《I See You [Sesshomaru]》Chapter 61

Endless War by Within Temptation
Naraku ripped through the boar soldiers that had come charging towards him. They had become separated from their leaders and took on the half-demon alone thinking that somehow there was a chance. How easy it was to overpower and silence their squeals. But something began to bother him. It was a sound over the noise of the battle raging on around him. As if something was charging in their direction. But it wasn't part of his plan. The second wave had already come and his enemies were all accounted for and could not be making this sound. It was coming behind them, from the direction the households came.
Turning towards the hill his eyes narrowed. It was getting louder.
A figure emerged from the other side, perched on the back of a large white wolf. The individual caused the half-demon to analyze them more carefully before it hit him. Mouth slightly parting his eyes widened at the very sight of the seemingly alive Queen of the North. She charged across the grass on Tobi's back crouching low to give them speed. And the pack was only feet behind in a triangle formation with equal speed. No one from his horde had noticed the approaching danger. The households' second wave. It was a sneak attack as a roar of noise came from behind them. Figures began emerging now. Soldiers from the Hawk Clan, humans from the north and various places of Japan, half-demons, and demon clans that he had pushed out were all in attendance. Those close to where the wave would hit finally took notice, stunned by their thundering footfalls and ferocious nature. Their numbers were almost as great as a household's forces. And among the stampede, Naraku could see Inuyasha, Kagome, and their wretched friends as his brows narrowed.
Arm extended with her blade in hand Akiko gave a battle cry, the others following suit, as they ripped into the horde without faltering in their trajectory. The army spread out to help where needed, the sudden appearance of the fifth household taking many by surprise. By the time it reached Lord Orochi he was confused, knowing from his spies those that were before them were the only numbers they had. "You have failed me, Lord Orochi," Naraku's voice echoed around him. Looking to a flying insect, the snake glared at the insult. "Your one claim that you had destroyed any hope for the north was false. She is here." Enraged he was about to bite back that what he spoke was a lie when a wolf ripped a lizard demon off its feet and made off with them into the fight. The pack had not been within Lord Sesshomaru's army he then realized. "Deal with this problem before I do it myself." With a growl, the lord cut off the head of a tanukis demon. This time he would do the hunting himself.

The Lord of the West shoved the dead reincarnation off the end of his sword, her body wasting away in wisps of green smoke. Looking for a new target, Sesshomaru was aware that Akiko and her forces had arrived. Even Inuyasha and his friends had rushed by without a second thought, setting their sights on Naraku somewhere among the forces. Though the dog demon was having a difficult time pin pointing the half-demon sensing reincarnations spread throughout the field and his wasps. All he could do was keep fighting forward as he kept an eye out for the reincarnation before killing a snake demon that lashed out.
Tobi's large paws ripped and trampled all demons that dared to challenge him, jaws clamping around demons and snapping them in half. On his back, Akiko cut down demon flying through the air in an attempt to knock her off or those that came up from behind once the half-demon's jaw was clear of them. The ice covering the blade sliced through skin staining the surface. Even her free hand lashed out releasing blasts of cold air that would throw the enemy away freezing them to the ground from the force or completely covering a portion of their body that made movement impossible. Noticing multiple flying insects heading in their direction their poison could not be consumed by Tobi as the reincarnation threw around her weapon releasing a barrage of ice crystals. Their sharp edges cut through the air destroying every one of them. "Your left!" Aisu shouted.
Turning, a leopard cat had its eyes on the young woman, lunging with its canines bare to tear her off the top of the beta. Leading back, Akiko's spine pressed against Tobi's as the animal passed inches from her chest. But the action forced the young woman to loose her grip as her body rolled from the half-demon's back and to the ground. The second she landed, the animal had as well, turning back on the reincarnation. Shoving the blade into the ground ice scattered across the surface effectively trapping the leopard in place. It yowled and snarled in anger at being caught as Akiko thrust a palm forward allowing a shard to escape. It pierced the animal's chest killing it instantly when there was a bellow from behind.

