Natsu pov:

Its been a week since my confession to Sesshomaru. And things have been working out great. We love each other, at least I assume that Sesshomaru loves me since I’ve been getting the royal treatment and occasional showers of his affection like kisses, sitting in his lap and such.

And of course, Rin is overjoyed at the fact that we’re together.

I still take care of Kaito and Rin but I wear pretty much royal clothes and have my own bed and stuff. Sesshomaru wanted me to sleep in the same room as him at first, but I convinced him that Rin and Kaito were still too young to sleep on their own. Well, that wasn’t really the case, since even if I was with Sesshomaru we were just next door….but I felt our progress in the relationship was a bit too fast. So I used the kids as a reason to shield my awkwardness.

Of course, things about Sesshomaru and I being together spread like wild fire and all the female demons and humans in the castle had turned from haters to enemies. And believe me, having haters is a lot easier than having enemies….especially when they are the jealous female race.

I sighed as I walked through the corridors. I had a bunch of Rin’s and Kaito’s washed clothes that I was taking back to their room and passing through the corridors had seriously become a pain. Every passing female servant sent glares my way and every passing male servant stared at me like I had mysteriously grown a second head. And so I kept my gaze on the floor to prevent myself from blowing up and screaming my head off at anyone.

I tilted my head up when I reached the kid’s room and a smile lit up my face automatically when I saw Sesshomaru. I felt my face get a little hot but I stood in front of him and smiled. “Hey Sesshomaru.” I greeted and he stared at me with his usual stoic face. It was nice that he cared for me, but sometimes, I wished that he could show a little more emotion besides that emotionless and business face he always had. I mean, he didn’t even smile!

He bent down and I closed my eyes when his lips touched mine. He placed his clawed hand on my cheek and tilted my head upward to deepen the kiss. We were standing in the middle of the corridor and I could hear people passing by, but I didn’t care. At first when Sesshomaru kissed me in the middle of the corridor I was really flustered, but seeing that he didn’t care about what others thought or said, he did it often. Its not just because I had to comply, but if I really loved him, I don’t think there was a need to be shy about expressing my love openly right? So I kissed back not embarrassed.

He pulled away and I smiled with a blush. He could make my heart pound so easily, and my military stoic personality just fly out the window. Even when I was with my ex, I had never felt such a strong sense of passion….in fact, I didn’t know such a strong feeling even existed.

His hand was still placed gently on my cheek and I closed my eyes and placed my hand on top of his. He pulled away and I chuckled. He moved away and I entered the kid’s room. He followed me in and I could feel his gaze on me as I placed the clean clothes in the cupboard and proceeded to clear up the mess of toys that were scattered across the room.

“Natsu.” His voice rang in authority and I turned to face him. “Yeah?” “Pack some clothes and medicine. We will leave the castle to look for Naraku. I wish to destroy him.” I blinked. Was it because he had tried to hurt Rin and me? “Ok….but is it really necessary? I mean, its not like he can come into the castle and try to hurt any of us again….”

He furrowed his brows and took steps to me. “That b****** will not get away with making a fool of this Sesshomaru and attempting to use his as one of his foolish pawns.” I nodded. So it looks like we weren’t the only reason. Apparently, there was already a conflict between them. Suddenly feeling warm, I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him. I closed my eyes and sighed. “I love you, Sesshomaru.”

He wrapped his arm around me as well and we stayed like that until we heard giggling. I pulled away and saw Rin and Kaito giggling while blushing as they watched us. I chuckled and shook my head. I moved away from Sesshomaru and gave them a playful glare. “You shouldn’t peek when mommy and daddy are hugging.” They chuckled and squealed

They ran to us and hugged me around the waist. I laughed softly and patted their heads. “Pack things for them too.” Sesshomaru said and walked out of the room. “Ne chan….what did lord Sesshomaru mean? Is he going to send us away?” Kaito asked while tightening his grip on my dress. He looked scared and I chuckled. “No, we’re just going on a small adventure. And he doesn’t want to leave you guys alone in the castle.”

