《Control [Carlisle Cullen]》0.4

The husband and wife had been home for two weeks. The house had been filled with confused vampires and humans for two weeks. How was it possible that a human could get pregnant by a vampire? Eleanor couldn't stop the questions that filled her head. Vampires were technically dead so how could it happen?
Bella laid on the couch, with Rosalie and Eleanor beside her. The family had been thinking about what to do with Bella's situation. After just a couple weeks, Bella already looked five months pregnant. The baby was growing fast.
Eleanor was scared for Bella. She was her best friend, and she was dying right in front of her. Eleanor always thought Bella's death would be simple, fast. But now it seemed like it was going to be more painful, and she didn't even know if she would wake up.
Carlisle and Edward sat up suddenly, and Carlisle quickly rushed downstairs. Eleanor and Bella shared a look. She could hear the front door being opened, and soon she heard footsteps rushing up the stairs.
Her eyes widened when she saw Jacob emerge from the staircase. His eyes narrowed on Bella, and she gave him a sheepish smile, "I'm glad you came."
He took a few steps closer before Rosalie stood in front of him, "close enough, dog."
"What's your problem?" Jacob growled.
"Rose, it's okay," Bella assured. Rosalie sighed but moved so Jacob could see Bella.
Eleanor took Carlisle's hand and squeezed it as she watched Jacob crouch in front of their front.
"You look terrible," he smirked, and Bella scoffed.
"Yeah, nice to see you too, Jake." Eleanor smiled at the two of them.
"So, are you going to tell me what's wrong with you?" He asked, and Bella looked at Rosalie.
"Rose? You wanna help me up?" The vampire moved to Bella's side and took her hand. Bella grabbed her stomach and pushed herself off the couch. Her blanket fell to the floor and revealed Bella to Jacob.
He stared at her for a moment before setting his glare on Edward. He began to walk to the boy, "you did this!"

"We didn't know it was even possible!" Carlisle said as Emmett stopped Jacob.
The wolf looked at Carlisle with a helpless stare, "what is it?"
"I don't know," Carlisle's shoulders sagged, "ultrasounds and needles won't penetrate the embryonic sac."
"I can't see it either," Alice said, "and I can't see Bella's future anymore."
"We've been researching legends but there isn't much to go on. All we know is that it's strong and fast growing," Carlisle told him. Eleanor stared down at Bella as she settled back on the couch.
"Well why haven't you done anything? Take it out of her!" Jacob shouted.
"This is none of your business, dog," Rosalie spat.
"Rose!" Esme gave her a warning, but the blonde only rolled her eyes.
"All the fighting isn't good for Bella," Eleanor said, agreeing with Esme.
"The fetus isn't good for Bella," Alice countered.
"Say the word Alice. Baby, it's just a little baby!"
"Possibly," Jasper muttered, and Eleanor shook her head.
"Carlisle, you have to do something," Jacob pleaded.
"No! It isn't his decision, it isn't any of yours," Bella said, annoyed at the group of them.
"Jacob, I need to talk to you," Edward stood and began to walk outside. Jacob sent another look to Bella before following her husband. Eleanor set her hand on Bella's shoulder, and stood from her seat.
"Do you need anything, Bells?"
"No. Thanks, Eleanor."
Bella cuddled into her blanket more, and Eleanor walked to Carlisle's room. She jumped on the bed with a sigh and stared up at the ceiling. She closed her eyes a moment later, and tried to sleep to escape her thoughts.
Unfortunately, the bedroom door opened, interrupting her process. She picked up her head to see Carlisle enter the room. With a soft groan, Eleanor sat up and opened her arms. Carlisle smiled as he sat next to her.
She pulled him into her and sighed, "what are we going to do?"
"It's not our decision," he told her, "if Bella wants to try this, then we won't be able to change her mind."

