Scott’s P.O.V
I had a girlfriend.
Oakley was my girlfriend.
She was officially mine.
All mine, just for me.
While she slept with Jason, I thought I would help out and clean stuff up in the kitchen, just to help out Oakley and Kelly.
They were under so much panic and stress there past few days sorting everything out with Mary.
Mary, I didn’t know her very well, but she was a nice woman that deep down cared for Oakley, they fought all the time, but they did love each other.
It showed earlier today when Oakley stood up in front of everyone and spoke about her life with Mary. I started getting a little teary when she spoke about how grateful she was and how much Oakley wasn’t to pay Mary back. She was crying whilst speaking, but she held it all in for everyone else. She didn’t show any sort of weakness.
That was what Oakley was about. She didn’t want anyone to know that she was hurting, that she couldn’t deal with it all. People would always compliment on her bravery. She was brave, hell; she was one of the bravest person I knew. She wouldn’t tell anyone about her life, she was just starting to open up to me which I was so grateful for.
I walked into the kitchen and saw that Kelly was still in there packing away stuff in the fridge.
“Kelly, what are you still doing in here? I don’t think you have left the kitchen all day.” I smirked.
She jumped up obviously I caught her on surprise.
“Oh Scott, darling I had no idea you were still here.” She smiled.
“Yeah I just thought I would stay until Oakley fell asleep. Is there anything you need done around here?” I asked.
“Oh no, don’t you worry about it. You can crash on the couch tonight if you want. It’s up to you. I think I might go up to bed soon as well. It’s been a long day for all of us.” She smiled warmly.
“Go to bed now, I know where the blankets and pillows are. I’ll finish cleaning up here.” I nodded walking more into the kitchen so she couldn’t resist.
“You are so thoughtful Scott thank you.” She kissed my forehead and walked around the corner to the spare room. She didn’t want to sleep in Mary’s room which was fair enough. I don’t think anyone did, not tonight anyway.
After cleaning up in the kitchen and putting the leftovers away in the fridge, I was as tired as anything. I walked into the lounge room and laid on the long couch. I didn’t worry about the blankets. That didn’t matter.
Not when I was this tired it didn’t.
I soon fell into a hopeless sleep, thinking about my new girlfriend.
The most beautiful girl in the world.
My Oakley.
Oakley’s P.O.V
I woke up with a hand flopped down over my face. Not the most comfortable position I would have to say.
“Jason,” I shook him. He rolled up a little but still didn’t budge. “Jason, wake up!” I said a little louder. He shot up, a shocked expression was plastered on his face.
“Huh?” He asked, now rubbing his eye.
“You took up the whole bed. I woke up with you on top of me.” I smiled nudging him.
“Well that might happen when two people are in a single bed.” He smirked, not planning on apologising or anything.
“Yeah, that’s the last time I’ll do that.” I smiled wider. I’m glad Jason’s in a better mood today. He was really upset yesterday.
“Good, because you snore at night. I’m surprised the next door neighbours haven’t complained yet.” He chuckled.
“Hate to break it to you Jase, we share the same room. And we will be until I leave this place.” I laughed.
“Stop calling me Jase, Oakley.” He looked up at me and stopped smiling.
“Why, doesn’t wittle Jase like his nick name?” I smiled.
“Stop.” He grunted.
“Why it’s just a nick name, calm down.”
“My sister called me that. I thought it didn’t matter that you called me it, but it gets on my nerves, just stop it alright?” He admitted.
I looked down, suddenly feeling really bad. I didn’t even think about that. He has let me call him that for years and now he finally snapped.
“Hey, Jason I’m sorry. You should have said earlier, I would’ve stopped. I’m so sorry.” I shook my head.
“Don’t worry about it. I don’t call me that anymore.” He looked up at me and pattered my leg.
I thought that even though we were on the topic it wouldn’t hurt it ask him about his family. He was the only one I didn’t know about in the house. He was so quite when he wants to be.
“Hey Jason, what happened to your sister. You talk about her sometimes and she sounds so sweet. What happened to her?” I asked being careful.
His back stiffened. He didn’t talk about this to anyone. Talking about his feelings was a whole new thing for him. I didn’t blame him. At school I hated people knowing about me.
Not that I was ashamed or anything, I have grown to love my family. But I didn’t want that to be a weakness at school. I hated when people judged me.
