"What the fuck." She breathed out, eyes wide and mouth parted in shock.
Seowoo immediately looked around, letting the mattress fall back as she hurried to the door to close it- pressing her back against it as she stared at his bed.
Nothing could have prepared her for that.
Why did he have so much money, why did he need that many phones?
Whatever it was, she was determined to get to the bottom of.
Seowoo glanced around his room for any more out of place objects and she began to walk around- eyes flickering over everything before she halted.
Seowoo turned on her heels, staring at the white book on his bed before heading over to it- grabbing it and turning to the front page.
Kim Minhee, £120,000
Song Daeho £367,000
Park Iseul £750,000
Ryu Seunghoo £890,000
Lee Jinhyuk £900,000
Xiao Jiayi £1,000,000
"What..." She breathed out, her eyes trailing down the dozens of names scrawled in the book to the bed.
What was the money for?
None of the names were familiar to her and she immediately brought out her phone to search them all up.
How could there be no results on this many people...not a single person?
Shaking her head, hands trembling as she began to type.
Seowoo added Haewon
No time to explain
Jaemin: WHERE THE FUCK HAVE U BEEN
Jisung: we haven't seen you in weeks!
As I said, no time to explain but do any of you know these people
Jeno: what's that
I'm not sure
Seyeon: I got you dw
We have everyone's records here
Renjun: where did you even find that suspicious looking list
It doesn't matter
I just need to know who they are
Seyeon: give me a few minutes
Where did you find that
Advertisement
Just somewhere
Where did you find it
Why?
Because Xiao Jiayi was my Mother
What
Wait was?
She was murdered
So tell me, where did you find that
Holy shit
Wait...
Wait for what
Do you think...
No it can't be, he wouldn't do that right?
Where are you, I need to see the list
I'm at home
Send me the address
Now?
Yes
No thanks
Why
Because I'm home alone and for all I know you could easily kill me
You're a bad liar
Okay fine I look like a tramp
Nothing out of the ordinary then
Wow
Forget it
I'm joking
No you're not
Yeah I'm not, send me the fucking address
Whatever, just hurry cuz my parents are home soon and they won't be thrilled to find you here

The sound of the doorbell brought Seowoo from her mini trance, glancing down at her black leggings and a random grey hoodie she threw on before shrugging.
She unlocked the door, opening it to see Chenle standing at the door- his black hair over his forehead as he was looking off into the distance- his side profile visible to the girl.
He was wearing a grey hoodie and black jeans which made Seowoo look down at her own clothes.
Hearing the door open, he glanced over at it to see Seowoo standing there.
He looked at her expectantly.
"It's cold." He stated and Seowoo rolled her eyes.
"Congratulations." Nevertheless, the girl stepped to the side to let him in as he eyed her house.
"We have to be quick." Seowoo said hurriedly, already walking up the steps as he was still taking his shoes off.
"What's with your outfit?"
"What about it?" She asked back with narrowed eyes.
"Why do you have the same outfit as me?"

"No, you do." Seowoo said.
Chenle rolled his eyes.
"Whatever, where is it?" He asked, basically towering over her as he glanced around the upstairs hallway.
Seowoo began to walk towards the open door, leading him to her brother's room.
"I have a bad feeling about this." She admitted. "What if it's like...death money?"
"How much did he make?" He asked nonchalantly, looking around the room with his hands stuffed in his hoodie pocket as Seowoo walked towards the bed.
"This much."
Chenle mindlessly glanced over at her, eyes dropping to the bed as she lifted the mattress up as his face fell.
"What the fuck?"
He walked closer, next to her as he leaned over the bed to glance at the money then to the phones.
"Have you checked them?"
She shook her head.
"I'm scared."
"Of what?" He asked almost amused.
"What if it's what I'm thinking..." She trailed off, glancing up at him with her big worried eyes. "What if he you know...killed people?"
Chenle's eyes flickered between her own before tearing them away and glancing at the bed- grabbing the mattress to pull it half off the bed.
He cleared his throat as he crouched down.
There was a strong silence.
"How are you?"
The question totally caught the girl off guard, snapping her head up towards him with lips parted in shock.
"What?"
As he grabbed a phone with his gloved hand, he glanced up at her.
"The other week."
"Oh..." She trailed off as she remembered the time she broke down completely.
A flood of red stained her cheeks in embarrassment.
"Um, yeah about that I'm sorry-"
"It's fine," he cut her off abruptly, cold toned. "It's expected."
"Expected?" She asked almost offended.
"You haven't grieved properly."
"Yes I have!" She exclaimed defensively, glowering at him.
Chenle sighed at her short temper as he turned on the phone.
"No need to get angry Angel, I was just saying." He muttered.
"If I have or not is none of your business." She huffed.
Chenle halted before tilting his head as he stared at her.
"You still never answered my question."
"What question?" She felt vulnerable under his intense gaze.
"I asked how you were."
There was a tense silence in the air as he stared at her and she tried to blink away the sudden flustered sensation.
It was totally out of character for him.
"Why do you care, are you my therapist?"
Chenle clicked his tongue in disapproval.
"You need to work on your anger, I was just-" he paused.
"Just what?" She asked.
"I was just making sure you were fit to continue in the gang."
She scoffed at his response.
The phone screen illuminated his skin, lips pulling into a smirk- holding the phone up.
"Let's see what we have here then."
Well it's getting juicyy did her brother kill people 👀

I, Mor-eldal: The Necromancer Thief
As a budding little necromancer, I soon discovered that the world of city people is complicated. When my master kicked me out of the cave, he warned me not to talk about my “dark” magic, because people here don't like the undead. I am not really an undead, I just have a skeleton hand, but it is better to be careful. Anyway, that's not my biggest worry. In the Black Dagger brotherhood, I learn a lot of things, such as illusionist magic, which turns out to be quite handy to survive in this maze of streets: in the Cat Quarter, we have thugs of all kinds that are best avoided. But we also have good people, goodhearted “gwaks”, as we say around here. Little did I know that I would soon be caught up in an infamous traffic that would entangle my life even more. With a mix of lighthearted adventure and picaresque, this story narrates the hectic life of a good-spirited street child and his companions in a medieval urban fantasy setting with some nineteenth-century influences. Updates Mondays and Fridays. This is a Creative Commons By work. It is a translation of a trilogy I wrote in Spanish between 2017 and 2018.
