Her defiant green eyes made me smirk. Taking a drag from my cigar I take a seat as we begin to haul down to Dallas.

Taking out my phone from my jeans pocket, I quickly text Amelia. Letting her know we're on the road. Ah, Amelia, the slut of the pack. Biggest fucking attention whore I've ever met.

But, as Alpha, I needed to keep my women close. Amelia being the whore that she was, I had to keep her a hell of a lot closer. She fancied herself Omega. I knew that's all she wanted. As soon as she'd see me she'd fall into a facade of submission and love. However, as soon as my back was turned she'd fuck the next male that sniffed her arse.

Sensing movement, I flick my eyes up. Watching as the woman takes a seat by the window and stares out like a lost puppy.

Taking a moment to study her face, my hungry gaze roams her unique features. Eyes like emeralds, hair a light pink. Her cherry lips drawn down in stubborn defiance. She really was something else.

Clearing my throat I go back to my phone. Trying not to think about that soft, delicate skin pressed hard against mine.

A few moments later the silence was broken, I heard a low growl and I looked at its owner. The girl bared her teeth out of the window. Frowning I glare out to see what the fucking problem was. Lycans. Wolves turned monsters. Ferocious bastards who hunt anything down and rip them apart.

Groaning, I call my pack to attention. Stopping the van and piling out in the desert.

The battle was fierce. Claws, jaws and guns everywhere. Focusing on one of them wasn't possible. There were too many.

Raising my gun I shoot one in the head that was about to slash through one of my family members. Then, turning as I hear a roar, I see a machete flying past my face and into a Lycan that was inches away from stabbing me in the back with its claws.

The girl. She saved my life. Why?

I watch as she launches herself into the crowd of lycans and slash her way through them like butter. Blood and heads flying everywhere. Red staining the hot, desert sand.

My heart races. My hands clench into fists as my eyes turn a deep gold. Watching her elegant form as she moves. Spiralling, clawing out eyes and guts.

Smirking I chuckle. Shaking the moment off and getting my head back in the game.
