Was it that easy for him to enter in my son's life? I mean, I spent five years in loving him, caring for him, living for him, and all it took for his father was just few minutes to make that instant connection with him.
I know I shouldn't be jealous. In fact I should be happy for him. But I can't force myself to feel happy, right? And I'm not happy. I'm absolutely annoyed and irritated with the way he just barged into my house and then calmed Reyansh. He's my son. He should listen to me. He should be asking for me. He should be calling for me. Not him. Who doesn't even remember that he had a wife and a child. He doesn't deserve my son's innocent love.
"Stop shaking your legs.", Ma said placing her hand on my knee. I abruptly stopped and breathed out a tired sigh. "You should eat something.", She said pushing some strands off my face.
"He didn't even asked me whether I have eaten or not. But he immediately caught it when Kabir lied about dinner. And on the top of it, he ordered me to feed his father.", I said shaking my head at the absurdity of the situation.
"Rivaah, he's a child. He's just happy that his father is here.", She said softly.
"How is this even possible though? I mean, the kid had never seen his father before today. Just on the magazines, television and videos. How can he accept him so easily?", Pooja mumbled to herself.
I frowned.
Even I'm confused about it. How can their connection be so strong when they've never met each other before this day.
If they've such a strong bonding right on the first meet, what if they form an unbreakable connection and he becomes daddy's son. What if he forgets me? What if he no more needs me?
"Rivaah?", I flinched and sat up straight.
"Is he not leaving?", Ma asked and I shook my head. "Why?", Her brows furrowed.
"Reyansh made a deal with him. If he wins the game of Ludo, Kabir will stay. Unfortunately, he won.", I said as I pulled my knees closer to my chest.
"Oh.", Ma sighed before she got up. "Well, then there's no point in staying up late. It's already past ten. We should go to sleep. Tomorrow's Monday.", She said before picking up the cutleries from tea table and heading inside kitchen.
"Goodnight, Di.", Pooja murmured before she yawned and left to her room.
"You should sleep now, baccha. Good night.", Dad said before he too left.
"Turn off the lights once you go to sleep. Hmm?", Ma told me as she came out of the kitchen. I nodded and she too headed to their bedroom after whispering a good night.
I exhaled tiredly before slowly laying my head on the crest rail and staring at the spotless wall. It was an hour later that I fell asleep.
"Di? Di!", A small shake on my shoulder jerked me awoke. I gasped before sitting straight.
"Wha-What? Is Reyansh fine?", I asked as I took a glance around, but found myself in living room. Why am I not in my bedroom?
"You slept here all night?", She questioned and last night's incidents came rushing back to me. I yawned before shifting back on the couch and nodding.
"Oh right he was in the room. You could have come in my room then?", She said as she sat beside me.

"It's okay. What time is it now?", I asked as I tried to focus on the wall clock. But I was still half asleep, so my sight wasn't that great.
"It's six am now.", She whispered to me.
"Why are you awake at this time?", I asked her with a frown etched on my face. She never wakes up before eight. Let alone at this time when it's still dark outside.
"We've an Alumni function organized today. So the final year students are called early to do the preparations.", She shrugged her shoulders. I noticed she was already all dolled up for today.
"Oh okay. Is mom awake?", I asked as I looked into kitchen. Old habit. Whenever I want to find my mother, I will always try to glance inside kitchen. As if she lives within those four walls. I should really give her more credit to what she does for us. I hope my son will acknowledge me after he grows up.
"Nope. I'm the early riser today.", She smiled proudly. "By the way, if you want to sleep some more, you can go to my room.", She said after getting up.
"No it's fine. I'm already awake now. I'll just take a shower.", I said lazily as another yawn invaded my speech.
"Suits you. I'm leaving now.", She said grabbing her backpack and then kissing my cheek before silently leaving the house.
I slowly opened the door to my bedroom, it has a very bad habit of making that annoying and scary creaky sound when there's dead silence around. I cautiously stepped inside and breathed out in relief as I saw them deep asleep.
The sight before me, practically melted me.
Kabir was not wearing any t-shirt. Just his grey sweats that he came in last night. I looked around the room and saw his t-shirt near the dressing table.
Also he was not covered with duvet, while on the contrary, Reyansh was wrapped up in sheets resembling the mummy of ancient Egypt. Only his face was out. And if that was not enough, Kabir had his arm around him in a protective grip and the side of Reyansh's head was pressed on his chest.
I smiled at their sleeping position.
What struck me was how similar their faces looked while asleep. Kabir's mouth was slightly open and so was Reyansh's. Kabir's knee was slightly bent and so was Reyansh's. Now I know from where he adopted the trait of sleeping like a ninja on bed, unlike me who sleep like a straight log. They really do say, like father like son.
Shaking my head, I slowly crept inside bathroom and closed door in a way that it won't make any disturbing sound.
After I was done brushing my teeth and showering, I dried myself with towel and then turned to grab my clothes.
"Oh shit!", How the hell did I forget to take my clothes!? Ugh!
Even my old clothes are damp with water. What should I wear now?
After contemplating for another fifteen minutes, I decided to try my luck and get out. Wrapping the wet towel around my naked body, I tip toed out of bathroom and heaved a sigh of relief when I saw them still in deep slumber.
Don't wake up please.
Don't wake up.
Sleep tight.
I said in my brain as I walked up to the closet. Opening it, I took out my clothes and then immediately closed it shut. I gulped as the silence and darkness around me was making me uncomfortable and awkward. My hold around the unreliable knot tightened and I turned around only to shriek in surprise.

