《Prisoner 138 {The 100} [1]》Chapter 3: Jasper

"Clarke! Finn!" I yelled standing up from the rock. They both quickly ran out of the water, worried something had happened.
"What's wrong?" Finn asked as I pointed to the rock.
Both their eyes widened. "Look," Clarke said picking up the same pair of goggles that Jasper was wearing on his way down here. "Jasper was here."
Finn reached down and touch the puddle of blood that sat on the rock. "We're close." I took a deep breath before running ahead of them. I looked around for any tree that I would be able to climb and quickly stumbled up it. I sat on a steady branch to look around for a second. Analyzing where I would go next.
"Damn it, Ari, where'd you go!" Clarke yelled, but I ignored her, staying up in the trees, climbing through the branches.
"Hey, where is the kid?" Bellamy asked once everyone meet up together.
"Somewhere in the trees," Finn answered out of breath from the running.
I heard a loud shriek of pain and at this point, I didn't care about the group or where I was going. I jumped down from the tree and ran in the direction of the screaming. "Where the hell did she come from?" Murphy asked.
I stopped immediately in my tracks and my heart dropped to my stomach as soon as I saw Jasper tied to a tree with a gash on his chest. "Ari, wait!" Clarke yelled with a groan. The rest stopped behind me and looked up at Jasper.
"What the hell?"
I went to run over to him but I took one step and fell into a hole that had been covered by leaves and sticks. I grabbed a tree root that was coming out of the ground and held onto it with all the strength I had so I didn't fall into the pit below me.
"Ari!" Someone screamed. I looked down at the pit and there were sharp rocks at the bottom already covered with blood and screamed. My heart raced and my palms were sweaty. The tree root cracked and I slipped feather down.
"Get her out of there!"
I hung tight to the branch for a few seconds until the root broke and I started to fall, flailing my arms up, trying to feel for anything I could grab onto that would keep me from falling while I screamed the loudest I could. At the very last second, I felt someone grabbed on my wrist and pull me up. I continued to look down at the hole, my heart racing, while everyone gathered around me. "Are you okay?" I nodded my head and looked over at Bellamy who was still holding onto me.
"We need to get Jasper down," Clarke said.
"I'll climb up there and cut the vines," I said and started walking closer to the tree before anyone could protest.
"No, wait, Ari," Finn said trying to stop me, but I kept walking ignoring him.
I climbed up the tree with no problem and Finn climbed up right behind me and on the other side of Jasper. I started to cut the vines with a knife Finn handed me.

"Hurry up Ari." Murphy rushed.
"But be careful," Clarke said as I rolled my eyes. I stopped what I was doing when I heard a sudden growling coming from the other side of the tree.
"What the hell was that?" Finn asked.
"Grounders?" Bellamy questioned, but when I turned my head to look behind me I saw what looks to be some kind of animal crawling in the high grass.
"Bellamy, Gun!" Clarke yelled as the black cat-like creature showed itself. When Bellamy went to grabbed the gun it wasn't on his belt anymore.
The animal pounced and went for Bellamy's head. Wells pulled out the gun and shot the thing multiple times, leaving it dead. We were all a bit shaken up now and Finn and I started to cut the vines faster.
We finally cut Jasper down and Finn got him off the tree. We put him in the Parachute that Wells brought so they could lift him. Wells an Finn carried him trying their best not to hurt him while Murphy and Bellamy carried the animal back to camp.
-
It was dark when we got back to camp. As soon as we got back Clarke began listing all the stuff she would need to help Jasper. We made our way into the dropship while Wells and Finn carried Jasper to the top level.
I sat in the corner of the room while Clarke checked Jasper. I watched closely, my heart pounding as he kept groaning in pain.
After a while of watching I followed Clarke outside. We both were shocked at what we saw. Bellamy was taking more bracelets off kids and then giving them a stick with meat from the animal on it.
I shook my head and walked over and grabbed two sticks of the meat and walked away. No one really carried because I already had my bracelet off already and I don't think anyone even saw me. One of the perks of being small.
I walked back to the dropship and gave one of the sticks to Monty who hasn't left Jasper's side since we got back. "Thanks," he said and took a bite of the chewy meat. His face screeched up making me chuckle.
"Yeah, I know it sucks." I chuckled, making him smile for a split second.
It was really late now as Clarke climbed up to the floor and Jasper was moaning really loud from the pain. She walked over to him and grabbed his wrist, gently. "His pulse is 380." She said looking down at her watch.
"Yo shut that kid up!" Someone from the first level yelled.
I sighed and walked over to Jasper. "Don't listen to them, you're gonna make it through this. Promise." I whispered to only him.
"Can he just die already!" Someone else yelled. I rolled my eye, crossing my legs.
"I'm gonna get clean water keep an eye on him." Clarke explained getting up and climbing down the ladder.
Monty nodded his head and crawled next to Jasper. "Hey, you should get some sleep." He told me, I shook my head.