“I left them when I was only little.” He told me. I was surprised he didn’t just tell me to shut up and leave.
“Why?”
“Someone took me away.” He was being very brief about this. Like he was hiding something.
“You can tell me Jason if you want to. I’m good at keeping secrets.” I smiled trying to reassure him.
“I don’t want to talk about it. I was taken from my family, that’s it. I don’t know why I was, it just happened. Mum and Dad didn’t do anything about it. They watched as I was dragged into the hands of a stranger. I hate them, and I hate it here.” He yelled getting off the bed, slamming the door behind him.
Whoa.
That was the most he has even told anyone about his past. And it was terrible. He was taken away at such a young age. But he didn’t attend the orphanage until he was ten. So where was he for two years?
He was the mystery boy arond here.
Soon, I plan to find out more about him.
Getting up of the bed, I checked my phone seeing that I have 23 missed calls and 11 texts all from Rachel. I forgot about her. She said she was going to come to the ceremony, it was all so overwhelming I didn’t even look for her. I must call her in the next few hours. It feels like I haven’t seen her in ages!

Signing, I opened the slammed door, and walked down into the lounge room and gasped when I saw Scott lying on the couch sleeping.
I didn’t even realised he stayed the night here.
“Hmm, I think I could wake up every morning to see my girlfriend staring at me.” He smirked. His voice was still sleepy; it was the most amazing sound I have heard yet.
Blushing, I giggled and stepped closer towards him.
“Hey boyfriend.” It rolled off my tough before I could stop myself.
His smirk widened. “I like the sound of that.”
“Mmm, me too!”
“Did you sleep well?” He asked.
“Yeah alright I guess. If you count waking up with Jason’s arm on top of me cutting my circulation off, then yeah, it was alright!” I laughed.
He smiled holding his arms out. I grabbed his arm and he pulled me closer to him. Clumsy me tripped over the carpet rug and fell into his arms.
Literally.
He chuckled and held me tighter.“Only you Oakley.”
Blushing even redder this time, Scott moved me over so I was sitting on his lap.
“You didn’t have to stay last night if you didn't want too Scott. You could have gone home. I have experienced sleeping on that couch before, it’s not comfortable at all.” I smiled down at him.
“He helped clean the kitchen. He is welcome to stay whenever!” A voice said from the walkway.
I turned my body and saw Aunt Kelly leaning against the wall smiling at us. She had her apron on, and one oven glove. Again, this girl was cooking. She lives in the Kitchen it’s crazy.
“Thank you Scott, for everything.” I smiled.
“Anything for my beautiful girl.” He smiled pecking me on the lips.
***
The day went by slowly, and painfully. I was so bored I was going to kill someone. Scott went home and I was sitting out in the backyard listening the radio. This was another thing that would always put me in a better mood.
No today though, I don’t think anything would put me in a better mood. Except for Scott of course. Just hearing Scott’s voice was comforting. He had a Pack meeting to attend to though. I couldn't force him to stay here forever. He had a family that he has to go home too.
Still to this day it just sounded so weird. He was a wolf.
My boyfriend is a werewolf.
That’s not something that you can say everyday now can you?
He didn’t want to leave, but also couldn’t resist his father’s orders.
There were still people coming and going, saying their condolences, bring us food. I swear, between all the food Aunt Kelly has cooked and all the food the neighbours have given us, we didn’t have to cook for a month.
I’m not joking.
We could almost feed the 5000.
I was brought out of my own little world and to reality when Chloe tapped me on the shoulder.
“Hey what’s up?” I asked turned my body around to face her.
“Someone’s at the door.” She didn’t sound happy about it.
“Who is it?” I stood up and headed inside when, she stood in front of me, I got a little worried.
“Someone wants to adopt.” Was all she said.
“That’s good right? Someone can have a new life. It'd be good if someone got adopted.” I thought.
“Not when it’s you it’s not.”
I froze.
“What did you just say?”
“Oakley, listen. You can’t go in there. They have come to adopt you. They want you! You can’t leave us, we need you! Jason needs you.” She had tears in her eyes.
I was in shock. Someone wanted to adopt me?
Pathetic me?
“Chloe it’ll be okay, alright? I’m not going anywhere. Not any time soon at least.” I said to her and walked inside where an oldish couple sat on the couch talking to Aunt Kelly.
“Oakley, I’m so glad you could join us. Come sit down.” Aunt Kelly smiled patting the seat next to her.
