《Down The Line》~DTL.4~

Aaliyah picked her up from the ground. "Hi baby. Did you wake up" She said rubbing her hair while she laid her head on my chest.
Damn she was beautiful. She was one of the most beautiful little girls I've ever seen. Her black tight curls, pretty brown eyes, brown complexion. Damn this is really my daughter.
Aaliyah scolded me while she rocked Kamryn back in forth in her arms. I just smacked my lips at her, not carrying about her facial expressions.
How dare she not tell me about my daughter in four years. She had no excuse for why she didn't, she wasn't thinking about me or our child. Than she wanna get smart with me, I haven't seen her in years and the first time we see eachother after all these years we have a screaming match.
"Mommy I'm tired can we go upstairs" Kamryn spoke.
Aaliyah looked at me and put Kamryn down "of course baby, go up there I'll meet you okay" she smiled.
She smiled and ran up the stairs. I couldn't help but smile at her smile, it was contagious. "Look Darius I'm sorry. I can't change the past and the decisions I made but Kamryn needs you in her life."
I barely looked at her "I'll text you. We'll figure this shit out imma be in her life regardless" I said turning around to go to the door.
As I opened her front door, I felt her small petite hands touch me "I'm really sorry D, I never wanted to hurt you."
I looked at her "You never wanna hurt me Aaliyah but you always seem to be doing that exact thing" I responded than walked out the door, closing it after me.
I drove home and when I got there I just sat in the car and screamed, and hit my steering wheel repeatedly. "Fuck" I said too myself as tears formed in my eyes.
I was so pissed at Aaliyah I mean why would she think that this shit was okay. That little girl was a spinning image of me you couldn't tell me she wasn't mine. She was so sweet, innocent, and beautiful and confused.
I wanted to hold that little baby and take all her tears away. After I was done having my fit I straighten myself up and got out the car, walking into the house. I checked my phone and it was damn there 10 o'clock.
I walked into the room and saw Jamera was sleeping so I decided to slip out my clothes and take a quick shower. I got dressed in the bathroom so I ain't wake up Jamera.

I laid next to her and decided to text to Aaliyah telling her we gotta meet so we can talk about our daughter.
I gotta talk to you, we need to meet tomorrow.
Yea that's fine gotta be around three, Miracle will be over to watch Kamryn
Aight.
"The same Miracle from highschool?" I asked myself. I remember that petite little brown skin girl. Jalen had a crush on her ass for the longest and she was never having it.
"Miracle when you gonna let me marry you" Jalen asked wrapping his arm around her.
She laughed and removed his arm "never."
He laughed and grabbed a tomato off the lunch tray "Miracle Bernice Williams will you marry me" Jalen asked getting on one knee.
She laughed "nigga get your ass up"
Me, Aaliyah and the both of them started laughing.
"Watch one day you'll be my wife" Jalen said wrapping his arm around Miracle again.
She rolled her eyes in disbelief "we'll see"
"Who are you texting at this time of night" Jamera asked while waking up. Why was she always waking up when I didn't want her too.
"Nobody. It's business" I lied.
She rose up and crossed her arms "your lying. And you've been gone all day where were you"
I rolled my eyes "how you gonna tell me and like I told you I was at-"
"Don't say Jalens house either cause I called him and he said you left around 3 o'clock in the afternoon" I'mma fuck that nigga up. I thought to myself.
"And you come back at 10 o'clock so where were you. Tell the truth Darius" she crossed her arms tighter across her chest.
"I had some errands to make Jamera it was important aight. Just drop it" I said turning off the side lamp trying to go to bed.
She turned the light back on "No. Tell me Darius where were you" she said getting louder.
I threw my head back "I saw Aaliyah" I finally admitted.
Her face dropped and she whispered something to herself "whatchu say"
She shook her head out her thoughts "why would you go visit her"
"We needed to talk about something that's important that's why"
"And what was it"
"That's nun of your business Mera, it's not about you. It gotta do with the two of us" I said laying down and adjusting my pillow.
She rolled her eyes "I'm going to sleep in a guest room"
I shrugged my shoulders and she slammed the door. I just groaned and laid down and went to bed.

