《The 8th Deadly Sin (MeliodasxOCxKing)》Chapter 7

---Tsuki's P.O.V---
We made it back to the tavern, and are preparing to eat. Gowther's going to be joining us on our quest.
"Great! And with you on our team, the Eight Deadly Sin count is up to six! Let's get drunk to celebrate!" Meliodas says. Everyone cheers. It didn't go well last time, but I'm sure it'll be alright now.
"Although we would have done that anyway, I'm in!" King says. We get the food and ale ready and get right to eating. I hang out with King and Diane. I'm on her shoulder and King is in the air. It doesn't take long for us to get at least a little bit drunk. We all talk and laugh.
"King! Fly me around!" I smile.
"A-are you sure?" He asks. I nod.
"I wanna flyyy!" I cheer and King nods. He puts me on his back and we fly around. Soon, Ban drags us down to him.
"Hey guys, our buddy Gowther here was actually able to pick out King by his B.O." Ban laughs. What?
"Along with his bone structure and tone." Gowther adds.
"Really?" I ask.
"You were able to identify his smell?" Elizabeth asks.
"I'm curious, let's all have a smell." Ban drags us over there. He sniffs King. Why not? I'm curious too.
"Kinda sickly-sweet isn't it?" Ban thinks aloud.
"Yeah, like flowers." I add.
"Hey-" King starts. Everyone's smelling him now.
"It smells so...familiar." Diane says.
"That's what the Fairy King should smell like." Elizabeth says.
"Guys, knock it off! If you keep crowding me I might-" He's cut off by himself turning into his human form.
"Now he smells kinda sour!" Ban thinks aloud.
"Like sweaty socks..." I say.
"It's not that bad, guys! You must be imagining things!" His deep voice says.
"This one smells familiar too!" Diane exclaims. King changes back and starts crying.
"You're gross, man." Ban teases.
"Don't let him get to you." I pat his head.
"What's the big idea, ganging up on me?!" He yells at Gowther.
"I didn't do anything to you." Gowther responds coolly.
"Of course you did! You started this mess, so you need to clean it up!" King yells.
"Very well." Gowther says. He points at Diane. "Diane, you say you are 29 feet tall, when in fact you are closer to 30." He starts. I shake my head. "The fudging of your weight is even more severe-" He gets cut off by Diane punching him into the ground.
"What is wrong with you, Gowther?! Why do you have to be so mean?! A lady's allowed to keep some secrets, you jerk!" She yells.
"As for you, Ban, during the battle with the vampires in Edinburgh twelve years ago, you got rather unreasonably drunk." Gowther says.
"Yeah, that's right. I got pretty hammered and decided not to join the mission. I said I was sorry." He shrugs and takes a swig from the bottle.
"But you didn't only do that, you never apologized for using Physical Hunt to steal King and Diane's power, or for laughing at them as you watched them struggle." Gowther says and Ban spits out his drink. So that's what happened.
"Ohh so that's why I felt so weak." Diane says.
"That was you?!" King asks angrily.
"Come on, that was a long time ago. Forgive and-" He's cut off my Diane crushing him in her hand. He breaks free.

"Woah! It wasn't my finest moment, but I don't deserve this!" He yells. Gowther turns to me. He shoots a beam of light into my next.
"And for you, Tsukiko, you have a younger sister." Gowther says.
"Had." I correct coldly.
"No, have. I've seen her around before. Rin was her name, right? I ran into her before in a forest. She said she was looking for her Big Sister. That must be you. She was traveling around with another Neko. His name was Hiroyuki, if I remember correctly. There were others as well. A giant named Emilia, a fairy named Cassandra, and a girl named Alice. Victoria looked strangely like Elizabeth." Gowther says and my eyes widen. Rin and Hiro are...alive? Who are the others?
"R-really?! Where?!" I can't hide my pure joy. My sister and old best friend are alive!
"I apologize, I cannot remember." He apologizes.