A feral black bear snarled as it paced around her with red eyes. It was three times her size as Akiko surveyed the situation when Tobi came barreling out of the fighting around her. The half-demon tackled the bear to the ground as the two rolled across it trying to gain the upper hand by latching their razor sharp teeth into each other. She wished to help, but her blade locked with a salamander demon holding him back with a bit of difficulty due to his hulking size. The blade pulsed with energy as the ice began crawling over the demon's blade before shooting down the length of the weapon and covering him from the hand to elbow. With a screech the enemy pulled away in pain for the ice was painful. It felt like millions of needles were piercing its skin, waving the arm about to try and let go. The noise drew the attention of his comrades, whose brows narrowed on the reincarnation's position before charging.
With the blade dragging across the grass she then flick it up, as an icy wave seemed to emit from the ground and shoot out. The attack caught up everything in its path, either imprisoning or impaling the salamanders in its way.
Tatara slid to a stop beside the reincarnation, tossing away a snake from its teeth. "I thought you were with Tobi," he shouted.
"We were separated," she answered back over the noise.
A howl had his ears pulling back with a growl, not wanting to leave the reincarnation alone, yet knowing that someone was calling for aid. "Go!" Akiko shouted. She knew something was wrong as Tatara rushed off into the forces. A bat demon dove through the air towards the reincarnation with a hawk following swiftly behind trying to catch it. With fangs extended it was aiming for the limited area of skin that was exposed around the neck. Her head whipped up upon sensing its approach, startling the demon when the young woman blew out a great gust of air from her lips the cold sensation causing frost to obscure its vision and freeze its wings into place. Unable to move the demon hit the ground when Akiko sidestepped the attack allowing her to run her blade cleanly through its back.
Glancing around she couldn't tell at the moment who was winning. Both sides were not relenting against the other and the body count was beginning to pile up. Her shoes were covered in blood from the soaked grass, some of it having even stained her hands from the close combat. Through the fighting she barely made out any of the other wolves, spinning out of the way of a snake that attempted to strike. Swinging around the Ice Blade it cut off its head.
Something hit the ground a few feet behind Akiko, turning to face another opponent. But there was nothing standing before her as she glanced down towards the ground. Someone's helmet then, or a body part–
It was a horokubiya bomb as it slowly rolled to a halt. The stem was burning down as Akiko's eyes widened upon realizing there was no time to extinguish it, shouting, "Bomb!" causing those nearby that could to scatter.
Turning to run an arm swiped out, the young woman attempting to create a wall of thick ice to hold off the blast. But there wasn't enough time as the rope burned inside the compartment exploding with a great bang.

The Stars Have Eyes
The universe was a vast, empty, dark, and uncaring place. Then life happened, and the universe was changed forever. Only a teeny-tiny bit, but definitely different. Then again, the universe changes a teeny-tiny bit every second of every day. For instance, if someone were to get off the couch and randomly drink a glass of milk? Bam! One less glass of milk in the universe. Changed forever. Well, excluding any time-travel shenanigans, but anyone who puts a big old hole in the time-space continuum just to un-drink a glass of milk should really reevaluate their priorities. Unless, of course, they were attempting to prevent some massive catastrophe vis-a-vis said glass of milk. Such a scenario is by no means impossible, as one should never underestimate the importance of calcium. Another important tip for any life forms out there is to keep things in perspective. Some look at the vastness of creation in relation to themselves and go, ‘Man, this sucks!’ These people really need to narrow their focus. Sure, they will never affect anything happening on the other end of the galaxy, but so what? That’s way the heck over there, where it doesn’t matter. Therefore, in order to maintain a healthy mindset, it is important to narrow one’s perspective to the things and people that affect them, and that they can affect in turn. But what happens if one is an unfathomable cosmic being from beyond the veil of reality? What happens when such an existence is capable of influencing entire swathes of the universe just by its presence? A creature such as Magh'rathlak the Observer? That particular entity is only about average as far as reality-warping creatures from the dawn of time go, so its influence over the fabric of reality is rather limited. And it still struggles to keep things in perspective. That, among other things, is why it decided to narrow its worldview a bit by compressing the maddening vastness of its being into a single corporeal form. Magh'rathlak had never tried such a feat, but that wasn't about to stop it. After all, how hard could being human possibly be?
