Trish Una thought the day couldn't get any worse. Losing her mother to an illness at the hospital just a couple weeks ago. The young fifteen year old grieved over her mother as she was the only one who raised her. Raised Trish without a father in sight, she remembered how much her mother would reminisce the days when she met her father.
The man who left her and her mother behind without a single word.
Wanting to know more about their past, Trish decides to research. Living her years in Sardinia with her mother, she never expect this to happen to her. Hiding behind a wooden crate, she hug her legs close to her chest. Biting the bottom of her lip to prevent any noise escaping her lips, Trish caught the sounds of frantic footsteps coming close behind. The young girl curses at herself for entering an abandoned factory to escape men who are close to her heel. Close to the doorway, her ears caught a bit of their conversation.
She doesn't know what they are talking about but she doesn't want to find out from these stalkers. Her throat tightens when one of the men step closer to her hiding spot. Her back press against the wooden crate, a poor attempt to hide her presence further. Her blue eyes look up to see a man wearing a black suit, well-kept compare to the people in her town. Heart beating against her chest, her body shakes when realizing that her time is up. Before she can breathe, the sound of heels click against the concrete ground.
Four men in suits turn to the doorway to see a slender feminine figure wearing colors of pink, white, and brown. Her hair matches well with her clothes with the colors of pink and brown with a streak of white. Her stature stood at five foot one. In her black leather gloves, the figure held a pink lacy parasol. Her pink and brown eyes held playfulness when looking at the men in the building. Her lips form a smirk.

Trish blinks as the man close to him approaches the young woman. "Hey, get out of here girl. Unless you want to interfere with gang business." He warns. Trish peek out from her spot to take in the sight of the woman. Her eyes widen at the appearance. Compare to her, she looks close to her age if not younger. His question is met with silence. The woman tap her chin with her right index finger as if she is thinking for a moment. Then, she motions a come hither to the men as her answer.
The men glares at the intruder's gesture. One of them approach the woman with his brass knuckles ready to spill some blood even if it is a woman. Swinging his fist at the woman, she simply move her head to the side then strikes her parasol tip at the man's stomach. A loud shout left the man's lips as he took a couple steps back. Holding his stomach, the other men saw blood forming.
Eyes turns to the parasol with a sharp metal point sticking out from the tip. Opening her parasol, she twirls it around playfully to rest it on her shoulder. Trish watches the men charge in to overwhelm the woman with the parasol. She watches the woman twists her body side to side, even moving her body like a gymnast. She even uses her parasol as a way to control the fight by using the curved handle to pull down one man's hand down as she strikes his face with her high kick.
Blinking once, she almost lost sight of the woman as she appears behind one man to deliver a stab into the man's throat. Trish felt sick at the sight of death as the woman doesn't bat an eye. She resumes her swift attacks at the men until one of them took his last breath. The woman stands straight up as the man lands on the ground with a loud thud. With a click, her hidden blade disappears with a close of her parasol.

Now, pink and brown eyes connect with blue eyes. Her serious eyes turn into sympathy when looking at the frighten Trish. The pink haired woman saw the woman took a breath then slowly walk towards Trish like she is frighten animal. Standing in front of Trish, the woman bends her knees to her eye level. Trish pulls back to create distance between her and the woman.
Blue eyes watches the woman put down her parasol next her left - silently telling Trish that she isn't a threat to her. Trish looks at the woman with confusion when she realizes that she doesn't utter a single word. "...Who are you?" She broke the silence, wanting answers. The woman's hands begins to make gestures to answer her question. This made Trish more confused. Then, her mind clicks.
"...You can't talk?" The sight of the woman nodding her head. "Oh..." Trish only said. The woman could see discomfort from Trish. She decides to make another gesture. Trish watches the woman holds up her index fingers then link them together. Back and forth, she replay this gesture back and forth a couple times to Trish. For some reason, Trish is able to understand this gesture.
"Friend?"
Trish saw her eyes lit up as she silently praises the young girl. Compare to before, the woman has no sign of being threatening towards her. Behind those eyes, Trish felt like she can trust this mute woman. The woman holds out her right hand for Trish to take in which she took. Pulling her up to her feet, the woman took the parasol with her left hand. Trish held the woman's right hand tightly, avoiding to look at the dead men on the ground.
The faint smell of vanilla caught Trish's nose. Exiting the building, Trish saw the sight of a black Mercedes car park a few steps away. Standing next to the car, there is elderly man wearing a white buttoned shirt and black dress pants. The woman gesture friends to Trish before they approach the man. Like the woman before Trish, he looks friendly. The man give them a comforting smile. "Well done, Latte. I hope everything is well." The man said.
"Latte?" Trish looks at the woman in which she nods her head to confirm that it is her name. "As you have notice, she doesn't talk." He explains, "Her name is Latte Spumoni." Latte waves her left hand to Trish in greetings. "My name is Pericolo, please to meet you Trish Una."
This made her cautious. Latte has a slight frown to see discomfort on Trish's expression. She tap on the man's shoulders then gestures them to the car. Pericolo agrees with Latte. Latte opens the door for Trish which she cautiously enters. Pericolo enters the passenger's seat as Latte took the driver's seat.
Driving away from the building. She listens to Pericolo's reason why they are here. As the information rests in her mind, Trish didn't expect that her life will be changed this way.
She would have never expect that she is the daughter of Passione's secretive boss.

The Fall of The Gods
Synopsis: In the year 1966, an army of Orishas led by Sango stormed Amadioha’s palace and razed it the ground, starting a decades-long war between two of Nigeria’s most powerful divine orders. Blinded by the rage of battle, the gods did not detect the rise of a third power, far greater and deadlier than anything they could have imagined. When gods, on both the Yoruba and Igbo sides, begin falling mysteriously to their death, Sango seeks the help of Odion, a Lagos teenager destined to rise from his dark past to become a hero. But can a human hero save the gods from a doomed fate? The Fall of the Gods is an action-packed YA fantasy based on the mythical bond that ties human life with the realm of the divine. It demonstrates the power of stories to change our lives. It also reminds us that Sango and Amadioha are not relics of the past and that, sometimes, what it means to be a hero in today’s world is knowing how to find inspiration in the stories of the gods. PLEASE NOTE: Weekly chapters will be released every friday along with interludes once in a while about Nigerian mythology. I'm a young 17 year old writer and I am new to the site so I will appreciate your comments and reviews. Thank you very much.
