《Control [Carlisle Cullen]》0.5

Eleanor rested her head on her hand as she drove down the street. Rain poured around her car as she drove the short distance to her mother's. She had to get out of the Cullen house - she couldn't stand the tension and energy that surrounded it now.
She had already missed a week of classes. Eleanor knew she had to go back, but it was hard with Bella dying. All she wanted to do is be there with her friend.
But now since Carlisle was at work, the house was suffocating. Which is why she was going to visit her mom. She hadn't been over since she told her of the engagement, and she wanted her mother's opinion on things for the wedding.
Even though Eleanor knew they wouldn't be getting married for a while, she wanted something to take her mind off things. Plus, she was excited to plan, even if she didn't show it much.
Once Eleanor parked her car, she took a deep breath and prepared herself to run through the downpour. Without another thought, the witch opened her door and sprinted to the front door. She threw it open, and walked inside, closing it behind her.
"Mom, I'm home!" She called, setting her bag on the bench.
"I'm in here!" Mrs. Stanley replied.
El made her way to the sitting room. She smiled at her mom, who was sitting in front of the small table with a notepad and pens. Jess was next to her, with her phone out and a pen in her hand.
"Come sit down, Ellie," Mrs. Stanley patted the seat beside her, "me and Jess have a few ideas."
"You guys have more planned than I've even thought of," she joked, making her way over to them.
"My little girl is getting married!" Mrs. Stanley exclaimed, "of course I'm ahead of you in planning!"
Jessica and Eleanor just laughed at their mother. El leaned her head on her mom's shoulder, and peered at the notes in front of her. She frowned for a moment, "how did you know I wanted a spring wedding?"
"Mother's intuition," she winked, "spring's always been your favorite season."

"Yeah, it has," she murmured. Eleanor hadn't talked to Carlisle about getting married in the spring, but she was sure he wouldn't mind. And honestly, as long as she married him she didn't mind either.
"Have you thought of colors? Or what you want your dress to look like? Or who your maid of honor or bridesmaids are going to be? Or-" Eleanor cut her mom off with a laugh.
"I haven't had time to think of anything!" She giggled.
"Well, what have you been doing this past week then?" Jess asked, curiously.
The smile faded from Eleanor's lips, "um, Bella's been really sick. We've been trying to take care of her."
"Is she going to be okay?" Mrs. Stanley asked, worriedly.
Eleanor only shrugged, a frown forming on her face, "I don't know."
After hours of wedding planning later, Eleanor was finally back at the Cullen's. It was unusually quiet, and Eleanor wondered where everyone had went. Not even the television was on.
She walked through the kitchen, looking for anyone, when she heard a whine from Bella. El quickly walked to the sitting room, and found Bella alone on the sofa.
"Bella?" She moved over to her side, "where is everyone?"
"With Jacob's pack," she winced again, "they should be back soon."
"Do you need anything?" Eleanor asked.
Bella shook her head, sighing in relief. She leaned back on the sofa and closed her eyes. Eleanor stared at her friend for a second longer, and began to stand up, "Eleanor?"
"Hmm?"
"You know how you said you could look into people's minds?" Bella asked.
"Yeah..." Eleanor said, uncertainly, "why?"
Bella opened her eyes again and looked at her bulging stomach, "d-do you think you can look into his?"
Her eyes widened at Bella's request, "I can try."
The witch sat down next to Bella again, and gently laid her hand on Bella's stomach. She met Bella's gaze for a moment, before closing her eyes. Eleanor's mouth fell open slightly, and her head tilted in amazement.
Eleanor's mind slowly explored the child's mind. She couldn't exactly see the baby, but she could feel them.

Girl. Their child would be a little girl. She was happy, and she was healthy. But Eleanor could also see what she was doing to Bella. Eleanor could feel how hungry the child was. Edward was right - she was destroying his wife from the inside out.
Eleanor opened her eyes, clearing out images from before. She looked over to Bella, who was looking at her with an expectant gaze. Eleanor didn't know what to tell her, there wasn't much that she saw.
Eleanor smiled softly, but shook her head, "they're happy, Bella. I couldn't see anything, though. I just felt them."
"He's happy?" She asked, laughing softly.
Eleanor bit her lip to keep from telling her what her baby was, but nodded. Bella smiled, widely, and began to cradle her stomach, "of course you're happy."
El watched Bella as tears started to form in her eyes. She wondered if her friend would ever be able to talk to her daughter, face to face.
She didn't have too much time to dwell on her thoughts, since the family began to crowd in the room. She noticed Jacob behind them, and softly smiled at him. Eleanor stood, and walked to Carlisle, wiping the tears from her eyes.
"What's wrong?" Carlisle frowned.
She shook her head, "nothing. It's just been a long day."
"What'd you do at your mother's?" He asked.
Eleanor grinned, looking up to meet his eyes, "we planned for the wedding."
"Without me?" He teased.
"Without you," she winked, "you can come next time."
"I will," Carlisle promised, before placing a soft kiss on her lips.
The couple was interrupted when they heard Bella let out a sharp gasp. Eleanor turned on her heel and stared at her friend in panic. Bella's hand grabbed at her stomach, and her face was pinched in pain.
"we need to find a way to get some food in her system," Esme said.
"If only I could see the fetus,-"
"Baby," Rosalie cut Alice off with a glare.
Alice ignored her, "maybe I could see what it wants."
Eleanor pursed her lips, and looked down at the floor. She knew exactly what the baby wanted, but the thought of Bella drinking blood as a human sickened her.
"I think you might be right," Edward spoke suddenly. Eleanor picked her head up to see him staring straight at Jacob, "Jacob just had an idea."
"It wasn't an idea," he scoffed, "it was a snide comment."
Eleanor raised her eyebrow, as Carlisle spoke, "what were you thinking?"
"That it's just looking for something to sink it's teeth into." Eleanor looked to the floor again. The room fell silent as they processed the information.
"He's thirsty," Bella realized.
"I know the feeling," Emmett commented, and Eleanor wrinkled her nose.
"If it's craving, it's not going to want animal blood," Edward shook his head, looking up at Carlisle.
"I have some O negative blood laid aside for Bella," Carlisle said, and walked towards his office. Eleanor's eyes widened.
"Wait, you're going to make her drink blood?" She exclaimed, as Carlisle made his way back into the room. He carried a Styrofoam cup in one hand and a blood bag in another.
Eleanor watched him pour the blood in the cup in disbelief. She closed her mouth and placed a hand over her lips. She was disgusted.
"I'm gonna be sick," Jacob muttered as he moved away from Bella.
"Yep, me too."
"Are you okay with this?" Edward asked, and Bella nodded.
"I'll try anything," she said, and Carlisle handed her the cup.
Bella took a deep breath, and slowly raised the straw to her mouth. Eleanor watched as her friend began to sip the blood from the cup, and made a face at Bella. She pulled the straw away from her lips and looked up at her husband.
"It tastes... good."
"Oh, my God," Eleanor mumbled and closed her eyes as Bella took another sip.
She reopened them to see Carlisle sit next to Bella. He took her wrist in his hand, and smiled at the girl, "your pulse already feels stronger."
Eleanor leaned forward and looked at Bella. Her eyes didn't look as dull as they had five minutes before, and El laughed, "it's working!"