"That's okay! At least they're alive!" I grin. Gowther shoots another beam of light into King's neck and he yells at Gowther.
"Yeah, there's no reason to air our guilty consciences." Meliodas says.
"Yeah!" King pauses. "I mean, not that I have anything to feel guilty about!" King yells at Meliodas.
"You could have defeated that opponent without me." Gowther says, inspecting his glasses. "As a matter of fact, King, you would have won easily if you maxed out your power to the absolute limit." Gowther says and everyone looks at King. King stays silent. "Perhaps the alcohol is affecting my judgement...Elaine?" He mentions Elaine.
"Gowther, no!" King yells at him.
"This Helbram person, who is he? It seems because of this man, you find yourself unable to-" He cuts himself off. "Perhaps unable isn't the correct word. Refusing to-"
"NO NO NO!" King yells and uses Chastiefol to cover his mouth.
"Calm down. Nothing to get worked up about." Meliodas says.
"Oh yeah?" King looks at him.
"This is why you probably shouldn't delve so deep into people's memories, Gowther." Meliodas scolds.
"Yeah, he's right. You gotta read the room a little." Hawk adds.
"Read the room?" Gowther looks confused.
"Sir Meliodas! Your meat just came out of the oven!" Elizabeth calls out.
"Oh! Thanks!" Meliodas walks over.
"Is the princess in love with the Captain?" Gowther asks. Most likely, I mean, who isn't? OR WASN'T! "Her voice rises in pitch, and her heart rate accelerates. That doesn't happen when she speaks to the rest of us." Gowther continues. Oh no. Diane. "I've heard of this before. It's called love. A condition that affects both humans and other species."He just doesn't shut up.
"Stop! Quit talking, you idiot!" King yells at him.
"Man, we're really in for it now!" Ban says.
"Just take it easy,Diane." I turn around.
"No need to blow away the whole village..." Ban adds. We notice that she's sleeping. I'm so relieved.
"Hey, Tsuki, wanna go for a walk?" King asks me. I nod. We walk through the forest, and King teaches me some stuff I already knew. I pretend not to because, I don't want to ruin the moment. He turns around and picks up some really good smelling stuff. "Hey, Tsuki, isn't this Catnip?" He asks. I turn into a cat and start to purr and rub against him. "Whaat are you doing?" He asks me. Neko can turn back into cats, but only by Catnip. After a minute, it stops. King just stares at me. I try to say something but a meow comes out. I sit there. I jump up, grab the catnip, and rip it to shreds. I change back to my human form, putting on the clothes that were on the ground while King turns away.

"Catnip is sort of like a weakness for Neko. We turn back into cat form, and can't control it. For a minute or two, we act like cats. The only way to turn back is to rip up the catnip to shreds and then we turn back." I explain.
"I didn't know that." He says, looking closer.
"Well, my culture is very secretive." I point out. We keep walking until we come to an open field.
"Tell me about them, Rin and Hiroyuki." King says, sitting down. I sit down next to him.
"Where to start? Rin is my younger sister, with black hair and blue eyes instead. She looks a lot like our father. I look more like my mother. Hiroyuki has dark brown hair and green eyes. He's really fun and silly. Rin is laid back and immature too." I laugh, remembering memories.
"Tell me about your mom and dad." King asks.
"My dad, he had black hair and blue eyes. He was never uptight, but he was strict when he needed to be. He always looked out for us and everything." I smile, remembering him.
"Your mother?" King asks.
"My mother died when I was young. They never told me why. I look identical to her. I have the same medium length black hair and green eyes. I don't remember her very well, but I used to be just like her. I was always around her in my younger days. I remember her always speaking softly and being full of compassion and sympathy. But one day, she was gone. That's all I remember." I say, remembering her kind voice and shining eyes. The reason why my family treated me like a baby is because I'm her mirror image. I guess, in a way, it was like they were protecting her.
"Oh..." King says.
