Sophie POV
So my friends are coming over for a sleepover today and I'm getting ready. I finished getting dressed and skip downstairs. "Hey sweetie." Mom said kissing my forehead sitting down a plate of pancakes, eggs, and bacon with a glass filled with orange juice. "Hey mom." I said sitting at the table eating. "Where's my pal Sophie!" Austin said walking in. "Remind me to lock the door." Mom said causing me to laugh. He rolled his eyes hugging me taking a bite of my pancakes. "Here how about you have my plate."I said seeing him killing my pancakes. "Well if you assist." He said eating the rest. I laughed at him drinking my orange juice. "Wanna hang today sense I'm free." He asked. "The girls are coming over, but you can hang with us." "Yeah sure."he said smiling pinning my down tickling me. "Stop!" I laughed trying to get free from his grip. The door bell rung and mom laughed opening it and in came five girls, Bri, Chelsea, Alicia, Emma, and Charlotte smiling big. "Hey girls!!" I yelled getting up. "Hey!" They yelled back running over to Austin. "I'm right here."I said standing there while they were drolling over my uncle. "Yeah." Wow did they just blow me off. I choose to ignore what just happened and climb into the car while mom was pulling out the drive way while uncle Austin was in the front seat. The whole ride was all about Austin this Austin that I mean come on my uncle isn't that cute! To be honest it was getting on my last nerves. We arrive to the playground. "Do Austin have a girlfriend." Alicia asked smiling hugely. All the girls wanted to know. "Um not that I know of even if he doesn't you girls are too young for him." "We know that." "Who wanna shoot some hoops!?"asked uncle Austin. The girls went running towards him leaving me all alone on the swings. Mom walked over towards me,"Why aren't you playing I thought you love playing basketball." "Not right now I don't." I said watching them laugh and play. After the playground we went out to eat and now we're back home it was getting late out and the girls were getting their sleeping bags out. "So you girls want to watch a movie." I asked sitting on the edge of my bed. "Sure." They said causing me to smile. We walked downstairs towards the living room. "Movie time!" Uncle austin said jumping on the couch. The girls squealed cuddling towards him. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! I got myself up from the couch walking towards the door looking back. They didn't even notice me getting up. I walked out the doors not looking back.

Morgan POV
I walked into the living room seeing the girls all over Austin. The girls have been spending a lot of time with him. "Um where's my daughter?" I asked not seeing her. "Don't know." They said. I turned off the TV standing in front of it. "One more time, where's my daughter?" I said. Austin stood up,"She was just right here." "Well she's not right their now." We checked the whole house not finding her. I started panicking.
Sophie POV
It was getting darker and colder so I made my way back home walking inside being tackle with hugs. "Ummm."I said trying to get loose. "Where have you been!?" Mom said furious. "A walk." I said walking away. "It dark out!" She said stopping me. "Mom I'm eleven calm down its not like no one would even realize I was gone." I said staring at the girls and my so called uncle. "What do you mean of course we would."said Brianna and the girls. "Oh really."I said rolling my eyes. "What's your problem."asked uncle Austin. "My problem!? Ha this is my sleepover not we not you, but mines and you ruined it! This whole day was about you and no one wanted to hang with me. Worst sleepover ever, you girls can go home now I'm done." I said running upstairs slamming my room door getting in bed. The weird thing is I felt bad for what I said. What if I hurt their feelings.....
Austin POV
I was so busy trying to chill with Soph friends I forgot what I actually came here for and that was to spend time with her. We were all speechless.....
Morgan POV
I walked upstairs after Sophie and walked in seeing her cry. My heart broke. I walked over to her sitting her on my lap and hug her rubbing her back. "I didn't mean to yell." I said feeling sorry. "It's okay mom." She said hugging back. I smiled. "Sophie we both know Austin can ruin a lot of things." I said causing her to laugh as she nodded her head. "But I don't think he tried to ruin your day with the girls. You should talk to him." "I guess."she said jumping up holding onto my hand. We walked downstairs.

Living in Paradise
The first thing I saw when I woke up was a group of people standing over me shouting "Happy Birthday!!!". Immediately after they start debating what type of world I came from and calling me 'William'. Later on I would learn that everyone here is reborn from another world and many children come with magic or superpowers or other gifts leftover from their old lives. I came from a world that was, to me, typical modernity. To them it was pretty boaring with the only thing interesting about my world being was a higher than average tech level for a non-spacefaring civilization; technology that wouldn't even work in this new world. All I brought with me was a peculiar mindset and the strong suspicion that there must be something more to life. Once everyone started to clear out my mother took me up in her arms, explained how the world works, and then stabbed me in the neck with a knife. I got better. -------------------- This story was written from the central idea of a simple question: What if a videogame like world, with all the normal video-game staples and tropes, was actually a real world? How would that work? How would people understand the universe around them? What sort of weirdness would the world appear to have from the point of view of someone who recognizes the odd nature of the place? And finally, if left to its own devices, how would this type of world ultimately develop?

Makemake
"Makemake—a planet that is found in the far edges of the system known as Sol—was once a metropolis, like all of the other planets that populate the system. Now, like all of the others, it lies as a Sleeping City, forever dormant. No one lives there anymore—it has been vacant for years. In one of the massive cities that used to have a population that was in high numbers a sound could be heard. A distant sound. A beep, or a call, a message—whatever it was, it was an electronic noise. It echoed through the dust cloud filled landscape. The sound went on for a long time. It sat in a sea of quiet; no other noise rolled over the hills and bounced off the ground—only that noise. Only that beep."
