《Grand Magic Games: Fairy Tail X Magi Crossover》Chapter 49

"In the library, we have Gray of Fairy Tail...and Rufus of Sabertooth in a confrontation!" Chapati announced.
"Is this in your calculations, First Master?" Romeo asked.
"Yes." Mavis replied.
"Then Gray is sure to win this match, huh?" Warren said, smugly.
"I do not know."
"What?!" Elfman exclaimed.
"But he must win. The man called Rufus is the key to Sabertooth."
Flashback~~~~~~~
"So what're you saying? That this Rufus guy knows all of our locations?" Gajeel asked as Sora, Gray, Laxus, and Erza were formulating a plan far away.
"That is exactly it." Mavis nodded.
"So it seems that taking down Rufus is a priority." Erza suggested.
"Can you let me take him down?" Gray asked, suddenly.
"Gray-" Before Sora could finish, he stood up from his seat.
"All right, First Master?!"
Eyebrows furrowing, Mavis looked down. "My calculations show that a match-up between you and Rufus will put you at a disadvantage. The probabilities of your winning-"
"I don't care about the odds! I want to help save Lucy, and I've got a score to settle with him! I'm asking as a Fairy Tail wizard! Please let me do this!"
Frowning, Mavis looked at Gray. "There are times when emotions outweigh calculations."
Flashback end~~~~~~~
"So show me...the strength of your emotions." Mavis said.
~~~~~~~~
Using his magic, Gray yelled, "Let's do this, you masked creep!" However, Rufus smirked, closing his book. "Ice Make: Freeze Lancer!"
Chuckling, Rufus dodged every attack. "Memorized!"
"You're not getting away! Ice Impact!" Sending a drill made out of ice, Gray made it crash to the ground. Rufus simply dodged that too.
"Memorized!"
"What are you mumbling about?" Gray glared.
Landing on his feet, Rufus held his hat. "Memory becomes a weapon. I memorize any magic I see. And using that memory as a base, I make new magic!"
"What's that mean?"
"Memories or your Ice Magic. Memories of Olga's Thunder Magic. I remember it all. Memory Make." Rufus looked at Gray, glaring. "Frozen Black Thunder Sword!" Before Gray could react, black lightning started striking the ground, making Gray yell out in pain when one struck him.
"Gray!" All of Magi, minus Kouen, yelled.
"Can he just...make up whatever magic he wants?!" Alibaba yelled.
Smirking, Rufus said, "Shrine of Turbulent Fangs!" Swiping one of his arms in Gray's direction, he generated several whirlwinds his way.
However, Gray raised his arm in front of him. "Shield!"
Closing his eyes, Rufus moved his hand to his head. " 'Shield,' memorized. And...Forget!"
Before Gray could react, his shield dispersed. "My shield just vanished..." Dodging, he was left unprepared as a whirlwind caught it in its grasp, sending him in the air.
"So Rufus can make as many new magics as he wants?" Morg asked.
"And once Gray uses certain magic, he can't use it again?" Sin asked.
"That's too much of a disadvantage!" Magi said.
"That's really unfair!" Alibaba whined.
"I agree." Kouen said, frowning.
Landing, Gray panted. Meanwhile, Rufus chuckled. "This battle is my song for you. A requiem." Rufus said, smirking as he held his hat. "Burn this into your memory: you cannot win against me."
However, Gray took his shirt off. "We'll just...see about that..."
As the girls in the crowd had hearts in their eyes, the men sweat-dropped. However, Sora facepalmed. "Seriously, Gray...? You couldn't have waited till after the battle?"
Glaring, Gray panted. "The fact that I wear the Fairy Tail mark...means that I never lose to the same enemy twice!"
"Oh? I suppose you have some plan?" Rufus chuckled, closing his eyes.
"Ice Make..."
"Memorize!"
"Unlimited!"