Eleanor turned her head to look at him. Golden eyes met blue as Eleanor asked, "but what if she dies?"
Carlisle only frowned and pressed a firm kiss to her forehead.
Eleanor found herself back on the couch that evening. Her eyebrows were drawn together in worry. She couldn't believe what Jacob was telling them.
"The treaty is void, at least in Sam's eyes," Jacob said.
"Not it ours," Esme told him.
Eleanor looked over at her and Carlisle, "no one has hunted in weeks, guys. You guys can't wait forever."
"We'll make do," Carlisle assured his mate before turning his attention to Jacob, "you've done us a great service, Jacob. Thank you."
He nodded at Carlisle. Jacob glanced at Eleanor briefly, and then looked over at Bella. He went over to her, while Eleanor moved to Carlisle's side.
"Are you crazy?" She asked, softly.
Carlisle furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, "what're you talking about?"
"You have to hunt, Carlisle. No one will be able to fight against the wolves if you're weak."
"You're worrying too much," he chuckled, and smoothed her hair back.
"You're not worrying enough!" Eleanor argued. She sighed, "what if you all went hunting while the wolves and I protect the house. They could distract the pack or something."
He stared into her eyes for a moment, and then looked away, "we'll think about it if this goes on for too long."
Eleanor only rolled her eyes, and looked out the window. Sam's pack was out there somewhere. They were planning on killing Bella.
Her eyes narrowed as she thought about their plan. Her friends were planning murder on Bella and an innocent baby. Never in a million years would Eleanor thought of something like this happening.
But it was, and no one knew what the outcome would be.
"Are you coming in?" Carlisle asked.
He was about to go and check on Bella and her baby. Bella had continued to ask Eleanor if she wanted to come, but she always refused. She felt like she was invading.
Eleanor chewed on her bottom lip for a moment before she nodded. Carlisle held the door open for her. She walked towards the table that Bella laid on, and smiled at her.
"Hey El," Bella said. Her skin was so pale, she looked blue. Her lips were chapped, and her hair was thinner. She was dying.
"Hey Bells," Eleanor looked away from her and at Carlisle. He gave her a look before starting her checkup.
After a few moments, the doctor looked away from his screen and towards the group. He looked down at Bella with sad eyes, "your rib is cracked. But there are no splinters, which means you haven't punctured anything yet."
"Yet," Edward said, bitterly.
"Edward," Carlisle shook his head at his son.
He ignored Carlisle and turned his focus to Bella, "it's breaking your bones now. It's crushing you from the inside out. Carlisle tell her what you told me."
Eleanor looked from Edward to Carlisle with a raised brow.
"Carlisle, tell me. It's alright."
Carlisle sighed, "the fetus isn't compatible with your body. It's too strong. It won't allow you to get the nutrition you need - it's starving you by the hour. I can't stop it and I can't slow it down. At this rate, your heart will give out before you can deliver."
Eleanor bit her lip, and blinked her eyes quickly. She looked down at Bella, who was shaking her head, "then I'll hold on as long as I can and then-."
"Bella," Carlisle interrupted her, "there are some conditions that even venom can't overcome. You understand? I'm sorry."
A tense silence filled the room. Eleanor shared a tearful look with Carlisle, who only stared back at her with a grim look. She looked down at her friend for a second, and then walked out of the room with her fingers pressed against her lips.
Carlisle followed behind her, and closed the door behind the two of them. He embraced her and Eleanor began to let the sobs escape her mouth. She clutched onto Carlisle, and continued to weep for her friend.

Of Gods and Dungeons
March 16, 2021 - Hiatus note: I will come back to this story! I'm really struggling with it, though. It's been a number of years and I kind of forgot what the original outline was. I still remember the main path, but not any of the details, because I stupidly didn't write an outline. Progress is being made. I'd like a very decent sized buffer before I start posting again. Don't want to get hopes up only to immediately disappoint! ----- Amy Barnes, an aspiring chemical researcher, finds herself dying from cancer. One of her most desperate prayers is answered in a way that she'd never dreamed possible, and she finds herself living a new life as a dungeon. Warning: Violence, morbidity Cover: Taken from here, courtesy of www.pexels.com by photographer @tookapic. Author's Note: I've read some dungeon core stories on here, and they've tickled my fancy. I've thought up a whole story, start to finish, and thought it'd be a blast to put it into words. Other than the violent and morbid aspects, this story is suitable for children. Aside from the vocabulary, that is. I will avoid the temptation to have any cursing, sexuality, or gore. Excessive gore, I suppose - it is a dungeon story, after all. I’ll do a little research from time to time, but this story will not have a great deal of rigor. I’ve made Amy’s knowledge comparable to my own for that reason. There’s a few things she knows more about than I do, and a few things that she knows less about. Unlike me, she doesn’t have access to Google - it’s a non issue for her to be more knowledgeable than me, on occasion :P This story does not use the same magic system that I’ve used in either Sorcery in Boston or A Summoner’s Confession. This one is mostly intention based, and designed to be easier access for people who are more used to the idea of, “It’s magic, therefore it works” kind of thinking. Do note that Amy is, in most senses of the term, overpowered. This goes along with the usual dungeon core stories. She’s not more powerful than other dungeons per se, but she does have knowledge and intelligence that puts them to shame. I thought about doing this in a LitRPG style, but systems take balance, and I wanted this to be pure fun to write. This story was inspired from a few sources. Despite the title, it wasn’t really inspired by Of Mice and Men, though some of the themes match. Rather, I’ve taken inspiration from a few dungeon core novels on Royal Road Legends for the main idea. Many conventions of dungeon core stories have been perverted from the genre, however. I’ve taken my usual science-loving self to town to play around with the powers, and I can only hope you have half as much fun reading this as I have had writing it.

Can you visit a land where mountains look like freshly baked phyllo dough, or live in a castle bigger than my apartment complex? Tigers instead of taxes. Monsters instead of men with too much power. Once you go Wuxxia you never go back. [Not a Parody but moreso a revised wuxxia.]
Robert Nord wakes up from a deep sleep, one he regreted to ever take. Instead of waking up to his well-known, stark, eggshell-white ceiling, atop his luxurious 800€ mattress with down feather duvet and fluffy cushions, he finds himself staring at molden planks of wood, a stench of sweat, blood and iron mellowing in the air. A world of swords that sunder oceans and fists that crack mountainsides. This is a world known throughout the dimensions, a world of wuxxia and xianxia. (This fiction will be parodying many a wuxxia and hopefully do a good job with it. Not only will I try and stress the most ridiculous down-sides of wuxxias but I will also take a shot at making it enjoyable while I'm at it. And don't be fooled by the Lit-RPG tag, after all, every MC needs his secret weapon, regardless how much they try to deny it.)