Awkwardly, I moved across to the spare seat and sat down staring at the two strangers in front of me.
“Oakley Green right?” The man asked.
I nodded nervously. “Yes.”
“Hello Oakley, I’m Jim, and this is my wife Lea Kelang.” He held out his hand.
“Nice to meet you.” I shook his hand and smiled at them both. I guess they seemed alright.
We talked for a few hours and I found out a little about them. Lea was an office worker. She dealer with paper work and everything that goes with that. Jim was a builder. He has been building since he left high school. They both seemed nice, but not nice enough to live with forever.
I want to stay here.
This is my home, and no one will take that away from me.
“Well Kelly, if you don’t mind, is it alright if we speak to Oakley alone for a little while?” Lea asked sweetly.
“Oh that’s fine, go ahead, I'll just be in the kitchen if you need me.” She smiled leaving me alone with the Kelangs.
I turned my attention back to Jim and Lea. They were both glaring at me.
“So Oakley, what do you think?” Jim asked.
“I’m sorry, think about what?”
“Living with us, how 'bout it?” He smiled.
What was I supposed to say?
“Um, I guess that would be alright.” I nodded slowly.
“You don’t want to leave your buddies here in the orphanage do you?” Lea butted in.
I nodded. “Yeah something like that.”
“You will come with us!” JIm growled towards me.
Instantly I thought of Scott. He always did that when he was angry. Did this mean he was a werewolf?
“Sorry?” I asked.
“You will tell Kelly that you love us, and you will move in with us weather you like it or not. You will live with us forever, and you will most defiantly not complain about it at all. Understood?” He asked.
I was shocked at JIm's outburst. They both seemed so nice earlier. Without thinking, I nodded my head, they both smiled.
“Good, lets sign the papers right away them.” Jim laughed.
What was I getting myself into?
Kelly came in right as they finished signing the papers.
“Oh, I didn’t realise you could so it this quickly.” She exclaimed.
“Yep, Oakley said she would love to come live with us, right Oakley?” He asked he. A hint of anger was in his voice.
Not knowing what I could do to get out of the situation I nodded.
“So when will Oakley be leaving?” Aunt Kelly asked overwhelmed with everything.
“We have to get double confirmation with my people back home, but that shouldn’t take long. I’ll get back to you on this, but shouldn’t be more than three weeks.” Lea nodded.
Three weeks?! That’s all I had left here? That’s was too soon. No, I can’t go then. I won’t!
“Oh my, that’s very soon. Are you sure?” Aunt Kelly asked.
“Yeah, in three weeks she will be living with us! I’m so excited!” Lea clapped her hands together.
I felt tears welling up inside of me. I didn’t want to go. I couldn’t say anything now they already signed everything.
“Where is it that you live again?” Aunt Kelly asked.
“In Melton.” Jim nodded.
“Melton?” I asked. I had never heard of that. I thought they lived around here. I wasn’t prepared to go somewhere that Scott wasn’t.
“It’s not that far away. Driving it's around seven and half hours away.”
This was when I froze. SEVEN HOURS AWAY! No, I couldn’t do that. That means, now school, new friends, new life. No, I couldn’t do that. Aunt Kelly, please don’t let me do this.
“Oh, well I suppose a new environment might do you well Oakley.” She nodded.
I wanted to scream. Everything was just falling into place. I had an amazing boyfriend. I was getting along with people at home and school. I couldn’t just pack up and leave. What about Mary? I wasn’t going to just leave her here.
No I didn’t want to go!
“Great, well we will be back in a couple of days with more information.” Jim smiled and walked towards me hugging me tightly.
“You tell anyone about our conversation, I will personally kill you myself. Don’t you talk to anyone about this. If someone asks, you are excited to stay with us and you’re counting down the days alright. Oakley?” He whispered in my ear.
I nodded frozen in place.
“Good, we look forward to having some quality time with you.” He chuckled and walked away.
I shivered, I would rather die than stay with that pig.

"I don't want to take a chance." the corner of his lips lifted a little as he finished his sentence. "Well, you don't hear me complaining. The view of a someone so desperately working out is not a delight either." I retorted in a weary voice. "I bet it isn't." he narrowed his eyes at me and commented. Ugh.. Why is he so damn annoying? He was invading my personal space, making me a bit flustered. The urge to push back his golden-brown hair covering his forehead was increasing with every passing second.