They cheered and went to get out a pair of clothes that they would carry during the journey.

I sat on the bed and watched them as they squealed in excitement and asked each other suggestions on what to bring on their trip. I frowned slightly when I watched Kaito. He had begun to get stronger. He could bring out and retract his wings as he wanted and his demonic power was starting to get more pronounced. Just as Rei had said, he had begun to unconsciously control the shadows.

He had used the shadows once to protect Rin from one of the servants. I wasn’t there at that time since I was taking care of Sesshomaru when he was unconscious. I was informed about it later by Kazuki and Kasito had come to me and cried to sleep from the fear of what he had done.

Seeing him begin to get more aware of what he could do, I had started to think that it was time he got some proper training to control his power. Of course, I trusted him that he was good and wouldn’t hurt anyone he considered dear to him like me and Rin, but if he didn’t get the hang of controlling his power, he could end up harming someone unintentionally.

I guess it would have to wait until after the trip though. I would ask Kazuki to help him once we got back to the castle.

We were walking through the forest now. It was fresh and silent….not with noisy servant and unwanted whispering. Rin and Kaito were stuck to each other and chatting happily as they walked. Jaken was walking next to Sesshomaru who was all the way at the front leading the group and I was walking with Ah Un, the 2 headed dragon that Sesshomaru had.

I was awe struck when I saw the dragon. He was a demon, but a herbivore…..which was kinda surprising. And he took a liking to me almost immediately and I walked next to him with my hand caressing his neck.

I looked at the sky. It was clear blue and white puffy clouds were seen in between. In all, it was a nice trip. Atleast, that’s how it started out. And being in this feudal era meant not really knowing what could happen.

We walked for a few hours and my feet were starting to hurt. I wasn’t used to walking with such thin and terrain un friendly shoes. I always wore sneakers or boot and it was easy to travel on extreme terrain with them. I sighed and smiled sheepishly when Sesshomaru took a glance at me. He suddenly stopped walking and placed his hand on the hilt of his sword.

I blinked and looked at the sky when it suddenly turned dark purple and there was intense thunder and lightning. I narrowed my eyes and motioned for Kaito and Rin to get behind me. the purple cloud touched the ground and I glared when Naraku stepped out of it.

Sesshomaru was ready to attack and Naraku looked at me with a smirk. “Well, well….it seems lord Sesshomaru has taken quite a liking to the human….and even a half demon.” His smirk widened and I got out the twin blades that I had packed for the time when we would have to fight.

He chuckled and I saw a Kagura appear next to him. She was the same person who had attacked me the other day at the castle and caused me to get injured. I remembered the kind of attack she had so I was on full guard now. “I kicked your butt last time, and I’ll do it again!” I sneered at him and he lost his smirk. I smirked this time and he sent a glare at me. “Wench!”

My senses perked up and I turned around and bloaked a sickle like blade that was close to slicing me in half. It was a boy, not more than 13 or 14 years old. He wore something like a uniform…black and green and his eyes looked glazed over. Like he was hypnotized and I guess that Naraku was somehow controlling him.

Sesshomaru had begun to attack Naraku and Kagura was being distracted by Ah Un. Kaito had taken Rin to hide in the bushed and he was crouching in front of her to shield and protect her.

I continued to block the attacks of the boy but I didn’t fight back. He looked innocent, and just because he was being controlled by Naraku, it doesn’t mean I would hurt him. I couldn’t. He was just a child! I mentally cursed when I saw that Ah Un was starting to get over powered by Kagura’s attacks.

Just then, the boy disappeared and Naraku appeared in front of me. “Shit!” I cursed as he brought a huge sword down at me. I knew I wouldn’t be able to block it and Sesshomaru was too far to get to me in time. I shut my eyes and shielded myself with the sword even though I knew it wouldn’t help much and I waited for impact.

“Wind scar!” I never felt Naraku’s blade and I opened my eyes at the voice I heard. In front of me stood a guy with similar long silver hair and golden eyes as Sesshomaru holding an incredibly huge sword. He had dog ears on top of his head and wore a red outfit. He had managed to get Naraku away from me and I turned to the side when I heard rustling of the bushes.