Miracle and I were sitting on the couch talking about the recent events with Darius ass. I mean I knew he had a right to be mad but he was getting too loud.
"So he ain't take it so well" Miracle asked while playing with Kami hair.
"You can say that shit again, he over here yelling and woke up lil mama. And cussin at me" I said shaking my head.
"Like I know your mad but calm down Foreal" I said rolling my eyes.
"Damn. Ain't he coming over here" Miracle asked.
"Yea I told him around three. Can you take Kamryn out or something." I asked.
"Yea of course. Kamryn you wanna spend the afternoon with your auntie" Miracle asked her as she laid on her lap.
She got up in excitement "yes. Can I Mommy" she turned to me.
"Yea of course baby. Go put your shoes on" I smiled at her.
After like ten minutes they both came down and they were ready to go. The doorbell rang. Damn he early. I said to myself. I opened the door.
"The one and only Darius Boweman in the flesh" Miracle said being dramatic.
He slightly smiled "Wassup Miracle" he gave her a side hug.
I crossed my arms and said that's cute in my head.
"Well we gonna go. Come on Kami" Miracle said grabbing her hand.
"Wait" She stopped walking.
"Boweman. That's my last name. We have the last name" she said to Darius.
He smiled and leaned down to her "well aren't you a lucky girl. Boweman the best name out there" he winked and glared at me.
She smiled "I know right" and she left out the door.
"Wassup" he turned to me.
"Wassup" I said rolling my eyes and walking to the kitchen.
"Sit down" I told him.
He sat across the table from me. "Soo" I dragged my words.
He gave my that bitch what face "What the fuck you mean soo" he said mocking me.
I rolled my eyes "I mean I said what I needed to say yesterday. Ball in your court what you tryna say" I said leaning back in my chair.
"Well first why would you feel it was appropriate to come to my work and tell me this."
I huffed "well I left a message on your phone and you ain't respond so I went to the next resort I mean-"
He cut me off "what you mean you left a message I ain't get one."
"What you think I'm lying. I left the message it ain't my fault if you want get it. Better check with your assistant or sum shit"
He was thinking for a second "imma handle that shit later. When can I spend time with my daughter"
"You can spend time with her when I'm around. You can't just take a four year old girl and leave her with a stranger"
"I ain't a stranger"
I rolled my eyes "yes you are. For now you are. Until she gets comfortable with you and she know you her dad"
"Okay man that's fair." He stood of form he's chair.
I got up too and we walked to the door. "Is that all"
He turned around and stared at me in my eye. "Why Aaliyah" is all he said.
"Why what" I responded not breaking eye contact.
"Why break up with me, break my heart to a million pieces. Why have my daughter and not even tell me about her for four years. Why would you do that to me yo. What did I do to you" He asked with a sad tone.
I could feel tears forming in my eyes "I don't know Darius. You were my everything and I thought it what was best for you. I was young D."
A tear drizzled down his face "That's not good enough anymore Aaliyah. That same tired excuse of I thought it was best for you"
I wiped my tears from my face "I Know Darius. What would you have said if I told you I was pregnant"
"I would've helped you out Aaliyah. I would've loved you and Kamryn. I would figure out my college situation"
"See no that's exactly why I didn't want to tell you. I would feel so bad if you were putting your life on hold for me. You wouldn't be the business man you are if I didn't let you go and you know it." I said crying.
He stood quiet not saying anything. "I hurt you and I'm soo soo sorry for that. But I have no regrets in my decision" I said truthfully.
He turned around towards the door "I loved you Liyah" he said lowly.
"I still love you Darius." I said turning him around.
He stared at me "The Aaliyah and Darius love story is over. I moved on and now I'm just focused on my daughter" he looked at me for awhile before turning around and leaving.