"But it's alright, that's in the past. What's important is for me to find Rin and Hiro. I need to keep them safe." I smile.
"About earlier, I don't think that you're weak at all. I think that you're really strong. I just don't want you to hurt yourself." He says. My face hardens, remembering earlier.
"Because you think I'm weak." I repeat.
"No" He rolls his eyes.
"Yes." I argue.
"No"
"Yeah"
"No"
"Yeah" We go back and forth until he snaps.
"It's because I care about you! I am your boyfriend! It's my job to care about and love you!" He yells. I pause. I haven't thought about that. "You're just so obsessed with being strong for some reason, that you're trying to shut everyone out! You can't do that! People who try to be strong all by themselves end up dead in the end." He continues. My face goes red.
"Maybe I'm so obsessed with being strong because it was my own weakness that killed my family! I want to be strong so I can protect someone for a change! Even if it means dying in the end! Since my mother died, i've been treated like a baby. Every time I scratched myself, my father and sister would come running. They always tried so hard to protect me and keep me safe, that I never really knew anything about independence. The same thing with the village! Everyone in the village loved my mother, and I look just like her. Ever since she died, they all took care of me. I guess, in a way, they were trying to make up for her death. And look what that got them! They're all gone! I don't ever want that to happen again. I want to be strong enough to protect the ones I love, so you don't need to protect me anymore." I counter.
"But I want to protect you. I understand independence, but I want to be there for you too. I want to love you." He says, kissing me. "You're not alone anymore." He pulls away. "I'm here. Don't forget that. I may have made some mistakes in the past with Elaine and Diane, but I'm not going to do that with you. Trust me." He says and we hug. I close my eyes, enjoying the moment.
I open my eyes again to find myself in a bed. I recall the events of last night. Oh, I must have fallen asleep on King. I rub my eyes, getting ready for the day. I walk downstairs to find everyone in the tavern. I wave hello and sit at one of the tables. Meliodas talks about getting the sword he lost back.
"Okay! So who's coming with me?" He asks, slamming his hands on the table.
"As fun as that sounds, I think I'll pass." Ban says sarcastically.
"Besides, it's your own fault you lost it in the first place." King refuses.
"He has a point." Gowther says.
"Well, I have nothing else to do, so I'll come." I look at my claws. He starts talking about the dragon hilt on the sword he lost. We keep talking. I tune out most of it. I already know about the dragon hilt. But what's interesting is why Hendrickson would want to resurrect the demon race. Hawk starts mumbling and groaning something about a sign.
"It's simple." A familiar voice says. I turn around to see a mage behind Elizabeth. Oh no. "She's the last key to breaking the seal." The mage continues.
"Elizabeth, get away from her!" Meliodas and I jump to save Elizabeth. They teleport away and I land on the ground. No! Elizabeth! This is bad. Really bad. Meliodas yells and jumps up. He grabs Liz's present and runs out the door. I follow him.
"Captain!" Diane says.
"Follow me! We're heading to the capital to save Elizabeth." Meliodas says.
"But how, it's more than forty miles away!" King flies behind me. Diane.
"Diane." I turn to her.
"I'm on it." She agrees.
"Hold up. I changed my mind. I'm coming with you." Ban grabs onto us.
"Ban, would you stop fooling around?" King scolds him.
"You've got your reasons, I've got mine." Ban answers. Elaine. Gowther joins us. King protests and Diane picks us up.
"Tsuki! Be careful!" King calls out to me.
"Don't worry, I'll look after her." Meliodas tells him.
"Like hell you will." King mumbles angrily and flies away.
"Here goes. I might be off by a little." Diane tells us.
"Just get us close enough and there won't be an issue" Meliodas says. She gets ready.
"No matter what happens, just get Elizabeth back safe, okay?" She says.
"Right!" I agree. Diane yells and throws us through the air.
"We're dead." Ban says through gritted teeth. I try to laugh. We approach the castle and see Holy Knights getting ready. This is it. We land.
