《Loving Everly Gray (✔️)》Chapter 32

The library was not that busy, but there were some students hanging around. Something good about the school is that they close the library at 6 pm, which allow us students the advantage to stay in school that late.
Elliot made sure, I was sitting somewhere that he thinks I would be comfortable in. It didn't really matter where I was sitting.
He seemed reluctant to leave, but eventually he did. I was so close to finishing my assignments, when someone pulled a chair beside me and I see a guy who I assume is from the music club smiling at me.
"Hello." He said.
I awkwardly replied back and waited patiently for them to ask something or say something.
"We are having a small event outside school to raise funds for our local charities." He started and I nodded my head as a sign to continue talking.
"It would be perfect if you could help us to call students to the event. It's indoor, so there shouldn't be a problem for students to sit for the performance."
I don't know, why of all the people he have to approach me and ask for help. Does he think I am popular enough or too strong enough to call people for some events?
"I- I would have loved to help." I started. "B-but I can't help you, I'm sorry."
"Why?" He asked.
"I am not a popular kid who everyone listens to. You should ask some jocks or cheerleaders."
"You have Elliot, you can speak to him." He asked hopeful.
"You can speak to him yourself." I said.
"His glare is enough to make me want to run for the hills." He cracked a joke and I smiled a little.
"I can't guarantee you he will help or come, but I will let him know, if he listens." I added and he chuckled a little.

In the midst of talking I didn't see him approaching us and boy he was glaring at the back of the poor guy.
The guy, who I don't even know his name was, scrambled on his feet and greeted him and was about to leave, when Elliot pulled him by his collar from the back and turned him around.
"Where are you f^cking going?" Elliot snarled at him.
Elliot, most probably took a shower since his hair is slightly wet and he have changed into a black hoodie and black skinny jeans and sneaker with his trench coat. He looked handsome like always.
"I-I am going back to my place." He said.
"If you come near her again, you will be the next one in the field." Elliot warned. I put my hand on Elliot's and glared at him.
"He was here to talk about an event and needs your help." I defended that poor lad and was scared about the guy's safety and wondered where the heck was the librarian, but I didn't want either of them in trouble. "Leave him alone." I pleaded Elliot and he looked at me and sigh and left the guy and took my hand. He was still angry, but he was controlling.
"If you f^cking need my help, you come and talk to me directly. You don't have to come near my girl." Elliot snapped and oh boy, did he just called me his girl? Why is that making my heart flutter.
"Would you have listen if he came to you?" I asked him and without even hesitating he replied.
"Of course not." And I rolled my eyes at him. "Sorry about that, I will pass the message to him." I apologize to that guy.
"You don't have to apologize to him." Elliot said and I glared at him as he smiled at me. The guy thanked me and quickly walked away, some student pretending to be busy.

Elliot smell of after shower and his usual mint.
"How was practice?" I asked, trying to ease his mood as I pulled my hand away to gather my things.
"It was good, now tell me what did that sh^t say to you."
I took my bag and pull him out with me to the exit.
"Are you teasing me? You know, I can go back inside and pull that guy to the field and give him a lesson?" He said and I smack him lightly. He chuckled and put his arm on my shoulder as we walked out of school.
"He needed your help to raise funds for charity reasons."
He did not say anything. "Are you going to help?"
"He could have come directly to me."
"You already admitted you wouldn't have listened."
"Yes, but I would for these reasons."
"You are just so unapproachable." I said.
"Am I?" He asked thoughtfully. "Well, what do you think I should do?"
"I think you should help out?" I asked.
"Do you want me to?" He asked stopping and looking at me.
"Of course." I said.
He did not say anything for few minutes and then said, "Then I will."
My eyes widened. "You are not lying?"
"I keep my promises, Everly." He said with a serious tone and his eyes showing deep emotions, as quickly it came-it went away. "But you owe me."
I rolled my eyes, "Here I thought you were doing it without expecting anything. What is it?"
He smiled and said, "You and I, let's date."
The only sound that was coming was from the wind that was blowing around us.
"W-What?" I asked again.
"Let's date." He said.
"B-but, don't we have to know each other?"
"We spent quite a lot of times together."
"But we don't know much about each other, you don't even want to share your secrets."
"You don't share it, either." He pointed out. "That's why I think we are good for each other."
"Relationship is commitment, it's not a game and it's all about communication, understanding and communication. We don't do any and I don't think you are ready for this; heck I am not ready either."
"We will just try." He said, taking my hand and playing with it, gently.
"Try?" I said, very much aware about the butterflies in my stomach playing games with me, as he played with my fingers.
"There is no harm in trying." He said.
I pulled my hand away this time. "I don't think you can love." I whisper.
He frowned. "What if you are wrong?"
"What if I am right?" I twisted the question.
He paused and said, "Here is the deal, let's date for six months and you can see if I am capable of loving someone."
"I think you will be the first one to run."
"I will run for sure." He said and I tilt my head, side way- a little confused by his words. "But I will be running with you beside me."
And that had to be the most cheesiest thing I ever heard from Elliot Walker.
"So? Are you in for the run with me?" He asked, his eyes shining with what seem like hope and a weird emotion I have never seen before.

The Dreamside Road
Five years after the world fell into chaos, a treasure of artifacts is up for grabs. The relics of the Dreamside Road offer a power that could help rebuild or annihilate what remains. Orson Gregory is an adventurer for hire, but hunts this treasure for answers, not glory. Enoa Cloud’s late aunt helped hide the Dreamside Road, but following in her aunt’s supernatural tradition offers her as much peril as power. Together, Orson and Enoa battle a magic-obsessed militia, clash with a host of rivals, and face constant adventure on their journey to find the Dreamside Road. *Updates Monday and Friday The Dreamside Road is now on TopWebFiction! Vote so people know this exists. _____________________________________ NOTE: The Progression tag applies specifically to Enoa. Also, fair warning, that element doesn't enter the story until she begins her studies. Content: Main characters range in age from teenagers to people in their thirties and older, but it will not contain gratuitous violence or explicit sexual content. It also won’t shy away from implication, anything to make this story and its world feel more real. Characters will freely allude to potentially triggering topics, including living with a disability, facing terminal illness, coping with trauma, surviving societal destabilization, and the consequences of bigotry. At its most intense, the Dreamside Road is a hard PG-13. Worldbuilding: This is not a story with a lot of early exposition scenes, conveniently explaining ‘magic systems’ and political dynamics. Readers will learn, progressively, as the characters do. This story/world has a ‘magic system’, or rather, a set of systems, but the effort to quantify and understand the truth of the setting plays a role in the backstory, as well as in some character motivations. In that same vein, not every character has a firm grasp on the nature of their world, and not every piece of dialog from every character should be taken as entirely truthful Worldbuilding. Also, this isn't the softest Sci-fi. There are at least some basic explanations given for various elements, but Royal Road does not give me a spectrum to choose from. Given the choice between hard and soft, let's just say The Dreamside Road won't be cited in any college Physics papers. Setting and Theme: The Dreamside Road walks the line between fantasy and science fiction and deals with finding one’s place in a changing world. Many of the characters in this story are United States natives and the story begins in the United States, my homeland. However, knowledge or interest in this country is not necessary to understand the story, especially as it progresses. Also, as this is a novel that deals with societal collapse and while that damage may be widespread, in story, I don’t want to overstep and critique the culture of others’ unless I have particular knowledge in a given area. Ultimately, the Dreamside Road is American in the same way Harry Potter is English, fantasies that do not have a full secondary world, but with enough original elements to fully diverge the setting from our the real world.
