《Reid and the awkward girl | S.R.》3

Dr. Reid practically becomes their second teacher during the next week. The class warmed up to him a little more and he stopped trying to impress them all with his terrible jokes. Even though Danny missed hearing them, she was probably the only one.
Danny only had Mr. Charles class two times a week, but those were always the best two days for her. She would see her favorite teacher, and her favorite BAU member.
Spencer and Danny shared quick looks during the time he lectured. Their eyes meeting for brief moments and darting away just as quickly. It was like a childish game of tag, and they couldn't stop playing.
After class the second day of Dr. Reid teaching, Danny met him at the front like before while everyone else filed out. This time, it was a meeting of smiles and laughs. Danny and Spencer never seemed embarrassed about what they said. Even when the conversation led them to their favorite tv shows. Danny was surprised he had never watched The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air: her favorite tv show. But she was even more awed when he talked about a show she had never watched: Dr. Who. Spencer went on and on. Danny couldn't find it in herself to stop him when it was getting later, he just looked adorable. It was amazing to see the way his face lit up when talking about things he loved.
Today, Danny wanted to have another conversation with Spencer. One that would be just as Interesting as the last two. But as she was slowly packing up, to stall while people left, another girl got ahead of her.
Danny didn't know what to do. The Chatty Cathy that frequently ruined Danny's afternoons with quiet insults at Spencer, is now talking to the man. The beautiful girl with an ugly personality is talking to the one person this girl always seemed to hate. Yet, her face seemed like the opposite. Danny tilted her head at the duo and narrowed her eyes at the other girls finger that was wrapping her hair around. Is she flirting? With Spencer? And Spencer seemed to not mind at all.

It makes sense though. Why would he ditch a perfectly pretty girl like her, just to talk with Danny again. And what would they talk about? Movies this time? Maybe something totally random like dinosaurs or planetary phenomena? No wonder he took the first chance he got to talk to a gorgeous girl like her. Spencer was amazing just by himself, he could get any girl he wanted. Who was she kidding, he probably had a fan club lined up to date him.
Danny shoves her folder and notebook in her backpack at almost supersonic speed. Her heart is hammering in anticipation of booting out the door. How could she be so stupid? While shoving her notebook deep into her back pack, she slices a thin line onto her index finger. The paper cut not deep enough to draw blood, but she curses out loud with the sting.
Her cheeks heat up as she gains the attention of the two companions in the room. Spencer looks on in concern and the Becky Bitch sneers. Well she can obviously tell that she isn't wanted here by them. And she doesn't need anyone's pity. Especially pity from Spencer Reid. He was probably pitying her all along.
The backpack thumps on her back as she throws it over her shoulder and high tails it out of the room. Thankfully, she thinks, that she might have missed a disgusting display of mouth to mouth. Her heart is already crushed enough. She doesn't need to stick around to watch a show.
"Wait," Danny hears a voice faintly as she is already halfway down the hallway. The timber is faint and a little high pitched but she can tell it's a man. And she's ashamed that she already knows who it is, just by the sound of his voice.

She never turns around. Instead, the embarrassed girl puts her head down and speeds up her walking. The soft thud on the floor the only sound in the desolate hallway.
Spencer never called for her again.

Authors note:
I like to add a little bit of myself in each of the characters I create. Here, Danny loves the show the fresh prince of bel air. I was a sucker for that show back in high school.

Outlook: The Stars (Consciousness Unbound Book 1)
The year is 2152. Rune Yahui is a nineteen-year-old failure, not having gained entrance to college or the military, with no significant prospects in life. Even worse, Rune is the poorest of the poor, hailing from the mega-slums of New Southern Chicago, the lowest pit of America. In a desperate last-ditch attempt to gain a future more lustrous than toiling the rest of his days away in abhorrent conditions in one of the near sweat-shop level factories that dot the megapolis, Rune signs up for the Virtual Citizen program, a program to cull the excessive world population by transferring just their brains into a video game. In a stroke of rare luck, Rune is admitted into the program and happily submits himself to the surgery and digitization process. Unfortunately for him, he wakes up several hundred years later than he expected... or does he? **Author's Note** This isn't a type of story typical to RRL. You may have noticed LitRPG in the tags, but it's a relatively minor element in the story until later. You may also notice Slice of Life is in the tags. This story is going to be slow and there won't be any power tripping until way later if at all. The focus will be on character development. That doesn't mean I won't still have action/excitement, however. I encourage you to give the story a try. Maybe it will be your thing, maybe it won't. Thanks for even taking the time to read this, and if you do give my fiction a try, I hope you enjoy it. If you don't, well, I hope you find something that you do enjoy. Happy reading!
