《The Cat's Sin of Sorrow (King X Reader) [Discontinued]》Round 2 (Part 4)

"Time for the match to get under way!" The ref called out. Ban was stretching out his shoulders.
"Sure would be nice if we had more room to move around." Captain laughed, "So what's with the laughing? You really looking forward to fighting with me that much Captain?" Ban switched to cracking his knuckles.
"I was thinking back to the old days. We had about this much space then, didn't we?" Ban grinned, which made me give off a soft smile myself.
"It's been a while. Which time are you talking about?"
"Don't worry, cause you'll remember it soon enough!" The Captain held up his hands before moving at incredible speeds and punching Ban in the face before he could even react.
"Oh yeah!" Ban answered, grinning, "I think I remember now!" The ref almost calls it early but Ban changes everything by snapping back into the fight at the last second and stopping himself with his feet. Then, catching Meliodas, he slams him towards the ground only for Meliodas to catch himself with his hands and grab Ban's head with his legs, slamming the taller man into the ground head first, throwing up pieces of the ring. Ban, however, continues instantly by throwing the Captain into the air with a kick and then attacking with a flurry of punches, leaving the Captain to use his arms to defend himself.
"That's nothing!" The Captain stops Ban dead in his tracks, launching him back into the ring. Ban hits so hard that I feel the ground shake as a crack digs through the ring and I can only imagine how it's affected the ground below. Questions from the crowd ring out, wandering if Ban is dead. Of course, seconds later Ban sits back up, unharmed. The expression on his face is a dull one.
Suddenly, they're both moving lightning fast again, throwing punch and kick at one another only to be blocked. Finally, Meliodas hits Ban in the stomach and then in the face, sending him flying as blood squirts out of his mouth. Ban falls back down on his back and seconds later Meliodas is on his hands and knees. Ban sits back up in the unnatural way he always does.
"You jerk. You've gone and done it now," The Captain tells him. Ban chuckles, his throat dry. Ban stands back up, rolling his back to swing his head up. His injuries have already healed. He rushes at the Captain and the Captain throws a punch, but stops dead in surprise. Meanwhile, Ban, who's ran behind Meliodas, punches him downwards, into the ring.

"I'm floating like a butterfly now," Ban announces, hopping on his feet as he gives the air light punches. A smile printed on his face. Meliodas replies by punching his face from the side, sending teeth flying but Ban stops himself from going to far.
"You knocked out one of my teeth! Or not," Ban jokes, showing off how his canine has already grown back. Meliodas jumps at him with a kick but Ban headbutts him away. Meliodas stops himself once more on one knee.
"You guys see that?" Diane interrupts, her voice soft.
"It's getting harder for the Captain to follow Ban's movements now," King answered.
"Do you think his stamina's starting to run out then?"
"Once the Captain started slowing down, then Ban's agility shot through the roof," King answered.
"And remember, the Captain said, 'You jerk. You've gone and done it now.'" I reminded.
"What are you trying to say?" Elizabeth asked.
"Ban's magic ability, Snatch, is able to capture opponents physical skills like speed and power," King explained.
Ban ran at Meliodas, punching him in the face, but Meliodas did a flip and threw Ban over his head and into the ground over and over again.
"That all you got?!" Suddenly, the Captain has to let go as Ban's muscles grow. Ban then proceeds to land on his feet and push Meliodas across the ring.
"This feeling as this strength of yours flows from you into me... Oh man! This is such a rush!" Ban announced, "I wonder how much power I ended up taking! Time to find out!" Ban leaped into the air, throwing a punch at Meliodas. Unfortunately for Ban, Meliodas punches back with his own fist, breaking Ban's hand and hitting his stomach, making blood spurt out of Ban's mouth as he flied towards the edge of the ring. Ban barely stops himself as he slows down with one foot and begins fixing his arm.
"This has to be some kind of joke or something. How bottomless is your power Captain?" Ban grabs his face, pulling himself forward and saunters toward the Captain as the Captain walks toward him, "I've made up my mind."
"Given up?"
"I've just been chipping away at your speed and power up 'till now, but I'll need to do a little more than that if I want to wrap this up. So I'll just take it all," Ban leaned forward, holding out his arms. The Captain lunged forward, throwing a flurry of punches.
"Hurry up and beat him already!" Diane yelled.

