《My Morphine [Wade Wilson]》[2]

We sat on the hood of my car, I was smoking, he just laid back with his arms behind his head. He had two swords with him, kind of out of the ordinary. He saw me looking at them and he smiled.
"Impressive aren't they?" He asked pulling one out, sitting up, he laid it across his lap.
"oh yeah." I rolled my eyes. "They're so big, and so dangerous." I said in a fake swoon.
He laughed. "easy woman, I never let 'em touch it on the first date." We shared a laughed and I lit another smoke. "Ya know, theres a couple words in the dictionary, you should look it up. Chain smoker."
I laughed and nodded. "Hard to quit. Shit seems thicker these days." I said sighing, exhaling smoke
"Don't need to know about your personal problems." he mumbled. I laughed and shovedh is arm playfully.
"So. . ." I paused. "About that angry mob?" I asked trying not to laugh.
"You noticed that did you?" I laughed, he smiled and sighed. "Today my ex-girlfriend got hitched." He said.
"And thats why angry people were chasing you? Seem unrelated." I said sarcastically.
"Haha." he said shoving me back. "No, uhh, I decided that I should attend."
"ouch." I said flinching "Why would you do something like that?"
"To make sure she didn't forget me. . ." he said letting his voice trail off. I nodded, just kind of humoring him. he shook his head and looked back to me. "So, whats your story?" He asked.
I gave him a quizical look. "Well for one, I don't usually give strangers rides in my car, neither do I take them to secluded locations, such as this one, and have entertaining conversations with them." I explained.
He laughed "Yeah, I can see how that would be wierd." I smiled and nodded. Just then a huge mosquito flew into my face and without thinking, it lit up in a tiny flame and the ashes blew off in the wind. He gasped and I jumped off my car hood.
"I think I should go now." I said getting in the driver seat.
"You're a mutant!" he said surprised. I turned and key and he slid into the passenger window. "wait, we gotta discuss this." he said laying his hand over mine on the shift.
I gave him another strange look. "You're not freaked out?" I asked. He shook his head. "well..." I paused. "I would be lieing if I said this wasn't a first."
"Caught a lot of dirt huh?" He asked.
I laughed. "Thats the understatement of the century." I laid my head on my steering wheel. "i lost my friends, my family...everything! All because I'm a mutant...and now I'm confessing to a stranger! God what is wrong with me!?" I laughed/sobbed to myself. It was silent for a moment.
He laid his hand on my back. "Ya know, I don't know if you know or not, but its kinda strange for me to be lugging two large bulky swords around..."' I sniffled and nodded. "I'm kinda of...unique too..." he said shrugging.

I looked up to him and smiled. "You're a mutant?" He nodded. I pushed my hair out of my face. "You seem so...normal." I said with a half smile.
He reached over, qiping the tears off my cheeks. "Not so much." he said. "To me, you seem normal and I'm the freak." I sighed. "I guess its all a matter of perception." I nodded and we sat back in the seats. "I want to ask you something."
"Shoot." I said laughing. "Seems the afternoon for spilling information anyway right?" He smiled
"Do you have anywhere to go tonight?" He asked looking at the sleeping bag, and suitcase of clothes in the backseat. "I mean, I can't give you accomidations like this, but I can give you a place to sleep tonight." I looked at him kinda funny. "Strictly in your best interest, I promise you won't feel wierd." He said putting his right hand over his heart.
"Zero wierdness?" I asked.
"Zero wierdness." He answered. "Plus, you can meet others like you and me." he said smiling.
I returned his gesture and nodded. "Ok, lead the way." I said He kinda looked a little reluctant. "What?" I asked.
"Mind if I drive?" he asked. He laughed "I like the horsepower." I laughed and nodded. We switched seats and He drove the way.
"Strange." I thought to myself, watching him twist and turn, peeling wheels in parking lots, just having fun. "He seems like a normal man for his age. I feel so comfortable around him. Maybe its the fact that I don't have to hide what I am while I'm around him, or worry about him finding out about me, then running, or trying to kill me or something." I smiled when he looked over to me making a hilarious face when he pushed the gas pedal to the floor. "It feels good to have a friend again." My smile faded. "Bryson...maybe its time that I leave you all behind...its best you all forget me anyway." I looked out my window, the wind whipping through my hair. "Get on with your life little brother. Maybe one day I'll come to get you, and get you away from the bullshit lie we called a family."
We were driving for a good hour before I started getting sleepy. I let Wade know that I was taking a nap and he said to go on, that it would be at least another two hours before we arrived. I laid my seat back and closed my eyes. Sleeping always brought nightmares, you shouldn't have to mentally prepare yourself to sleep. I guess I as just tired enough that I don't even remember the moment I feel asleep.
~Wade's p.o.v.~
"I fucking LOVE this car." I thought as I twisted around corners, I was trying to hold back my excitment now that Blyss was asleep beside me in her seat. I glanced at her out of the corner of my eyes. I saw her shiver. At the next stop sign, I took off my leather jacket and laid it over her bare arms. "Kind of funny how today went. Granted pulling out a couple of swords at my ex's wedding wasn't the best idea, they'll never forget me though, and I met Blyss out of all this." I gripped the steering wheel tight. The truth was, I didn't know how Stryker would take me bringing a random girl home. Collecting mutants was his thing though right? Maybe he would even put her on the team. She has no scars though that I can see, what if she doesn't have any combat experience? "I'll train her myself." I smiled. "Hell yeah. But..." my smiled faded "I know basically sword play, I'm a good fighter, but they ARE others who are possibly better to train her...shut the hell up Wade, she doesn't even need to be on the team. I just want her to stay..." I glanced over again. Shes so pretty, ya know, not more good looking than me obviously, but a very close second....I laughed to myself and finally pulled into the drive up to the building where we were all staying.

