《Control [Carlisle Cullen]》1.3

"At least we'll be able to go to London again. We haven't been there in a while."
Eleanor glanced at Esme and Carlisle as she finished packing the last few things in her case. She watched as her fiance zipped his case up and chuckle, "leave it to you to make this task into a trip."
"Eleanor will be able to meet our friends too, Carlisle," Esme smiled at her friend, "it'll be a good trip even if we don't get witnesses."
Carlisle and Eleanor only shared an amused look, as Jacob walked into the sitting room. He glanced around the room before stopping to stand beside Renesmee, "let's get this show on the road."
Jacob looked up towards the back door, along with the rest of the vampires. Eleanor looked up at Carlisle, who was focused on the figure outside the door, and followed him outside. Her eyes widened at the sight of Sam.
She was tempted to wrap the man into a hug, until she saw the serious look on his face. The alpha stepped forward and handed Carlisle a note, "Alice asked me to give you that. She and Jasper crossed our lands to the ocean last night."
Carlisle looked up at Sam curiously, before opening the piece of paper.
Eleanor peered over his shoulder to read it. Her eyebrows furrowed as she read the words spread over the paper: 'Gather as many witnesses as you can before the snow sticks. That's when they'll come."
Eleanor's mouth fell open in realisation, and she glanced up at Carlisle. Carlisle looked around his coven, with sadness reflecting in his features. Esme frowned, "Carlisle?"
"They've left us," he mumbled, folding the note back together.
A pit of anger grew in Eleanor's stomach at the thought of Alice and Jasper leaving them. Everyone was in danger, and the two had the nerve to leave them when they were needed most? She was fuming.

"Why?" Rosalie asked, voicing everyone's thoughts.
"She didn't say," he answered. His voice was full of grief, and the thought of Eleanor's mate being upset faded her anger, slightly. All she wanted was to comfort him.
"Can I see that?" Bella asked, stepping forward with her hand out. Carlisle handed the note over to Bella, who unfolded it and read it again. Eleanor watched Bella turn over the paper, and read a note on the back.
Bella frowned, but folded the note, and didn't say another word.
Eleanor grabbed her case from the belt with a huff, and set it beside her, before looking towards Carlisle and Esme. The three had just landed in Egypt, and waiting to meet their first potential witness.
Neither Carlisle nor Esme said much about who they were meeting first, which left Eleanor to be only more curious. She hoped that whoever it was would want to help.
As Eleanor began to walk forward, Carlisle reached over and grabbed her hand. He squeezed it gently, and the two shared a smile before beginning their walk behind Esme. They already had a cab outside waiting to take them to their destination.
Carlisle lifted all of their luggage in the boot of the car, and held the door open behind Eleanor. He climbed in himself, and gave the driver their directions. The car ride was silent, aside from the soft music that came from the radio.
Eleanor kept a firm grip on Carlisle's hand, trying to calm her nerves. Meeting new people still made her nervous, and she was sure that was something that would never change.
After about a ten minute car ride, the three pulled up in front of a beautiful white stone building. It was completely open, and people filled in and out of it. While Eleanor was gawking at the building in front of her, Carlisle reached over her lap and opened the car door. He gently nudged Eleanor, knocking her out of her trance.