"If Ban steals all his strength than he'll win, so the Captain's going to have to take him down before that," King worked out.
"Yep," I added in. Meliodas fell over, unable to do any more.
"That was delicious, Captain," Visible purple power moved around Ban's figure.
"Um, Sir King? What's going on with Sir Meliodas?" Elizabeth questioned.
"Ban zapped his physical abilities. Now he doesn't have anything left," King answered.
"The Captain must have a plan though, right?" I wondered.
"Well, it looks like you and I are finally coming to the end of this little scuffle of ours, doesn't it Captain?" Ban questioned, walking over to the Captain, "What should I do now?"
"Ban!" Diane screamed and King his Elizabeth, "If you do anything more to the Captain, I'm never going to forgive you!" Diane was waving her fist through the air. "Friendship over, understand?!"
"Just butt out, will ya? I've won this fight, so don't go telling me what to do."
"Sounds to me like you're a little punch drunk, 'cause I'm the one who's winning," The Captain challenged. Ban laughed.
"I guess you and me are really the perfect match, aren't we Captain? Well, I think I'm going to deliver the final blow now, if you don't mind," Ban raised his fist above his head.
"Stop Sir Ban! Or Meliodas will..." Elizabeth cried out.
"No question about it, this match is gonna go to the Captain," Diane commented.
"It will?"
"I can see it now. He's obviously playing dead so he can reflect Ban's punch right back at him using Full Counter."
"That won't work," King replied.
"Huh?" Diane turned towards King.
"I'm sorry Diane, but the Captain's magical ability is only able to reflect direct magical attacks. So it'll be powerless against an ordinary punch."
"And, last time I checked, he needed a weapon too," I added.
"No way!" Diane pointed to the ring, "Then what's he doing out there?"
"Honestly I have no idea!" King admitted. I grinned and sent them a glance.
"Captain, you better have a plan," I muttered.
"If you survive this, make sure to tell me how it felt afterwards!" Ban instructed, "The taste of a punch that has both your power as well as mine behind it!"
"Sir Meliodas look out!" Elizabeth cried desperately. Ban threw the punch, sending dust flying through the air, "Oh no. He actually attacked him! Sir Meliodas!"
"Shh!" The Captain instructed as the dust cleared, "Watch the name Elizabeth."
"Meliodaf is all alone in the ring! Where's Baan?" The announcer asked.
"He's over there," The Captain answered, pointing to a pillar a few hundred yards away where dust was being thrown into the air.
"This is incredible. It can only mean..."
"I'm the winner," Meliodas replied, smirking.
"Melliodaf onto the next round!" The announcer yelled. Cheers roared into the air from the audience.
"Hey, you see that?" King questioned.
"Uh, huh."
"Yep," I answered.
"The fight was over pretty fast, but I think I saw something kind of strange," King murmured.
"Well, I could see how it all played out. Ban landed a blow with all his strength, no doubt about it, but as he did that, the Captain crushed his wrist at that exact same moment, and then, a second later, Ban's body was sent flying out of the ring. I remember seeing the Captain with the same look on his face before. What is that? Seeing it makes me feel really nervous," Diane told us.
"Sounds to me like the Captain has some secrets," I breathed.
"Hey guys! Is something wrong? What's with the gloomy looks on your faces?" The Captain asked as he waked over to us.
"So, how are you holding up?" King questioned.
"See for yourself," the Captain rolled out his shoulder, "Once I'd beat Ban, I felt good as new."
"But how the heck was he able to move like that before he beat Ban," Diane muttered. The Captain moved closer to her.
"Is something bothering you Diane? It's not like you to stress out over stuff. I guess you are fighting (Y/N) though."
"Oh no! I better hurry!" Diane exclaimed, handing the Captain Elizabeth in her purple bow thing? Actually, what was that thing? I shook my head, realizing I had to get up in the ring with Diane.
"I know you can do it Matrona!" King encouraged Diane. I felt my heart recoil a bit, but I just bit my lip. "You too Luna!" I sighed. At least he was rooting for us both.
"Try not to do anything crazy you two!" Elizabeth told us. I sent her a smile as the Captain looked at her backside.
"Meliodaf!" Diane cried out angrily.
"Not cool!" I joined.
"Let the first match of the Semi-Finals begin!"

Toothpick
“Hello! My humble audience! I, the Bard of the North, am going to tell you a tale. Nothing new, nothing old. A story of a hero, some may say, others a poor boy who was hated by the world.” The storyteller paused as he waited, right timing was everything when telling a story. Pacing… Too slow and the audience became bored then left without tossing even the smallest of coins. If he spoke too fast and rushed the story. It would leave the audience confused and having no reason to be impressed. So like any good storyteller, the Bard has to do a balancing act of sorts. Not too slow, not too fast. Just perfectly in the middle. “In a shattered country in the south, a novice princeling has the ambition to mend a torn tapestry that is his birthplace. Struggling to fend off those who would usurp the throne in an unending civil war spanning centuries. A mercenary that left only death in his wake, unable to stave off the monotony and peace of life. He looks back at the path laden with bodies, wondering if it was all worth it. Wandering souls summoned by a madman, travel away from a wasteland in a foreign land, the first alone, the others as companions. A deity, ancient in her years, waiting to be freed from a duty she no longer enjoys. For all these people and their stories, none are the hero of this tale. No, the hero is not grand, not wise, not ready.. he was punished for nothing of his doing, who was an outcast that was unloved by many, including his father.” This was always the big reveal novices use to jump off into their story. He did not start here, instead, like any good fishermen, he set the bait and waited until the fish bit before pulling. As he saw the audience's eyes focus, he then started the backstory. The harness, that stopped the listeners from having metaphorical whiplash. The foreshadowing. “But that is not where the story starts. No, not even the hero's birth. Where the story begins, is the boredom of the deity, a deity many know of. She who hunts for the impossible, the guide for those who have lost the path, the Huntress of Mallon--” A small pause, a short breath. “--All old names for a single powerful being that has roamed the grounds of this continent longer than any line of kings or queens, lords or ladies. A being of worship for many an individual…” One last breath. And he began singing the first verse.