"I'm good." He smirked and shook his head.
"Why are you doing this for Jasper?" He asked.
"Because."
"Because why? There has to be a reason."
I shrugged, "He was the first person to be nice to me since we got to the ground." He nodded.
Clarke came back a little while later with the water and cleaned Jasper's chest some more. I walked over and leaned on the wall, taking my jacket off and used it as a blanket. I lied there for a while and watched Jasper and Clarke until I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore.
-
"No, no. No!" I screamed, jumping up fast. Flashbacks of my mother played through my head like a movie.
"Hey, hey it's okay." I looked up at Clarke who was kneeling next to me. I couldn't breathe as tears rolled down my face. I looked around the room, not recognizing where I was. "Hey, it's okay. Calm down," she said softly. I stopped shaking a bit but tears still streamed down my face.
"Are you okay?" I nodded my head, whipping tears away, trying to catch my breath. "Want to talk about it?" I pulled my knees to my chest and let out a sigh.
"My mother," I started to say but my voice cracked, "She, she uh..." I couldn't finish what I was going to say. I put my head in my knees and silently cried. "I always see her in my dreams," I said and whipped my checks with my sleeve.
Clarke looked sad for me and I hated that. She put her arm around my shoulder. "Its okay," she said softly, "Your mothers in a better place now. You're okay." She said as she rubbed my arm, not understand what I meant. My mother wasn't dead, no matter how much I wanted her to be she wasn't. "How'd you end up here?" She asked changing the subject.
"My mother, she stole rations and blamed it on me." I explained, calming down, "When guards came by our room for a search and found all the missing rations under my bed. She blamed it on me, so she wouldn't get arrested and then floated." Clarke nodded her head.
"Alright, why don't you try and get some rest."
I sat with Monty and helped him try and make the radio to contact the Ark. "The grounders cauterized the wound. Saved his life," Clarke explained sounding confused.
"Saved his life so that they can string him up as live bait," Finn said walking over to her.
"His wound is infected, could be septic." I looked over at Clarke and stopped what I was doing. "Any progress on using the wristbands on contacting the ark?" Monty was just starring at Jasper, in a daze. "Monty?" Clarke asked again.
"No. We haven't figured out anything." I answered for him. Wells came up to the floor and started talking to Clarke. I just went back to what I was doing and so did Monty, kinda ignoring the conversation but also listening in.
"Want to help, hold him down," Clarke said aggravated with Wells. My head shot up and I looked over as Clarke put a knife in the fire pit.
"I'm not going to like this am I?" Monty asked.
Clarke began cutting Jasper's skin while Wells held him down. He screamed at the top of his lungs in pain and I cringed, along with Monty. Octavia climbed the ladder and her eyes were filled with fear. "Hold him still," Clarke said. "I need to cut away the infected flesh."
"Stop it you're killing him!" Octavia screamed and knelt down beside him.
I couldn't watch anymore, it was too disgusting and I couldn't stand seeing Jasper in so much pain anymore. So I climbed down the ladder and walked outside to get some fresh air. I stood there for a second looking around the camp, taking in the nice breeze. I noticed a girl about my age maybe older sitting alone by a tree, looking down at her hand. I walked over and sat next to her. "Hi, my names Ari," I said smiling.
She smiled back at me. "I'm Charlotte."
"Why are you sitting here alone?" I asked.
"I don't really know anyone." She explained, which was understandable, I didn't know anyone when I first got here either.
"So what are you here for?" I asked.
"I accidentally assaulted a guard. How 'bout you?"
"My mother turned me into the guards for a crime I didn't do." She nodded. "Want to see something?" I asked standing up. She nodded her head and followed me as I walked over to the tree. "Can you climb?" She nodded. I climbed up to a steady branch as she followed.
"Wow, you can see the whole camp from up here." She said looking out over everything. I nodded my head.
"Yeah its pretty cool, right."
We talked for a while and I learned that both her parents were floated and she flipped when they were taking her parent's stuff away and that's when she assaulted the guard. She has a lot of nightmares about it.
I also found out that she is really shy and quiet and that's why she was alone. Mid-sentence I saw Clarke walking out of the dropship one way with Finn and Wells, and Bellamy went another way with a group of people.
"Hey, I'm going to follow them, want to come?" I asked Charlotte. She shrugged and gave a nod. The two of us climbed through the branches following Bellamy and his group who were following a wild pig.
"This one's mine," Bell said flipping an ax in the air and getting close to the pig.
I began to climb down the tree watching them, but my foot slipped making me lose my footing and drop down to the ground, causing a lot of noise. I took a deep breath as Bellamy threw the ax right next to my face