He was in my personal space with one large step. Holding me hostage against the closet, he had his hand pressed on my mouth, stopping me from making anymore noises. The only light that came through window illuminated his eyes keeping the rest of his features in dark. His onyx eyes dilated as they met my wide ones. I gulped and it was audible.
His eyes narrowed slightly, before they agonizingly slowly raked up and down my body. I grew nervous. My one hand was still holding the knot tightly and the other was on his hand that was covering my mouth. It was a reflex action.
"Morning wood along with a half-naked beautiful woman to look at as soon as I wake up. Such a sweet morning.", He chuckled breathily.
I blinked and avoided his piercing darkened gaze.
"Daddy?", My eyes widened and I scurried front, pressing myself against Kabir's body, trying to hide myself from Reyansh's eyes. Kabir's hand left my mouth and rested against the closet door behind me, as he shifted to side to cover me.
I hope he hasn't seen me. I don't want him to witness me like this with Kabir.
"Sleep, Reyansh.", He said strenuously. Is it because of my hand that is on his chest?
"I wanna cuddle.", Reyansh whined.
"Just a minute, darling. Daddy will be back.", He said before taking a sharp breath as my hand moved. I bit on my bottom lip, wanting to face palm myself.
"Hmm hmm. Okay. Come soon.", Reyansh mumbled before I heard some shuffling.
"Is he asleep?", I asked in a whisper. Because of Kabir's height, I couldn't even see anything. Not even a glance past his shoulder. He's that freaking tall. And I was afraid to move. What if I get caught?
"Not yet.", Kabir whispered back. I sighed in frustration.
"Now?", I asked after a minute.
"It's just been, what? Ten seconds!? Stop being so impatient!", He hissed in my ear.
Oh! I thought it was already a minute.
I counted until sixty in my head. To be on the safe side, I counted extra ten seconds. "Now?"
"No, babe.", His tone turned husky and hoarse.
"Kabir, it's cold and I'm almost naked. Isn't he asleep!?", I asked as I slightly stomped on my place.
"Hmm hmm. Just a minute more.", He hummed and ten seconds later- because I was counting again- I felt his hot tongue stroking the bare skin on my shoulder. He nuzzled his nose in the crook of my neck before dragging it up until my jaw and then moving to the other side. I clenched my hands in tight fists. They were itching to shove him away. But I can't do that. After always demanding to have sex with him, I can't push him back now when he's the one initiating the intimacy.
"You turned me on. Now you've to take care of it.", He whispered in my ear before slightly biting down on my earlobe.
I don't want to do this right now.
Not when my son is sleeping in the same room.
"Kabir, Reyansh is-"
"We can continue this in bathroom.", He whispered as he pressed wet kisses along the length of my jaw.
My stomach coiled in fear and disgust.
"The walls are not sound proof.", I said and heard him sigh defeatedly.
"Ugh!", He groaned before getting off me and stepping back.
I pressed my clothes against my chest before speedily walking inside bathroom. Once I had closed the door, I rested my back against it and let my eyes flutter close. I could literally hear my heart racing. It was that fast. My hand ran across my other arm and I felt the goosebumps along the length of my skin.
After I was ready, I came out and saw both of them already awake and playing pillow fight with each other on bed. Kabir's eyes met mine and he smirked. His distraction worked in Reyansh's favour and he hit him with pillow.
"I won!", He yelled victoriously.
"You cheater!", Kabir gasped before pulling Reyansh underneath him and tickling his sole. Reyansh laughed loudly. I smiled as I stared at them. I've never seen him so happy. Was he never happy with me? Was I not enough?
I dropped my towel on cloth rack before heading out.
An hour later, Kabir and Reyansh came out. Reyansh forced him to have breakfast with us.
After breakfast, he was almost close to crying as Kabir stood up to leave.
"Promise me you'll come to meet me day after tomorrow?", Reyansh said forwarding his hand.
"I promise!", Kabir said quickly sealing their promise with a peck.
"We all can go to zoo. What do you think, Rivaah?", He asked as he stood straight.
"Uh? Oh yeah.", I nodded hesitantly.
Ma took Reyansh back to his room for bath and I escorted Kabir out.
"Don't give him false hopes, Kabir. I think this was enough now.", I said and he turned to me with a frown.
"I said I may not be permanent in his life and he's fine with that."
"That's because he's a kid!", I snapped back. "How can you be so dumb? He's a small four year child, Kabir! Right now he'll do anything and say everything that'll make you stay beside him. Did you just see him now? He was about to cry but he held himself back.", I said and noticed his face morphing into disappointment and anger.
"I promised him, Rivaah. And I don't break my promises!", He stated with finality before heading towards elevator.
I groaned as I rubbed my temples out of frustration. Striding inside, I grabbed my handbag and searched for a Advil inside. Because of not getting enough sleep, and then waking up early, and then this drama. My headache was getting worse.
Instead of pill, I found the pregnancy test kit that I had bought few days ago.
Should I try again?
After sending a small prayer to God, I decided to give it a try.
Once I was done, I left it on the wash basin and came back to kitchen to make myself a cup of coffee. By the time I was done having my coffee, it was already fifteen minutes later.
With bated breath, I entered inside bathroom and grabbed the kit but didn't even spared a glance at it.
Please... Please!
The moment I saw two red lines, I screamed.