3 more people appeared out of the bushes and I watched them curiously. One had a similar outfit as the boy who I was fighting with, and another looked like a monk, and the third was wearing a sailor uniform. On her shoulder was a cute fox kid and behind them was a huge 2 tailed saber tooth cat. They all positioned their weapons and began to attack Naraku and his minions.

I guess he realized he was out numbered so he cursed at us and disappeared in a cloud of smoke.

“Dammit! He got away again!” The one with the silver hair muttered and then turned to Sesshomaru. “Sesshomaru!” I sweatdropped. “If it isn’t my foolish half breed brother.” I blinked. I didn’t know he had a half brother…..and I cant believe he called his own family with an insult.

I sighed. And suddenly all the attention was got to me. “Who are you? What are you doing with Sesshomaru?” “Inuyasha! Stop being so rude!” The girl in the sailor uniform scolded the half demon and I coughed back a chuckle. “My name’s Natsu. I’m Rin’s and Kaito’s care taker….and…” “They don’t need to know, Onna. Lets go.”

Sessomaru turned around swiftly and began to walk away leaving the one called Inuyasha screaming but the girl holding him back. “Uh…I….” I shook my head and bowed to the new people I had met. “Sorry.” I turned to the bushes and the kids ran out. The group looked surprised seeing another half demon but we ran behind Sesshomaru before they could say anything. I took a hold of Ah Un’s reigns and we continued our journey.

A few hours later, Sesshomaru finally decided to stop for the night. Rin and Kaito went with Jaken to collect firewood and fish for dinner.

Since it was still twilight and we would have to wait a while till the fish were caught and cooked, I decided to take a dip in the lake. I walked to Sesshomaru and he looked at me quizzically. “I’m just gonna go wash up in the lake. I’ll be back in a little bit.” I bowed and walked into the woods towards the lake.

When I got there, I went to the secluded part of the lake and looked around to make sure there was no one there. I stepped into the water and goosebumps erupted on my skin at the cold temperature of the water. But I took a deep breath, took off my clothes and jumped into the water in a split second. I surfaced, my teeth chattering and I felt as if the wind had been knocked out of my lungs. “C-c-c-cold!” I hissed but stayed still for a few minutes until my body got adjusted to the cold.

I let out a breath and leaned against a rock and looked around me. The more I looked around…..I frowned. I looked at the forest surrounding the lake, the rocks surrounding the lake ant the barren pathways that led into the forest. It seemed so familiar….like I had been here before. I furrowed my brows and swam a little closer to the other bank and tried to look through the trees.

So lost in thought, I didn’t hear my surroundings and I shrieked and nearly punched the person behind me when I felt an arm circle around my waist. My fist was caught easily and I relaxed when I saw Sesshomaru there. My heart was racing and I sighed in relief. “Jeez don’t scare me like that! I didn’t even hear you…..” I shook my head but then froze when I realized the situation.

I looked at Sesshomaru and I could see his bare chest and wet hair. My eyes went as wide as dinner plates and I felt my face and ears get steaming hot. Both of us were in the lake naked…..and he was right in front of me. I let out a short shriek and turned around so he couldn’t see me. “Sesshomaru!!! What are you doing here?!!!”

He didn’t say anything and despite my struggling, he turned me to face him. he held me flush to him with a hand on my back and I placed my hands on his chest to atleast have a bet of distance between us. I was blushing so hard now and I was ready to faint.

I felt his head come closer and I tilted my head up slightly to see what he was trying to do. His lips crashed down on mine and my eyes went wide for a second but fluttered closed as he moved his lips slowly against mine. I felt my body become lost and I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and kissed back slowly. I felt lost at the feeling and I ran my fingers through his hair.

I felt him growl softly and I shivered. He pulled away and I was scarlet. He didn’t say anything but pulled me to one of the rocks and pulled me to his chest. I was still pretty embarrassed, but I like the feeling of being close to him so I let myself relax. And for the rest of our so called bath, we sat close to each other and watched the star lit sky.
