien struggles to get past each day, looking for something to live for. With every passing day, Damien becomes more solemn and impassive. Three months later, Damien has almost given up, but to his surprise something unexpected happens. He is given the chance of a lifetime; to take part in a study focused on researching the effects of VR games on quadriplegic patients. Authors Note: If you find that the dialogue from the prologue to chapter 5 seem to be not that smooth, I apologize for that, it was my first time writing a fanfic so the dialogue was not in a format that is ideal. However, due to reader comments and some research I will try to attempt to improve the dialogue from chapter 6 and onwards. I may or may not come back to edit the first few chapters since I would have to rewrite most of it and I would rather spend that time writing out more of the story.
