Asher and I have been dating for a week now.

He's been so sweet to me and we've been on a date everyday ever since he asked me out.

Stella has been acting weird ever since we had an argument in the closet at the movie theater.

Easton and Emma have been spending a lot of time together, but Easton looks miserable while Emma looks smug.

Everytime Stella and I hang out she tries to find a reason to bring up Easton, but I shut it down before she can continue.

I don't hate him, but I hate how he jumped to conclusions before confiding in me first.

Me, Stella, and Asher are currently at lunch. I'm sitting beside Asher and Stella is sitting across from us and is eating her food with a pissed expression on her face.

"Babe, we should go to the ice skating rink after school" Asher says as he looks at me with excitement written on his face which causes Stella to scoff

"Amelia doesn't know how to ice skate" she deadpans which causes me to glare at her before I turn to look at Asher with a smile

"I would love to go" I say which makes him smile before he kisses me

"I'll teach you" he says which makes me nod before the bell goes off which signals the end of lunch

"Meet me at the Eastside Skate Center after school?" He asks as we dump our trays

"Yeah, Of course" I say with a smile as we walk through the double doors

We share a sweet kiss before he quickly kisses my cheek and walks into his classroom.

"Usually people with boyfriends look happy to kiss them. You look the opposite" Stella says as she walks up beside me and observes my sad expression

She's right.

I have a boyfriend, I should be happy.

But I'm not.

My life doesn't feel as complete as it did when Easton was in it.

Asher's kisses aren't as intense as Easton's.

Asher's eyes don't hold as much emotion as Easton's.

Asher doesn't make me feel as giddy as Easton does.

Asher isn't Easton.

"I just ate too much and now my stomach hurts" I say which makes Stella laugh

"Yeah, Okay" She says before we walk into our English Language Arts class.

We have this class with Easton and Emma.

Oh joy.

Stella and I are the first to get there since Asher's classes start two minutes before ours.

He's in smarter classes than us.

I decide to text him while I wait for everyone else to show up

Me- What are you learning about in your class?

Asher- The anatomy of a jellyfish

Asher- It's quite hilarious

Me- I bet it is

Asher- You seem sad. What's wrong?

Me- How did you know?

Asher- You're using smaller words

Me- Oh. Do you think that we're moving too fast?

Asher- No, Why? Do you feel uncomfortable?

Me- No, I just wanted to know how you felt about us

Asher- Are you sure?

Me- Positive

Asher- Okay. I need to get back to the lesson, I'll see you after class

I close my phone without responding. I really like Asher and I love how he's nice and caring, but I think I need to break up with him.

I'm attracted to him, but I don't love him nor do I feel like I could have a future with him.

"Amelia" I hear someone yell which causes me to snap out of my thoughts as I face the teacher

"Since you're paying so much attention to the lesson," the teacher says with sarcasm evident in their tone "you can answer this question" they say which causes me to nod my head

"What is your opinion on Romeo and Juliet?" He asks which causes me to internally groan.

We just finished reading the book Romeo and Juliet and I honestly wasn't too fond of it.

"I personally think that their 'love' was too unrealistic and random," I say which causes every student in this class to look at me with shocked expressions

This book is our teachers favorite so of course everyone is going to want to hear his reaction to this.

"Please continue" the teacher says as he places his hand on his chin and observes me

"For example, Romeo falls in love with Juliet at first glance. Juliet is set to marry another boy that she doesn't like, so she hangs out with Romeo in secret. When Romeo tries to halt a street fight, he ends up getting Juliet's cousin, Tybalt, killed which gets him banished." I say as I look around and everyone is looking at me with wide eyes except for Emma. She's rolling her eyes.

"Then Juliet is so desperate to be reunited with Romeo that she fakes her own death. Like who does that?" I say as I look at my teacher whose observing me with amusement evident on his face

"When Romeo is misinformed that Juliet faked her death, he kills himself inside of her tomb," I say as I put emphasis on the word faked

"When Juliet wakes up and sees that Romeo is actually dead, she kills herself. And in the end the families unite together and grieve" I say with an eye roll

"I just think that the decisions were stupid" I say which earns me some gasps from students

"Well I think that they had the right idea" I hear Easton say which makes me turn towards him

"What makes you say that?" I ask with confusion evident in my voice

"They both loved each other so much that they were willing to die for each other" he says as he looks at me as if there's a hidden meaning behind what he's saying

"He could've asked someone if the news was true before he killed himself. Usually someone would feel for a pulse to see if they were dead or alive" I say with an eye roll

"Well if you had more of an open mind, you would've seen that his love for her blinded his sense of reality so he did the first thing that he could think of so that they could be together again" he says with an angered expression

He can not get mad at me for having a an opinion.

"Well maybe if you were realistic and not so hardheaded, you would've noticed how unrealistic it is to fall in love with one look" I say as I glare at him

I heard some laughs and snickers around us, but I ignore them.

This is between Easton and I, right now.

"Well maybe if you weren't so against love then you would know that what they had was real" he says in a defensive tone

Is he even talking about the book anymore?

"How am I against love? I do love and what they had was just a phase" I say which makes him stand up with anger in his grey eyes

"You wouldn't know what love was even if I stood in front of you. What they had was more than a phase" he says which makes me stand up and glare at him

"You're standing in front of me right now and I love you. Of course what they had was more than a phase, but everyone around them thought it was a phase" I say as tears of frustration fall out of my eyes

I'm angry, annoyed, frustrated, confused, and hopeful.

I'm very emotional right now so I'm not surprised that tears are falling out of my eyes.

"I love you and I never thought it was a phase so why would you care about what everybody else thinks?" He says with frustration and confusion as he walks up to me

I think we both forgot that there's a whole class watching us.

But to be fair, the teacher hasn't stopped us.

"Because they're right. It was never going to work out" I say which causes him to try to hold my face but I shake his hands off

"It could've worked out. It would've worked out" he says in a sad but hopeful tone of voice

"No, because someone else would've came along and tried to ruin it" I say which makes him grab my face so that we're looking into each other's eyes

I'm breathless.

His eyes are holding so many emotions right now.

"I wouldn't have let them" he says with a serious tone. I reach up and remove his hands from my face before I wipe my tears

"You already did" I say with a sad tone before I walk around him and out of that class.

When I walked around him he looked like I just punched him in the stomach and said that I crashed his car.

He looked worse than heartbroken.

Now he knows how I feel.