Victor was standing in the driveway smoking a cigar with his brother James. I stepped out of the car and they caught notice of me.
"oh come on!" James said laughing. "You steal your ex's car too? Thats just adding insult to injury." He said. Victor laughed too. I shrugged them off going over to the passenger side and lifting Blyss into my arms, shut the door behind us.
"Wait, wait wait!" Victor said coming over to me. "what the hell are you thinking!? What did you do Wade? Kidnap her?" He asked stopping me before we hit the door.
"I didn't kidnap her." I said rolling my eyes. "and its her car." I said looking over to James. "She helped me out, we ended talking. I found out she sleeps in her car, so I offered her a place to stay for the time being." I said wakling inside, they both followed me.
James caught up to me. "And the Time being what? A day, a couple days, week....?"
"however long I need her to." I said laying her back on the couch. By this time Fred and Chris had looked over as well.
"And she IS a mutant?" Victor asked. "Or just some stray you brought home to snuggle with?" He asked laughing. I shot him a glare. "Oh, I hurt the baby's feelings." He said laughing, I laid a hand on my sword when I caught the scent of burning hair.
"Victor your hair!" James said pointing out the fact that was a little smoke coming from his head. Victor paniced and put out the little embers in his hair and I smiled hearing...
"Aww did I hurt the baby's ego?" Came Blyss' voice as she sat up on the couch, now wearing my jacket. Victor glared at her, James stood between them though so I didn't worry. He seemed the more level headed of the two anyway. "And Yes, I'm a mutant. You are?" She asked. She stood up next to me, so I put my arm around her shoulder, she let me lean on her, so I did.
"i'm James." He said smirking, taking her hand and kissing the back of it gently. He pulled back quickly. "Hot." He said rubbing his lips.
Blyss smirked. "I know I am." I laughed and she leaned her head against my shoulder. The others came over to see about the new girl. "Introductions?" She asked looking up to me. "Brown eyes, cute." I thought.
"Well." I began. "Theres James, and his brother Victor which is the one you almost made a crispy critter." I said gesturing to them both. "Chris Bradley."
"Pleasure." He said shaking her hand briefly.
"Same." Blyss said politely. "And what do you do?" She asked.
"I'm a technopath." HE said proudly. He really was a good guy.
"Wow." She said impressed. "Neat, I didn't know anyone like that ever." He smiled and I continues on.
"Fred Dukes, the big guy." her eyes got wide when he approached her.
"Whoah..." she whispered. He laughed and hugged her gently. "Nice to meet you Fred."
"Same." He said. "Go easy on him." He said patting her shoulder and nearly knocking her over.
"Easy big guy." I said helping her gain her balence.
"So, like super strong or something?" She asked smiling widely.
"You could say that." We all shared a laugh.
"And Zero, doesn't really say much." I said gesturing to Zero, the only one that wasn't crowding. She nodded to him, which he returned. "Kinda a sharp shooter I guess...I don't know." He gave me the finger. "oh, thats sweet." I said shaking my head.
Just then, a wierd sound and John was there was well. "And this is John Wraith." I said as they shook hands.
"teleporter." She said nodding.
He smiled. "You got it girly." She laughed and I figured we could all go to the dining hall, she walked ahead with Fred and Chris. James wasn't far behind. I smiled watching her walk off with the guys. She looked so happy. "Be careful Wade." John said with a knowing smile.
"what?" I asked in mock surprise. "I got this. Shes just a girl." I said shrugging.
"Just a girl huh?" He laughed. "whatever puppy dog eyes." He said going off too.
I shook my head and ran off to follow her.

A lot of new content has been added to the early chapters since the end of May. The first chapters are still under construction and editing, but all the major changes are done. I was a webnovel junkie for a long time, but I found it hard to find novels with solid characters, decent plot, philosophical underpinnings and a fully painted world to keep me going. I've taken from every genre I've liked to make a story that satisfies my own cravings for a good story. If you like the story or have suggestions please leave a comment or review. I hope this novel is fun, provocative but above all fun. Enjoy. Yours truly, James Paul Addington PS I will release at least two chapters a week, or one really long chapter. Concerning the tags: The story is primarily Fantasy with Wuxia influence in some elements. Romance won't happen for the first two arcs or so (roughly 40 chapters), I want to build the world before I do that. Tragedy is because of an event that occurs in the book, not the tone of the book. The book is more lighthearted. Slice of Life doesn't occur till the third arc (the romance happens during that arc as well). Magic will also show up more in later arcs, but appears throughout. Reincarnation it's not a reincarnation like in the traditional sense, but it has a similar concept.

3 Hearts
With three hearts in one body, in a world that is inhabited by beings that are trying to kill me. How did I Civitas end up like this, although I was born completely normal... or was I? [NOTE: Ok since I am not able to bring my depressed ass to writing regularly, chapters come when they come. I can't guarantee anything, but I'll try to make chapters more frequent. Btw. In my opinion, my writing gets better after like chapter 6, so I recommend reading at least this far.]
