《Control [Carlisle Cullen]》1.1

Eleanor stood by the door inside the house and watched Bella wave goodbye to Charlie. She - along with the rest of the house - was shocked that Bella had been around Charlie as well as she did. She hoped she could be like that with her own family.
"Well done, Bella," Jasper praised her when she walked back inside, "I've never seen a newborn show that much restraint."
"I'm not even sure she is a newborn," Emmett teased, "she's so tame."
"Don't antagonize her, Emmett, she the strongest one in the house," Edward said, and Eleanor tilted her head at him, "well, physically anyway."
Emmett scoffed, "please."
"Is that a challenge?" Bella asked with a smile.
Emmett didn't say anything, and only punched his fist against his open palm. Bella raised a brow, then took off towards the back of the house, with Emmett right on her tail. Eleanor rolled her eyes at how dramatic the two were.
A sound of surprise left Eleanor's mouth when Carlisle picked her up and ran towards the backyard. When he set her back down, she crossed her arms and glared at the vampire. He only gave her a cheeky smile, and wrapped his arm around her waist. Eleanor relaxed into his side.
She looked over towards Emmett, and with wide eyes, she watched as the vampire carried a large boulder over to the group. He set it down with a large grin on his lips, and stared up at Bella. He leaned forward and set his elbow on the stone.
"Don't hurt yourself, Emmett," Eleanor teased, as she watched Bella mimic Emmett's stance.
Emmett only looked over at the witch, smugly.
"On three," Jasper spoke from beside Alice, "one, two, three."
The two vampires instantly started their arm wrestle, and Eleanor watched in amusement as Emmett clenched his jaw. He frowned, and his muscles flexed as he pushed against Bella's hand. Eleanor looked up at Carlisle, and they shared a grin.
Bella quickly switched roles with Emmett, and pinned his arm on the rock below them. Emmett pulled away with a look of disbelief, and Eleanor let out a cheer for Bella. The newborn let out a laugh, and then proceeded to kick and punch pieces of rock off of the boulder.
Eleanor watched her friend as she enjoyed the benefits of being a vampire. Bella stopped, and turned to face the sunlight. She slowly began to walk into it, and looked down at her now sparkling skin.
El looked up at Carlisle again, "I don't think I've ever seen her this happy."
Carlisle smiled, and listened as Eleanor began to talk again, "now that I know that I can still see my family, I'm not as scared about becoming a vampire, you know? I mean, how different is my life going to be? Besides feeding on animals instead of good food."

Carlisle spun Eleanor to where they were standing face to face. He leaned down, and landed a quick peck on her lips, "I'm not going to make you change if you don't want to, Eleanor."
She shook her head and opened her mouth to speak, but Carlisle cut her off, "I'm serious. I know you love me, Ellie, but I also know that becoming a vampire isn't what you want. If you'd rather live a long life with me instead, I'll live with it."
"Carlisle, babe," Eleanor glanced around her to make sure no one was listening. She then took Carlisle's face in her hands, "what I want is to spend the rest of my life with you. I'm going to have to learn to let go eventually, and when I do, I want you by my side."
The doctor let out a sigh of relief, and recaptured Eleanor's lips with his. Eleanor's thumb grazed over his smooth, marble skin and then pulled back. She let out a soft sigh, "I love you."
"I love you."
Months passed quickly. The winter semester of college was coming to a close as December moved closer. Eleanor was glad she was getting a break from classes for a few weeks, considering school was properly kicking her ass.
Renesmee grew quicker and quicker, and now she looked seven years old, instead of only three months old. The family was anxious about how long Nessie would be with them, and everyone dreaded the answer.
During the Autumn months, the Volturi had officially welcomed Bella as a vampire. They had sent her a short letter, and a very luxurious Volturi necklace. Eleanor thought it was a little excessive, but from all the stories she had heard, the Kings were excessive.
Jacob had eventually made up with Sam, but refused to rejoin his pack. Not that Eleanor could blame him - he had been living under Sam for the past two years, and now he was able to lead his own.
Now, Carlisle and Eleanor sat on the couch in front of the fireplace. It was early in the morning, and the two had the house to themselves. Eleanor laid her head on Carlisle's shoulder, and wrapped her hands around a steaming mug of tea.
She was freezing, but she'd never tell Carlisle, as she didn't want him to move away from her. Her eyes struggled to stay open, considering she hadn't been up for long. Carlisle wanted to spend time with her in private, and since most of the coven were out hunting, it was perfect opportunity for both of them.
Well, not necessarily Eleanor.
"Ellie," he whispered, "we can go back to bed."