Carlisle unloaded their cases once again and handed each one to their respective owners. Eleanor wasn't sure what they were supposed to do with their luggage - they would be leaving as soon as they talked to their first witness.
Eleanor's hand found Carlisle's again as the group made their way to the front of the building. An Egyptian man stood at the entrance, clearly waiting for them, "Carlisle, Esme. Good to see you two again."
His red eyes lingered on Eleanor, and Carlisle grinned, "it's good to see you too, Amun. This is Eleanor, my mate."
Amun nodded towards Eleanor, "nice to meet you."
"Likewise," she smiled, shyly.
The Egyptian's eyes landed back on Carlisle, "what can I do for you?"
"We need your help," he started, "perhaps we should take this inside."
Amun looked at the three curiously, but nonetheless lead them inside. He lead them away from the crowd of people, and into a room with a small fountain-like pool. Amun turned back to Carlisle.
Esme and Carlisle shared a quick look and Carlisle launched into his story. Amun's eyes grew wide at Carlisle's confession, and began to shook his head, violently, "no Carlisle. I won't stand against the Volturi."
Amun began to walk away, and Carlisle let go of Eleanor's hand to walk after him. El and Esme followed behind the doctor, "Amun, please!"
"I cannot help you, Carlisle!" He protested, stopping once again at the bottom of the archway.
"Please," Esme begged, "we wouldn't ask if it wasn't absolutely necessary."
"You must go."
Eleanor's heart dropped to her stomach. Finding witnesses was going to be a lot harder than she thought; no one wanted to stand against the Volturi.
The sound of water rushing backwards caused Eleanor to look down at the fountain. Her eyebrows furrowed as she watched the water rise, and take the shape of the entrance made by the arch. She looked across the fountain, and landed her eyes on a man.
His tanned hands lingered in the air, pushing the water up into the sky. His red eyes left the liquid, and looked towards the leader of the Olympian coven, "I'd like to hear more about it. I never get to meet any of Amun's friends. He likes to keep me hidden."
"Can't imagine why," Eleanor smiled at him.
His eyes lingered on the witch for a moment, before lowering his right hand to his side, and sending the water back into the fountain. Him and the woman by his side walked over to meet them on the other side.
He stuck his hand out for Carlisle to take, "Benjamin."
"Carlisle," the doctor introduced, then motioned to the girls behind him, "Esme, and my mate Eleanor."
"Nice to meet you all," Benjamin grinned.
"Can you only control water?" Eleanor asked, unable to hide her curiosity.
"I can influence all of the elements," his accent was thick as he spoke. Benjamin held his palm out, and Eleanor watched as a small ball of fire appeared in his hand.
A small gasp left her lips, and she glanced over at Carlisle and Eleanor. Carlisle tilted his head, motioning for her to show them her abilities. She looked back at Benjamin with a grin, and stuck her own hand in front of her in the shape of a ball.
Benjamin and Amun frowned at her actions, but watched to see what she was about to do. In one motion, Eleanor unfolded her fingers, and let scarlet mist twirl in between them. She kept her eyes on the Egyptians, and smirked at their shocked expressions.
"But you're... human?" Amun looked between her and Carlisle, confused.
"Extraordinary," Carlisle hummed, and Esme made a sound of agreement.
"So what are you?" Benjamin asked, "some sort of mutant?"
Eleanor's smile grew wider, "I prefer witch."

I'm Just a Nameless Side Character in a Vampire Romance Novel
I cried myself asleep after reading the ending to the "Rose and its Thorns" only to wake up as a nameless side character that dies before the novel even begins! Rose and its Thorns is popular webnovel about Julia, the female lead who is sold by her evil stepmother as bride candidate of the Rose Empire. It's a powerful but notorious Empire ruled by Vampires and populated by all the non human races of the world. In the end she had her happily ever after with the crown prince of the Empire, but Eclis, the Grand Duke and the second male lead dies with a broken heart. The novel updated nearly every week and I read it as it published for 3 years! I don't know how I got here but I'm going to thoroughly enjoy myself in this world and correct this novel to the ending Eclis deserves! Release schedule: Wednesday, Saturday at 2:30pm PST

A New Leaf
When people mention fantasy games and RPGs, they usually think of goblins, elves, orcs, dwarves and magic (apart from the percentage that gets an image of an anti-tank weapon in their mind, I will respectfully put those individuals aside for now). But what if you get neither of those (not even the weapon, I know, sad)? And what if you end up playing as something that doesn't look like an animal at all? And what if the said game you were playing weren't actually a game, but real life changed by irresponsible, beyond-mortal beings? Follow the (mis)adventures of "player" 13241, a.k.a. Treant, as he experiences what it's like to be a walking magical fruit maker (among other things). When the world goes to hell and back, plants are the ones that remain, right?
