《My Vampire (Book Three)》Chapter 2

I scream in bed sitting up and grasping at the sheets around me. I shut my eyes for a moment and calm myself down. That same dream. That little girl, why did I call her my sister? What did the old woman's warning mean? I get out of bed and go into the bathroom staring at my reflection, my eyes are a bright blue and I shut them for a moment and open them back up and meet the dark brown eyes I was born with. I shrug my shoulders back and roll my neck from side to side to relieve any stress in my joints.
"I miss you.." I whisper to myself.
It's your mind playing tricks with you. Those memories aren't real and you know it. I can almost hear Desiderius say to me. But he's not here. He hasn't been with me for the past hundred years.
"Bastard" I say to him although he's not here.
I leave the bathroom and peak through the thick curtian of the motel I'm staying at. I hiss for a moment when I feel the sun sting my cheek. I rub it slightly to ease the pain and it's gone in moments. I sigh and run a hand through my short black hair. I miss him so much. His touch. His smell. Everything. I lay silently on the bed day dreaming about the centuries we spent together and the last day I saw him almost 100 years ago.
"You must sleep through the day no matter what. Sleep is important towards our survival and for God's sake don't kill anyone at night." I hear Desi's voice as he continues to pack his bag.
"You don't really want to leave do you?" I ask raising an eyebrow at him as I watch him from the bed we shared. When I was a newborn we spent most of our time reeking havoc amongst the 13 colonies until the plague hit in europe and we took advantage of all the sudden deaths by feasting on whoever we wanted and no one would suspect a thing.
Things changed when we went back to America. We stopped killing and only ate to satisfy our needs and wiped the memories of the humans we used. Our numbers were dwindling, a family of vampire hunters had risen and we had to hide any evidence of us in every city we visited. But God I missed the feeling of their lives slipping away in my very arms.
"You mustn't kill anyone. Our kind has to remain hidden now that werewolf numbers have grown. As well as that stupid Corvin family." he warns me and shuts his case.

I groan annoyed and stand on my knees on the bed to meet his eye level as he walks over to me,"Stay one more night. Please for me,love" I whisper in his ear and slightly drag my fangs along his neck.
"Enough Ada. You cannot rely on me forever. You need this time on your own. I told you where to meet me in 2016 do you remember?" He asks and I roll my eyes at him.
"Of course I do. Why can't you tell me where you're going? What if I need you?" I whine and caress his cheek, he grabs my wrist roughly and places it at my side.
"Ada. Enough." He warns me and I flash my fangs at him and hiss. His eyes flash blue and he puts me in my place by slapping me hard across the face. The sting lasts seconds and I compose myself immediately after.
"Stop acting like a newborn. My car is waiting for me outside." He scolds me and I nod my head and slowly get off the bed to stand in front of him.
"You're immortal my love. Use this time to enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Until we meet again." He says and kisses me hard one last time and leaves in the dead of night.
Exactly 100 years later I kept my promise and wait in the town he wanted. Only it's up to him to decide when he'll show up, it could take a week or even months. But knowing Desi he'll take his sweet time.
He knows I'm absolutely devoted to him, I would wait another 100 years here and he knows that. I push the thoughts to the back of my head and moan when I finally feel night creeping its way into my room and empowering me, making my throat burn with an intense thirst.
I decide this towns night life will have to do as I slip on a strapless black dress that clings to every curve of my body. Along with black heels and a black choker decorated with dark jewels that glisten in the moonlight, a gift from Desi. My hair remains uncombed but barely passing my jawline as it lays straight on my cheeks. With this look I'm what most humans in this age would call goth, it's quite insulting really but I prefer my black clothes over anything in the world.
"Oh Desi. None of them look appealing" I say to myself as I play with the drink I ordered and stare at the bar patrons mingling around. The small bar reaks of sweat, piss and cheap beer along with stale presence of cigarette smoke in the air. I scrunch my nose in disgust at the fat passed out man at the end of the bar as he slowly makes a small puddle of drool under his cheek.

Amongst the different scents in the room the one that puts my guard up was that slight dog smell. Wolves. Desi warned me that the only way wolves thought of us was as legends and that we were nonexistent to them. He made it very clear that if a wolf ever discovered what I was, they had to die. Although in my time apart from him, I ran into 3 wolves and killed them effortlessly just like Desi would have wanted. I swear if wolves were in this town I would make Desi's life hell for choosing such a stupid town so close to a forest.
"Stupid beasts" I sigh and take a swig of my drink, it does nothing to sooth the burn in my throat.
"Say something sweetheart?" An older gentleman asks me as he sits on the stool next to me without my invitation. His hair is slightly thinning at the top of his head making it look shiny under the lights and there's a stain on his tie and he smells like cheap cologne. I notice the way his gut slightly peaks through his shirt but I shrug my shoulders and smile sweetly at him, he'll have to do for the night.
"Just a random thought passing through my head." I giggle and he smiles at me.
"I love your accent. You must not be from around here. What's a pretty little thing like you doing here?" He asks smiling at me and lifting an eyebrow, his attempt at seduction makes me want to laugh.
"Oh I'm just passing through!Although these bars do tire me. I honestly rather be doing something more fun." I say lowering my voice and placing my hand on his inner thigh. He straightens himself and chuckles and places his hand over mine.
"You waste no time do you?" He says copying my tone. I wink and get up to leave through the back door leading into the alleyway. Once outside I lean against a wall propping my leg against it lifting up the skin tight dress I had on.
He finally makes it outside walking over to me and slightly stumbling. He looks at me like a piece of meat with his mouth open and practically drooling. He stands in front of me and tangles his hands in my hair roughly and begins to trail kisses starting at my jaw to lead down to my chest. I yawn but he doesn't notice. He places his hand on my waist and that's when I hear the blood in his veins beginning to rush throughout his body. The sound makes me moan and he looks at me as if he was the one I caused it. I'm bored already. He continues his trail of kisses and the feeling of his lips on me begins to disgust me.
"Look at me"I whisper and he lifts his head back up. I extend my fangs with a slight pop sound and his eyes go wide. His mouth opens to scream but I'm too quick for him. My hand covers his mouth immediately and I turn him around to press him against the wall hard. He groans at the collision but I press my hand tighter against his mouth to quiet him. I finally sink my teeth into his neck and moan at the warm feeling of his blood quenching the burn in my throat and filling my stomach. I stop when I hear his heart beat slowing down. He's stopped screaming and looks like he might faint. I move my hand away from his mouth and under his chin to force him to look into my eyes. Now he's truly under my power.
"You won't remember anything about what happened here tonight. You're going to go home and drink lots of water and get some rest." I say and he nods his head. I prick my finger on one of my fangs and place a drop of my blood on the wounds I left on his neck and they heal immediately.
"Now run along" I smile and playfully shove him away. My smile fades when he exits the alley and two men look at him strangely. I press myself against the wall into the darkest part where the street light doesn't shine. I knew already by their scent that they were wolves. I crouch down when they try looking into the alley. I know they can't smell me. Vampires have no scent but God knows these dogs smell.
"What? It's just some drunk" one of them says. The other one shrugs and they begin walking again.
I wait until I hear that they are far enough before I leave the alley.
"Fucking Desi" I curse at him. He would choose a fucking town that would have a pack of wolves already living here.
Then again they do deserve some type of message just to scare them. I smile and I feel fangs extend when I see the shrinking figures of the two wolves from earlier. I was feeling more hungry after that drunk. I smile and run after them.