"No," she mumbled, "this is nice. I'll wake up in a few minutes."
Carlisle let out a small laugh, and reached down to pull a blanket over Eleanor, "we'll see about that."
The crackling of the fire filled the quiet room, along with Eleanor's soft snores. Carlisle knew she was tired - she only snored when she was. He grabbed the cup of tea from her, and set it on the table beside him, before grabbing a book.
Eleanor slept for a couple more hours, before waking once more. The rest of the vampires were back from their hunt, which made the house a lot noisier for Eleanor to sleep. She didn't mind though - she was ready to start her day.
She gave Carlisle a quick kiss before he left to feed, and then walked into the kitchen to talk to Bella. The newborn was standing with Jacob, while the two stood over Renesmee talking.
"Hey guys," Eleanor greeted, and grabbed a piece of toast. She took a bite of it and sat down next to Nessie.
"Hey El," Bella smiled, "we're going to play in the snow if you want to come."
"Yeah, sounds great!" Eleanor said, and popped the rest of toast in her mouth, "be right back."
She walked over to her and Carlisle's room, and pulled over a pair of jeans and a long sleeve shirt. The witch pulled the clothes on quickly, before brushing back her hair and applying a bit of makeup. Before she walked back into the sitting room, she grabbed a pair of boots and a vest.
Jacob stood by the door with his arms crossed. He turned when he heard Eleanor enter the room, "they already went outside. Come on."
"How far did they go?" She asked when they stepped outside.
"Not sure," he answered, "I can shift, and you can hop on."
Eleanor laughed and gripped Jacob's hand in hers, "don't let go of my hand."
Jacob opened his mouth to ask Eleanor what the hell she was doing, but before he could, Eleanor pointed her free hand to the ground, and her magic shot the two of them towards the sky. A sound of surprise left Jacob's mouth and Eleanor only laughed at her friend.
After only a brief moment of being in the air, Eleanor located Bella and Nessie and lowered them in the clearing. Renesmee left her mother's side and ran to Eleanor. Her small arms wrapped around Eleanor's waist in a tight hug, "Aunt Ellie!"
Eleanor knelt down to better embrace her niece, "you just saw me a few minutes ago, Ness."
Renesmee only giggled, before letting go of Eleanor and moving over to Jacob. He smiled down at his imprint, then looked over at Eleanor, "by the way, never make me fly again."
Eleanor winked at him, and waved her fingers. Jacob rolled his eyes with a grin. He didn't mind the flying necessarily, but he wished he had had some kind of warning.
"Anyway," Eleanor clapped her hands together, "what're you guys doing?"
"Catching snowflakes!" Renesmee exclaimed. She then proceeded to run off and spread her arms apart. The young girl stuck her tongue out and squealed in delight as they landed in her mouth.
Eleanor smiled at her. She moved her eyes to the sky, and closed them as she enjoyed the feeling of snow against her skin. She always thought it was strange that she didn't mind the cold much anymore. Of course there were times when all she wanted was to be warm and cosy in her house, but now with Carlisle, it was easier to accept the frigid weather.
"Look!" Renesmee laughed, "I caught a snowflake!"
Bella crouched down next to her daughter, "it's beautiful. Why don't you go catch another?"
Renesmee ran off again, and Bella turned to her friends, "Edward thinks that we'll find answers in Brazil. There are tribes there that might know something."
"Let's hope so," Eleanor mumbled. She turned her attention back to Nessie and watched as the girl launched herself into the sky to catch another snowflake. Eleanor frowned when Renesmee looked into the distance, and then immediately landed on the ground.
Bella stepped forward and looked up towards the cliffs, along with Jacob. Ness ran over to the group, "who was that?"
El looked in the direction everyone else was and saw one of the Denali girls standing near the edge, watching them. She remembered that the girl was Irina.
"I think that's our cousin from Denali," Bella explained, "Irina!"
Irina stared at the four for a moment longer, before she bolted off. Bella immediately took off towards the vampire.
Eleanor grabbed Nessie's hand, feeling a sense of dread come over her. She had a feeling that whatever Irina saw wasn't going to be good for them.
"Come on guys. Let's get back to the house," Eleanor instructed.
She took one more look towards where Irina had stood, and then started moving back to the Cullen house.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