Shocked, Rufus didn't have a chance to prepare himself for what's to come. Suddenly, many weapons made out of ice appeared, surrounding Gray.
"What's this...?!" Rufus panicked. As many more appeared, he looked at Gray. "How is he doing maker magic that fast?!"
Finally finished, Gray positioned the weapons surrounding himself. "Did you memorize this?!"
"My memory...will never...catch up!" Rufus started sweating.
"Dance of the Frenzied Masses!" Sending the weapons towards Rufus, Gray smirked as Rufus was surrounded in ice, tightly held.
"But...it's unfortunate for you that you're only using ice magic. I have memorized fire magic that can defeat ice! Memory Make...Burning Earth Karma!" Smirking, Rufus incinerated the ice and sent it towards Gray.
Running, Gray stood into the flames, shocking Rufus. "Fire magic?! I remember hotter fire than that! Ice Bringer!" Before Rufus could react, Gray made swords out of ice, and sliced him, sending him flying.
Lying on the ground, ice protruded from Rufus' chest.
Meanwhile, Mavis smiled, sighing from stress. Sora smirked. "Nice Gray!"
Grabbing Rufus' hat, Gray smirked as he put it on his head.
"It's Gray! Fairy Tail wins! He took down Rufus!" Chapati announced. Cheering, Magi and Fairy Tail got up from their seats. "Now the only team with a full roster is Fairy Tail, isn't it?"
"It puts them at quite an advantage." Yajima smiled.
"Whaaat?! Rufus has never been defeated!" Mato yelled, surprised.
"Well, it's a first for everything!" Sora commentated.
Elsewhere, Rogue frowned. "I suppose Fairy Tail really is strong. But...Gajeel...until I defeat you..."
Meanwhile, Minerva chuckled. "Are we crumbling...? Our Sabertooth? Or is it possible...that Sting..."
Sitting away from the competition, Sting frowned. "Lector..."
Flashback~~~~~
After Sting took down Jiemma, Sting yelled, "How dare...you do that to Lector...?!"
Shocked, Rogue looked at him as he held Fro, who cried, tightly to himself. "Sting!"
Clapping, Minerva smirked as she grabbed everyone's attention. "That was well done."
"Y-you..." Jiemma muttered.
Placing a hand on her hip, she looked towards her father. "Let it be known that my father's reign of terror has ended here. Since Sting's power has surpassed even that of Father's, he is a fitting candidate for the new Master."
"Minerva, you little..."
"What are you saying...?" Sting asked.
"Beaten dogs have no right to speak. It was your rule. Follow it!" As Jiemma cried out in pain, Minerva stood in front of the whole Guild, in front of Sting. "Sting...something you did not have...that that man 'Natsu' had...was his 'power of emotion'."
"Power of emotion...?"
"Unbeknownst to you, Father's philosophy has influenced you. He told you, 'We don't need friends,' and, 'Power is everything'. However, your nature proved that wrong; your feelings for Lector gave you power.
"You have managed to obtain that power. Now, you can surpass Natsu and Sora."
Looking down, Sting teared up. "Princess...I don't think I can..."
Walking towards him, she smiled. "Be at ease. Lector is alive." Seeing his disbelief, she explained. "I used my magic to transport him to another location."
"I-is this true, Princess...?"
"Lector is alive...!" Fro smiled.
Losing the strength left in him, sting fell to his knees, trying to wipe the tears falling on his face. "Thank you! Thank you, Princess! Now, please bring him back to me...But really...thank you..."
However, as Minerva walked towards him, she put her finger under his chin and made him looked at her, frowning. "Don't be childish." Shocked, everyone looked at her without any words. "You will never see Lector again until we have won the Games!"
"What are you talking about, Princess...?! Please...Just give Lector back to me, and-"
Standing up, she frowned. "I am not like Father! However, that does not change the fact the Sabertooth must be the greatest Guild in the world! For that, you must prove that you have truly obtained this new power. You must display this power and win for all the people to see!
