My foot tapped the ground, impatiently as I stood in an empty parking lot. A very bad habit, that I needed to correct, soon. Elliot was having another fight today. The week have been very overwhelming with support and hates coming all over the school. Of course, the popular children are offended that Elliot is dating someone out of his social cliques, while the rest of the school was supportive. Some popular children wanted to say something, but they were hesitant to and I have a feeling that it have to do with Elliot.
On Thursday, which was yesterday-when Elliot came to pick me up from work, he was hesitant to tell me that he got a call for a fight, but he had to anyway because he knows if I find out I will be very upset with him.
He told me to protect my identity and to make sure I was not the centre of anyone's attention.
He seemed to be waiting for someone as I see him typing furiously on his phone and looking around at the same time.
"There you are." I heard him say, as I see a figure approaching us. A guy with similar built as him smiled as he stood in front of me. His hair was silver blond and his eyes was of the lightest sea colour. He wore expensive brands like Elliot and he carried himself with confidence and beauty.
"Hello, you must be Everly. I am Cole, El's favourite cousin." He introduced and I should not have been surprised by his British accent, but I was.
"Nice meeting you." I said as I collected my calm.
"Baby, stay with Cole. Don't leave his side, no one knows who Cole is, so you are good." Elliot said looking at me. "I am trusting you." He looked at Cole, he give me a quick kiss on my forehead and turned around and was headingfor somewhere.

When I ran and pulled him back, "Don't get hurt." I pleaded and he looked at me with sad eyes.
"I will try." I give him a quick kiss on his cheek and said, "Good luck, baby."
"I will win for sure." He smiled. "I will see you later, stay close to Cole, please."
I nodded my head as he turned and walked somewhere. Cole came and stood beside me.
"How are you doing today?"
"Good? What about you?" I said awkwardly.
"Very well, how old are you may I ask? Same age as El?"
"Yea?"
"Great! I am of same age too."
"How long have you been here?" I asked.
"You mean moved here?" He asked as I nodded my head.
"Just few weeks back. I will be joining your school in few days. Just going through transfer and admission procedure."
"Nice. Your cousin is the popular kid in school."
"Not surprise, he was popular in London too."
"Figured." I said.
"But you are the diamond here, how he got you is a mystery to me."
"What?"
He grinned, "Shall we go inside? It's getting cold."
"Okay." I said. We walked side by side to the entrance, there were two bouncer standing there and guarding the door.
"For Kyle." Cole said in a monotone voice. The bouncer immediately moved away to give us way. The place was dark and smell of smoke, it was noisy with shouts and cheers of people. Cole linked our arms together and whispered, "just in case you are lost."
"Are we watching the game?" I asked.
"No." He said. "El doesn't want you to watch that."
"Then where are we going?" I asked.

"We are just going to hang around somewhere." He said, as lost as I was.
"Are you sure it is a good idea to roam in this sketchy place?"
"Of course is is not a good idea, but it is better than freezing outside."
"Why do I have a bad feeling about it." I whispered to him.
"What bad feeling?" He asked and there we go, bumping into a random stranger.
I apologized on behalf of us, while the stranger whose identity was still hidden behind the darkness, muttered a low. "It's okay." but made no effort to move, stood still.
He could clearly see Cole and I as we both stood near a small bulb which was on. I was confused and Cole looked lost.
"Are you looking for someone?" The voice asked.
"Not really." Cole said, "we are new here."
"Very well, what expectation do you have for this place?"
I moved closer to Cole in hope of comfort and avoidance of creepiness that I am feeling from this place.
"Nothing much, thought it was a night club." Cole lied perfectly.
"I believe you have came to the wrong place." He said. "How about I show you out?"
"That will be helpful." Cole said, just as the guy stepped to the light.
The guy was a little older to us, with black hair and sharp jawline. He seem like someone who doesn't take bullsh^t very well as I see calculation in his eyes as he looked at us. His many tattoos on his arms made him look a lot more intimidating.
"How old are you?" He asked, looking at me.
"Eighteen." I lied to him as he nodded his head.
"This way." He said as he walked in front of us and towards the exit, that none of us have noticed. Cole was unsure about the situation, so he give me a sign to follow that guy. The guy opened the door for us and waited for us to come out and took out a cigarette.
"I suggest you two stay away from this area." He said as he lit the cigarette.
It was cold now, there was strong wind and I can see flurries hitting the city. My hand went to my jacket's pocket for a little warm.
"You guys need a ride?" He asked.
"No. I drove here." Cole said, declining his offer in the most polite way.
"Good for you, she is feeling cold, so I suggest you two leave this place before snow hits the road."
"Thanks for your help." Cole said to him, I can see how desperate he wanted him to leave, but this guy does not take hint or clearly don't want to follow the hint.
"What's your name?" He asked.
"Alexa." I lied to him, again. He seemed a little suspicious, but nodded his head. "Landon." He introduced.
Cole froze beside me as he pulled my jacket, gently. "I think we should head home before the snow hit the road."
"I suggested that." Landon said.
"See you later and thank you for your help." Cole said as he pulled me along with him.
I can feel Landon's eyes on us as we were leaving and I heard Cole muttered, "F^ck! of all the people in this place,we had to bump into him."

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
