《Control [Carlisle Cullen]》0.4

Eleanor's pounded her fist against Angela's front door. She took it away after a couple of knocks, and crossed her arms. Bella had texted Eleanor and told her that Angela wanted her to come to her house.
The door swung open, revealing Angela and Bella. El raised an eyebrow at the two of them, waiting for someone to explain why she was needed.
"Come in!" Angela motioned behind her, "we're making graduation announcements."
"Sounds fun!" Eleanor smiled, trying to sound excited. In reality, she was upset that she had to leave Carlisle so soon. At least she'd be spending time with friends.
The three of them walked up the stairs to Angela's room. Eleanor plopped down on the bed, and grabbed a piece of the paper from the bed. She examined it, and smiled softly, "these look good, Ang."
"Thanks! Bella helped too," Angela said, and the two looked over at the girl.
Bella was staring down at the duvet, with a concentrated look on her pale face. She looked upset. Angela and Eleanor shared a concerned look.
"What's wrong, Bells?"
The girl looked up at the others. She sighed, "Edward's just been bumming me out about Jacob."
El narrowed her eyes at Bella. While she was annoyed with Jacob for continuing to pursue Bella, she was annoyed at Edward as well. Edward couldn't trust his mate at all, and of course that was going to drive Bella insane.
"Bella, he's probably jealous," Angela laughed, "he's reacting like any other teenage boy would."
"I guess you're right," she mumbled, "I just wish he would trust me."
She looked towards Bella, who raised her lips slightly. Angela made it sound normal; if only she knew the actual circumstances.
"Do you need me to take you home?" Bella asked as soon as they stepped out of Angela's house, "or is Carlisle picking you up?"

"Neither, actually," she said, walking away from Bella, and towards the car she was borrowing from Carlisle.
Bella 'ohhed' and turned to get into her truck, when Eleanor called her back. The brunette was now sitting in her small car, staring up at Bella. "You know why Edward keeps freaking out right?"
"What do you mean?" She frowned
"Jacob's in love with you, Bells. He thinks that there's some chance that he can make you leave Edward," Eleanor told her friend.
Bella stared at Eleanor in shock. Sure, she might've known Jacob had some feelings for her before, and maybe she had them too for a short while, but she always thought it was a short thing. She knew she'd never date Jacob.
"Oh," Bella said, "oh."
Eleanor stared at her friend with a sad look, before she closed the car door. She felt weird that Bella hadn't realized that Jacob still had feelings for her, and she felt weird telling Bella.
El leaned her head against her hand, keeping her other on the steering wheel. She was just glad that it was off her chest now, and Bella could maybe confront the boys.
The girl pushed her thoughts of the three out of her head, and pulled into her driveway. She parked the car and began to walk up the steps to her door. The house was quiet - as usual - so Eleanor headed straight for her room.
When Eleanor entered, she saw Carlisle sitting on her bed, looking over her notebooks. He picked his head up at the sound of the door opening, and raised his lips. Eleanor walked over to him, and collapsed on the bed.
With a raised eyebrow, Carlisle looked down at his mate, "what'd you guys do?"
Her voice was mumbled due to her face being shoved into the duvet.

"Sorry?"
She lifted her head, and sighed. Before Eleanor answered, she re-positioned herself and crossed her legs, "we just made graduation cards."
"So why do you look so upset?" He asked, concerned.
"I told Bella that Jacob was in love with her. I guess I shouldn't of though, I mean it's not really my business," Eleanor said.
"Ah," Carlisle answered. He reached forward and grabbed Eleanor's hand, before pulling her into his side. The doctor released her hand, and wrapped his arm around her shoulders.
"I'm just going to stay out of it," Eleanor decided, "I shouldn't have said anything."
"It's better she knows instead of wondering why the two boys are always fighting," Carlisle told her and kissed her head, "maybe telling her was somewhat of a good thing."
"Yeah," El mumbled, "we'll see about that."
Eleanor walked out into the parking lot with her sister. The school day was finally over, and all Eleanor wanted to do was sleep. School was really starting to take a toll on her.
Just as she was about to get in the car, her phone dinged. She looked down at the new message from Alice, and sighed as she looked at her sister. Jess gave her a look.
"Which Cullen is that?" Jess asked, with a raised brow.
"Alice," Eleanor answered, "she wanted me to come over, but if you want to hang out, I'll tell her no."
Jess was silent for a moment, before she shook her head. Jessica shot her sister a small smile, "it's alright, Ellie. Go and spend time with her. We've got our whole lives to spend together, right?"
Eleanor's breath hitched in her throat, and she smiled tightly, "Right. I'll, um, see you later, Jessie."
Before she walked over to Alice, Eleanor sped over to the driver side and wrapped her twin in a hug, "I love you."
"Um, yeah love you too, Eleanor," Jess awkwardly patted her back, "now go. They're waiting for you."
After one last smile, she took off in the direction of Alice's car. She noticed Bella in the passenger seat, and smiled at the brunette once she was in the backseat. Alice turned back to face Eleanor.
"The boys left earlier for a hunting trip, so I thought it'd be fun to have a sleepover. It's just us and the girls. I doubt Rose or Esme will hang around with us that much though, they'll probably lock themselves away and-"
"Alice, we get it," Eleanor said, amused, "let's go."
Alice drove to her house. No one spoke, but Eleanor could feel the tension between Alice and Bella in the car. She wondered what had happened to make Alice want to have this sleepover.
The house seemed quieter than usual, Eleanor could tell before she even got out of the car. While she was happy to be spending time with the girls, she was upset that Carlisle wouldn't be near the house.
While Bella stormed up the steps into the house, Eleanor pulled Alice back by the arm, "is there another reason why we're having this sleepover?"
Alice sighed, and glanced up the steps where Bella disappeared, "Edward's out of town this weekend, right? He wanted me to keep an eye on Bella to make sure she didn't go back to the reservation. They had a big fight last night."
Eleanor scoffed, "he still won't trust her around him?"
"Well Jacob showed up at Bella's last night, as well," Alice replied, "Bella told them she was Team Switzerland."
"Switzerland, my ass." Eleanor rolled her eyes. "Let's get inside."

In Pursuit of Glory
I felt a huge physical force slam into my back. I didn't have any time to think as I rocketed into the wall and felt the drywall dent beneath my body. Letters from a Dying World
Times historic are often penned after the fact in the lifeblood of the pitiful, forgotten masses. That roiling, uncountable crush of humanity, they who held the pikes and they who threw down the tyrants. Their veins opened by gazes academic, sharp and cruel, and pecked away at with quills, written out of their own story. The Second Dark Crusade was a time of such poignancy. A time when the light of man waned and flickered, choking in the acrid smoke of its own inadequacy. As befitting of such an age it has been covered more than a capital whore, and so I attempt not to tell that story again. That story of dull, unfeeling analysis. Neither here will you find the browbeating, propagandistic screeds so common in the hands of men, the light of youth still burning behind their eyes. Nay, here I shall attempt to cover fresh ground, not tread on the grave dirt of long dead authors. Here I shall attempt to tell the story of the small lives caught, unbeknownst to them, in the great and torrential downpour that we now call history. Here lies the true story of The Second Crusade. - Loremaster Ip'Qal