"I will not allow any foolish thoughts to persist in you! Know now that Lector lives or dies on my whim!"
Flashback end~~~~~~~~~~
"I'm going to...win this thing!" A darkness spread over Sting.
With Sora, she started getting bored since no one was in her way. Sighing, she walked around, wishing for some action. Suddenly, she smelled a familiar scent. Following it, she was lead to Sting slouched down. "Sting...?"
Feeling a presence, he looked towards the figure. Eyes widening, he blinked. "Sora...?"
~~~~~~~~
As they stood next to each other, Happy, Carla, and Lily flew around to search for an exit. Returning, they shook their heads.
"Natsu! Every crack in the ceiling is blocked." Happy said.
Cursing, Natsu frowned.
"I doubt there's an exit." Carla said.
"But we came so far!" Natsu said.
"It's like the grave robbers have become mummies themselves." Mira sweat-dropped.
"It's pretty pathetic!" Wendy sighed.
Landing on the ground, Lily crossed his arms over his chest, frowning. "Now that it's come to this, we may need to draw a map on someone's body."
"Come to think of it, Natsu, what about the Games?" Lucy asked turning towards Natsu.
"Sora's filling in for me."
Mischievously, Happy covered his face to keep himself from laughing. "He said that he was going to rescue Lucy and wouldn't listen to any arguments."
"True." Natsu nodded.
However, Lucy turned away, holding her red cheeks. "Aww! Now you're making me blush!"
Turning to Yukino, Natsu placed a hand on his hip. "It isn't as if we forgot you, either."
"No...I never expected-"
However, as Mira smiled, she placed her hands on Yukino's shoulders. "Doesn't this girl remind you a bit of Lisanna?"
"Hm?" Confused, Yukino looked at her.
"Now that you mention it..." Lucy said.
"Who is this Lisanna?"
Smiling, Mira closed her eyes. "My little sister!"
Meanwhile, Carla noticed something a way's in front of the group. "Everyone! There's a passage over this way!"
"Oh?!" Natsu went over to where she was. There was a crack under boulders.
"Good job, Carla!" Happy
Time skip~~~~~~~~~
As they were crammed inside the hole, trying to scoot their way down, they were struggling.
"This is pretty tight!" Lucy said.
"If we can just get through here..." Natsu mumbled reaching for a rock.
Finally down, Wendy sighed. However, she noticed a body. "Somebody's there!" As they all made it down, they ran towards the body.
"Colonel Arcadios?!" Yukino said.
"That guy from before..." Lucy said.
Shaking him, Natsu said, "Hey! Are you okay? Wake up!"
"What are you doing here?!" Wendy asked.
"Were you dropped in here like us?" Lucy asked.
Twitching, Arcadios mumbled, "Just...run..." Before he could explain, a giant figure appeared behind them, laughing. As they looked behind themselves, he swiped at them. However, Natsu protected Arcadios from the attack.
Looking at the ground, Lucy saw acid eating it away. "What is this...?"
"Acid...?!" Lily said.
However, another scrawny figure appeared in front of Wendy. "Tai?" Squealing, Wendy backed way. "Huge catch!" Water appeared after he moved his flag upwards, sending it towards her. As he smiled, saying, "Tai!," everyone was sent in the air, yelling.
Falling to the ground, Natsu looked at the figures. "Who are these guys...?"
However, another on appeared from the ground in the form of a flower.
"There are more of them?!" Lily said.
Another appeared in the form of paper.
Looking at them, Arcadios frowned. "They are an independent squad that supports the nation from the shadows...The country's greatest executioners...The Garou Knights!" As all of the squad appeared, smirking, he said, "They...go on duty at 1500 hours!
"They're why no one has ever escaped alive from the Palace of Hades."
As Fairy Tail frowned, glaring, the leader, Kama, said, "By the special authority granted by the Garou Knights, an independent squad of Fiore...we will now execute these law breakers."
